"Well, you came throught the shop....sadly i have no clue where to start." Eve said as she chuckled, putting more trash into the box as she slowly wheeled about the place, she sighed before she stopped and looked up at Cain. "Cain....are you sure you want to do this? I mean i am sure that you have a lot to do and being here will take up your time." she said to him a little nervously, she fingered the cast on her arm as she thought about the girl that he had to go and met with when she was in the hospital.
The man shook his head, smiling grimly. "I have something later on, but nothing pressing enough to leave you on your own." He stood, slowly moving to help her. "Are you trying to chase me off already?" he asked with a smile, lifting the box of trash. "Start telling me where things go, and I'll stay until I'm called away or you push me out with that broken arm of yours."
He really did seem like he was ready to help; obviously nothing called him off right away. And, of course, he wasn't thinking of his contact that Eve had on her mind. "My wish is your command, M'lady," he said, bowing his head dramatically while fighting to keep his smile off of his face. |
Eve couldn't help but smile and laugh a little as she listened to what Cain said and everything that he did, she covered her mouth for a few minutes before she set her arm down next to her. "No i am not trying to chase you off. Well so far most of the things laying around is trash....and thr rest just needs to be hung up on the walls or put on shelves." she said to him as she picked up a clay figureing, she sighed as she looked at it, fingering it before she set it on a table next to her. She picked up some more trash and placed it into another empty box, trying her best to clean up and not feel awkward around Cain even though he was just trying to help her out.
((I would totally feel awkward. lol))
He nodded at what she said, his own small smile growing with hers. A few books he found were set on shelves, and a couple other objects were set upright where they were sitting originally. Within a short amount of time, the room was beginning to look like someone could actually live in it once again. "This?" Cain asked for the umpteenth time, holding up another object - in this case, a picture. Of course the dark-haired youth knew that Eve must be feeling awkward, but he wasn't about to tiptoe around her. If anything, he was going to get her used to his presence as quickly as possible. After all . . . it would be a while until she could manage on her own. |
"That goes on the wall in the hallway." Eve said to him as she looked at the picture, it was one of the many pictures that she had of her and her foster sibilings. She still felt awkward around him but it wasn't as bad as when he first started to help her out, she looked and saw how much better the room look now that things were getting up off the floor. "Well now i have less things to worry about breaking." she said to him as she carefully wheeled her chair over to another pile of trash that she started to put into another empty box, she was very thankful that Cain come over to help her out but she still felt like she owed him for everything that he was doing for her even though he said it wasn't a big deal.
With a chuckle, Cain went to hang the picture where it went. When he returned, he checked his phone for the time . . . and frowned as he realized he'd missed a call. "Excuse me," he nodded to Eve before stepping just outside the front door, listening to the message left for him.
Meet me at the spot tonight. 10 minutes after 11. The woman's voice was smooth, as though she was used to such calls. With a slight sigh, he slid his phone back into his pocket before stepping back inside, smiling as he saw that Eve was still going. A valiant effort, on her part. After all, she was in a wheelchair, with broken limbs, and she was still managing to help clean her own house. They had done well. One room in the first day . . . and Cain had only been there for a good three hours. Motioning toward the hallway where he'd hung the picture, Cain tilted his head questioningly. "Was that your family?" he asked, taking one of the few remaining boxes over near the wall where he'd been stashing them. He would throw them out later. |
"No....but in a way they are my family." Eve said to him as a sadness took over her face as she picked up another picture of her with a bunch of different kids and two parents, she wipped the glass off as best as she could with one hand before she just looked at it. She placed it on a stack that was meant for the hallway, she chuckled a little when she pulled a pair of her pants out of a box, there was a list of names stiched onto them, she fingered it for a few moments before she placed them on a chair. "What about your family?" she asked him, getting more comfortable around him as they talked about thier past some, she couldn't really bring her self to tell him that she was and is an orphan.
"My family?" Cain frowned at the picture he was hanging. "We never were a close-knit bunch when I was younger." He chuckled mirthlessly then. "I was the troublemaker while Abel was the responsible one. Things haven't changed much." Satisfied that the picture was straight, he reached for another. "My parents got in an accident a few months ago, and we've been here ever since." The tall male didn't mention the fact that he'd been in the criminal business before leaving the big city, or the fact that he still had jobs around the town they were in now.
"It must be very nice to have a sibiling. I am sorry about your parents but at least you have your brother.......he is all you have left." Eve said as she got a little sad, looking over at the pants that had names stitched onto them, those were her family, the names of everyone that she lived with and got kicked out of, he last family wasn't on it yet. She picked up a clay bowl that she sat on top of other clay things on the over flowing table, she looked at Cain again, it didn't seem like he really understood what she was talking about. "Cain...When you look at the pictures....what do you think?" she asked him softly as she picked another picture up with her good hand, seeing that it was just her and two little boys, one of her families that she had lived with before she was kicked out for paintting on heer walls.
Iva only knew cain and Abel, so...she called Abel, leaving a message.."Hey, Abel its me Iva...I am sorry to call My newsest horse...stomped on my foot and well, I cant move around very easliy and You have seen my farm....so if you ever Have time, I could use your help around the farm..." Iva hung up fast after that. She has never asked anyone for help. it was a sigh if weakness but if she cannot move very well....then she had no choice.
"What do I think?" Cain looked over the pictures he'd hung, and frowned. "You look like you don't fit in to any of them. Like you are dreading the day when they turn you out, or thinking you're doing something wrong." His brown eyes flit over to Eve. "Are you . . ." he hesitated, not wanting to offend her or bring up a sensitive subject. He changed his question. Don't be a jerk, Cain. "Are you happy now?"
- After listening to the rushed and rather awkward message from Iva, Abel chuckled. Poor thing. He input Cain's number on his phone, but just before he called him he paused. He had time, right? Things were slowing down around the estate now that he'd taken over officially, and Abel was beginning to wonder what to do next. This offered a perfect opening to help out. Iva needed assistance, and he could easily give it to her. With a small smile, the youth leaned back in his chair, setting his work aside before dialing Iva's number. May as well set up a time to meet. |
"I guess....it is just really hard to be in my shoes." Eve said as she dusted off a stuffed bunny as best as she could, smiling down at it before she placed it on top of the table. "It is okay for you to ask questions, besides you will be surprised about how i can handle things." like being locked in the basement for days. she said to him with a smile, thinking the rest of wht she was going to say to him to her self, after all it wasn't something that she thought he should know. "What something to eat?" she asked him as she dug around in her while chair, finally finding her cell that Cain had given her, she placed it in her lap before she picked up a phonebook and looked a number up for the nearest pizza place.
Cain smiled, nodding. "Something to eat sounds lovely," he said, moving to hang up the last couple pictures. Despite his rather "rough" appearance, he had been raised by a very gentlemanly family - and had most of his manners still intact. "Might I help pay for it?" he asked with a slight smile over his shoulder, trying to lighten the mood further. The house had suddenly become much more oppressive and stifling after their talk, and the youth didn't want his presence to signal such moods - not from her.
"Chinese or Pizza......and only if you want too.....i lost my purse some where so i have to dig it up." Eve said to him as she chuckled a little bit, looking up from the phone book at him, she had a feeling that he was going to ask if she was adoptted, after all it was a touchy subject but at least one person should know about it. She bite her lip slightly as she fought with her self over telling him or keeping it to her self, she sighed slightly before she looked sadly down at her lap.
"I would prefer pizza myself," he said, and moved to stand beside her for a moment. Politely ignoring the tortured look on her face, Cain drew out his wallet. "I can pay for it, Eve. Don't worry about spending money to feed me. I'm here to help you, not to suck up your money." He smiled, handing her a twenty. "Consider it a perk for having me invade your home on such a short notice."
"Thanks...you know i like having you over here." Eve said to him as she smiled and dailled the number for the pizza, ordering them some food before she hung up and looked up towards Cain. "Cain....you were going to ask me if i am an orphan weren't you?" she asked him in a serious voice, placing the phonebook and her cell on a table near by, bitting her lip slightly as she looked at one of the pictures that had her in it with a few ther kids her age, they were all standing in front of the orpanage but the sign was hidden.
"I was," Cain nodded once, moving on to his next task. He was to put things on higher shelves where Eve couldn't reach, though there wasn't much more to finish up. The room, after hours of their work, was almost completed. "Don't feel as though you must indulge my curiosity. I don't mean to offend."
"People are going to find out sooner or later. Yes i am an orphan.....and allso those people in the pictures with me is the other orphans, a good chunk of them are my foster families. That is why family is so important...." Eve said to him in a sad voice as she looked at a stuffed animal, that she had picked up. She rubbed it for a few minutes before she placed it on the table, a tear excaping as she continued to clean up as best as she could with one arm and in a wheelchair.
Not knowing what to say, Cain let the silence fill the room as they finished up the last bit of the room. "I'm sorry," he said after a few minutes, his brown eyes scanning over the woman. He knew this was hard for her, that she was feeling badly about this. But he couldn't do anything about it.
Of course, it was then that the doorbell rang, and he quietly went to get it. After paying for the food, he brought it into the kitchen, wonder where they were going to sit. "Do you want it served in the dining room?" he asked a few moments later, glancing to her before setting the box on the counter. |
"It is fine. I just always took it that God needed me in those places to help others and to make me stronger....It is hard to talk about it but you were going to find out sooner or later so it is better you find out from me." Eve said to him with a smile on her face, there was sadness in her eyes, like she was hidding things that would hurt him far more then it had hurt her. She ran her free hand through her hair before she carefully made her way over to him at the counter, smiling as she open the top of the pizza box. "We can eat where ever we want. I do, here is fine." she said as she chuckled a bit, frowning as she thought about the cups being to high for her and trying to open the fridge while in the wheel chair, it was seriously hard on her as she tried to do things that she did every day.
[[*blushes*]] Iva's phone rang, it was Abel! Thank goodness! "Hello?" She said picking up her cell. It was him! Perfect timing!
[[ I am working fulltime at my new job so sorry for not being able to post !!!! ]] |

((It's okay . . . I won't be on much anymore, and I'm hoping I can stay in the rp. :())
"Wherever then," Cain said with a small smile. The tightness of his expression faded as soon as he followed her gaze to the cupboard. In no time at all he had two plates, two cups, and whatever juice had been in the fridge out beside the pizza. "Water or juice?" he asked as though he'd been thinking about it all along; as though it was his job. Being here to help includes all the little things, Eve. - ((Thanks for finding my last post, Ameika.)) Abel smiled as he heard Iva's voice. Leaning back in his chair, the youth cleared his throat. "I heard you needed some help around your place?" For once, he wasn't passing the job off to his brother. He was accepting it himself - for now. "I would be willing to help out, if you still need me." |
Iva smiled "Yes, I still need you, er, your help that is" Iva blushed to her self...glad that they were just over the phone. "When is good for you?? Anytime is pretty good for me..." She said.
(( no problem it is what i am here for and this rp moves slow enough that waitting isn't a problem and that we can all stay together lol :)))
"Juice is fine." Eve said to him as she blushed slightly, forcing her self to stand up slightly as she started to place some pizza slices on the plates, avoiding eye contact with Cain as she tried to stop blushing. She heard a ringing sound, it couldn't be the cell that cain gave her, after all she had just gottent it and he was the only one that knew the number besides the pizza place. She sat back down in her wheel chair, heavily as she leaned her head back and closed her eyes, she had forgotten to take her pills but she wouldn't let Cain know that, after all she was used to being alone. |
