'WTF, YOU DERANGED LOSER?!' Silvana's mind screamed as the vampire grabbed her drink and flung it. The tea spilled all over the floor and the cup shattered on the wall. He then proceeded to scream at her, grab Chloe, and run her down the hallway into another room and slam the door. He was a freaking psychopath! No wonder Chloe was freaked out by him, he was completely possessive and weird. Finally, Silvana marched halfway down the hall and screamed at the door. "I GOT HER TO EAT, AND YOU PROMISED ME IF I DID YOU WOULD STOP BEING A GRUMPY JERK. NOW, GET YOUR BUTT OUT HERE SO WE CAN TALK ABOUT THIS LIKE CIVILIZED PEOPLE!" When had she gotten so brave around vampires? They could easily shatter her into pieces! But for some reason, Silvana had a hard time caring. She saw herself in this girl, frightened and stuck in a man's house unable to leave. If Zadist was like this, she would be angry at him. Silvana could not just stand by without trying to help her.

Her only response was Phayte bellowing out, "I'll force her to eat! And if she doesn't keep it down, I'll force her to eat that! That will teach her! She's mine!"

A moment later, the door opened, Phayte shutting it behind him, leaving a sobbing Chloe in the room. His fangs were out, his eyes silver. His shirt was already off, as if he'd planned to use the female right then. "I know she's afraid. I know I hurt her! You think I like it?" The vampire reached for Silvana, pinning her against the wall roughly. "You think I like seeing my mate glare at me? Huh? I tried being nice to her! She needs to forgive me already! I brought her fucking flowers! I don't even look at flowers!" He stopped his yelling, panting slightly, hesitation ghosting over his features. His voice had softened, and he released Silvana. "I...I...I can't let her go now. She won't come back. Don't you understand? She's my world now, and she won't come back. I don't know how he lets you out of his sight, if this is how he feels..."

Silvana was about to yell at Phayte again. And any normal person would have been alarmed at his outburst and threatened by the expression on his face. But Silvana had experience dealing with Zadist, and Zadist was completely terrifying. He was the oldest male in existence, and... Well, sadistic. Before her, he was a rapist serial killer, and when with her... He acted like the sweetest man in the world. But then Phayte seemed to break down a little... Releasing her from his grasp and appearing very troubled. Phayte needed to understand... These things took patience. If he wanted to get Chloe to like him, he had to be gentle with her, in all aspects of their interaction. Silvana wanted to pat him.. To reassure him. But... He would probably bite her hand off. So instead, Silvana said, "Phayte, she told me about it... I can tell you what you need to do. But you have to talk to me, okay? Come on, come back to the living room with me. Forcing Chloe to do anything is only going to make it worse, I promise you." Silvana's voice was soft and calm.

Phayte hesitated, staring back at the door for a moment, before striding to it and opening it, bellowing inside, "Stay!" A terrified shriek was his answer, and Chloe could be seen diving under the bed.

The vampire turned to Silvana, his gaze a mixture of loathing and thanks, though he pressed past her, heading to the living room. "I won't let her leave." He informed the female over his shoulder.

Silvana followed Phayte into the living room and settled back down on the sofa. He could be all riled up and crazy about it, but she refused to be. She was going to tell the vampire straight what was up with Chloe. "She told me," she started, taking a deep breath, "That's she's not afraid of you. But she is afraid of what you do to her. She says you keep hurting her, and she doesn't like it. Additionally, she misses her family. She wants to see her family. Imagine, for a moment, how you felt when you were unable to see you brother for over a century. Obviously this isn't that bad, but... She feels similarly. I know you don't want her out of your sight. Okay. But, why not go with her? You can supervise her to make sure she doesn't run away. You're a vampire, you could easily catch her again."

Silvana watched the vampire's back for a moment, and then continued. "She told me that...She wants to leave, but at the same time something is holding her here. Like... She can't imagine life without you, despite the things that you've done to her. What this means to me is that... You could potentially have something, but you need to be patient with her. Human girls don't just warm up to you like that. You have to be nice, you have to be gentle, you have to be patient. And I stress this--Don't lose your temper all the time! It freaks me out when Zadist does that, and Chloe is just... At her wit's end." Silvana finished, averting her eyes from the vampire.

The vampire relaxed visablly, shaking his head. "I can't take her there. She's been all over the news and papers. If she cried out, just once, it's a risk of losing her..."

As Silvana continued, the male turned, a strange, almost...kind look on his face, through his eyebrows were almost pressed together in confusion. "So...she likes me? But...how patient? How much longer? What else do I do to make her stop looking at me like that? I...I want her to look at me..." He faltered for a moment, glancing away, "Like you look at Zadist."

"Well, it's one of the things she wants," Silvana said. If in this case, Chloe had been reported missing and people were looking for her, Phayte had essentially dug his own grave in the matter. She was not sure how to resolve it. But... It was something that he needed to do. "I don't know how you can do it. But... At some point... You should think about how to let her see her family, albeit indirectly. I'm sure she would appreciate it."

Silvana's heart fell at her mention of Zadist. Zadist, who was being tormented for her... Facing his mother and everyone else because he wanted to be with her. It made her so sad. And Phayte... Would he meet the same opposition from his family, eventually? "I know," Silvana said. "It's hard. But... I think you need to tell Chloe how you feel. It's difficult to change yourself and your habits, but for her sake, you have to try. Just... Talk to her. Let her talk to you. Don't get upset. I think that's how it worked with me and your brother." Silvana chewed on her lower lip. "We just talk a lot about things, that's all it is. If you do that... Get to know each other, let her know you're not a bad guy... Maybe it will be okay."

Phayte listened, then dropped his gaze to the ground, looking almost forlone. The effect was ruined as he rubbed the front of his trousers, growling softly. Clearly, he was not happy about the change in plans. "Fine...I'll...talk. And think about letting her see her family. Depends on how well she behaves." He lifted his head, stopping the growl that had started to come from him, instead giving Silvana a curt nod and heading down the hall again. "You got blankets and know where food is. You need anything, wake up Balto." The door opened softly, closing with a tiny click. Not the nicest thank you in the world, but it was decidedly better than the growl he was going to give her.

Silvana sighed deeply as Phayte departed from the room. Well, at least he had listened now. And hopefully it would benefit poor Chloe, too. She sincerely hoped they could resolve things, because it would be nice to have another human girl around to hang out with in the midst of all of these vampires. Of course, there was Balto, but he was a slave, not a mate. And he never talked to Silvana anyway. Silvana took her cell phone out of her purse, glancing at the time. God, it was late. She really needed to go back home. What about school tomorrow? Her mom would come into her room in the morning and she would not find her. She would flip out. God, it was such a mess. Silvana did not even know why she was here. They had not told her of the danger. She'd been too caught up in Phayte's marital drama to ask. Silvana thought about looking for Balto or Cynn to ask them, but decided against it. She curled up on the sofa, wondering how Zadist was doing.

It was a bit after that that a new light popped on: A bathroom. Ripping sounds could be heard from within.

Silvana jerked upright, whirling around to squint down the hallway at the light and the ripping sounds coming from within. What the hell?

After a few minutes, Balto emerged, tucking a strip of guaze into another one. He looked worse than normal, bites covering his arms as well. He whistled softly, moving into the kitchen and shuffling around, glancing at Silvana as he passed.

Speak of the devil and he will come. Silvana watched Balto moving around for a moment, surprised that he was whistling, even cheerfully. She weighed over talking to him in her mind... But after a while the curiosity peaked and she decided to give it a shot. He never talked, so she'd figured he was mute or at least really quiet. But... What the heck. "Balto, do you ever talk?" she called into the kitchen after him.

After a moment, Balto's unruly scrap of brown hair and face poked around the corner. "Of course." He answered, his accent clearly British, before he moved back into the kitchen, switching from whistling to humming.

Oh, good. That was a relief. Balto was not traumatized by vampires to the point that he acted like a real pet, completely and totally obedient and unable to form a coherent, intelligent thought of his own. Silvana staggered onto her feet, stumbling a bit, and moved awkwardly into the kitchen. She watched Balto moving around, doing something. "Are you hungry?" Silvana asked finally, rubbing her hands up and down her bare arms. "I made some soup, and tea. Though I'll have to reheat it for you, because it's gotten cold already." Truth be told, she was dying to talk to the mysterious man. She had about a thousand questions for him, now that she knew he could talk.

Balto glanced at her curiously, before opening the microwave and setting the coffee cup he'd filled with tea into it. In his other hand was a sandwhich, that the male bit into with relish. Once his mouth was clear, he shrugged. "Thank you, I helped myself to the tea. I'm afraid I'm not too fond of soup...You seemed to do well with Master Phayte."

Silvana grinned and nodded at Balto, leaning back against the kitchen counter and glancing up towards the ceiling before returning her gaze to the man. "Well, at least you liked one of the things I made, eh?" She thought about her interaction with Phayte. Well, he had listened to reason. But... Even though it was a triumph in some ways, she was not altogether sure of his overall opinion of her now. "I tried," she said with a shrug. "It's getting increasingly difficult, but simultaneously easier, as time goes by. But," she pointed out with a laugh. "Decidedly better than all of those bite marks you've got on you." She arched a brow. "Truth be told, I've been wanting to speak with you for a while now, but I haven't been able to with.. You know... Everything else going on."

The male copied her movement, lifting an eyebrow. "The Dvorak children are more difficult than most vampires. It's hard, living under their mother. She's neither kind nor forgiving." He offered the female a smile, taking another bite of his sandwhich. "And I love my marks. There a sign that Cynn wants me. I may be 'just a slave' to some people, but to her I'm the best friend she could have. When she passes puberty, I'll be her lover and confident. When she becomes Queen, I'll be her advisor. If I'm still around for those events." He gave a small shrug, polishing off the sandwhich and grabbing the tea from the microwave.

"What were you wishing to ask about, then, Mistress Silvana?"

"Well, then," Silvana said with a grin. "It seems I misinterpreted your situation with her. Forgive me for that." She thought about what she wanted to ask the man, at least glad that the young man seemed happy with where he was, up to a point. And when Cynn grew up, he would be at a good place with her, it seemed, toegther with her like he wanted to be. Then again, there was the question of whether or not he had ever known any different than his current life. If he'd been born in captivity and chosen by Cynn, well... Who knew. That's what she could ask him about. "You can call me Silvana," she said, sheepishly. "Or just Sil for short. I feel weird getting called that by someone like me..." She reached back and rubbed the back of her neck. "How did you get involved in all of this, Balto, if you don't mind my asking?"

The male grinned, glancing at her over the mug. "You want to know if I 'know any other life'? I've heard the speil from many made vampires. Yes, I was born into this, however, I see you all, I know how it is for you. True, I'm not happy with everything. But are you happy with everything in your life?"

Balto tapped his head, setting the cup down gently. "Cynn is special to me, and even if I had the choice, I wouldn't leave her side. With that in mind, does it matter if I was born into it or not?"

"It doesn't matter to me if you were born into it or not," Silvana admitted. "As long as you are happy, Balto. Nothing can be expected to be perfect all the time, if you get my meaning." She sighed deeply, shaking her head. "I mean, look what's happening to me right now? I got involved in this, and now I don't want to leave. Things used to be a lot easier. I mean, earlier in the afternoon..." She leaned in, confidentially, and whispered, "I signed up for kickboxing and jujutsu!" She waved her hand, as though dismissing the idea. "I am going to get through this thing if it kills me. It may, okay. But I guess I consider it worth the trouble. I'm really, really worried about Zadist right now, though... I want to see him again so badly." The girl frowned, her brows creasing. "I mean, I don't even know what happened in the club earlier, what's going on... Nothing."

"Well..." The slave hesitated, before sighing. "I wouldn't worry too much about Zadist. He's either passed out from the punishment, or it's not something too terrible. Considering there wouldn't be anyone to dish it out to him. The party you were brought to was a rare one. Humans, born vampires, and made vampires, all together. Didn't you wonder why your drink wasn't blood?" He shrugged, "Lillith got wind of it, and decided to crash. If you'd be caught..." Balto shrugged once more, continuing slowly. "If you are wishing to see him, I could see if Mistress Cynn is still awake. I doubt Mistress Lillith is even at the Manor..."

Silvana's heart started to race. Would it be a good idea to see Zadist right now, if it were possible? She was dying to, but she did not think he would want to look at her after suffering. He would need some time apart, to get over what being with her had done to him. But still... She... Silvana needed to see if Zadist was okay... Desperately. "Do you think he would want to see me right now?" Silvana asked, clasping her hands together. "If it's possible, I would love to go... I want to see if he's all right. But... I don't want to upset him, by him seeing me..." Silvana lowered her eyes.

Balto shrugged. "I don't know what's been done, but why wouldn't he wish to see you?" He stood, moving out of the room. Moments later, a groggy Cynn was lead into the kitchen, latched unto Balto's arm, drinking happily.

Once they stopped, and Cynn released the male, she glared at Silvana for a moment. "You owe me. I was taking a nap!" The drinks clearly hadn't gone out of her system just yet, and she staggered out to Zadist's car, shoving a key into Balto's hand.

The male moved out the door, slipping into the passanger seat and waiting patinetly for Silvana.

"Sorry," Silvana apologized to Cynn quietly, but was inwardly overjoyed and grateful. She could not shake the feeling, however, that their actions might not be the smartest... Not telling Phayte where they were going, or anyone else. It was like she was walking straight into the wasp nest or something. What if she got captured by Lillith's goons while trying to sneak into the manor? Or worse, what if Lillith herself was actually there, keeping Zadist under strict surveillance, or at least with someone to inform her if he tried to leave or someone came for him?

Still, Silvana needed to see his face too much. So she stepped into the car, strapping herself in. Her wide eyes were set intently on the road. "Okay, let's blow this joint," she said strangely, in an Italian mafia accent. Silvana could never stay serious for long.
