((Freaking forever. I'm a nightowl. Tonight, probably till 2 or 3am. Right now it is 11:15pm. ))
It made sense to Silvana that turned vampires would be annoying like regular humans. Humans liked to wage wars and fight amongst themselves. A turned vampire would be like... A human with superpowers, right? And definitely not the sort of person you wanted to run into, if they were mean enough. And if "noble-blooded" vampires (she thought it best to refer to Zadist's variety like that) were trying to stamp out the changed ones, then maybe they spread like a plague... Completely out of control. Sounded stressful. And it relieved the girl, in a sense, because it meant that she would never have to become a vampire herself, just to be made to follow Zadist around for the rest of eternity. Not that he liked her enough for that, anyway. But it still made her feel better. Silvana squeaked when she was lifted into the male's arms, then transferred to his back and carried up the wall. It was like she'd met Spider Man or something! Could life get any stranger? Here she'd been trying to make her own life interesting for the past fifteen years or so, and now her daydreams had turned into reality! Zadist opened her window with no trouble, helping her inside. The room was dark and cluttered. The walls were covered with posters of all sorts of funny and strange things, as well as photographs from family trips and vacations, and moments with friends while attending various schools. Her clothing was littered all over the floor, and her bed completely unmade. She had discarded trash and doodles crumpled up and scattered everywhere. Mostly, her room just looked like a tornado victim... "Uhm, if you want," Silvana muttered, blushing. "My room looks like a disaster zone. It's sort of embarrassing." After a thought, she added, "And don't go through my underwear drawer! Please." |
(Sadness. I see.) Zadist was eying the mess from outside the window, smiling softly. After a moment, he shook his head. "Don't be embarrassed of how you are, sweetness. I like it. And we'll see about the drawer." The vampire glanced at his feet, perched outside of the window, then to Silvana pointedly. "Some things in the novels and shows are correct..." |
(( Why sadness? ;.; ))
Silvana held a hand over her mouth, nodding. The super strength she'd expected. The ability to count a huge number of objects by glancing at them? Not so much. And climbing walls with the finesse of a ninja? Silvana had definitely not expected that. As she stood in her room awkwardly, around the mess, she wondered if she needed to invite the vampire in. Was it true they could not go inside without permission? It seemed silly. But she had no idea, honestly, so she chanced the question with her ignorance as an excuse. "Am I supposed to invite you inside?" The girl chewed on her lower lip, running around and picking up things, and then shoving them into her closet (which had a giant pile of stuffed animals inside of it). Closing the door, she turned, leaning back on it, and said, "Okay, you can come in. If you want to, that is." Silvana's cheeks colored. |
(That's not long at all!) Zadist hadn't responded, other than a wide grin. As the woman rushed around, shoving things away, Zadist chuckled. "I can see in the dark and through windows." He told her, amusement in his voice. After she spoke, he still remained outside, shaking his head. "That's not an invitation, Silvana. Residential homes are easier for made vampires to get into, not so much for born ones..." |
((Hey, that's like 5 hours from now! XD ))
So it was true? Silvana gaped at him. So what would happen if she started flinging holy water and garlic at him? So many questions to interrogate him with, and so little time! But she needed to take advantage of it as long as he stayed with her. The caffeine from her coffee shake was making her feel more lethargic, but her desire to keep Zadist around as long as possible one-upped her physical necessities. The girl moved over to the window, hesitating. How was she supposed to invite him in, if saying, "You can come in" was not good enough. "What should I say?" Silvana asked, looking around frantically as though the answer would pop out at her from around the room... Through the revelation of a random object she owned. "I want you to come in." |
(And that seems long? XP) Zadist grinned, swooping inside and pecking her lightly on the lips. "That works, love. It can't be an 'If I wish'. You need to want it for, or say you do, for us to enter." As he spoke, Zadist moved away from her, poking her bed before peeking under it. He moved to the closest next, letting out a tiny yelp as multiple stuffed animals and various items began pelting him. He moved quickly away, frowning at the closet and glancing at Silvana, as if asking if there would be any more surprises. After moving around the room, Zadist finally did make it to the dresser. Curious now, he opened the top drawer, peeking in and lifting a few items out, holding them to Silvana's form and declaring which he liked the most. Suprisingly, he seemed to pick various boy shorts and plain colored items the most. |
((Well... XD OFFICIALLY it's a long time. I know it goes by fast when rping, though.))
How bizarre. Vampires could not come in unless a person said they wanted them to. Silvana would have thought, originally, that it would be impractical for a vampire to be limited by that. If a person ran into their house, they could escape the vampire's grasp... At least until the person came out again. Or, until an unsuspecting member of the household let the vampire in without realizing what they were. And, then again, if a person gazed into the vampire's eyes, they could manipulate them to do their bidding... They could say, 'Silvana, tell me you want me to come in', and Silvana would respond robotically, 'I want you to come in'. And then the vampire would come in and do whatsoever they chose. She also suspected that once invited into the house, the vampire could come and go at their own accord. Silvana wanted to ask Zadist all these things, if she had guessed correctly. But she did not want to annoy him. Still, the girl was mortified when he opened her closet and saw all the stuffed animals. And even more so when, against her wishes, he'd started rifling through her undergarments. Even worse, he held them up in the air, in front of her, as though weighing each over in his mind. Silvana was not about to start wearing all the bras and panties he liked, just because he said so! It was odd he liked the plain ones, though, after all the loose women he'd gone after before. "Hey, I told you not to look in there!" she cried, evidently flustered. "Put my underwear down before I throw garlic at you!" |
The vampire froze, turning to stare at her, tiny thong pink panties in his hand. "What? 0.0 HAHAHAHA!!! Go on, throw garlic at me..." Shaking his head, he continued his search, before moving unto bras, doing the same. Eventually, he was finished and closed the drawer. Zadist spoke softly, then, not looking at the female. "The first person I marked asked multiple questions. I'm actually suprised you aren't, And worried. I don't know how to make sure you understand all this, but you aren't asking anything. You're...making it...." He seemed to struggle with the words, glancing at her briefly. "Hard, on me.." |
Silvana turned bright red, glancing down at the thong he was holding. "HEY, I don't wear that crap! My friends gave it to me for my birthday as a joke! They are uncomfortable and don't cover nearly enough..." And when he laughed at her for mentioning the garlic, the nineteen-year-old sat down on her bed in dismay, drinking about half of her caffeinated beverage in one go. She clutched her head a moment after that, as the consequence of doing so was a rather intense brain freeze. Though, the caffeine had seemed to clear up her migraine fairly well. She could now move around without her head aching in protest.
Silvana wondered, though, why Zadist wanted her to ask him questions. And she did not want to hear about "the first person he marked". There he was, comparing her to someone else! It was what she wanted to avoid thinking about; that there had been other people with whom he could contrast Silvana with. "I want to ask questions," she mumbled, looking cross. "But I don't want to pester you. And I'm not 'the first person you marked', I'm me. So obviously I'm not going to act the same way." |
At her comment, Zadist's head jerked up, the male glaring at her. "You'd better not. Or I'll kill you myself." His fangs were back, his eyes that strange silver tint once more. He took a few moments, staring down at the dresser before answering, shaking his head. "Je mi to líto. It still....anyway. I'm telling you I want your questions. It's not bothersome at all..." He moved to the bed, cupping her chin gently, touching her forehead, his fingers cold. "What's wrong?" |
Silvana had not expected that reaction from him! She recoiled a little, quickly averting her eyes. She felt a surge of fear again, a trace of what she had felt earlier in the evening when he'd first apprehended her. After she had succeeded in dissuading him from murdering Lucy. It all seemed so far off now, but she was reminded that this was not a man (vampire) to be trifled with. And some things set him off and made him angry. One wrong word and he could become that killer again, as he just said. He would kill her himself, if she acted like... What? What exactly had the previous person done? Well, Silvana did not care. Her stomach twisted into nervous knots, even as the man sat beside her. She felt the blankets tug under his weight, his hand on her forehead.
Zadist spoke in a language she did not understand, but she hoped it had been an apology for the sudden hostility. Still, Silvana remained on edge, careful with what she said after that. She still did not want to die, or get hurt. She had no reason to trust Zadist, even if he was acting nicer with her than before. "Nothing," she mumbled. "When you drink a frozen beverage too fast, your brain feels cold. It's called a 'brain freeze'. I just got one." She did not know what to ask him now, her mood soured a bit. "Why can't you come in unless asked? What's wrong with sunlight? I thought the movie 'Nosferatu' made it up. Surely you do not burst into flames." What else... "How does garlic and holy water affect you?" |
(Sorry. Forgot to translate. Yes, it was an apology!) Zadist frowned, not liking the change in her demenor. Gently, her moved back on the bed, tugging her into his lap and nuzzling her gently. "How do you make this 'brain freeze' go away? Let's see, garlic does nothing, though I don't want to drink from someone who eats too much of it. Holy water, well it depends. If it was blessed by a sinless priest it will burn us. So, most likely, nothing. We fall asleep very easily in the daytime. We can walk outside, though we do burn quickly. It's simply hard for us to stay awake. I suppose since humans aren't nocturnal, that's why most made vampires can. We aren't sure, but I believe we can't enter a residence as a defense mechanism for humans. Predator and prey. And there is no way to defend yourselves, so something about your home makes it hard to enter. I could enter, without an invitation, but I would be in pain the entire time. I've had to do it before. And yes, we can see our reflections..." Zadist grinned, rocking her gently, "Before you ask that. Anything else, sweetness?" |
Silvana felt somewhat better on Zadist's lap. Less intimidated, anyway. She leaned into his nuzzles, then buried her face against his shoulder. His skin was cool... Not so cold, like they said, but cool. It felt nice, considering how warm it was in her room. She really needed to turn a fan on or something, the summer air was killer! After a time, she raised her head and looked into the vampire's face. In the darkness, with only the moonlight filtering in, it was strangely white. And his pale, longish hair, like a halo around his head, added to that effect. The only thing taking away from it was his startlingly jade eyes. Regular humans could never hope to have eyes that green. And Silvana envied the vampire's perfect complexion, among other things. It made sense that he would need to be attractive to humans, to lure them in. She compared it to... And angler fish. Or a lantern fish, with the light, that brought unsuspecting victims towards it until a giant pair of toothy jaws closed around the smaller animal and devoured it.
"You know what I find annoying about vampires?" Silvana bemoaned. "How gorgeous you are. I mean, look at your hair and your skin and... I bet you don't have to do freaking anything. You know, I spend like an hour on my hair every morning. I straighten it and comb it... And I have to brush my teeth, and pluck my eyebrows...." The girl ranted about her morning routine for a while, lamenting how hard her job was as a human female to be attractive. |
Zadist blinked and listened for a bit, chuckling. Finally, he covered Silvana's mouth with his hand. "Female vampires do as much as you. Sometimes more. Silvana...I need to go now. Someone will be outside shortly. They will guard you, alright? I need to...do something, and meet the other fighters back at my apartment." He lifted her off of him, moving to the desk and using a bit of paper. He returned, pushing it into her hand. "Here. My phone number. Even if it's daylight, call me if you need me. I'll see you tomorrow night, alright?" |
There it was. The exiting statement. Silvana wanted to physically hold the vampire there so he would not leave. She even contemplated seducing Zadist, to distract him from going, and then dirty her own innocent, virginal bed with whatever happened after that. But the girl had no idea how to go about doing that, so she did not even make an effort to do so, as it would surely only result in the vampire laughing at her, patting her on the head, and leaving anyway. "But I don't want you to go," Silvana pouted. Indeed, she felt moisture in the corner of her eyes, strangely. She had been so intent on keeping from getting emotional when the man did decide to leave her, never to be seen again. But now, when faced with the prospect, she desperately wanted to stop him. Yet she knew she could not. She did not have the sway or physical strength to hold him there.
She was comforted by the offering of the paper, but Silvana was half certain it was a false number that would not work. And, she was too shy to call him anyway, for fear of disturbing him or the possibility of another vampire she did not know picking up the phone instead. "What if I want to call you, just to talk?" she chanced, biting her lower lip. "Does that constitute 'needing' you, or is this only for emergency usage?" |
Zadist had seemed to rethink something, and dug in her pocket, pulling out her cell phone. He entered his number quickly, pressing call. Avenged Sevenfold blared through the room: A song called A little piece of heaven, before Zadist quickly hung up. "There, now you don't need the paper. And what do you mean, to talk?" He hesitated slightly, eying her with a frown. "You call me whenever you want or need to. If I don't answer, I'm either too deep asleep or fighting. Or...Uh. Anyway. Silvana, I must go. I...have a lot of needs. And I doubt your body could stand up to them." That was as close as he'd admit that he'd be locating another woman before making his way home. "And in a few hours, my entire group will be there. I can't just leave them." Zadist explained patiently, holding his arms out to her, "Laska, it's only for a bit, I promise you...I'll be here tomorrow, alright?" It was strange, her asking him to stay. Certainly nothing he'd expected. |
At first, Silvana inwardly rejoiced that the number he'd given to her was real and actually his. It gave her some hope that after tonight, whatever he'd promised his brother Phayte, that he might actually pursue spending time with her. Don't be taken in, her mind reminded her, This could all be a very elaborate ploy. It could be. Vampires were probably practiced at severing ties with people and used toys they wanted to discard. After today, he could very well never come back. Silvana would know after tomorrow night what the vampire wanted from her. Whether it be nothing... Or... Well, something. She was sickened suddenly, however, at the mention of the other needs she could not fulfill. Well, there you have it, her mind continued. The vampire said he wasn't going to change for you. One night with you does not make him a one-woman vampire. He'd starve. And besides which, he'd probably be using and killing the next one. A wave of nausea passed through her, but she swallowed it down, telling herself that she could become hysterical the moment Zadist left.
Silvana hesitated, but stepped into the man's arms. She was not altogether sure what more to say or do, except to hope his promises meant something and that he would be back. And that... He... Would not forget her after being with another woman tonight. No, don't think about that, she told herself, her eyes watering a bit. "Good night, Zadist" she croaked, her voice very faint and heavy with...An indescribable sentiment. Because the nerdy college girl could hardly place it herself--except that it was mix between disappointment, hopelessness, anxiety, and jealousy. |
Zadist had nuzzled his mate's hair gently, though when she spoke, his pulled away, holding her arms and glancing down at her. After a moment, he gave a tiny sigh, letting go. He turned, moving away from her, his cell phone out once more. He spoke quickly into it, glancing back at Silvana. "Phayte. Mám nějaké problémy s sbohem. Můžete zpracovat vše, co tam?" (Phayte. I'm having some trouble with the goodbye. You can handle everything there?) "To je dobře. Jo, já vím. Nebojte se, nebudu. Jo. Ne poradku. Uvidíme se, bratře."(Good. Yeah, I know. Don't worry, I won't. Yeah. No. Alright. See you, brother.) He shut the phone with a tiny click, sliding it back into his pocket and rubbing his temple. After a moment, he turned back to Silvana. "I, uh, still need to go out, laska...I didn't feed tonight, other than what little I took from you...I'll be back in a hal-" He hesitated, thinking of the other needs he'd need fulfilled, if he wasn't to come back and ravage the poor girl. "And hour, alright? One hour, that's it..." |
"Okay," Silvana squeaked, not sure how she should feel about the change of plans. Was she successfully making the vampire rapist serial killer guilty about leaving her alone? Maybe her cutesy nerdtastic face had more power over vampires than she initially thought! Though her insides were still seething thinking about having to share him with prostitutes and strippers because if he did everything he wanted to her, she would already be dead or in a coma. Not if I was Wonder Woman, she thought. Then he could do all that, and then some, because I would be a superhero! Yup yup. But unfortunately, Silvana was Silvana, and just barely not a virgin, and still very much a geek that enjoyed old episodes of Star Trek. Besides which, she was having a terrible time keeping her composure. The moment he left she could start tearing her pillows to shreds and throwing up in the bathroom from a caffeine/sugar overdose coupled with the horrifying images of what Zadist would do to his next victim.
If Zadist was a sadist, Silvana was a masochist. She was clearing putting herself through torture, warming up to someone who could as easily of rammed her repeatedly into a brick wall until she died. That would have been epic, actually. Imagine being able to lift someone and repeatedly hit them against a wall. Not as cool as Zeus smiting Typhos by bashing him over the head with a mountain. But it was close enough! "I'll....be...here," Silvana said, through a forced grin. If it had been a scene from anime, she would have had a bead of sweat on her face. |
Zadist viewed her for a few moments, before sighing. He shoved his hands into his pockets, biting his bottom lip before speaking. "But. You still aren't happy...Silvana...It was very hard to control myself when you were in my bed, but that one little romp did nothing but tease me. I...need more, along with more blood. I can't take more blood from you, you will die. And I don't know if I could control myself if we were to...do that again. This is confusing. Speak your mind and tell me what you wish from me..." His accent had deepened somewhat, become a bit more noticable. |
What could Silvana say? She knew all of those things, which was why she was not complaining. It was not nearly the same as having a new, human boyfriend. Who she could hit over the head with a frying pan when he cheated on her. Zadist had much more to satiate that just... Cuddling and kisses and the occasional roll in bed. Silvana just had to go for the violent, perverted ones, didn't she? She could have run into a nice vampire, who lightly sipped from women and treated their bodies like glass. But nooo, she had to go for the wild, sadistic crazy ones, that terrorized people in dark alleys and cackled maniacally when they tore them to shreds. ...Instead of being upset by the imagery, she started to snort and laugh at herself again... She imagined a little Zadist stomping through a city and breathing fire on people. "Pbbbbbfttt, sorry sorry sorry!" Silvana apologized quickly, covering her face with her hands and shaking in silent laughter. She was so...Freaking...insane.
"You can go," she said, after she managed to rein her mirth in somewhat. "I know you need to do it, and I'm hardly in any position to ask otherwise from you; we've only just been acquainted. By all means..." The girl gestured towards the window, nodding to show she was all right. She knew what he needed to do, and as long as the vampire did it miles away from her and never snapped her appendages into pieces or tore out her throat, she was fine. Silvana would just... Tiptoe downstairs and make some ramen on the stove and stuff her face to stay awake until he got back. She had Devdas... She could watch that. |
Zadist hesitated, before moving to her, kissing her hard. After a moment, though unsure why, he nuzzled her and spoke softly. "I don't look at them. I turn them around. I never kiss them, laska. They are just there to fulfill the needs I can't control. I'll be back." He moved quickly out her window. His car moved through the streets quickly, and Zadist quickly located an isolated female. One the car was parked, she was drug into an alley. The vampire hesitated only slightly before satisfying himself. Her body was dumped in a nearby trashcan brutally, the male wiping his mouth and moving back to his car. A quick glance to the clock informed him he'd only been gone forty five minutes, and it was a short drive back to her house. He hesitated outside, frowning. Would the human welcome him back, knowing what Zadist had been doing? He moved back to her room, climbing up swiftly to look around. |
When Zadist got into the room, he would have found a series of signs taped on the window sill, on the closet door, and finally the door leading to the hallway. They were written in extremely girly, colorful lettering. They read:
This way! (Don't worry about the parents--they are heavy sleepers, and completely OUT! <3 ) <----------- With little arrows pointing to the direction that he needed to follow. The signs lined the walls, and finally lead downstairs to the living room and kitchen, which were connected. Silvana was sitting on the sofa with a large bowl of Beef Nissin Ramen, slurping up noodles and watching a movie on her flatscreen TV. The movie was Devdas, of course . It had people in colorful costumes dancing around; she'd only just managed to start it, as the vampire had apparently not been gone as long as she'd predicted. And so it was on the song sequence Silsila Ye Chahatka (her favorite in the entire movie). But still, the girl was proud of her crazy little scavenger hunt that she'd made up for him. All it took was a quick scribble on a blank piece of paper, and copying it about twenty times on her dad's copier in the library. |
Zadist had blinked, following the papers slowly. Though he wouldn't admit it, he also did an entire sweep of the upstairs, even sulking to her parents to eye them as they slept. Need to know who you shouldn't kill, after all. He did make it downstairs soon, though, sliding next to Silvana on the couch. Not paying much attention to the moving , he nuzzled the back of her neck, purring softly. "I missed you..." He muttered after a few moments. |
"There you are," Silvana giggled, coughing as some of the noodles hanging from her mouth fell back into the bowl. "That was really fast!" She held the bowl with one hand, using the other to dramatically pat the empty spot next to her on the sofa. It felt much like earlier that night, when he had urged her to sit next to him rather than the floor during Mulan. It was also nice of him, she thought, to say he'd missed her... Even if the girl was not entirely sure if he was serious about it. "You're in time for my favorite song in my second favorite movie," she continued, lifting the remote and turning the volume down a little bit. That way Silvana could talk to the vampire without having to raise her voice so much. It was not like he could not listen to the song or read the words... Something told her Zadist's hearing and sight were spectacular amazing.
"I can't stay up for too much longer, though," Silvana lamented. Alas, it was true. She needed to get some sleep for school. Why she and her friends had gone to a club on Sunday night was beyond her. Of course, she had not expected to run into a vampire, either, and delay her bedtime. |
