Layola is the most beautiful girl on earth.....Every man in the kingdom have their eyes on her, They long for her to be their wife.

Vladimir rode on a large black stead heading towards the castle in which his king and his beautiful daughter resided in. He was a well built strong and very hansom middle aged man. He rode hard seeing as at the castle his reward awaited. He had already gotten word back from the king that when Vladimir arrived he would be greeted by the young princess and they where to be wed the next day. A young wife was just what the general needed to settle back into life in the kingdom. The campaign he had led had one and now he was going to take what was his. He knew the girl was stubborn and disliked the idea and in truth he didn't give a rats. She was his as of tomorrow evening and that was all that mattered to him. IT was arranged by himself and her father as were all marriages of this day and age. It was nothing new and it was well practiced.

Layola sat at the window of her bedroom. She was upset that she had to marry Vladimir tomorrow. She knew he loved her but she did not love him. " Why must I marry a man whom which means nothing to me?". Her hand maid lilly looked at her. " But he is a kind hearted wealthy man any woman would be lucky to be his wife my lady" Layola looked at her " But I do not love him ....the rest doesn't matter to me"

Vladimir made it to the castle and dismounted. He walked in with a tall look taking off his helmet and handing it to a squire before entering the thrown room. He bowed and looked at his king. "Your majesty, I have returned and I bring you the sword of your enemy. You now rule twice the amount of land. I also bring servants and the lords and ladies of the court. I assure you all is finished. They surrendered their land and it is now for your use." He said with a smirk. "All the riches of their land are now yours." He added before raising.

The Queen went up to her daughter's room. " Lord Vladimir is here won't you come done and grace him with you beauty dear?"
Layola opened the door slowly " Sorry mother I do not wish to see him please tell him to find another woman to marry." The Queen began to get mad " I will do no such thing.....He loves you madly and you wish to treat him this way? That is undetectable! Come out right now Layola" Layola frowned " Sorry mother but no"

The king smiled. "Well done! No one but you could pull it off. I'm impressed by how quickly this happened, I expected four years you did it in three. I love it." He said raising up. "I fear however my daughter has been quiet stubborn about this whole thing and I know not how to get her out of her room. The queen is trying now. If it comes to it she will come to her wedding with the assitance of guards. I apologies for this General Black." He said with a sigh.

Vladimir smiled. "It is quiet alright, I feared she would be this way. Should it come to it though...make sure they're well dressed." He said laughing some with the king laughing also. "If she will not come down my I go up?" He questioned.

"Let's hear from the queen first. Then I'll give you the answer to that. If it is bad, you may if she comes with her mother. Well no need." He said with a grin. The king was a round jolley sort of fellow who looked upon Vladimir Black as his son in-law already. His daughter would quickly learn to obey the General and him or pay the consiquences.

The Queen looked at the daughter. " Please come down dear child of mind I beg of you" Layola looked at her " Mother my answer is no! I rather die then marry him send me away to a convent kill me if you wish but Lord Vladimir black's wife I shall not become!!!!" Layola made sure it was loud enough to be herd all over the huge castle. The Queen looked at her daughter " I know what you feel I felt the same way with your father but we do not have a choice......I am so sorry" The Queen walked down stairs. She entered the thrown room. " Hello Lord Black I am sorry But my daughter is ......head strong" Meanwhile Layola was sitting in her room angry she wanted to kill her self.

The king sighed and rubbed his neck smiling some at her wife. "General if it would please you, you may go up." He said simply patting his wife's back lightly. "I kind of knew that was going to happen." He stated simply with a frown.

Vladimir sighed hearing the yell and then being told to go up. He pulled a small crystal rose out of his armor and headed up the stairs. He knocked on the door before entering. He motioned and the chamber maid left. He walked over bowing lightly. "Princess..." He said simply walking over and taking her hand kissing it lightly, knowing she wouldn't like it. He then held it just tight enough that she couldn't pull away and placed the rose in it. "A gift, for a beautiful woman and my fiance." He said making it clear she wasn't getting out of it. Letting her hand go he looked down at her intimidatingly.

Layola set the rose down on her night stand. " Fiance.........not by choice doesn't that bother you that every other woman in this country wants to be with you except me the one you want to be with......I find it sad and very foolish of you....lord......lord..ummmm Lord Vladimir" Layola had forgotten his name for a moment that made her laugh on the inside.
" Don't be foolish and marry another woman.....not me." LAyola picked up the rose and handed it back to him. " I strong and deeply decline your offer of marriage." Layola looked back at him with strong intimidating eyes.

The Queen looked at her husband. " What if this is a mistake I mean she is still just a child......She is our only child .....why don't we just send her to the convent like she wishes being a nun is her dream grant it for her " The Queen looked at the king hoping he would think about it.

Vladimir chuckled when she forgot his name. "I am deeply sorry that you can't bring yourself to care for me like I do for you, Princess, but you have been promised to me by your father, its not your choice." He sat the rose back down on her nightstand. "It does bother me that you do not care for me. However it will come in time." He said leaning forward one hand on the bottom corner of her chair and the other at the top pinning her there. "I assure you it will come in time, sooner or latter the fight and will, you hold so strongly will break, and when it does, I'll be there to care for you and you for me. Till then..." He reached up running his hand down the side of her face. "Things might be a little rough." He warned her lightly standing straight again.


The king sighed and looked at his wife. "I respect you as much as any other man but I promised General any prize he wished, and he wished for our daughter. She is perfect marrying age, you were her age when you and I were wed. Besides I gave my word that she would marry him and so she will not be a nun but a wife. And should god wish a mother. There is nothing I can do now. Not unless you can talk the General out of it." He stated simply. "Besides, I would want no other man to marry my only daughter." He said sternly.

" But she is no prize she is our living breathing child......you know he will not listen to me.......only you. I am begging you as your wife and Queen and as your best friend.....Do not ruin our only child's life" The Queen walked away from the king with tears in her eyes.

The princess pulled away from his grasp "I will kill myself before I dare to care for a man like you. All you care about is your self and yourself alone.....I feel sorry for you.......Please do me the favor of leaving my bed chamber Lord Vladimir and do me the honor of never ever coming back." Layola folded her arms across her chest in an angry manner as she glared at him in dislike.

Vladimir tightened his fist lightly but he bowed politely. "As you wish. I will see you again tomorrow." He said simply his face didn't look angry but pained. The general walked out of the chamber and it was shut behind him. Sighing he walked down to the thrown room bowing to the queen on his way. He bowed to the king stating simply. "I will not stay in the castle this evening. I will see you in the dawn of tomorrow." He said simply walking off.


The king was furious. "You want me to take back my word!" He hissed. "You want our family line to end?!" He shouted but stopped when Vladimir came through. He was angry and then more so when he heard what Vladimir said. So his beloved, Layola had been just as stubborn as ever. Tightening his fist he walked past his wife in a rush not cairing he would of given her smack or two but he had bigger fish to fry. He opened the doors to his daughter's chambers. His face red. "Layola what did you do?! MY general just walked out of the castle when you are to be wed tomorrow!" He said his voice louder than anything else she'd probably ever heard. He had never been this angry, not once in her entire life.

" Kill me father I rather die then marry him. To be his wife would be my nightmare coming true......He lies when he says that he loves me. He is probably after your crown father. Please father there 100s of woman in our country let him wed one of them.
Do not make me suffer when I have done nothing to you .................My whole life I have never asked for anything this once grant me my one and only wish."

The Queen began to cry her heart was broken to see her one and only child in so much pain. " Listen to your daughter please......isn't she more important then Vladimir ?"

The king would hear no more. His face red. "You will marry Vladimir and that is the end of it. You will do it with a high head and you will do it tomorrow. If I have to force you I swear you'll be in so much pain you'll wish you were with him already!" He shouted. He had never heard so much argument from his wife and before he thought his hand hit her face. "That is enough! I have said it once and I will say it once more! If you want so badly for this to end figure out a way to do it yourself! I ow this man my kingdom and he will have my crown when this is over." He turned to his daughter again. "You will marry the General and you will have at least one child with him by the end of the second year you are with him! If not then you will be disowned! You will no longer be princess, hell you won't even be a commoner if Vladimir wishes. You are not to leave your room. And you!" He pointed to his wife. "Are not allowed to see her." He said and as he did the guards walked in and took the Queen out of the room. He walked out and the doors where locked. Layola would hear the guards taking post and crossing spears so no one could come in and no one out. Down below guards waited in case she tried to sneak out.

Layola could not believe her father had hit her mother. " Hate you father! I am no longer your daughter disown me keep your worthless money I do not wish for it........Take your crown and do as you wish with it ! " Layola grabbed her crown and ripped it off her own head threw it on the ground and began to stomp on it. " I will die before I bare him a child ...........I will kill my self I swear it!" Layola began to throw things around her room completely. " You are the most worthless father on earth I rather die of hunger.........make me a poor commoner I will be much happier then here with you!!!!"

The Queen Broke free of the guards and smacked her husband back in the face " I hope you die soon so I never have to see you again....marrying you was the biggest mistake of my life........I will never and have never loved you" The Queen held her head up high " Hit me again if you like but I will never care for you ever !!!!"

The king ignored his daughter and looked at his wife. "Very well if your just like your daughter than tomorrow after the wedding you will let her watch you get beheaded. Its truely your choice." said looking at her. "She can have a mother to sympathize or she can have nightmares of your death for the rest of her life. I don't really care at this point." He said looking at the guards. "Take her up to the tower on the west side. You squire tell the kitchen maids to clean up there will be no supper for any of us tonight. Tell everyone else to eat what they will." He said walking off as the guards grabbed the queen this time lifting her up so she couldn't get free.

" When did you become so cold...Alexander.......you were once much kinder from what I can remember" With that the queen no longer struggled she let the guards take her away. A tear ran down the queens face and splashed on the castle floor.

Layola eventually became quite. She did not sleep she stayed on her knees the whole night praying to God . " God I promise if I do not have to marry this man....I will go to church everyday of my life......I will be the best person I can be. God if you make me marry him make my life be short because I want to be with you......I want to be a nun. I want to help the poor and give them hope. " Layola cried and cried she beat her self over and over as sacrifice to God She covered her legs and arms and stomach in bruises. " If only I could have been happy......" Layola passed out eventually

The king sighed and watched his wife leave. He walked into his bed chambers and looked over his kingdom. He paced before sighing sending a squire to fetch Vladimir. He needed to talk to him, if he could he'd stop this. He looked at his hand and looked down. He had promised never to hit his wife and yet he had. He had always looked forward to his daughter becoming a nun and now he'd ordered her to bare his general a child. It was an hour or so before Vladimir walked into the king's chambers. "Vladimir my daughter is adimit about not marring you, as is my wife..." He started but stopped. "If I offer you anything else your heart desires will you leave my daughter to become a nun?" He asked knowing the answer.

"You highness, you gave me your word she'd be my wife." Vladimir pointed out. Listening. "NO the only thing I want is your daughter's hand and a family of my own." He stated looking at the king.

"Damit I know what I did but..." The king sighed and rubbed his head. "I had to lock her in her room, she's probably trying to jump out her window. This will not be a happy mairrage and she is still young." He said softly. "Maybe in another year she'll be ready." He suggested hoping the general would understand.

"Another year? Your highness forgive me for being so bold but I fought for three years to win you land so I could have your daughter, I secured your crown and now you are telling me to wait another year?!" He asked getting angry he was loud enough to wake the castle

Layola asked the guards to accompany her to her father's room. She entered the room she was covered in bruises and her hands were bleeding. She had her crown in one hand it was covered in blood but she handed it to her father anyway " I no longer want to be a princess. King Alexander..." She refused to call him father. She looked at Vladimir and held out her bloody hand " What's wrong Lord Vladimir you wont kiss my bloody why are you so shocked to see me like this...aren't you going to beat me once I am forced to marry you?" Layola looked at him she looked weak but still strong.

The king took the crown and sighed looking at Vladimir. He stood tall and took the girls hand kissing it none the less. "Princess." He said simply at first then looked at her. "I have no intention to beat you, that you made up in your mind. I'll find another way to break you." He said thinking now. "Tell me you do intend to wear gloves tomorrow you do look ghastly." He stated simply.

"For gods sake Vladimir she beat herself!" The king shouted but then stopped looking at Vladimir. "Please at least another year." He said begging now.

"Not another day," Vladimir said. "You promissed her hand, and set the date. Do not try and take it back. You sorry excuse for a man. You can't fight your own wars and now you can't keep your word." he said with an angry look in his eyes. "Your daughter will marry me tomorrow or so help me god...I'll burn every village in your kingdom and let her watch as poor, innocent people are killed." He said in a fit of rage. He had to big of a heart to do that to people but the threat was real for now. "Could your nun heart handle that?" He asked looking at the princess. "Should I lop off your father's head for a wedding present?" He asked.

Layola's eyes looked empty as she looked at her father. She spoke in a soft empty tone but her words were strong. " Father do you hear what this man says.........He is willing to kill innocent people.....children too......Children father beautiful, innocent , made perfect in God's image......Children......This is the monster I must marry because of you...." Layola turned to Vladimir " If I were a man......on second thought " She punched Vladimir straight in the face. She pushed him against the wall and continued to punch him ....." Come on kill me but leave my father and mother and everyone else alone......Why would you save this country for 3 years and then end up watching it burn......You lie you will beat me sooner or later.....you will....just like my father promised to never hit my mother he broke that promise to night ......." Layola stopped hitting him she had covered him with her own blood. she then turned to her father"...............I am worst then dead father ......I have died on the inside........that the worst way to die because you can no longer feel ........no happiness or joy.........emptiness is all there is...." Layola looked at them with empty beautiful eyes.

Seeing as Layola was a girl the hits didn't hurt and acctually made Vladimir laugh. "A bit over dramatic aren't you?" He asked. Seeing as the chamber maids where a sleep the General picked up the princess throwing her over his shoulder and walked off and trotted out to the stables. He dropped her in a long wooden thing holding water for the horses. Once she had hit the water and most the blood was off her he picked her back up and out before she could allow herself to drown and headed back in.

The king looked down and sighed simply. He quickly ran after the general when he took off with the princess and then sighed when he watched what happened. AT least he wasn't taking her. HE followed him back into the castle protesting. "Put her down! Vladimir I know what your thinking and I'm sorry that I am being so stubborn about this but my daughter is my only child." He sighed and looked at her. "He isn't a monster dear he's just...good at making people angry." HE stated simply as he watched Vladimir walk up to the tower the queen was in. Walking in he bowed and dropped the princess on the bed. "Oh boy..." He rubbed his head lightly. "My dear I didn't let him do that I told him to put her.." About that time Vladimir straightened his shirt and walked out.

Layola gave up hitting him she would never hit him again since it did nothing. she refused to look at she was so upset by him angry she was so filled with hate. " My father took back his word why don't you just take a piece of land and some money and leave me alone.....I wouldn't be a good wife at all........I swear" Layola told him.

The Queen looked at her daughter covered in bruises and began to cry deeply. " My dear child what happened to you?"

Layola hugged her mother " No man hit me.....I did this to myself...I swear"

Vladimir didn't listen."I'll see you all tomorrow." He stated simply walking off and out of the castle yet again.


The king sighed. "My dear wife I tried, I swear to god I tried. I took back my word I did I told him I begged him..." He looked down. "I am so sorry. I did not know it would end like this. Please my dear girls sleep and in the morning we will put on happy faces and we will go on with this. We have no choice anymore." He said softly his eyes deeply sorry.

" So you had a right to fall in love and get married you had the right to follow your heart and......I don't get to" Layola began to sob. " I will kill myself I swear it I will not bear him a child I rather die ....A slow and painful death." Layola hugged her mother.

The Queen looked at her husband with deep sorrow in her eyes. " Layola.....I am so very sorry.....If I knew you would go threw so much heart attack I would have sent you to the convent sooner.....Please forgive me my child please" The Queen placed her head on her daughter's lap she began to sob as well.

Layola wiped her tears. " I vow to die.......before he even tries to make me bare his child."
