"Well...since Léan and I are nearly identical, and he just hurt her feelings...I don't think she'll wnat to see me, either--I'll make it much worse," Archie reminded him, apologetically.

Monty wrinkled his nose slightly. "Ah. Probably. How about we both go??"

"Sure..." Archie didn't seem too enthusiastic about this, but he reluctantly led the way back to the cave, dipping down to peek in. "Emy...?"

Monty followed, sort of nervous, not wanting to see the reaction Emy had most deffinately had to Lean's anger.

Emy tensed when she heard Archie, not really realizing who it was. "What....do you want?" She asked softly.

"It's Archie," Archie explained, quietly--he hadn't thought to explain, even though he knew he sounded like his brother. "Are you okay...? I'm really sorry...I should have warned you...he...when he gets angry...he's awful...he gets that from our father..."

Emy shook her head slightly, just curling up more. "It's...ok....not your fault anyway..." Her voice shook slightly, but she still would not cry.

"...I think you should go talk to him, Emy. If he sees me or Monty, he's going to go off...but he'll listen to you, if you do whatever you can to calm him down. I know my dad was only calmed down after a rigorous session of hunting..." Archie mused.

Emy shook her head, slowly at first, then more confidently. "He doesn't want to be around me...I told him...I'd leave....if he ever went through with what he threatened."

"He's not going to hurt anyone...he's just pissed off, because he doesn't want anyone that close to me..." Archie replied, quietly. "He...it's not good for him to be alone while he's like this."

Emy looked back at him slowly, conflict clear on her face. Then she slowly took a breath and uncurled herself. "Fine....I'll go see him..." She knew this might actually make her cry, but she was going to do it anyway. She slowly moved to the mouth of the cave, nodded slightly to Archie and said something that sounded like 'thank you' before swimming off towards where she could sense Lean.

Léan was curled up at the end of the tiny coral reef, all the way on the other side of their territory. He had chased off a small shark in order to relax fully. He seemed like he'd calmed down just a bit.

Emy found him and stopped a couple feet away, looking slightly wary, tail flicking back and forth slightly. She didn't want him freaking out on her again.

Léan was too busy sulking and brooding to really notice her. Instead, he stayed curled up, occasionally reaching up to swat away a fish that was getting too comfortable around him.

Emy moved a little closer to him, wondering if she should speak or touch him. She went with speaking from a sage distance. "Lean..."

Léan lifted his head. It looked like he'd been crying...but his tears had dried up, and he seemed much, much better, now. "Yes...?"

Emy's eyes widened slightly when she'd figured out he'd been crying, she was instantly beside and had her arms wrapped around him. "I was coming...to check on you....I'm sorry..."

Léan rested his head on her shoulder slightly, eyes half-lidded. "Sorry for what?" Something about his tone was oddly calm. It was likely he was still quite upset.

Emy didn't move away from him, even knowing she could see that he could get mad again. "I'm sorry...for making you more angry. For...not agreeing with you...and...threatening to leave..." Even though she was completely serious about leaving if he killed Monty.

"I'm overprotective...that's not going to change. And I'm serious...there will be hell to pay if he hurts my brother." Léan was grumbling, of course...but he was serious.

Emy wasn't too comfortable with his reaction. "...I agree...I don't want him hurting your brother either....but killing him...isn't really an option...not in my mind."

Léan grunted. "I don't know how it works above water. But when it comes to nomadic merpeople, we do not have a justice system. Our justice system is in the hands of the alpha and the alpha alone."

Emy didn't like this answer, it unnerved her. "I can't...condone it." She didn't even like fighting, how much would murder affect her?

"You don't have to condone it. I'm just saying...if he hurts my brother, I'm not going to stand for it. I will never stand for it." Léan sounded dead serious.

Emy moved slightly, but didn't let go of him. "I'm sorry...I can sort of understand...if anyone had hurt my sister....I'd want to make them suffer...but I don't think I'd have the strength to kill them."

"You see, that is where we differ...I do have the strength...unfortunately the ability to be nasty and emotionless was passed onto me from my father. Arcturus is an angel, through and through...I...am not so lucky."

Léan closed his eyes, seeming like he was still irritated.
