Harry glanced at Draco and thought for a moment, which did sound like a pretty good idea, but wouldn’t that just set them off more? It wouldn’t scare them into backing off, if anything the whole thing would probably make them angry wouldn’t it? “Will that solve our problems though?” He asked. This wasn’t about getting revenge on them, it was about putting a stop to the crap they had been pulling the past few days, he had a feeling soon enough they were going to start coming after him as well, he was going to have to start being more careful.
“Don’t we kind of want to do something that will scare them, so they know we aren’t messing around and taking their crap anymore?” He asked. Although they could do that, and somehow mix in Draco’s idea, so they didn’t get in to much trouble, and the idea of doing it in the great hall, was a good idea, that way they would be able to do it to the whole house and get them to back off.

((Sorry I was away, I had serious food poisoning. Ugh. But I'm on antibiotics now, and it seems to be clearing up! Yay! Now, where were we...))
---
Draco was quite crestfallen that Harry hadn't immediately jumped on his plan, but tried not to show it. "I thought it was a pretty good way to get back at them," he said, with a bit of a pout. He looked away from Harry.
Why didn't Harry think it was a good idea? Why not just get back at them? Nothing they did would keep the Slytherins from going after him and Harry, or any of the other Gryffindors for that matter, so what was the point of doing something that just made them targets? He suppressed a sigh. Maybe he was still very much a Slytherin.
With that in mind, he said, "Maybe, but don't you realize how embarrassing it is for a Slytherin to be painted with Gryffindor colors?" He winced a bit, because that was exactly what had happened to him. "Doing it to the whole house is a serious business, and I think"—he was only slightly elaborating here, with wishful thinking—"it'll show Morgan and the others that we're not just letting them get away with stuff. But it's not so obvious that it'll cause things to escalate."

[[Ugh, that sounds horrible, but I'm glad you're doing better c:]]
"I'm sure I realize how embarrassing it would be, because if they did the opposite to us, it would be the same" He said. If the Slytherin's did something like that to them, they would be just as embarrassed and eventually want to get revenge on them for doing it to them. "I understand where you're coming from, but won't it just make things worse?" He asked.
They had always had a long feud going, hell it didn't even involve them and they all hated each other, doing something like this would probably just lead to retaliation, and it would keep going back and forth in till someone stopped it. "I think anything we do to them right now, will cause the problem to escalate, because there so pissed off" He said

((Yup, doing better, but now I'm swamped with schoolwork. I'll try to log on and post at least once a day, though I might not be around much else! :D))
---
"How could a simple prank make things worse between the two Houses?" Draco asked. "Things are already really bad between the two Houses. And I for one don't care if it does," he said stubbornly. He kept his eyes on the sheets in front of him, not willing to show Harry how upset he was that his idea hadn't caught on immediately.
"Anyway, if you don't like my idea, do you have one?" he said, trying to keep his frustration covered.

[[Thats good, well the fact you're feeling better at least
You get better, and than I catch a cold xD]]
"Because it's only going to fuel there anger more, and there already pretty angry" He said. "You will care if it fuel's there anger even more because you know who there going to come after the hardest? You and me, I'm surprised they already haven't come after me" He said. He was just trying to think logically about this and he wanted Draco to understand that, but it didn't seem like he was going to "I'm just trying... to protect you I guess" He said softly.
"You're idea is fine, we'll just go with that" He said

((Phew, the insanity of the first week of school is finally over, and I know which classes I want to take and which I want to drop, so my time will become my own again. Yay!))
---
"Oh," Draco said, leaning back heavily against his pillows. Harry suddenly had a point. Even if the Slytherins couldn't blame him and Harry specifically for the prank, when the whole of Slytherin decided to retaliate against the whole of Gryffindor, most likely they'd go for him and Harry.
But then he was confused, because Harry had brought up all these objections, but was suddenly saying they'd go with Draco's idea. "But—" he stuttered, clutching at the sheets of his bed, "but I don't want to put you in danger any more than you want to put me in danger." It was a new emotion, this protective instinct, and Draco found it hard to express.
"Maybe it's best to keep this on a personal level," he conceded. "Get back just at Morgan, Crabbe, and Goyle. Even if Crabbe and Goyle don't count mentally as more than half a person between them, they're actually pretty good with curses, and so it would be three against two. And you can bet that Morgan can get any of the Slytherins to do whatever he says. He's terrifying when he decides to be." Draco didn't say that he'd done things on Morgan's orders before, because he was rather ashamed of that.

"Draco I don't think anything you do could put me in more danger than my life is already in, I've faced death a far many more times than I would have liked" He said. His life was already in danger, it always was so no matter what he did it wouldn't matter, and now that Voldemort was back it just meant even more danger for him. At least it seemed like he wanted to do the job himself, so any deatheater enrolled in the school now would probably be killed if they took a shot at Harry.
"Why don't we worry about this when you're a hundred percent better and we can discuss it with everyone else? I'm not the only one right now who's worried about you're safety you know" He said with a smile, it was the truth, almost everyone was worried about his safety, the hate they had once felt was pretty much one, for most of them anyway, and the fact he was one of them just fueled the want to protect him. "Besides if we wait a few days before we do anything, they won't really know that we did it because of what they did to you" He said

"Oh." Harry had a really good point there, about waiting a few days. "That's a really good idea. If we let things calm down, act like nothing happened... then out of the blue we get our revenge." He liked that plan.
"Okay," he agreed. He made a pouting face at Harry. "It's so boring here. I wish Madam Pomfrey would just let me leave. How long can you stay?" he asked plaintively.

"You make it sound like I don't come up with good ideas often" he said half joking, half serious. Though with his track record, most of his ideas were stupid, go against a three headed dog to save the stone, go down into the chambers to save Ginny, save Sirius from being killed, go against Snape, the list of stupid ideas he had come up with seemed to get stupider and stupider.
"In till I have to go to class again, well a few minutes before anyway" He said. After that he could come back and keep him company pretty much all night.

((Moving things along here...))
---
Draco and Harry talked of nothing much until Harry had to leave, and Draco was alone once more in the hospital wing, with only the hustle and bustle of Madame Pomfrey to keep him company.
He pretended to read while he actually watched her, noticing for the first time that her bustle was purposeful: Snape apparently provided her with base potions, but she did a lot of mixing and dosing. Had he been raised by Muggles, he would have recognized the actions as being similar to a pharmacist. She was really quite pleasant to watch, moving in a purposeful way with no wasted actions. It reminded him of something, and initially he couldn't remember what. Then it came to him: it was like watching Harry on a broomstick. Graceful, intentional movement. Madame Pomfrey was using her hands, whereas Harry used his entire body...
Draco's thoughts wandered towards the gutter then, thinking of Harry's body, and broomsticks, and he dozed off again, the book falling onto his lap.
