Bio: Asher lives along the California coast, never really preferring to spend too much time in one spot. He likes to collect little things that humans leave on the beach, such as toys and wine bottles. He doesn't keep them for long, as he uses them to annoy and confuse surfers. He is curious about human life and often comes up at night to sit on the sand or explore the forts that children build. He keeps his distance from humans in the daytime.

Asher poked his head above the water, took a quick look around, then shuffled up onto the sand. The beach was mostly dark and empty on this stretch. He could see several small fires away to his left and right, but none too close for comfort. He wiggled across the sand to a pile of bone white logs that shone even in the sparse light of the crescent moon. He heaved himself up and down onto the wood with a few wet smacks of his webbed hands. Then he turned himself around and leaned back against the logs. From around his neck hung the broken off neck of a wine bottle, which he had modified into a small flute. He took it and blew into it softly, listening as the tiny note floated through the night breeze.

Bio:May had just moved back to California at the age of 9 years old with her family. she now moved out of her family's house at the age of 18. moving in to a beach house with her best friend Umi after a few years. Umi moved out of there beach house as she move back to japan with her fmaily. ever since then May has been working at a local gift shop 2 miles away form the coast. by a close by beach May mostly go's to the coast on her days off and at night. she loves to swim but is looking for surfing teacher. thinking that it would help her with her love for the 7 seas of the ocean.

May was taking a nice long walk a long the California coast. she then starts to hear music away form all of the camp fires. closer to the beautiful once it was some type of glass that made the lovely noise. "Were is it coming form? I wonder how is playing this music?" she walks off closer to the coast waters to have a look around. holding on to a old oil lamp holding it by the handle walking slowly. making sure not to step on any sharp rocks,broken glass are needles.

Asher stopped at the sight of the tiny light in the corner of his vision. He let the flute drop and sat up, looking around to the source. A young woman was heading this way, an oil lamp swinging from her hand. She was alone. That was odd. He didn't want to hang around to find out why though. He rolled off the logs and made his way back to the water as fast as he could, hoping she wouldn't spot him.

She walks till she stop's to look around not hearing the music any more. then shrug her shoulders and keeps walking on by the coast. humming a song to her self a song just random one form a old movie. yet only hummed the song not daring to let any one her sing out loud. for you see this young woman. was shy of the talent she has since people had tried to kidnapped her all because of her voice.

May hold on to the oil lamp handle tightly truth be tolled. she wanted to live in the ocean even if it was not possible. she walks till she find a rock in the salty ocean water. May climes on to it en sits down on the rock placing the oil lamp. on a close by sand bar to keep it steady.

"I wonder if merpeople are really real are not? I still believe that they are real. most people think they are not real they just think this race is only fantasy."May says in soft voice quite,kind voice thinking about it.

Asher reached the water without looking back and slid into the waves with ease. The water felt good after moving around so quickly on the sand. It almost made him forget about the woman. He swam farther away from the shallow waves, and only when he was many, many yards out did he chance a glance back to the beach. The oil lamp that the woman had been carrying now hung still in the dark, just above a group of rocks that reached out into the shallow waves. Was she there, watching him? He could hear her humming a slight tune, one he wasn't familiar with. It sounded as though she was just enjoying herself out there on the rocks.

May sits on the rock's looking out to the sea then takes. off her shirt en shorts off a 2 piece swim suite was on her body in it's place. the swim suite had star fish,sea horse's and shell's on it. she then jumps off the rock in to the water and starts to swim out. in to deep part of the ocean May loved swimming at night even if it was dangerous to do so.

At first Asher flinched and almost sped away, but he stopped after only a yard. He looked back, his eyes curious as he watched the woman swim around. She was awfully brave to be swimming around in the dark waters alone. Not many human woman would be willing to do that. At least not for long. He knew he shouldn't be hanging around the woman, but she was way too interesting. He wanted to find out more about her. So he ignored the instincts that were yelling at him to swim away and circled closer to her, watching her as she swam.

She laughs a bit wile starting to sing a song called Shining Road. it was Japaneses song yet May like all sorts of music. but music form around the world all sounds so nice to her. May swims out a bit more not caring how cold she would be once getting out of the water.

Asher swam closer and closer, careful to keep quiet from any splashing. He came to float just two yards away from her, listening attentively to her song. She was singing a new song now, and this one seemed more familiar to him. He still couldn't place its source though. He hesitantly swam a foot closer, moving in a careful distance around her as she moved through the water. He only peeked above the surface every now and then when she came up for air.

May looks around before going under water for a bit. trying go down to the ocean's floor to see if she mighty. be able to find something to put in to her hair are sell for some extra money. she knew she could not stay under water all that long with out the right stuff. so May came up after 30's minutes this time holding a few items in her hands. swimming off to the rocks to take a close look at them. not sure what she had found at all just yet. humming a song once more but this time it was under the sea.

Asher dived down after her as she looked, floating just above her head to keep in her blindspot. With no shadow to worry about, he could've watched her for as long as he wanted. But after a while she moved to turn toward the surface, and he quickly retreated again. He turned back to see her swimming away to the rocks she had been sitting on earlier. A trail of sand flowed from her hand. She had taken something from the sand. What could be so valuable down there?

He followed after her until she reached the rocks, then swam around to hoist himself up on the rocks behind her. He nestled himself in a large crack, keeping only his eyes barely visible in the dark gloom.

She gets up and sits on top of the rocks and puts the items close by. to the oil lamps light to see what they were. "Wow this is a Rare sea pearl hair pin it's in the shape of a flower. maybe I'll keep it I don't want to sell this one so pretty." May says to her self wile putting the hair pin in her hair,before looking at the other item. "This is a really old vase it's in prefect condition. I bet someone would like to buy it for a good price better put. a add in the paper in the next few days before someone else finds a other vase." the young woman laugh at her self before putting the vase down. on to the sand bar hoping it would not break.

A rare pearl pin? Asher faintly remembered another woman who had called out a search for something similiar many years ago. Maybe this pin was the same one. He quietly hoisted himself up out of the crack. He wanted a look at the pin, just out of curiousity. He used his tail to keep himself balanced as he raised himself up behind her back. He peered over her head, nimbling at his lip a little anxiously. He hoped to get a glance at the pin before the woman noticed him.

But before he could catch it, a drop of water fell from a strand of his hair, landing almost neatly on the tip of her nose. He froze, and he felt as though even his heart stopped cold at that moment. Craaaap....

"Uh is it starting to rain?" May says before noticing the merman in front of her. yet kept her mouth shut not wanting to scream out loud,knowing. other people would not believe her at all about this but she did not care if they did are not.

Asher did the only thing a self-respecting merfolk like himself could do; he immediately jumped off the rock and out of sight, rushing to the sandy ocean floor as soon as he hit the water. He mentally kicked himself for getting so close. From the disbelief in the woman's eyes, she might easily dismiss the whole thing. At least she hadn't screamed. But would she really forgot about it? He couldn't say for sure, but he desperately hoped so.

After finally allowing himself to relax for a moment, he turned to look up at the surface of the water. She hadn't jumped in after him, or accidentally dropped anything. Two very, very good things. He'd have to wait before coming up again to check what she was doing, or if she had left.

May jumps in to the water to try clear her head about what she had just saw. but stays close by the rocks as a dreamy sigh pass by her lips. 'If only there was a person how could. help me change in to a mermaid yet there is no one around here how can do that.' she then starts to swim till she go's really deep under the water. May stays under water for about 50 minutes trying to think of something.

Asher frowned and flicked his tail in frustration. Why had the woman jumped in after him? Did she believe that she had really seen a merfolk? She was spending awfully long periods under the water. It mad him grow concerned that she was trying to look for him. She must be an imaginative sort of human. Any other would likely have just shrugged and gone home.

He sighed, a stream of bubbles floating from his lips. She couldn't stay under the water forever. No matter how tough she thought she was, the cold of the night ocean could make her sick. She was a warm-blooded human, not a fish. So, reluctantly, he swam over to her and caught her around the waist, then began to drag her through the water toward the beach.

She had past out form being under the water for so long. yet May had a soft smile on her face she look so happy like this.

Asher wiggled his way onto the sand, using one arm to pull himself along, until he was just out of reach of the tide. Then he turned and laid the woman down on the sand, huffing a bit with the effort. Human's were never as light as they looked, not even the females. He looked her over with a frown, wondering how long she had been passed out. What was that thing humans usually did to wake one another up from things like this? It had been a long time since he had seen a person pass out like this, so he couldn't quite remember. It had something to do with pushing on the body.

He patted over her body with fingers spread, trying to find a place that seemed right. Her legs were too bony, and most of her torso was too soft. If only he knew where in the torso the lungs were, he might be able to work with that. He sighed in frustration and leaned back to look over her again. The only thing he knew for sure is that humans breathed through their noses and mouths just like any other creature. It was the best bet, since he didn't want to accidentally break something elsewhere on her body. So he leaned down to her face and pressed his mouth over hers to blow air.

After a wile May starts to wake up feeling someone's lips on hers. they fleet really wet en soft but she could feel air going back in to her lungs. May breaks it off and sits up slowly. "Thank you for saving my life but, I did not think. I would pass out under water like that I'm sorry. if I cause you any problems at all I would like to make it up to you some how." she says wile blushing May all way believed in mermaid en mermen since she was a small child.

Asher pulled back as he felt her breath return. He watched her closely, but she didn't show any signs of dizziness, and her speech was fine. She was a tough one for a human female. Swimming in frigid water, holding her breath for so long, and all without any troublesome effects. It impressed him, to say the least. He peered at her closer, looking into her eyes and sniffing over her hair. There was some fruity scent there mixed with the salt of the ocean. It tickled his nose a bit.

May giggles a bit at him sniffing at her hair not sure why. "The fruit smell is strawberry's en kiwi's. it's form the shampoo I use to keep my hair clean." yet she had never tried kiwi before so the fruit. was unknown to her mouth but not strawberry's with whip cream.

"You're strange," Asher commented, reaching up to touch her hair. "You're not scared or suprised by me at all." He took a chunk of her hair and held it up, fingering through the wet strands. His own hair was so twisted and tangled, it was amazing in comparison how fine her hair was.

"I have all way been called a odd girl all my life. your race fascinates me that is not way. I'm not sacred of you at all,but I'll never tell any one about you. they would not believe me any way they all just think I am crazy." May says wile looking out to the ocean for a little wile. then looks back in to his eyes.
