Vyr nodded and but refused a to have a drink, he simply wanted to be in the company of other people. He didn't like Ehl, something told him that they wouldn't get along any time soon if ever. Posting up against the wall near their leader, Vyr watched silently as the other's went about their own business and he felt a sudden feeling come over him as if he was an outcast. Then he realized he was to an extent but even so he chose to remain silent, as he had been used to coping with this feeling from when he was an drow... alive. Shutting out the feeling he continued to watch on in silence simply settling down to observe things as they were.

Adia nodded at the drow as he came by them, but said nothing for some time. He seemed much calmer than previously, so his presence was welcome. Together, they silently watched the rest of the group go about their business. "It's strange, isn't it?" she wanted to say to Vyr, "This group- I don't know what to make of them..." She figured he was in a similar situation, but felt it would be a bit too rude to start on that topic in the midst of the groups leader, so she put the topic away and stayed silent. She swirled the blood in her glass so it wouldn't settle too much and took another sip.
When Esmme asked about their pasts, she flicked her eyes upward to meet the leader's icy blue gaze. "I'm afraid there isn't much to say," Adia intoned regally, "I'm simply the daughter of a pair of aristocrats. My father was in the wine business. They raised me well, gave me a good education. Unfortunately I was never taught navigational skills, so I'm quite glad your wolf found me." She smiled as politely as she could, but still had an air of vanity about her. What she didn't care to relate was that these parents were long dead and her beloved estate recently filled with new occupants.
***
The moment Ameika released her, Helga stood and, with a sigh of relief, went to make some bandages. It was simple work, and as soon as the fabric was ripped, she collected a soft bit of cloth and bounded back to their spot before the fire. There, Ehl was attempting to bond with the girl. A grin burst onto her face as she realized that Ameika had forgiven him. Helga didn't like disputes, and this one vanished pretty quickly.
As Ehl's eyes narrowed, she stepped up to try to distract the girl from noticing any change in the way Ehl held himself. "I've brrrought dem," she said holding up the strips of cotton. After giving Ehl an appreciative and encouraging smile, she caught a whiff of the girl's blood. Intoxicating. . . As her mouth filled with saliva, she knew she had to wrap this soon, though that wouldn't completely rid the air of the scent. Now, she prepared Ameika, and herself, for what was to come. "Now, dis vill hurt a leedle," she said, reaching out with the cloth, putting pressure on the cut.

Ameika yelpped in surprise when Helga pressed the cloth on her wound, which made her start to cry and Cling to Ehl, trying very hard not to move as her wound was getting taken care of. "Owie!!!!" she screamed as she wiggled and tried to get away from what Helga was trying to do to her while Clinging to Ehl, it wasn't working to good considering the male wasn't moving and she was basically being held down. She her crying soon died down to a few sniffles and whimpering, holdding onto Ehl's leg like it was a life support that was the only thing keeping her safe at the moment.

The newborn wasn't one to really talk about his past but he owed this woman his life so he decided he would answer her question. He listened as the other woman spoke of her past, she held an air of true vanity but it was nothing that he hadn't dealt with before. Drow women are the heads of families and ever so often you find run into a few that have aura's about them like hers the difference being that they can actually take good care of themselves. As she finished Vyr looked to the floor for a few moments before closing his eyes as if he were trying to forget his old life now that he couldn't go back to it, "I was a hunter, but I aspired to be more... All drow know how to fight and many of our younglings are more dangerous than full grown human adults, but what I wanted was to take hold of my own house. Change things, so that males were no longer looked down upon simply as just mates and little else." Pausing for a few moments he opened his eyes that were overflowing with pure ambition and an aura of hatred as they grew narrow, "I could care less about equality, to think that we are all equal is simply a lie to cover up our own weaknesses. I wanted to have power in my hands to strip away the shackles that were upon my gender so that the strong could be strong and that the weak could be shown for what they were... male and female alike." Reeling in his emotions Vyr closed his eyes again as he leaned against one of the walls of their den. He thought about asking the vain female what her name was but figured if she wanted to talk to him she would speak up, but he would keep to himself unless addressed otherwise.

Helga couldn't help but sigh as Ameika squirmed and cried. "I'm sorry," she said sincerely. Now she moved to the strips and tied them tightly, not too tightly, around the girl's thin leg. She knew to move quickly since the smell of blood was all the more aromatic with the girl moving around like that, and to Helga, poor Ehl looked almost ready to run. She couldn't blame him, and bit at the inside of her mouth to keep her teeth in their proper place. She mentally reminded Ehl that he was strong, and hurried on with her nursing skills. The wound took a couple bandages due to its length. To distract the girl, Helga said, "Vhen I vas leedle girl, I used to help my papa vhen he had an - uh owie. He vas alvays okay, so you vill be, too." As she tied the last bandage she said with a smile, "I am goot at playing nurse." She hoped she grow to be just as good at playing auntie.
***
Adia listened to the newborn with interest, though she gave no sign that she was listening at all until she spoke up. "Well, that is noble," she said, holding out her hand, "I'm Adia Blackwood. Charmed." she said. "How were you doing in your 'let the truly weak be weak, and the strong strong' battle-cry?"

"Do you promise....that i will be okay, Auntie Helga?" Ameika said to her as she let go of Ehl finally, wipping her tears away as she moved over to red haired woman and hugging her close. Looking at the bandadage on her leg as she poked it a little, after a while of the poking she revearted to cuddling close to the vampire, slowly driftting a sleep. Her eyes opened some more as she pulled away from the vampire some and looked up at her, bitting her lip slightly as she looked around at everybody, meeting Helga's eyes. "Are....are you my family now?" she asked her hesitently, afraid to be told no and having to go around and look for a new family if they didn't want her.

The newborn listened to the woman introduce herself in a snobbish sort of way but he disregarded her attitude completely showing a shadow of a smile on his face. He poised himself to speak then looked up at her, "Call me Vyr." Then keeping his cool over the way she asked her question he nonchalantly replied, "I died," with a slight shrug of his shoulders. In other words he never had a chance to initiate his plans from the get go, and seeing that elves lived extremely long lives, assuming he wasn't killed some other way, he would have had plenty of time to see it through. If you wanted to be technical, Vyr himself was still a very young elf, still treated as a kid by age standards. But he had earned a great deal of respect because of his natural talents, already a bit unusual for that of a drow. Then turning his attention back to Adia he asked, "So explain to me how you ended up here."

((So sorry about your hand, Ember. :( Hope you feel better soon, deary.))
Esmme had let her attention drift from Adia and Vyr, and was watching Ehl and Helga closely as they tended to the young kitsune. Ameika was clinging to Ehl's leg, and he looked very much ready to just shove her away and run - or eat her. The clan leader took another calm sip from her glass as the situation was slowly resolved, turning her pale gaze back to the two beside her.
She almost chuckled at the airy voice of Adia, and a frown slipped over her features as she listened to Vyr. Their stories were so contrasting - and they each had their own bit of bondage to live with. Hopefully they would stay long enough for her clan to help them.
"I am glad to have the both of you here," she said quietly, finishing of her glass as she patted Adia's arm and Vyr's shoulder. "I implore you to consider staying for a while. I am in no rush to get rid of either of you." With the slightest of smiles, the vampire slipped past the pair, heading over to glance in at Auda - on Kej's bed.
"He isn't going to like that," she chuckled, heading over to stroke the blue wolf's ears. "He will smell you when he returns."
-
When Ameika clung to him, Ehl stiffened, his emotions coming to a screeching halt as his fangs extended. As his red eyes slowly faded black, he watched the kitsune closely, scenting her blood for many moments. It was when Helga smiled at him, mentally encouraging him, when the dark-haired youth was able to blink away his feral thoughts. With the slightest of smiles to the woman who now held Ameika, Ehl bowed slightly, moving toward the entrance of the cavern. He sat just where the cave opening yawned, looking to the slowly lightening sky. Dawn was coming soon.
-
"Can you keep up with me then?" Kej said with a smile, and the elf backed away, releasing her hands. "We need to run quickly if we are to get back to the den in a few days' time." In a blur of motion, the tall elf appeared near the farthest grouping of trees. "There's a river to the North. Race you there?"
It was a way to boost Lizz's mood, as well as get back to the Cullyn den swiftly. The male watched her for a moment, his long gray hair flitting about his pale features. "You don't want any second thoughts about this, Lizz."

As Auda's tail starts to wag a mile a minute, he raises the corners of his mouth in a smile. hehe yup, I know he won't. And I'm counting on it he says as he rolls onto his back and rolls all over Keji's bed. I miss that leech. I hope he comes back soon. He was fun to wrestle with. hehe, sometimes he felt more like a pack-mate than a clan-mate. He stops moving suddenly and looks squarely at Es with his ears already loweredNo offense of course

The clan mother shook her head. "We are a pack. A clan. And you know that already, you silly pup." When Auda's blue ears lowered, she gently kissed his nose. "I know you miss him," Esmme said with a chuckle, stroking the wolf's muzzle. "Kej will return soon." The vampire smiled, nudging the beast. "You'll have to keep wrestling with Ehl until he comes back."

Adia gave Esmme a tight smile when the vampire asked her and Vyr to consider a longer stay. She nodded to the woman and told herself that she would consider it - only because they saved her from eternal wandering in the bitter cold. But honestly, she was unprepared to ask for the directional help in getting back to town and she didn't have much to go back to anymore, anyway. Yes, next time she'd speak with the leader, Adia would tell her that she excepted her offer to stay...at least for now.
When the elf answered her previous question, she started. "Yes... yes, of course you did," she said as though it were obvious and she had known fruits of his struggle the whole time. "And didn't you manage to drag any of the other weak down with you?" she said as levelly as she could. Still, she couldn't rid her lips of a small smirk. Yes, she thought this was a worthy cause, and Vyr's battling and his obvious strength was more than intimidating, but she would have died again before admit that.
His question, though, was quick to make her smirk vanish. "I - well, I walked, part of the way..." she took another sip of her blood before putting her glass down. She would have excused herself to escape any further questioning, which could only lead to a certain amount of humiliation, but there was no place to excuse herself to.
***
"I promise," Helga said seriously. While she knew little about children, she could tell that this cut was a grave situation to Ameika, and so Helga aspired to handle it gravely, too. Though, now that Ehl seemed fine and distanced himself from them some, Helga knew it wasn't really that bad. "You vill be up and running in no time." Helga grinned at the girl, hoping that her smile added legitimacy to her statement for Ameika.
Seemingly satisfied, Ameika cuddled up and began to sleep, so Helga occupied herself briefly by stroking the girl's head. It wasn't long before the girl peeked up, though. Fear and loneliness vivid in the girl's large eyes, Ameika asked if this clan was her family now.
The question almost changed in Helga's mind to "are you really my auntie now?" Something about that would normally make Helga scream, she felt too unsure about being a responsible adult for any child. Telling herself that that wasn't the question really - it involved everyone, Helga glanced around briefly at those in the room. She couldn't speak for the whole clan, and even speaking for herself was difficult enough sometimes. Knowing her leader's heart for the clan-less, but afraid to overstep her boundaries, she hesitated. "I know everyvone vill love you here. Dis is your new home, and everyvone here is family."

Giving Esmme a simple nod of understanding, it would seem that he had little choice in the matter of where he would stay. He had nowhere to return to although he could go back to the underdark and destroy everything with his own hands now with this power but it would be a fruitless idea. He was dead now, in a sense, and that fact alone helped him understand that his past life was at its end and it was time to move on. Hearing her responses to his statements, Vyr was unsure if she was being somewhat sarcastic with him or rather agreeing with him, "I've killed anyone who stood in my way while I had the chance, including one vampire before I died." The thought of having killed a vampire while he was alive gave him reason to show off a slight smirk, it was a feat that not many could claim, and he was still a child in elven years. Then seeing the woman's embarrassment from his question gave him a warm feeling inside, sometimes it was interesting to see such personalities brought down to an earthly level. "Please, do continue," he added when Adia paused obviously looking for a way out.

Adia hesitated. What to do? She thought of instantly switching tones. She could gush with awe over his muscles and his triumph of killing a vampire even while alive and young, which frankly made her a bit frightened, but it would be obvious that she was avoiding the question. Taking another drink helped her to stall, but in the end, she knew she was cornered. "I, um," she stammered briefly. "No," she silently lectured herself, "answer him with poise," but she wasn't sure if this was possible. Regardless, she cleared her throat and started over. "Well, I thought I would make a trip to the town tavern, you know. They sometimes look forward to seeing me, the gentlemen, I mean. Not that I'm at all interested," she started to ramble, "but they are. I mean, because of my . . . elegance," she sighed and almost wanted to throw her hands up in defeat. How many lies could she sneak into her tale without them being found out? "Anyway, on my way I got a little off track." Her pace of speech quickened the more she spoke. "It's difficult, you know? With the snow covering everything. I thought for sure I was still in town for some time, but then I obviously wasn't and -" she stopped herself, took a breath and continued. "I, uh, by happenstance, met this clan's wonderful little wolf, and he kindly invited me here is all." She finished her brief story with her eyes on the small amount of blood left in her glass. There was no way he'd know that she had been flung onto the wolf in an unladylike manner, nor of the rough trip through the trees. And to keep him from guessing about her pitiful weeping, she fixed him with an angry look. "So, you could say I was actually just invited for dinner by these kind people. Yes, I believe the wolf even mentioned cheesecake." Not that she would eat such a thing anymore . . .
"Oh, how I want to crawl into a hole and hide for the next hundred years," she thought.
***
Helga smiled down at the girl, and began to stroke her head kindly like she had seen Esmme do before. The sun was inching closer to the horizon, and somehow the girl had already switched to sleeping during the earlier hours, or it was a nap. Either way, "Ameika vill fit in nicely here," Helga thought, looking out of the mouth of the cave. Lifting the kitsune, Helga ventured towards Kej's room, where she heard Auda's and Esmme's voices. "Vhich vill be her room?" she asked softly, before catching that Auda was comfortably stretched on Kej's bed. Her lips stretched into a wide smile and she had to keep herself from tossing the girl into Esmme's arms and pouncing the wolf, in part for fun, but also in part to keep from thinking about how long Kej has been gone.

Vry listened to the woman ramble on for a short time and soon shut her out. It was obvious what had actually happened to her and he would appreciate it if she would simply tell him the truth, after all everyone had their flaws it was just a matter of bettering yourself to cover up for them. Ignoring Aida feeling disrespected, he peered out over the ragtag group that had been assembled, no doubt by Esmme's doing, and peered at Ehl for a moment a dangerous thought looming for a spit second before dissipating. Bringing himself from the scoping of his new home he noticed that the woman was done speaking and casually retorted, "So you got lost and Auda found you, is that correct?" He looked at the woman her red hair accenting her eyes well and then shook his head slightly at her pathetic attempt of lying to him. It had been comical to him in its own way but still she would have earned some of his respect by simply coming forward with him. More than ever now though, this brought up another question in Vyr's surprisingly clear mind, "How did you become a vampire? I would think one as you would be allowed to die silently rather than being given eternal life." His words had rolled off his tongue with a jagged bite to them, although he had intended no sort of tone, it seemed he was slightly unsettled from the false tale she had just told him more than he had realized. Vyr's eyes narrowed as he looked at her as if to pierce her soul or maybe it was simply a warning that his patience with her was running thin, then he relayed his thought, "It would be wise of you not to lie to me again."

"Just stay headed toward the mountains," Kej replied, smiling as Lizz sped up as well. "When you reach the foot of them, head North. You'll catch a human trail that we can follow, which will lead to the village near my den." His voice lifted just enough for her sensitive hearing to catch, and the elf laughed. "The clan might find you before we find them."
-
Esmme laughed at Auda, and then smiled at Helga as she entered the room. Seeing Ameika, the clan mother extended her arms, moving toward the two of them. "I will take her, if you wish." There was a perfect room near her own with a lavender curtain that would do just fine.
-
Slowly moving into the kitchen, Ehl cast both Vyr and Adia a small glance before turning his attention to replacing the bottle he had with him in the cupboard. The young vampire refrained from reading their minds, but only barely - it was rare when he really had to reign his ability in, and he wasn't as good at is as he'd like to think.

Hearing Auda say he was going to go take a walk Vry allowed Aida off the hook for the time being, she would have to answer his question later. Giving her a slight nod and a blank look at Ehl, whom he was receiving odd vibes from, he walked out of the kitchen area to meet Auda and see if he would like some company. Part of him felt as though he owed him an apology especially since he was simply trying to protect his family. Vyr posted up near the doorway with his arms folded across his chest and eyes closed as he waited for him.

If the winter hadn't made hunting so difficult he would have never had to even come this far out of the entrance area to the underdark, but it is what it is. He's here now so best to get used to the area as soon as possible.
