Veronica swallowed her food and nodded. "Yeah. He's definitely fine. He's back in his apartment, I think. And yeah, I'm fine too." She paused and thought about something. "I-I guess we're going to get back together...unless...we already are..."

Forever sighed lightly, not saying anything. If she wanted to go about that path in her life - it was fine. As for Forever, she never went back out with an ex, no matter how hard they begged, pleaded, wined, or cried or how bad she, herself, cried. But she simply ate and kept her mouth shut.

Forever's sigh kind of worried Veronica. Maybe Forever could give her some advice? Then maybe she thought that she shouldn't get back together with Demetri. There IS a reason why we broke up, after all, right? she thought. "Uh...is that a bad thing?"

Forever looked at her. "Honey - I have one rule, and one rule only about break ups, do not -under no circumstances- date ex's. No matter how bad it hurts, no matter how much either of you cry. You broke up for a reason and it didnt work out in the first place. What on Gaia's faiding green earth makes you think that its gonna work out a second time? And if a repeat of a it happens the second time around, what makes you think its gonna work out a third time?" she asked, looking at Veronica with a look that clearly expected a responce, no matter what it was. Forever wasnt a judging person, she was just trying to share some advice with a friend.

Veronica thought about it for a second. Forever was right. There had been a reason for the breakup. And everything happens for a reason, right? But she just thought for so long that she and Demetri would last - well at least longer than this. Though, the breakup was Veronica's fault, she couldn't help but think that it was Demetri's too. She wished she could go back to when she broke up with him, but she couldn't and she wouldn't be where she is now with all these new friends. She then configured a question to ask Forever. "Uhm...let's say the breakup was for a little...minor reason? What happens then?" Veronica had more questions than that, but she didn't want to ask them all at once.

"Little minor reasons? Okay - honey, I really dont mind the questions, I truely dont, but specify just a little when you ask them. What kind of minor reasons are we talkin about honey?" she asked, turning in her chair to face her more fully. Forever was proving to be more wise and 'motherly' than she let on. She was good with what she did - and that was comfort people and give advice.

Veronica played with her fingers while she thought about the whole Demetri situation. "Well like...I just got a little mad because I found out that he still talks to his last serious girlfriend a lot, but I shouldn't have been jealous because she has a boyfriend and they only talk because I found out that they're coworkers." She didn't know if that counted as minor or not, but she didn't see it as a big deal. "I blew it completely out of proportion though." Veronica paused again. She thought that Forever probably wouldn't pass that off as a "little minor reason". So she decided to ask. "IS that a 'little minor reason'?"

Forever nodded, listening and taking everything into consideration. "Thats not minor honey - that's major. You didnt blow it out of porportion - you had every right to do that. If I had a boyfriend and he was still talking to his last serious girlfriend, despite being coworkers and her having a boyfriend, I'd have a fit too!" Forever assured. And she knew she would because she had done it too - that was the reason for one of her break ups in the past in fact. Forever made a huff noise and took another bite. "Anything else? I'm here to help and I'll answer anything," she offered.

As much as Veronica wanted to take up Forever's offer, she didn't feel like talking so much about it. She stayed quiet for a good ten seconds before she said something. "So...I just...don't get back together with him?" Veronica hesitated. "But what do I do? If I don't get back together with him, I still would want to be friends with him." She took a short breath then sighed. "Or is that a bad idea too?" She then realized that she wasn't as good with this stuff as she thought. She was glad she went there because she made some new, great friends.

Forever -with a fork in her mouth- kind of shrugged. "I have an ex that's my best friend. Even though things were kind of rough for a while, since she wanted ot get back together, and I didnt. So it was rough for a while - lot of tears, lots of yelling. A few nights over, we talked and... worked a few things out." she admitted, looking at her with a smile on her face. "Its worth it in the end - she's my best friend. So its possible."

Anna's eyes darted between Forever and Veronica's faces. She wasn't EXACTLY in earshot, but she could definitely tell that they were, well, exchanging guy advice. Beside her, she could see that Jake was chewing quietly on a tiny piece of beef tenderloin. He picked up a small roasted cherry tomato, scrutinized it for a bit, and took a sort of tentative bite. He - again, quietly- spit it out in a napkin. Somehow, Anna found this amusing, and suppressed an urge to laugh. ((Sorry for Jake's rudeness, Nao. But hopefully this will allow you to scold him for a bit, yush? XD)) |
So maybe it wouldn't be so bad if Veronica and Demetri didn't get back together. "Makes sense...thanks, Forever." She smiled. Then she noticed that Forever said she. So she decided to ask out loud. "Um...did you say she?" Veronica paused. "Sorry for being so...question-y."

Forever smiled, glad to have helped another person. Then she couldnt help but burst into laughter. "Yes - I dated a girl." she said, chuckling. "It was a rather good and open expirence." she admitted, nodding. "Not that I suggest it. Sharing a bathroom - ugh." she said, laughing at her own joke. Forever shook her head. "You're fine hon, you're not asking too much," she promised.
