Random Car Ride (Not As Bad As It Seems, Really)
 

You might have came here because of the very interesting title (NOT), but if you came here because you were genuinely interested, well...thank you! :)
Anyway, this roleplay is not just about car rides. It is about how people meet through various circumstances of shared transportation (hitchhiking, taxi rides, etc.) So here's how it starts:

Veronica was standing in the rain, using a newspaper as a makeshift umbrella. The rain was starting to get heavier. "Taxi!" She screamed and signaled. She envied those people with actual umbrellas. You know what, I'll hitchhike!

((You could just jump in from there, no need for character pages or all that other complicated stuff. Lol xD Just make sure you don't try to control other people's characters (including mine)))

((I actually came here mainly because of the title... but ALSO because I'm interested! : D So here goes! This should be fun. :] ))

Anna was driving home from work, anxious to get home to her boyfriend. She turned on her windshield wipers and suddenly saw a soaked girl just standing on the sidewalk, frantically signaling to a taxi driver that seemed to be rudely ignoring her.

I'd hate to be out there with no umbrella in this weather, she thought. She quickly checked her reflection in the rearview mirror, making sure that she didn't look like some kind of female kidnapper or whatever, and drove up to the girl. She rolled the window down halfway, and shouted over the sound of the rain, "You want a ride?"

Veronica walked up to the only car that stopped for her. She made sure that some type of predator or stalker wasn't in the car before answering. "Yeah. Thanks." Wow, someone actually stopped for me. But how do they know thatI'm not some type of stalker or something? Veronica opened the passenger side door and got in slowly. She threw the soaked newspaper out the door before closing it, instantly regretting it because she was littering. Veronica had a thing for the environment.

Forever walked down the street, huddled under her pure black umbrella, glad she didnt decide to wear white. An inside joke with her and her friends was if she owned white, the day she wore it - it would rain and the earth would wither and die. Forever -as you can probably assume- didnt wear white much. Or pink. Or blue. Or any other color other than black.
Shivering, she huddled under the umbrella more.
"Crapy day... eyeliner's running... ruined," she grumbled to herself, mad as all hell and cold as well, despite the hoodie and the long Tripp pants, which -she might internally add- were 70 bucks. Grumbling more, she made her way as fast as she could without getting too wet.

"I'm Veronica. I actually live with my friends in an apartment downtown. It's kind of far, but I don't want to impose...Could you possibly drop me off at the nearest subway station?" Veronica giggled. "I wouldn't want to damage any of your furniture with my soaked self. Oh....sorry about the car seat, by the way." She smiled apologetically and looked down. The seats were leather.

((Yay! A new character! -waves to Forever- Nice post, btw. Wearing white clothes in the rain would definitely suck. xD))

Anna laughed. "Don't worry about it, it's my boyfriend's car. He's pretty laidback, I'm sure he won't care much." Okay, so she mentioned her boyfriend in daily conversation a little too much. She couldn't help herself.

Anna started the car and headed for the subway station. She had barely driven a block when she saw yet another girl on the sidewalk. She was dressed in all black, and even from a distance, Anna could tell that her once-heavy eyeliner was running.

She stopped the car again and turned to Veronica. "What do you think? Should we pick her up too?"

Veronica wasn't too fond of the idea of hitchhiking. She only did it because she kind of had no other choice. "Um...sure...why not? I mean, we can't just let her stand there in the cold rain." She bit her lip. She craned her neck so she could see the drains on the side of the street better with the windshield wipers going at rapid speed. The water was beginning to pile up. It was probably going to be a good six inches by the time the other girl got in. The subway would be flooded by the time they got there. "And...um...maybe...Can I change my mind?" Veronica giggled. "Maybe I SHOULD head to your place - IF you don't mind..." She knew she was making a risky decision, but there were worse people hanging out in subway stations on days like this, right?

((YES! YOU'RE GOING TO MY PLACE! *victorious fist-pump* Maybe I'll have to play my own boyfriend if we get that far in the roleplay and no one else joins, lol...))

Anna exclaimed, "YAY!" She internally did a little happy dance, and upon realizing that she didn't want Veronica to think she was crazy, she wiped the extremely happy look off your face. "I mean, wow, this is awesome. It's usually just me and my boyfriend, but I could DEFINITELY use a girl in the house."

She rambled on and on about possibly using their guest room, and about how her boyfriend was so nice, until she got nearer to the soaked girl on the sidewalk.

Anna sighed. "I guess today is my Good Samaritan day." She pulled over to the girl on the sidewalk, rolled down her window a second time, and feeling a faint sense of deja vu, shouted over the sound of the now pouring rain, "Hey! You want a ride?"

((Haha. I guess you will xD But Forever isn't actually here at this moment...o.O))

"There's room at her house." Veronica joked pointing to Anna and laughing. "I know your pain, girl." She directed her attention to the girl on the sidewalk. "That's how I ended up here. Taking a ride from Anna is the best decision I've made all night." She had a flashback of breaking up with her boyfriend. That's how it all really started for her. She was mad at him for some reason she forgot by that point and got out of his car and into the (at the time) light rain. He told Veronica she was being stupid, but she didn't listen to him. She regretted breaking up with him. Then she was pulled back into the moment. "So, are you coming or what?" She smiled.

((YESS! *another victorious fist-pump* Lol... But she's online... o.o I'm not gonna post until she posts. Maybe. xD))

Forever looked over, blinking. She didnt expect a car to pull up and a few girls to just pop out and go 'hey, wanna ride?'. Forever thought best, knowing what her mother said, dont talk to strangers, dont hitchhike... What if they sold her into human trafficking?!
"Uhh..."
She looked around before sighing heavily, hesitently getting into the car and curling up into herself as much as she could.

Veronica could see that this girl was scared. "Don't worry. We're not predators, stalkers, we don't do drugs or human trafficking." She assured the new girl. She spoke like she knew Anna well, but she just met her. Veronica hoped that what she just said was really true. You never know anything for sure in this world anymore. "Do you have a place to go?" She turned to the backseat of the car.

((Yay for Forever getting in the car! XD We may not haf cookies, but we ish awesomzz! : D))

Anna grinned as soon as she saw the girl sigh and get in the passenger seat behind Veronica. This was going to be fun.

"I can drive you anywhere, really. Not anywhere too far away, but I can. Or..." She thought for a moment. Inviting two girls to her house would possibly miff her boyfriend a bit, but why not try with this girl? She looked like she needed a place to stay. "Do you have any place to stay for the night? I can take you to my place. Veronica's going too."

Her tone was a bit hesitant, so she tried to make it cheery. "That way, if I turn out to be a crazy stalker, you'll have her to keep you company when I make you two my hostages." She laughed.

((Veronica&Forever, I PROMISE I'm not gonna pull any surprise attacks on you and kidnap you. XD))

Veronica laughed. Anna would probably make a great friend...Maybe after tonight we can hang out more, She thought. "Maybe while we're there, you and your boyfriend can give us relationship tips since you guys seem so good together." She laughed some more. Veronica was only partially kidding about that. She was in need of relationship help. She ran her hand through her hair: a habit of hers which she got from having such messy hair. She did that to keep it out of her face. It felt wet and stringy under her fingers and some of the water splashed on the window.

"I'd love to give you guys relationship tips! My boyfriend isn't the smartest guy out there, but he's definitely the sweetest." Anna smiled just thinking about him.

((Seeing that Forever is looking at the thread at the moment, I'll just post this much...))

She laughed lightly, slightly relaxing. Forever nodded. "Uhh. You know what - what the hell. Sure." she said, smiling as she wiped the black tears going down her face from the rain. Forever laughed at Anna's comments, shaking her head. "My last two, three relationships I f*cked up royaly. So please - dont ask. Besides this - stand up and dont let him controll everything. I didnt!" she said, laughing more, shivering.

((Yay for missing the girl wearing all black! : D))

"You mean, sure you'll stay at my place tonight?" She hopped up and down in her seat. "This is gonna be AWESOME!"

After a few seconds of celebrating, she suddenly turned around. "Wait! We don't even know your name!" She held out her hand and grinned.

"I'm Veronica." Veronica introduced herself. "My relationship ended today...I ended it." She paused and fiddled with the bracelet that her boyfriend gave her that said, FOREVER. She knew there was no such thing as foreve anyway. "I-I don't know. He was just being so...such a...he lied to me about his last relationship. His ex wasn't someone I didn't know. It was my best friend's sister." She paused again, thinking of what to say next. "I couldn't believe it. I've been going out with him for a year. I loved him. I still do. But I know that it probably kills my friend to know what her sister is going through. She loves her sister. And she didn't tell me either. I don't understnad why." Veronica shook her head. "And I had to find out because I read his text messages with her. She still loves him. Probably more than I ever will." She felt like crap again, but she wasn't going to cry. "So that's how I ended up here. Sorry to bore you with my story." She giggled to lighten the mood.

Anna suddenly turned to Veronica, and felt sad for her. She always started feeling sad when other people were sad, even when they were trying to cover it up. ((*coughcough* Your giggle didn't fool Anna, Veronica!)) "Today???" She turned to the girl in the backseat just long enough to say, "She did NOT tell me about this," and gave Veronica an awkward one-armed hug. "I'm so sorry!"

Anna sighed. Being so happy with her own boyfriend, it was always easy to forget about people being in, well, not-so-stable relationships. And seeing that she had given anonymous advice on her middle school newspaper's advice column, she intended to make Veronica feel better. She shared her thoughts with Veronica, and turned to the girl in the backseat again. "Did anything weird or sad happen to you today too?"

((I actually DID give advice on my middle school newspaper's advice column... XDDD))

"No.. its fine," she told Veronica smiling a bit. She tried to push the memories of what she had done out of her haed but it was failing epically. She shook her head, deciding not to dwel on it anymore.
"I'm Forever." she said softly, smiling a bit more toward the other girl. "Its pretty... that bracelet. And no - I'm not just saying that because it has my name on it," she said, chuckling lightly to mainly herself.
"And sure - why not. Sleep over with two chicks that I dont know very well. Who knows - maybe after tonight, we'll be best friends." she said, shrugging. Fate was an odd, weird thing and it did odd, weird things.

"Yeah...Friendship comes in strange ways sometimes. I met my other friends through ways that are so weird, you'd probably think they weren't possible..." Veronica thought about it. The public bus on the way to her middle school... At a club when she split up a fight that could've probably saved her future-friend (at the time) a trip to jail. "And...my boyfriend gave me this bracelet." She untied it, took it off and put it into her pocket. "I guess...it doesn't mean anything anymore." She looked down. "Now I want him back." Veronica muttered, taking the bracelet out of her pocket and tracing the letters with her finger.

Anna sighed and kept driving. She thought of how she'd met her boyfriend. She'd had a crush on him through all of sixth grade... she'd given up on him by seventh grade... and in eighth grade, he - as she liked to put it - had fallen hopelessly in love with her. She inwardly grinned. They'd gone to different high schools but they'd stuck together through all those times. And now, they were in college. It was winter break, and-

Wait. Her mind screeched to a stop. It was winter break. What DAY was it today?

When Anna stopped at a stop sign, she turned to Veronica and Forever and asked, "Guys? What day is it today?"

((Christmas with Anna and her boyfriend and the two girls in the rain? You decide. O.O))

Forever watched and listened to the two women. They were all different, in their own ways, but in some ways, oddly the same as her. It was odd and slightly creepy. "Christmas," Forever stated suddenly. "Meaning, we're trapped with you for Christmas," she joaked.
