It wasn't hard to get envious when there were two people who were close to each other like that. Like friends. Drake let out a quiet sigh as he'd shaken his head. "This is preposterous," he'd mumbled to him as he'd stopped in his tracks. He'd gotten himself lost but a window nearby caught his attention. Walking to it, he silently looked out into the forest that surrounded the dragon's lair and grumbled, "I never cared about anything even when I've turned into a beast."
Why did he care so much now?
"It isn't like you at all," a voice agreed as a figure stepped out from the shadows. Drake's eyes widened at the sight of the one who'd turned him centuries ago. "Going soft now ever since you've been cut off from the coven?" he asked. Drake didn't answer. He'd only guarded up his defenses and relaxed himself in order not to miss anything that might happen. "They should've killed you. You're supposed to die; not be taken in by anyone. Your fangs will give fortune to that hunter you'd almost sucked dry." When the said man, whom Drake knew by the name of Hallen, reached out, Drake slapped the hand away.
"We'll come back. But first, we'll need to rid of your old 'friend' and his lover."
Drake bared his fangs and hissed. "Don't you dare touch them." With what seemed to be less than a second, the younger of the two vampires grabbed ahold of the other's neck and gripped onto it tightly. "I won't hesitate to kill you when you do. Even if I have to wage war against the whole coven."

((Wow! Third line from the bottom, shocker! I wasn't even expecting that.))
Ceda shivered and Zar looked back at her.
"Something wrong?" He asked, Ceda nodded.
"There's another one of them here." Zar cursed under his breath and Ceda slipped off.
"Ceda, go find Drake and make sure he's not getting himself killed. I'll catch up to ou in a moment." With that Ceda was off after Drake.

(( Lol. Glad to surprise you. XD ))
"Wage war against the whole coven?" Hallen scoffed and laughed despite the hard grip on his neck, "You can't even save yourself."
Drake tightened his hold around Hallen's neck and gritted his teeth to try and hold back his anger. "It's the coven who threw me away after I did what I had to do?" he asked, his voice as icy as it could be, "I had to choose between staying and having to see my best friend's death."
"You did it to save yourself and now you're blaming others?" Hallen asked as he'd brought up a hand to grip Drake's wrist tightly. "You know it better than others. Your bestiality came out when guilt swallowed you up, wracked your brain, destroyed your heart and what you believe in was true."
If Drake had tears, he'd be crying in anger - mostly to himself right now. "Do not touch them," he hissed.
"We'll see," the vampire laughed as he'd broken Drake's forearm. It brought an initial pain that had Drake falling back and he'd held his wrist while he watched Hallen smiled knowingly at him. "I'll see you again, Drake. In hell."
Drake ducked his head down and shut his eyes tight. He cursed himself for being so weak. He'd also lost the only one he loved. He can't have that happen to anyone else because of him.

((Now it's my turn to add a twist.))
"Well Zar, seems you can shift pretty fast now." Ceda stood at the end of the hall, her longbow drawn and an arrow aimed it Hallen's chest.
"I've been pratcing." Came Zar's voice, it came from behind Drake where a man in bronze dragonscale armor stood with a bandaging cloth in his hand. His hair was a light red like the outside of Zar's wings, there were a few streaks of a dark blue that matched his eyes. He took Drake's hand off his Wrist and set the bone before wrapping it.
The hand and arm the held Drake's wrist were covered with a glove and the tunic he wore underneaith the armor was longsleeved on that side.
"Hallen." Ceda said glaring at the vampire.
"I suggest you return to your coven now. You may want to prepare for battle." The man smiled.
"I haven't seen have way decent combat in years." He said to himself.

Drake's eyes widened when he'd heard Zar's voice. He turned to look up at him when he'd seen him take his wrist and he'd flinched a little at the other setting the bone. It didn't feel painful. It just felt uncomfortable. Seeing the other changed all of a sudden like this made him look at him in awe before he'd snapped his gaze to the conversation between the other two vampires.
"Hallen!" Drake called out, his eyes holding hatred as he opened his mouth to continue on, but was cut off by the older vampire.
"Don't worry. I'll make sure they're both dead, together. I want to see you suffer, Drake - suffer much more..."
When Hallen was out of sight, Drake cursed again under his breath and punched the floor hard. There were the disgusting sounds of misplaced bones. He was just about curse a third time when he'd realized that Hallen seem to recognize Ceda. He was younger than the woman vampire, that was true, but even then... she couldn't have been part of the coven, could she?
"How'd you... know Hallen?" he asked, frowning a little as he'd looked up at her with an obviously surprised look.

Ceda walked over and Zar stepped back, Ceda was the better of the two at repair.
"The two of us were close. Like creepy close, but I ditched to coven when they caught Zar. You were still human, considering I don't rember young around." Zar shook his head.
"Ceda, can you try not to bring that back. I don't want to think about..." Zar grimiced before shutting his eyes.
"I'll explain that when your not around." Ceda said as she finished wrapping Drake's wrist. She took his other hand and began to righten those bones.
"At this rate you're going to be in a full body cast." Ceda said as she began wrapping his other hand. She did the fingers indivudally.

Drake blinked. So, Ceda was in his... coven, too? Was she the rumored woman who saved a dragon centuries ago? It would explain why she was close to... Zar. Even possibly be his lover. Not that it bothered him but he felt that envy come to him again like that of a pin poking a balloon. Except that that balloon doesn't burst. Yet.
"Ah," he'd started, feeling his embarrassment take him over, "Sorry." He looked sheepish, almost looked like a child who'd been berated, too. Turning to look at Zar and then to Ceda and bowed his head low. "Thank you."

"There's no need to thank us yet. This isn't over." Zar said before glancing out the window. There was a storm on the way.
"I've got a feeling your old coven will be coming tomorrow." Zar said watching what looked to be Hallen at the edge of the woods. Ceda finished the bandaging of Drake's hand and admired hor work.

Drake pursed his lips a little at the news. "Then, I'll stop them before they come any closer," he said, looking rather determined, until he saw Ceda's look of admiration - supposedly at her work of patching him up. He found himself smiling a little in amusement. Shaking the thoughts off his head, he nodded towards Zar and Ceda.
"I won't let them touch you two. Not even a hair on the both of you."

Zar shook his head.
"We can take care of ourselves Drake." He said with a stern tone, Zar was still gazing outside. Ceda wispered into Drake's ear.
"Zar always gets a little moody when he's in his human form." Zar shook his head and sighed.
"If you need me I'll be in my room." He said before heading to another wing. Ceda tsked.
"This has to be really confusing for you." She said as Zar turned a corner.

Drake felt his brows raise at the stern tone Zar used on him. When Ceda had whispered into his ear, he'd felt himself stiffen - not really too used to the contact.
"Seems... like it," he mumbled under his breath and watched Zar leave before he'd turned his gaze back to Ceda.
He looked off to the side for a moment before he'd nodded. "All I know is that you're someone special to him and you to him, and that you're part of the coven I was in before... who also happened to be an ex-member like me." Now that he thought much about it, it made his head whirl. He had to bring up his bandaged hand to hold his head.

Zar slipped his jacket, shirt and glove off before slipping under the sheets of his bed. He closed his eyes and just wanted to rest but that day, of all days to think about drifted into his head.
"Shake a leg Zar. My coven's coming." Ceda said gripping the hand on Zar's good arm firmly as she pulled him along through the woods. The light frost that covered to forest crunched under their feet. A liught trail of red followed the two, mostly from Zar and his first failed escape attempt. Ceda groaned and just picked up the tiring dragon before dashing through the woods. Zar blacked out as Ceda reached the nearbye town.
He blinked and sat up in a daze. Zar glanced out the window and groaned. He'd fallen asleep! He looked down and glared at his arm.
Ceda sighed and shook her head.
"Should I take you to the infermery so I can get you properly bandaged up?" She asked. The cloth was only to hold the bones steady until they coud be properly casted in place.

Drake shook his head. "My healing abilities should be practiced," he started, pausing for a moment before he'd hesitated to ask the question. "Tell me about before," he looked at her while he felt his blood slowly patch things up. His wrist wouldn't be held together by tomorrow but his hand, at least, would be whole again.
"How did you and Zar meet?" he asked.

Ceda leaned aginst the wall and closed her eyes.
"It was way back when the coven was young. Before it was even an official coven. He was in the town nearbye trading dragon scales. I would later learn they were his. He was buying all kinds of stuff, clothing, vases, books, plants, seeds.
He came back one day reeking of dragon so Halln. Being the newest member was sent to follow him to wherever he'd gotten to dragon scent. Hallen came back the next day with Zar gagged and his hands tied behing his back.
His first escape attempt was a few days later. He din't get very far. His second attempt he looked to me for help." Ceda rubbed the back of her neck and began to think.
"That was the night alot went wrong. But we escaped and made it to town. After Zar had recovered we headed here. I stayed for awhile and I've come back every hundred years or so for a visit. The ocassional repair on Zar's arm."
Zar sat up and dressed again and splashed some water in his face and rubbed his eyes before pulling on a glove.

Drake watched Ceda as she retold the story. She seemed really fond of Zar and he couldn't help but think back on what Hallen had said. It wouldn't be surprising if Zar and Ceda, indeed, were of an item. The words 'the occasional repair on Zar's arm', though, caught his attention and he'd blinked a moment.
"Zar's arm is...?" he couldn't bring himself to finish his statement as he'd looked down at his own broken wrist. It couldn't be, could it? "Who did that to him?"

"Zar's arm is broken?" he finally asked as he'd frowned a little, "And... who did it?" He repeated the second question out of his curiosity to know who could do such a thing. Not that he wouldn't know, of course, but it was best to be sure, right?

Ceda chuckled.
"Nope, Zar's arm is fake. A fake metal arm is under that cloth. It only effects his human form though." She said, Drake was the only person besides Zar and Ceda who actually knew of this.

Drake frowned a little. A fake... metal arm? As he thought this thought, he idly recalled back to Zar. He's never noticed it but was it real? "Under that sleeve and glove?" he asked her as he'd raised his brows a little in slight curiosity.
