(I'll try. ^^)
Spircade sighs, slipping behind a pillar. The only way he could really enjoy himself is if he evaded his gaurds. He rolls his eyes, cursing his over protective mother. He closes his eyes and a black 'light' comes over him. When he opens his eyes, they're a dark red--unlike their normal gold. His hair is also different, being a dark green. He slips the cloak he borrowed out of his bag and puts it on. He steps out from behind the pillar and strolls down the street, without getting stared at. 'There. I'm a suitable commoner,' he thinks to himself, pleased. He pauses when he sees a crowd of people around a storefront. He heads over to it curiously. |
The store had a table out front where the classic find the ball under the cup game was going on. The current choser was Adelene. She was in a light blue hooded cloak, locks of blonde hair could be seen.
"You gonna go another round?" The shopkeeper asked. "Yes, yes I am." She said and a few more bets were placed. The man moved the cups with a suprising swiftness but was jerkey, making the ball rattle inside it's cup. This to Aidelene's sensetive ears sounded like clapping over light taps. She picked up the cup to reveal the tenth sugessful guess. "I'll be taking the bets and going now." She said standing and pocketing the bets. She made her way through the crowd and into the Inn acros the street. She took a seat with two men in similar cloaks ut with their hoods down. They wee also elven, but their hair covered their ears. Unlike Aidelene's which shown from under her hair. "How many rounds Aid?" One asked as she took her seat. "Ten rounds and a horse worth in demon coins." She said pulling her hood down, the tips of her ears poking out from under her hair. |
Spircade wander over with a sort of childlike innocence on his face. "May I try?" he intones, tilting his head slightly. He closes his eyes once the shopkeeper begins. It doesn't seem like he's even breathing. Once the cups stop he opens his eyes. "Center," he states, staring the man in the eyes. He blinks when he sees he's right. 'Finally, a game not rigged due to my standing,' he thinks bitterly. "I was right?" This isn't a confident statement, in fact, it's a question. He looks honestly amazed that he won by his own power.

Adelene stood before speaking.
"I have hunting duty tonight so I've got to go you two." She said before slipping around to the back to get her Clidesdale from the back. "Afternoon Reino." She said scratching the horse behind the ears. He whinnied and Adelene put his saddle on. It was a dark earthey brown with a matching bridle and saddlebags. Adelene hopped up and pulled her longbow and quiver out from the saddlebags. She rode around onto the street and drew an arrow. She looked more like a village guardian than anything else. She passed Spircade as the cups stopped moving. "Center." She muttered looking him over. Though it was easy to tell he was demon but he didn't seem to bad. "So you were right." She said with a smirk as she replied to his question. She pulled an elven coin from her pocket and flicked it onto the counter, it was bronze with a fern printed on one side. An elven 10 on the other, the fern and the 10 were in silver. "That should get you a few more rounds." She added as she loosened her arrow. |
Spircade glances at the money. "Oh, no. I couldn't. It's yours." Even growing up privileged he couldn't blindly take money from people. He fidgets as he hears his name being called, torn bewteen running and talking to the new friend he met. He glances at his guards, curiously, like he doesn't know them. "Who are they?" he asks Adelene, knowing who they are, but wanting to hear her answer.
|
Aidelene chuckled.
"Guards for..." She grimiced. "Him, his wife and son." it was easy to tell she had something against Spircade's father. She shook that though from her mind. "Guess there looking for Spircade. What has that boy gotten himself into this time. Hopefully he keeps his antics out of my fife. " She added with a light laugh. |
Spircade tilts his head. "Are they bad people?" He eyes the guards, hoping they don't recognize him. One of the guards walks over and stares at them. "Have you seen the prince anywhere?" He looks irritated, and Spircade fights back a snicker. He shakes his head.
|
Aidelene shook her head, and the guard continued on.
"Probably 90% of the guards are okay. There's the 10 percent that are the kings personal guards and have the night shift that arn't." She said picturing the black armor and the cruel sharp features of their helmets. "Their trained killers. Almost like dogs, they listen to one person and only one. In their case the king, if he wants you dead your dead within a week of him telling his guards to find you." Aidelene shivered and shook the thoughs away. |
Spricade frowned at that. He looked really upset about that. He'd known, but he hadn't known it was that bad. "That's horrible," he murmured. He'd be talking to his father about that, when he got back.
|
Aidelene sustained a chuckle and looked around. She caught the fainest glimmer of gold in an alley and shuttered.
"Kid, I've got to go. Just... keep your wits up about anyone dressed in gold that could be a guard." With that her boot lightly tapped the side of her horse and sent her into otion. It was a swift gallop twords the woods. She caught a glimmer of one of the king's personal guard's armor. If this led to a chase Aidelene knew she'd have a little fun tonight messing with the royal guards. What Aidelene was unaware of was that her bow had slipped from it's holster under her cloak and sat on the tips of Spricade's shoes. The actual wood and string were coated in a light dust but the ruby was perfectly clean. Something flickered inside the ruby. It might have been a trick of the light, then again it might not. |
Spircade picked up the bow, deciding to give it to her when he saw her next. He rolled his eyes and headed back home to fight with his father. He changed back to his regular form until he saw Aidelene a bit away from him. He then changed to the way she saw him again, knowing it would wear him out. he ran over to her to give the bow back.
