Name: Dorian
Sex: Male Supernautral ability: Premonitions Appearance: http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o...oodie-male.jpg Personality: A laidback kid with severe attention disorder. He can be a smartass, but he can also be over excited about things. Bio: Dorian was always somewhat of a troubled kid, but then he could also see things. And by things, stuff that didn't happen already. He would use it to his advantage when they came to him, until he could call on it whenever he wanted to. But one day it didn't help him, his parents were done with his problems so they sent him to a place for troubled kids. Ever since then, he has kept to himself, but occasionally watches a girl at the facility. |
Aubrey enterd her "new" bedroom with her mother. She slammed her stuff down on he bed grumbling to herself. Her mother looked at her. "If you cooperate then you don't have to stay in here long." Aubrey rolled her eyes. "There's nothing wrong with me, mom." She began to organize her things. She looked back at her mother who was still standing there. "The doctors said it'd be easier to adapt in my environment if you left. I'm agreeing with them, so go." She said. Her mother nodded and left without a word. Aubrey sat on her bed and threw everything on the floor. She didn't care about the mess. She just wanted to get out of there. She sighed closing her eyes.
Dorian heard all of the racket from the new girl as he walked through the halls. He poked his head into the room and looked at her cautiously. "Um ... are you okay? I mean aside from the obvious of being in this dump." The boy eased himself into the room slowly. In a calm voice, he said, "My name is Dorian. What's your name? It's nice to finally meet someone else in this hellhole for once." Dorian talked a lot when it came to girls, but this girl seemed different. Like she would damage him if he tried to hit on her.
Aubrey stared at Dorian. She scanned his features upon his face. He seemed to be normal. That surprised Aubrey. She thought only psycho teenagers came here. She turned her head, but shifted her eyes towards him "Does it look like I'm okay?" She snapped. "Sorry. I'm Aubrey." she sighed and stood up. "Are you the only one here besides me?" she asked. She crossed her her arms on her chest, just in case.
Dorian nodded at Aubrey's introduction. He didn't flinch when she snapped at him, but he didn't really know what she was implying. "Do you mean nuts? No, I'm not exactly crazy when it comes to these people here." He shrugged nonchalantly, but then he narrowed his eyes. "Are you crazy like these folks?" It wouldn't be the first time someone would come up to him act normal, then spazz out on him. Then he nodded again. "Yeah I guess I'm the only one here," he said looking around carefully.
Aubrey listened to him talking. She liked his voice for some reason. Maybe this place will be at least half-way standable with him around. "I'm not crazy, but they say I'm a Schizo." She then shifted her eyes away from him. "I refuse to believe it, though." Aubrey sighed, deeply. "Sorry. Don't worry about me, okay?" She walked out of the room, past him. She went downstairs and ran into one of the nurses. "Miss, did you clean up your room?" Aurey glared at her. "No." She was not about to deal with anyone. She looked around the house and soon found a crawl space. She fit herself in it. "I just want to go home." She whispered to herself. She pulled her knees to her chest and buried her head in them. She sobbed with tears pouring down her face.
Dorian nodded when Aubrey said that the people thought she was Schizophrenic, but he didn't believe it. She seemed too sane to be considered crazy. He reached out his hand hesitantly to place on her shoulder, but he didn't get a chance to since Aubrey left the room. He followed behind her quietly to make sure that she was safe and passed by the nurse and whispered, "I'll help her with the room. You should go check on the kid at the end of the hall. I heard he was going to try to kill himself." A nurse ran past him with the medicine cart and turned into a room. Dorian saw a foot entered the crawl space downstairs and he smiled. He knocked on the wall and whispered, "I don't think you should be in there. Mikey doesn't like people in his hole. Last person who went in there, didn't come out looking too pretty. Had scars running from their eye to the corner of their mouth," he said tracing it to illustrate the wounds of Mikey's victim.
Aubrey gasped when she heard a knock. She didn't want one of the teachers to catch her in there. She heard Dorian's voice and she sighed of relief. He began speaking of "Mikey's hole." Aubrey's eyes widened and began stumbling out of the crawl space. She already thought she was ugly enough without scars on her face. Aubrey stood up and slightly tripped. She landed in Dorian's arms. She blushed, but tried to hide it. "Sorry." Aubrey took a step back. "You can't be serious... about Mikey, I mean." She looked down, feeling quite stupid about herself for asking.
When Aubrey tripped into his grasp, Dorian's lips formed a thin line as he looked at down at her. Then when she asked him if what he said was true, he laughed and shook his head, "Nah, I was just trying to get you out of the hole. I guess my plan worked a bit too well." It felt weird having a girl in his arms, he held her steady and backed away from her by a couple of inches. "So tell me, are you feeling hungry or something? I can score you chips or something." Dorian motioned for her to follow him upstairs.
Aubrey giggled at him. She followed Dorian up the stairs. She didn't say anything even though she was hungry. She was still embarassed for falling in his arms, so she followed him to imply a "Yes" to his question. Her stomach had been rumbling since that morning, but she couldn't eat. Aubrey felt like she could eat now. A lot actually.
Dorian walked up the steps with Aubrey in pursuit and stopped at the first room by the stairs. This was his room and he'd been there for a couple of years, so he knew just about everything like the back of his hand. "So this is my domain," he said leaning back to look at the new arrival. "I keep my stash under the floorboard here. If you ever need my something like food, just come here." He pulled the board out and threw a couple of bags of chips to Aubrey. I think I just made a new friend, he thought to himself.
Aubrey saw Dorian pull out two bags of chips. "Woah." She finally said. "How did you jack this?" She opened the bag smelling the salt that came out of the bag. She started out nibbling and ended up scarffing a few down. It was silent and awkward in the room. Aubrey initiated a conversation. "So what are you in for? How long have you been here?" She said looking down at the bag of chips.
Dorian watched Aubrey fondly as she shoveled the chips into her mouth after eating them slowly. He put his chin between his thumb and index finger and thought about the snacks that were buried under his floor. A smirk broke out across his face and his voice was calm, "Eh, some things I acquired through specific means that is frowned upon." He leaned closer to Aubrey and whispered, "I snuck into the workers' break room and snagged many of bags of delectables." His grin was one of boldness and pride, but this disappeared when she asked why he was there. He knew he couldn't tell her the whole truth, but he opted to tell her a bit of it. "You know how there are fortune-tellers? Well lets say I got in trouble for dealing in one's business," he said emphasizing one's and he shrugged his shoulders. "I've been here for about 3 or 4 years, I think. So I mean I'm okay with being here. At least I know I'm as safe as I make myself."
Aubrey's eyes widened at Dorian's statement "Three or four y-years?" she said in shock. Does that mean I'll be here that long? The doctors told me a couple months, maybe." She sighed. "Anyway, You told your story I should tell mine." She shifted her eyes towards him. "I went to school like any other morning. And something was chasing me. I know it. I saw it. But... no one else could see it. I remember the person's face being disfigured and burnt away." They sent me here for trying to jump out a window to escape from a man who apparently wasn' t there."
Dorian fanned his hand in the air in a dismissive way. "It depends on how you act around here. If you can keep calm, you'll be out of here in no time," he said popping a chip into his mouth. His gaze was sharp when he looked at Aubrey. His inital thought was that maybe he was wrong about her. That just maybe she was crazy and that her mind was playing tricks on her, but then he remembered his talent, so to speak. When she finished, Dorian smiled faintly and said, "Come on. You're joking right? There is no way you can see the dead." He hesitated and began again, "I mean you don't really see them, do you?" He became slightly paranoid and swatted around his head to be sure nothing was around him.
Aubrey shifted her eyes to the floor as they widened. See ghosts? That can't be? Can it? "I... I never really thought about that, but does that kind of thing actually exist?" She looked up at Dorian. If she could see ghosts, then could he, as well? Or... does he have some other kind of power? Aubrey sighed. Well, the first thing she needed to do was get the hell out of here.
Dorian felt like he'd helped Aubrey, but also struck a nerve. He could see that she had something on her mind, but he didn't know what exactly. Telling the truth was not something that Dorian enjoyed doing on a regular basis. This moment, though, seemed like a perfectly good one to start. "I've heard of people being able to see such things, but I've never personally known someone who could. I can't see stuff like that," he said to clear any doubt in Aubrey's mind. And he continued, "You see, I can see the future, but not too much of it at once. I am only able to do so for a couple of minutes, 4 minutes tops." He stood up and walked over to his bed in a sluggish manner. Sitting down, Dorian stared at the ceiling with a glazed over look.
Aubrey stared at him for a while, taking in everything he had just stated. She put down the bag of potato chips. "So then... What kind of things have you seen?" She said, clenching her fists a little. She was shaking a bit and she was a little uneasy but she wanted to know more.
Dorian laid on his bed motionlessly as he tried to put his talent into words. "I can see ... what happens to me ... basically. It's very rare that I'll see something dealing with others. Normally, the people would have to be with me," he said with a sense of finality. He sat upright and tussled with his hair absentmindedly. Then he looked back at Aubrey and could tell that what he said got to her, both in what seemed like fear and intrigue, but he didn't want to turn her into a real mental patient. "Hey, have you seen any ghost around here? I mean if you do, I'm getting the hell out of here and you can come with me if you want." Dorian's face was of solid neutrality. No real emotion raced across his face, but his voice expressed his seriousness.
Aubrey shifted her eyes towards him. "I haven't really seen anything." Excitement got caught inside her eyes. She stood up and got close to his face. "You'd really let me go with you?" A bit of pink began to appear on her cheeks. She backed away a little bit. "Oh.. I-I'm sorry." She looked down. Aubrey felta little strange with this boy, but this could be fun. She smiled at him.
Dorian was glad to know that nothing was invading the home as far as he knew, but even his visions couldn't prepare him for what was about to happen next. Aubrey was in his face in the blink of an eye and if they got any closer, they would have been kissing. He tried to avoid her eyes knowing what this meant to her and nodded. "Yeah, I'm not leaving a sane person in this craphole. Well maybe the nurses and the doctor, but I'm not staying in here. That's all I'm saying right now." When she backed up from him, Dorian sighed slowly. "It's fine ... can you warn me when you are going to do that?" He cracked a smirk at what he said, but this girl was different. Different from anyone he'd ever met and there was no telling what things would follow, having the two together, but he was all for busting out of the place.
Aubrey giggled a bit. "Y-yes sorry." She smiled and blushed. "So how are we getting out of this place?" Before he could answer her eyes went black and she saw something over looming over Dorian. Her eyes widened. The figure was black and evil-looking. She began to shake at the shadow. It looked like it was about to attack him. Before it could touch him, she threw herself on him and the shadow hit her back. She cried out in pain and winced.
Dorian saw the blush on Aubrey's face and scratched his cheek. "Do I have something on my face?" He wiped his face on his sleeve to get what he thought was on there. To him, Aubrey's giggle was cute, but he wasn't going to admit it to her. When she asked about their escape, he looked up at the ceiling and slapped his legs thoughtfully before giving an answer. "Well we can go tonight. Meet me in ..." He didn't finish what he was saying because she tackled him out of the blue and he didn't know how to react.
(Sorry I can't post anymore today, I'll finish it whenever) |
(thats quite alright)
Aubrey cringed in pain. When the spirit had left, she began breathing heavily. What had just happened to her? She coughed. and got off of Dorian. "I am so sorry. Something was trying to attack you." She had thought about what she said and it sounded absolutely nuts. |
