"I never thought of it like that either, it was just something that came to me one day while I was deep in thought." he said to her and looked at her gently. "Most things that don't make sense, start making sense if you think about them for a while." he added.

Flutter smiled simply, her head leaning against a cushion behind her as she let out a soft sigh of sorts. It was rather relaxing, being there. When inside a house other than her own, she didn't have to think quite as much about war and the enemy- especially since she could keep an eye on a target just by being in that room. Her stomach roared abruptly, causing her to sit up quickly, lurched over a bit with a slight redness in her face. "Apparently, my stomach was thinking about food for too long..." She laughed nervously, turning to the other. "Might I bother you for a snack?"

Neer listened and chuckled. "Not at all, what would you like?" he asked her as he went over to the kitchen.

"Um..." she thought for a moment. "Can I look with you? I have a strange diet, so I'm a little embarrassed to just ask for sweets when I don't know if you even eat them..." Her face turned a slight red as she realized that, while saying what embarrassed her, she basically had done it anyway. Still, she followed him- just not as easily as usual, her stomach still growling to cause her a slight bit of annoyance.

Neer nodded and let her look around. Of course he had sweets, he had a major sweet tooth and always made sure to have plenty of sweets in the house. "Just take anything you like Flutter." he said to her kindly.

She laughed nervously, smiling anyway as she looked at the variety of available items in the kitchen. Seeing a simple box of cookies, she took two and put it away, taking a bite from a cookie soon after. Seeing as she liked sugar cookies, it worked out that there happened to be some. "Thank you very much. I'm sorry for the trouble."

"This was no trouble Flutter. I have a sweet tooth so I usually have a lot of sweets in the house." he said and grabbed a lollipop. "That's the reason I like Halloween...because the candy!" he said to her and smiled. He remembered he would always go trick or treating. He didn't do that anymore, but he still loved Halloween.

"What is Halloween? I've never been out much so I know little about the holidays usually celebrated." She looked at him curiously as she continued to eat the cookie she'd taken. "I happen to be on a high-sugar diet. Very high, actually. So I'm lucky you have that sweet tooth if it means the amount of sweets you keep in the house is high."

"Halloween is a day where during the night, people dress up for fun and go around asking for candy..." he explained to her and listened to what she said. "I see....why though?, if I may ask..." he asked her. "Oh, and don't worry Flutter, if you need something sweet, you can always come and get it here." he said to her.

"It's hard to celebrate a holiday when you're sick in bed, you know." Flutter replied with a smile. "So I don't get to know much about them. It sounds nice though. I mean...Free candy, you know? though I have a bad feeling it's mostly chocolate given out. I hear it's a common holiday candy. I rather dislike chocolate myself."

"The candy they mostly give out actually is hard candy...rarely chocolate now." he said to her. "I usually get chocolate from the store when I but some...but I'm not crazy about chocolate either." he said to her.

"My brother used to basically force me to eat chocolate as my food because he felt it was the easiest way to get me to eat sweets, but I ended up hating them in the end because he kept forcing them on me." She laughed. "Hard candies are okay, I guess. depends really." She thought on it. "Should I dress up at this 'Halloween' time for candy...? Or am I too old?"

"I think that if you're nineteen like me or older, you're too old to dress up and ask for candy." he said to her. "I don't know how old you are, but I don't think you're too old to give it a try." he added. "I see...well that's sad. I just never really liked chocolate, I was more into the jawbreakers and jolly ranchers..." he said to her. "Those were my favorite candy." he added.

"I like jolly ranchers. They're small and easy to eat, and they last longer then other candies." She smiled in response. "Maybe I should ask to try this year...But I wouldn't know what to dress as anyway, and I'd be just as happy eating cake at home most likely. We should have cake together sometime. That might be fun."

"Well...you can dress up in anything you want." he said to her and nodded at what she said about Jolly ranchers. "That is very true...they are very long lasting candies...you gotta love them!" he said and chuckled. "My favorite flavor is grape..." he said and thought about her cake invitation. "Sounds like fun...what is your favorite cake?" he asked her. "I like Carrot Cake...it's so good!" he said to her.

"I've never tired carrot cake... But the kind of cake I like is really uncommon in this area. My family is originally from Norway-" A lie she'd grown partial to came out as if on cue, "-and my favorite cake is one mama made a lot when I was small, from our home country. It's a type of herb cake, basically, though. Of common cakes, I really like strawberry short-cake...Mostly for the strawberries."

Neer listened to what Flutter was telling him. "A herb cake? I never heard of that." he said and was surprised to hear where she was originally from. "Norway? That's pretty far away..." he said to her. "Carrot cake is very good...you should try it sometime." he said and chuckled at her other favorite cake. "I like strawberry shortcake too actually! It's very sweet, thus satisfying my sweet tooth!" he said to her and smiled.

"And it has enough sugar so that I can eat it without any problems with my weird diet!" Flutter replied to his not about the strawberry shortcake. A giggle escaped her as she did so, adding, "Is carrot cake sweet? Or does it at least have substantial sugar content? I'm not sure if I'd be allowed to eat it..."

"Well, carrot cake is sweet...but not too sweet." he said to her and smiled. "It has some shreddings of carrot throughout the cake...so it's very good!" he said to her and chuckled at her giggle. "Your diet is a little weird...but there are a lot more weirder things in life I'm sure." he added.

She laughed a bit in response. "Oh trust me, I know my diet is weird. I also know there are stranger things in the world. But it doesn't make it not embarrassing that all I can eat is sweets...Especially once people take into account that I look like a stick for some reason..."

Neer looked at her and chuckled. "Well...I don't think it's weird that you're a thin person." he said to her and smiled gently. "I mean...I'm a thin guy and I don't find that weird either." he added. "You shouldn't care what people think or say about you...you know who you really are, you know why you are the way you are. You are a unique person and no one should ever tell you otherwise." he said to her.

"Well, I guess that's true. But considering I weigh about the same as an elementary school kid, if even, it can be sorta annoying. My weight rather bothers me... I can't seem to get any, and I actually could quite use it." She giggled a bit, smiling. "I think you're right though...Just because I'm a stick doesn't mean I'm bad. Or weak!" She nodded. "Thank you."

Neer smiled and patted her head. "Of course, I can tell you're a very strong person!" he said to her and chuckled. "You're welcome Flutter, that's what friends are for...they tell you the truth and make sure you are happy." he said to her. "To be honest, I've never really had a friend before...you're my first friend." he added.

"Since my closest 'friends' are more family...I suppose you're my first friend as well." Flutter giggled a bit, though internally a red alarm seemed to sound in her head with great fear. I know I shouldn't get too close to the client...But it may make this job easier. "So friends are there to tell the truth and make you happy? I didn't know that. That's good to know though."

"Well yeah...friends are there to make you happy and cheer you up when you're feeling down." he said to her. "Family is always the friend people grow up with." he said to her and nodded at what she said about family. "I was friends with my parents too." he said to her. "But sometimes there are things that just shouldn't be shared with any friends a person has." he added.
