Cadence heads down the hall silently, keeping himself slightly hidden. He's never been one of the most popular people in high school, and now into college, it's continued. He runs a hand through his hair, not wanting to be there. He gets outside the lecture hall and a few more popular boys trip him. He stumbles and swings his bag around, catching one boy in the chest. He then straightens and glowers. "Knock it the fuck off, douches."

Althea smiled some as she headed down the hallway, with a few of her friends. She had always been one of the popular people, she never really understood why but she didn’t really question it much. She glanced up, just in time to see what the guys had done; she never understood why they had to treat people that way. Sure she was popular but she didn’t go out of her way to make people’s lives a living hell, like they did. “You know, you guys are really pathetic sometimes” She said as she walked past them and into the classroom.

[[Ahhh, idea, maybe they should be assigned to a project together]]

Cadence rolls his eyes at the guys and drops his bag in the back of the room. He taps his pencil on the desk as the professor tells them that they're starting a group project, worth half of their semester grade. He sighs, looking annoyed. "Lovely," he mutters to himself. The kid next to him mutters back, "Shut up, faggot."Cadence just glares at him before the professor begins calling out the names. "Kyrell and...Lain." Cadence's head shoots up. 'Oh, no. Not the preppy chick...,' he thinks to himself, rubbing his temples.

Althea glanced up, and almost raised her hand to file a complaint, about who she had to work with. She knew the teacher wouldn't change her partner, and it would probably make the situation worse. It wasn't that she didn't want to work with him, she just had a feeling they weren't going to get along, and that he wasn't going to want to work with her. Well, all they had to do was get along long enough for them to get the project done, that was all she cared about. It seemed like they were going to need to work on it, in class, and at home, so in till the project was done, they would be spending a lot of time together.

Cadence sighs and gets up as the class groups themselves accordingly. He plops himself in the seat next to her silently. "Topic?" His voice is deep, a lot deeper than you'd expect on a nineteen year old. He eyes a few kids that are snickering at him distastefully. He seems not to like people over all and tends to avoid group projects.

Althea glanced over at him and smiled "Huum, well what do you want to do?" She asked. She wasn't picky, and almost anything was fine with her, as long as she didn't end up doing the project completely by herself, that was why she hated group projects so much. "And we should probably figure out who's house were going to meet up at" She said. She didn't care if it was her house, or his, which ever he would rather, she didn't want to up right suggest her house, and have him think something because of that.

Cadence ponders that for a moment. "How 'bout mental disorders and their effects on society?" He seems smart, even though he doesn't talk to many people. He then thinks about the other question. "Your place. My parents aren't really...friendly." He chuckles at his explanation, sheepish. He then pulls out his notebook, ready to write.

(Winging the class. So psych course is what popped into my head. XD)

"That works for me" She said. It sounded like a good topic, and it would be one that was easy to find information on. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all, he seemed nice, and smart, maybe just maybe the would be able to get along. "My place it is then, my parents are hardly ever home anyway" She said. She was usually alone in her house, so it wasn't a problem for him to come over. "What days are you free?" She asked

[[That's fine, sounds good to me]]

"Every day except Thursdays and Sundays." He nods, jotting something down. "What disorders do you think we should do? I mean, we can't do them all...We don't want a book." He chuckles at the thought of that. He then chews his lip, thinking. "OCD would be good..." He keeps thinking of disorders as he waits for her input.

"Alright, I'm free pretty much every day, if something comes up I'll let you know" She said. Ah, she would need a way to get in contact with him, and he would need the same. "Here" She said as she pulled out a paper and wrote down her phone number on it "I think OCD would work well, that affects society a lot, not to mention the person in particular" She said

Cadence rips off the top of his paper and writes down his cell phone number down as well. He hands her the number. "Don't I know it?" He shakes his head. "I have it, badly. It sucks." He ponders other topics, trying to find at least three.

"Thanks" She said as she took the number and tucked it away safely so she wouldn't lose it. "You do?" She asked. Well having someone with the disorder would make things easier, but then again, she didn't want to put his whole life story about having it for the class to hear "How about Depression and and and something else" She said. She couldn't think of another topic at the moment, but at leas they had two out of three down.

Cadence thinks for a moment. "How about bipolar, rather than depression. It's more erratic." He also knew a lot about that, because it runs in his family. He thinks he has it but never got a diagnosis. He chews his lip thoughtfully.

"Fine" She said. She didn't really see what the problem was with doing depression but she wasn't going to argue over it, she just wanted everything to go smoothly, and if that meant doing what he wanted, she would. "Anything else?" She asked

"Hm, the only other disorder that come into my head is Multiple Personalities, but I don't know if that'll work. And other than that I'm out of ideas." He chuckles, amused at that.

"Why wouldn't it work?" She asked. That seemed like a pretty good topic, there was a lot of information available for it, and it was a pretty broad topic, not to mention there was a lot of movies and books on it.

Cadence furrows his eyebrows. "Wouldn't the hearsay be too difficult to weed through? It's a very controversial topic...But if you want to try it, then let's go for it." He shrugs, easy to please. It seems like this is a class that interests him, which is why he's trying so hard.

"Because some people are convinced that it's not an actual disorder and doesn't actually exist?" She asked as she looked at him "I think even if it would be difficult, it would be an interesting topic to work on" She said. She wanted to get a good grade in this class, and for once it was actually a class she liked, so she wanted to make sure she kept up her grades in it "But if you don't want to, we can always pick something else" She said

"Yeah, but if you think we could find enough facts, we can try it. We can always switch if it proves to be...insurmountable." He chuckles at his word use. "But, let's go for it. Might as well 'go big or go home'." He shrugs, content. "Anything else we should decide?"

"That's true, we can always come up with some sort of back up topic, if that one doesn't work out" She said. There were a bunch of other mental disorders they could use, just a matter of coming up with one was hard "I don't think so, we have our topics, and where we'll meet after school" She said. She would have to give him, her address but that could wait a bit. "Do we need to know anything else right now?" She asked

"Hm...maybe how long we should make each part? And who should research each thing, so we have something accomplished before we meet next?" he muses. He seems to be letting her decide those parts, not really caring what he does.

"Well I think we can figure that out later depending on how much research is available and what we think we need in it" She said "I think we should both just research all three topics, were bound to both bring different things to the table" She said

Cadence nods. "That works." He leans back in his chair, glancing at the clock. He then pulls his hair back and puts it up into a loose ponytail.
