"Hmmm, maybe I should have made out with you sooner. You seem to be all fired up. It's kinda hot." He exhaled in her face. His peppermint breath was just a tad overbearing, but at least it was minty fresh, which was naturally better than foul smelling puppy breath.

His eyes hinted at a darker nature that was dormant within the young male. But just as soon as the darkness appeared, Lzerrah found himself head-first in a hole in the ground. "Who the hell put that tree stump there," he moaned. Wiggling his way out, he sat down on his behind. "Yuck!" Spitting out dirt, he looked up at Ren. "Wha? Don't give me that look! Or I'll... I'll kiss you again!" Smirking, he stood and rested an arm around her neck. "Or would you enjoy it too much?"

Twirling her hair around his finger, he 'pulled' her along the path. "If you get scared, don't hesitate to hold me." Just as soon as the words rolled from his mouth, the bushes rustled, which sent Lzerrah flying onto Ren. Clinging to her like a frightened puppy, he whimpered some. "Eat her! She's more meaty! I'm nasty tasting!" Smiling sheepishly, he clung to her even tighter. As the monster emerged from the bush, Lzerrah's hair stood on end and he almost screamed. But when the little bunny hopped out, he laughed. "Rennykins, there is no need to fear! You're prince Lzerrah is here!" Jumping out from her arms, he have a cheesy grin. "I only did that because I knew you were terrified. I figured it would help calm your nerves." Leaning into her, he placed a quick peck on her cheek. "Onward ho!" Pointing his sword down the path, he took a large step back. "Lady's first!"

Ren coughed slightly at his overbearing peppermint-y breathe, shaking her hair out of her eyes. "Don't even think about it, buddy," she said coolly. She sighed and pressed her hand to her forehead when he fell into the tree stump. "Lzerrah, I swear...." She had a feeling this was going to be a looooong night. She glared up at him when he asked about the kiss, but couldn't give a properly snappy reply as he dragged her down the path.

She almost shot him then and there when he suddenly attached himself to her- especially after saying that she could hold onto him if she got scared (Yeah, because Ren was soooo scared of the big, bad monsters *sarcasm*). She took a deep breathe and shook her head, trying not to give him any nasty looks. Be nice, Ren. Be nice.

"Yeah, I was terrified of the rabbit," she said sarcastically, rolling her eyes at him. "What happened to the guy from ten minutes ago," she muttered under her breathe. "I wonder if he'll come back if I kiss him again." If that would work, she would seriously consider it, but as she had no evidence that she would she wasn't going to play games. She raised an eyebrow at him, then unholstered her guns and led the way, walking as if it were a walk through the park.

"Lzerrah, I don't know where we're going," she said after a moment, stopping and turning to face him. "You need to lead."

"Oi woman, you're hopeless. However are we going to defeat what's his face if you can't navigate through foreign turf? I mean... how do you purpose we'll sneak into his fortress without using any maps of any sort? Let your spirit guide you. There is no need to know where we are. We know where we want to go and our feet will simply guide us there." Moving past her, he took it upon himself to lead the way. I'm beginning to regret this. Maybe kissing you was a bad idea.

His icy blue eyes [[used as a color reference]] glowed in the dimly lit forest. Demonic looking trees reached toward them. Large, tangled branches clawed through their hair. Roots that were looming off the ground taunted their legs and helped make the journey all the more difficult. His brightly blue colored hair [[again, just a reference]] became entangled in low hanging branch of a dead willow tree. In a failed attempt to untie it from the wispy vines, his blade sliced through the delicate hair. Strands dropped to the dark ground and seemed to weep as they would forever be alone in the evil woods.

Ducking under another hollowed out tree, Lzerrah raised a finger to his teammate. Moving to silently toward his lips, he hushed out a low "Shhhh." It barely made a nose in the gravely silent forest. But that didn't mean the lesser demons before them didn't hear it. In fact, they didn't, but one of the upper demons in the group did. However, he more or less
shrugged it off and called it a snake's dying words. Me? A snake? My, my. Have they ever picked the wrong creature for me. I'm more of a cat kind of man. Clutching his sword, Lzerrah jumped forward at the demons.

With just one of them dead instantly, Lzerrah looked over at the upper demon that was inches away from his death. "Tell me demon," he said twisting his sword into the monster more. With each twist, more of the foul smelling liquid called blood poured from the demon. "Where is the goat demon." His eyes looked menacingly at the wounded creature that was one with his sword.

"Like I would tell the likes of you!" Spitting into his face, Lzerrah shoved his blade into the monster's heart. What should have been a long screeching sound became muffled by Lzerrah's hand. Twisting the writhing monster's neck, a pop soon followed and the demon laid their lifeless. "You," throwing a knife at the lesser demon, Lzerrah smirked. "You little demon will lead us there. Just think of it this way, when I kill you I'll make sure it's painless." The shivering monster recoiled into a small hole in the earth. "Very well, my Heaven spare your soul."

A new color was added to Lzerrah's hair. Red. The blood of the poor demon dripped down his slender nose and then down off his chin. Dotting the earth below him, Lzerrah drew a light blood circle around the demons. "Your souls are free now. Be at peace, my friends." Kissing the earth, Lzerrah remained bowed for a second longer. Once done praying, he shifted onto his knees and then stood up. "I'm guessing we are close." His eyes drifted over to a lower valley. "The demon population here is thick. It can only mean two things. We're near him or we've caught ourselves up in the plotting of a human massacre by the hands of the demons."

Renata glared at him, her eyes narrowing. He was right- she wasn't on her A game. You let him kiss you, Ren, she reminded herself. She shook her long black hair out of her eyes and followed him, her eyes dark.

She stumbled her way through the forest, the path seemingly intent on tripping the smaller girl up. She was short enough to avoid the reach of most of the nasty vines and branches, but every once in a while one would drop out of nowhere and catch her in the face, or a monster root would try and take out her ankles. By the time they had come Lzerrah stopped her, her lip was bloody from getting smacked in the mouth with a huge tree branch.

She watched him as he worked, not batting an eyelash at the bloodspill. She kept an eye on him, watching as he interrogated the lesser demons. A sound in the bushes behind her caught her attention; slowly, she kneeled down, her hand sliding down her boot.

With a sudden explosion of movement, she drew a knife and launched it into the bushes as a demon tried to make a run for it. The knife caught him in the back of the right calf, causing him to tumble. With one last glance at Lzerrah, she ran to get to him before he could crawl away or call for help.

"Well, it looks like someone is eager for death," she whispered softly, kneeling down next to the struggling demon. He was a bit taller then her, marking him as one of the mid-level demons. The demon sneered at her, pushing himself up and attacking her. With a soft growl, she used his momentum to roll them over, ending up with her stradling his waist, the knife pressed to his throat.

"Hehehe. So you've come back to us, have you," the demon hissed in an impossibly deep voice, causing her to hesitate. "He'll be happy to see you again. Especially now that you've.... grown up. Oh yes, he'll enjoy you again." Ren's eyes widened as painful memories suddenly assaulted her, the brand on her back actually burning as if it were fresh.

The demon laughed again, snapping Ren out of her reverie. She stared at the demon for a second, her eyes betraying nothing, and then slit his throat. A strangled, gurgling sound escaped his throat as blood sprayed from the wound, splashing onto the right side of her face.

"He's dead," she growled, her voice shaking with rage. "Just like you." She dropped the knife into the leaves and lifted one hand to her eye, touching the blood gently and blinking the blood away. She looked at her bloodied hand for a second, her hand trembling slightly; That monster was dead, she had killed him herself..... but the demon's words had shaken Renata, touching on her worst fears. "He's dead," she whispered again, her head hung low. Her long hair created a curtain around her, giving her a chance to block out the world and recollect herself.

After a moment she got to her feet, picking her knife up out of the leaves. She stood over the demon she had killed, her face deviod of emotion. "I hope your soul burns in hell," she murmured softly, before turning and going back to where she had left Lzerrah.

She came back just as Lzerrah finished up, her face devoid of emotion. "Well, either way, we're going to take them out," she said flatly, her voice almost completely monotone. "Let's go." She waited, refusing to look at him. If one looked, they would see the deep chocolate color of her eyes bleeding to a dark red as she blinked more of the demon blood out of her right eye.
