Erik raised an eyebrow at his sister's outstretched hand as he remembered that he had a crush on her and he promised himself to take every chance possible. So he lightly and gently intertwined his hand in her's as he made them turn onto the street that had Dairy Queen. "Alright, what do you want? My treat," he said as they got inside and went up to the register and he got out his wallet.

shian smiled and looked at the selection. "umm, just a chocolate dipped cone," she ordered. getting her ice cream, she sat down at a table and started eating it.

"I'll have a browny batter blizzard with extra stuff," Eric ordered as he gave the girl the money and took his blizzard as he grabbed some napkins and sat down opposite of Shian at the table.

"This is nice, haven't had ice cream for a while," he said, so glad that he got paid from work yesterday.

Shian smiled. "just between you and me, i sometimes sneak out of class and get ice cream with some friends," she whispered and then continued to eat her ice cream happilly.

Eric froze and looked at Shian with a blank face. Unsure weather he should scorn her or congratulate her.

"Lucky...," he mumbled loud enough for her to hear.

a grin streched accross her face and she finished her cone. "that was good. thanks," she stated and then got up and went into the bathroom to wash her hands. she came back out and sat back down waiting for Erik to be done.

Erik smiled back and nodded. "No problem. Anything for you," he said as he waited for her to get back from the bathroom as he finished off his blizzard.

"So, what do you have for homework tonight? Don't forget to ask me for help on math when you need it," he assured Shian as he got up and threw his trash away and walked out with Shian, on their way home.

"not much, just english and some math. I'll be fine," she walked with a bounce in her step once again.

Getting home, Shian took her shoes off right away and set on the couch and turn the tv on. as she watched Doctor Who (( XD )) she took her pigtails out and brushed her hair.

"Ha haha I can see you like that show," Erik said as he sat down next to Shian as soon as he took off his shoes.

He got out his homework to get it over and done with so he could have plenty of free time later. Erik forgot that he was sitting right up against his sister. His heart was beating a little bit too fast, but he calmed down after twenty minutes on concentrating on something else.

Shian didn't care where her brother was, it was normal for people to be leaning on her. she finished brushing her hair and then started braiding it. this was when her brother being so close bothered her. "erik, give me some room. theres a whole couch to fill up, you don't need to be on top of me," she complained.

Erik frowned and turned his head to look at his sister. "I'm sorry," he said earnestly as he scooched to the other end of the couch and continued his homework.

she got back to watching tv and braiding her hair. once the show was over shian sighed and turned the tv off. she got up and walked to her room with her book bag.

she sat down and pulled out her english homework and started working on it.

Once Shian was gone, he sighed and stared away from his homework, thinking. He couldn't stop thinking about the fact that he was crushing on his own sister big time. And that was just wrong, but he couldn't help it. The way her hair bounced when in pigtails, the way her hips swayed, the way her smile lights up her eyes...

shian worked quietly on her homework and eventually got to her math. she tried to do a few problems and then looked the answer up in the back of the book. seeing that they were different than the ones that she got, she sighed and earased her work to start over again. a few minutes later she was fed up with getting the wrong answers.
"Erik!!! i need help!" she yelled.

Once he heard Shian call for him, he closed his book and ran up to his sister's room and jumped on her bed, a little hyper from the ice cream.

"So now you decided you want my help?" he joked with a short chuckle as he look down at her problems. "Okay, what problems do you need to do?" he asked her.

"I did english first.... anyway, i have to do these," she pointed out the problems in her book and sighed. "i hate math," she stated and then waited for her brother.

"It's alright," he said in a gently voice. "These are easy. Let me see what you're doing wrong," he said as he grabbed her notebook. "Well that's why. Shian, you have to add this side in every problem, remember?" he pointed out.

"where?" she leaned over him to look at her work and see what he was talking about. "oh! silly me. ok, thank you!!!"

Right when she leaned in closer, he nearly thought about kissing her. "Yeah," he said starting to get a little shaky as his heart was beating quite fast for the moment.

"hmmm," she took her homework back and sat up again. working on the problems she finished a few minutes later and then gave them to Erik to look over.

Erik looked down at her problems and nodded. "Keep it up, Shian. This is ten times better that ten minutes ago," he chuckled, hoping he didn't hurt her feelings.

He was drawn away when the house phone rang. "I'll get it," he said as he jumped off the bed and headed out to the hallway to grab the phone.

"Y'ello?" he answered.

When he returned back to Shian's room, he sat back down in the same spot as before and sighed. "Mom says there's an emergency surgery she can't pass up. So she won't be back for a few more hours. So she wants me to make dinner. What d'ya want?" he asked.

Shian looked upset at the fact that mother wouldn't be home for dinner. "Um... just a potpie is fine for me," she replied and put her finished homework away. She grabbed her pillow and hugged it. her and mother used to be so close, but ever since dad died, and she's had to take up so many hours, she hasn't been able to talk to mother.
Shian sighed.

Eirk nodded as he wandered if there were any pot pies left in the freezer or would he have to make some from scratch. Then he noticed how sad Shian looked. He moved close and placed a hand on her shoulder. "I know how you feel," he said in a gently tone. "At least I'm here...?" he pointed out, trying to lighten up the mood.

shian smiled, "it's not the same though. sorry." she shook her head trying to ignore her feelings. "So, can i help you with anything?" she asked.

Erik shrugged. "Oh, I'll just go ahead and start on supper," he said as he then left.

After he made his chicken pot pie from scratch, he yelled up the stairs for his sister as he set the dinner table and grabbed four cans of coke and set them in the middle of the table.
