Shian came down stairs in new clothing. she had a strapless black and purple corset on and a purple skirt that went down to mid thigh. "how do you like it? this is my fairy outfit. I can't wait to finish it. once i'm done, i'm going to find a field of flowers and take some pictures," she stated before sitting down and realizing four cans of coke were on the table.
"Um... are you really that thirsty?" she asked.

Erik smiled. "You look beautiful. And that sounds like a good idea," he replied as he place a pot pie on their plates.

"Oh. Two cans each since they're so small...," he said as he gave her a guilty look and shrugged.

shian laughed at the comment on the cans and then started eating. "this is good," she stated after swallowing her food. after finishing, she waited for her brother to get done; then she took the plates and did the dishes. it was only fair after all.
"So what shall we do while we wait for mother to come home?"

Erik was shocked at what Shian had just asked him. "Uh...you want to do something with me?" he asked her, shocked. "Um...we could watch a movie...we could just talk...?" he stated.

"i'm up for anything. which would you rather do?" she grabbed a cookie from the cubboard and munched on it slowly, making it look somewhat seductive without meaning to. she's a girl, these things come naturally.

Erik gulped loudly, trying to take his eyes away from how she was eating the cookie. It was teasing him horribly. "Umm...we can just...talk," he said.

He wouldn't be able to sit through a movie with her.

"ok!" she sat down on the couch and put her feet up so that if she wanted, she could hug her knees. shian waited for her brother to sit. once he did, she asked, "so, what do you want to talk about?"

"Umm...," Erik started. "I need to get something off my chest. I have a crush on you," he gasped out.

the room fell silent for a few minutes before shian spoke. "Um, i don't think i heard you correctly," a short, nervous laugh came out of her. "you said you like... my friend Yui....?" she then said in a somewhat hopefull voice.
her heart ached as she tried to tell herself that her feelings were not normal.

Erik frowned. "No, I like you!" he said, getting a little short not with her but with himself.

Shian's heart was racing. she wasn't sure what to say to him. Part of her wanted to leap into his arms and the other part wanted to tell him he's a dumbass for being stupid.
silence filled the room again as shian thought of what to say. "b...but you're my... brother," she finally stated, denying her own feelings once again.

Erik looked away and down and let out a sigh. How could he have been so stupid? He then got up. "Sorry, I shouldn't have said that," he murmured, his back to Shian and ignoring her stuttering words. "I'm gonna go upstairs and get ready. I'm gonna go for a walk," he said as he hurried away from Shian.

Once he slammed his door, his back rested against the door and he was gasping for air. How the hell could I get so freaking dumb!?

Shian sat on the couch quietly. she looked around the room as tears formed in her eyes. Tears? why am i crying? she thought to herself. I don't love my brother like that... do i?
shian wipped the bottom edges of her eyes so that the tears wouldn't roll down her face. she then got up and walked up the stairs and stopped in front of her brother's room.
"Erik?" she said just above a whisper.

Just as Erik was about to put on his running shirt, he heard Shian's voice. But he also heard hurt and horror in her tone. "Come in," he said with a sigh as he straightened out his top and adjusted his lopsided socks.

she opened the door and stepped inside, closing it behind her. Her body was trembeling a bit and her heart was beating fast again. she bit her lower lip trying to think of something to say to him. "I... uh...." was all that she managed to get out. she mind and heart seemed to be at war and this confussed her greatly.

Erik stared at her, waiting for her to finish what she was going to say, as he slipped his black tank top over him, adjusting his shorts. When she didn't say anything further, Erik sighed and looked away. "What, Shian?" he asked her in a gentle but impatient tone.

"nevermind," she said then she left the room and went to her own, closing the door behind her. The tears that she tried so hard to keep back started to fall. she was so confussed about everything and she just wanted to disappear. shian laid down on her bed with her face in her pillow so that her sobs weren't so loud. Nothing made any sence at the moment and she needed time to think about what's going on with her feelings.

Erik sighed and hurried out of his room after Shian. But when he heard her sobs, his hand froze before it knocked on the door. He sighed and lightly placed his hand on her door, looking down. She needed some time alone, he could tell. He then straightened up and sighed. "Mom'll be back in half an hour. I'm going for a run," he said as he hurried down the stairs and out the door.

shian fell asleep and didn't wake up until around 1 in the morning. she got up feeling better about herself and took a shower. she then sat in her room with her computer and started talking to friends in chat rooms.
it was normal for her to be up at wierd hours. in fact, she normally only gets about 3 hours of sleep each week.
she was asking her friend about the situation she was in but of course did not mention anything about the guy being her brother. getting some helpful advice was what she needed.

After Erik's shower, he rattled the towel through his hair to get it to dry, making his hair look tossed. He sighed as he laid down in his bed, thinking about Shian. Of course she was his sister...but they were human, right? And he felt as if his heart belongs to her and that he was falling for her. It's just a crush, he assured himself as best as he could.

He sighed as his mother came into his room. "Shian's sleeping and I saw that you were up," she said as she sat down on his bed. "How was school?" she asked him.

"Good, I bought Shian ice cream afterwards and made her chicken pot pie for dinner," he said as he sat up. "How was work?" he asked her.

She sighed and rolled her eyes. "Tiring. You should get to bed. School tomorrow," he pointed out as she kissed Erik's forehead and walked out to get a shower.

Erik sat back in his bed and his thoughts drifted back to Shian slowly as he fell asleep.

Shian was up as usual and finishing getting ready for the day in the bathroom. she tried to get in before everyone else was up so that way she could take as much time as she needed. she was having some trouble getting her pigtails to be the exact height on both sides and this angered her.

Sounds of growling coming from Shian's stressed body awoke Erik. He sighed and rubbed his tired face as he looked at his clock and saw he had about three more minutes before his alarm clock would go off. He sighed and got up as he made his way into the bathroom, squinting at the light.

"What's wrong?" he asked as he saw Shian's stressed face focus on her second pigtail. He then let out a chuckle.

"Don't laugh at me!" she whinned. shian turned toward her brother, "please help?" she asked.

"Sorry! Uh...what do you need help with?" he then asked her as he walked closer to her. "And if your hair isn't cooperating with you, just put it up in a bun or a ponytail," he then added.

shian made a poutty face at him before turning and looking at her self in the mirror again. "but i want the pigtails. pleeeeeeeeaaaaaase?" she tried again, turning around to face him once more.
