Erik jumped back a little when she turned to face him and their faces were centimeters apart. "Okay. Did you re-brush? Did you wet your hair? Maybe your mind is unable to focus on your hair at the moment. So, calm down and focus on your hair," he told her in a soothing voice.

she sighed and looked at herself in the mirror again, taking the messed up pigtail down and getting that said of her hair to be perfect again. she put the hair tie in again. it was a little better, but not perfect. getting aggrivated again, shian took both of her pigtails out and walked out of the bathroom.

Before she walked out of the bathroom, Erik grabbed her wrist gently to stop her. "Hey, what's up?" he said, concerned.

Shian looked Erik in the eyes, then turned her head trying to hide the rush of blood to her cheeks. she gulped quietly before speaking, "I just can't... get my hair up. that's all."

"There's usually a reason when that happens," he pointed out as he then let go of her wrist.

Shian took a deep breath and then saw their mother come up the stairs about to ask them what they want for breakfast as usual. "it's just one of those days," she answered quickly and then turned to mother. "Um, all just have toast with butter. thanks mom!" she smiled and went into her room to finish getting ready. she searched through her jewlery for something that matched her outfit.

"I'll just have a banana," Erik answered.

"Are you sure you want nothing else?" she asked.

"Orange juice."

Erik picked out jeans and a tee shirt and rustled his hair. He was ready for school in no time.

when shian found the accessories she wanted, she stepped out of her room and walked down stairs. she took her toast and waited for her brother and mother to be finish getting ready so she could go to school.

Erik entered the kitchen, bright and awake. "Ready?" he asked them both.

Their mother chuckled. "Come on or you'll be late," she told them.

Shian got out of the car and closed the door, looking around for her friends. She walked into the school and went straight to the stairwell that was never used. she got up in the window ciel and sat there looking outside. Her and her friends were the only ones that used the staircase because they able to slip into class late without being noticed.
as she sat quietly thinking about her stories, footsteps came closer. Jason came into view and stood next to shian in a way that she could not get away easily. "can i help you jason?" she asked, her voice sounding irritated. next thing she knew, Jason was pinning her to the wall, kissing and gropping her. Shian let out a scream that made Jason angry. He moved her to a different wall roughly. her head hit the wall sending the room into spirals as she tried to stay conscious long enough for someone to arrive.

Erik wanted some time alone. He needed just a little more time to think. So, he decided to take the stair case that no one ever takes. He opened the door and started to make his way up to the landing before the nest set of stairs. He froze when he heard a faint scream. He hurried up the stairs to find Jason forcing himself on Shian.

"Step away from her," he said in a very strong and stern voice as he hurried over to Jason, forced his to look at him, and punched Jason right across the face. "You keep your damn hands off of her!" he warned him as he stood in front of Shian to protect her.

Jason took a few steps back, shocked. he wiped his nose to find blood streaming out of it. he glared at Erik before charging into him, tackeling him to the wall right beside Shain.
Shian flinched as her brother hit the wall next to her. "Jason stop!" she yelled as loud as she could. A teacher close by heard all the commotion and ran in to see what's going on. "BOYS!" he yelled. Jason let Erik go and looked at the teacher. "GO TO THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE NOW!"
Jason huffed angerly and walked off to the principal's, getting some paper towel on the way. the Teacher went over to Shian and helped her get to the nurse's office.

A loud groan escaped Erik's mouth when he felt a shock of pain as he was pushed up against the wall roughly. Erik tried to push Jason off but it seems that Jason was far too strong for him. He was so thankful when a teacher broke the fight up.

..::Twenty Minutes Later::..

"So, I wanted to talk to you only you," the Principal said as Erik sat in one of the seats facing the Principal's desk. "Tell me, what all happened and I know you are a truthful boy," the Principal then said.

Erik huffed as a headache was drawing close. "I heard a scream as I came up the steps and saw...Jason...forcing himself on my sister. I tried to get him off of her but he was too strong so I punched him because Shian looked hurt. Then he pushed me into a wall," Erik said as he adjusted the ice that he put to the back of his head where it hit the wall hard.

The Principal nodded, thankful that Erik had told her what had all happened. "Thank you. Jason will be suspended....." The Principal wrote down everything Erik said and dismissed Erik. "If you want, you can go ahead and check on your sister in the nurse's office," she added.

Erik nodded his head as he got up and walked out of the Principal's office and down a few doors to walk into the Nurse's office. On one of the cots was Shian as the Nurse was checking her out.

Shian laid still. the nurse had told her to try and stay awake while she checks things. her eyes started to roll back just before she heared footsteps coming towards her. she bit her lower lip to try to keep awake.
"hello," the nurse said, acknowledging that he was there.
Shian wanted to sit up and see who it was but her head hurt too much.

"Mr. Brown said I could come and check up on my sister," Erik told the nurse as he stepped up to the other side of the cot. "Hey, Shian, how're you doing?" he asked her with a soft smile.

"Other than the fact that my head is spinning and i want to close my eyes and sleep it off? I'm fine. you?" she asked, still laying there. she looked at her brother out of the corners of her eyes. shian's eyes were red from crying at the pain and the shock of everything that happened and her lower lip was bleeding from bitting it so hard. her arm trembled as she grabbed his hand for comfort.

"I'm sorry...it could've been worse if I hadn't got there," he pointed out. "I'm good. Mr Brown's trust in me came in handy. He's going to get suspended," he then told her as he then lightly grabbed onto her hand closest to him.

shian smiled from the good news. the nurse then turned to the two, "alright, after getting a fax from the hospital, i can now say that you'll be fine, Shian. But if you two would like to go home and rest, you may," she stated with a smile.
Shian looked at her brother then the nurse. "I'll go home, i don't think i could last the day with everything spinning."

Erik smiled. "I'll take you home and stay with you until mom gets home from work," he told her as he helped her sit up as slowly as possible.

Shian got up and they walked home. she leaned on her brother the entire way. although it did not help much since she almost fell several times and they had to stop every 10 feet for a few minutes. She was trying to fight the urge to just pass out until they got home.

"Do you want me to carry you?" Erik asked, willing to lend an even better helping hand. "We're only half way there," he pointed out. Each time she nearly fell, Erik caught onto her flawlessly and helped her get her balance back.

Shian looked at him, "that would be wonderful." when he picked her up, she wrapped her arms around his neck and laid her chin on his shoulder. "Erik?"

He picked her up as if she weighed like a feather, which she kind of did. He held her tightly as he turned onto a street that was three streets away from their house. "Hmm?" he replied.

"Remember last night? when you told me you had a crush on me?" shian asked, she was starting to pass out and she could feel it coming.
"well, I didn't understand it then... but i do now... I love you Erik... i... want you... by me now... and... forever," she stated just before her grip loosened and she passed out.

Erik just smiled as she slowly fell asleep, telling him these things. Then he tried to assure himself that she was just talking nonsense.

When they got home, he hurried upstairs with Shian still in his arms as he carefully laid her in her bed.
