"Eliza Blake Ruben!" Eliza woke up to yelling in her ears. She rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and looked up to find her mother standing over her with her arms on her hips and her face set in an annoyed position.
"Huh?" She murmured, still half asleep.
"Eliza, get up! Look at your clock!" The yelling continued. She groaned and turned on her side, looking at her beatles alarm clock she had gotten on her last birthday. "Its 8:30! School starts in 30 minutes! And your not dressed, you haven't eaten and-"
Eliza bolted up, throwing the covers off of her body and hopping her way over to her vanity where her clothes for the day lay. "Mom, I'll be fine. I'll ride my bike." Her mother threw her arms up, grumbling about how untidy her daughter was, and stormed out of the room angrily. Eliza wiggled into a black and red dress, pushed her feet through her new striped tights, threw on a large jacket and slipped into her boots. She ran down the stairs like a bolt of lightning, grabbing her bag, her hat, and a piece of toast.
"Don't come home without Jack!" Her mother yelled after her, as she jogged out of the door and started peddling on her bike.
"Alright mom, love you!" She waved from behind, keeping going.

"Who's Jack?" Robert rode beside her, As he did every morning. He didn't really know her, at all. He just rode with her. He remembered his morning in his head.
His phone vibrated and this woke him up. He had taken his time picking out his morning clothing, and brushed his teeth. He took a shower the night before, so that was off his morning list. He had toast with jelly for breakfast.
"I've been working on a drawing lately... If you'd like to see it." It was a drawing of her, And her hair blowing behind her, as if she was riding a bicycle... Of what he knew of her, he admired. He liked how she was different, Not girly, nor boyish. He liked how she didn't seem to care.

Eliza heard the voice of one of her neighbors, Robert, and jumped slightly, surprised. He rode to school by her everyday. She knew him as a devoted drawer. She smiled at him with her piece of toast between her teeth and nodded her 'hello' to him. After she swallowed her last bite, she looked him over, as if noticing him for the fist time that day. They never really talked during school, which saddened her a bit since she knew he was such a great guy. "Sure thing, chicken wing." She nodded.
When they got to the school, she parked her child sized bike in her usual spot and hopped off, leaning against it slightly, waiting to see his drawing.

He smiled at her cuteness, as she had her toast in her mouth and looking surprised. He liked those things about her. He frowned as he didn't know who Jack was, and she forgot to answer, But he forgot about him too.

He slammed his breaks on and roughly put his bike in the parking area, and chained it up. "Bike are like slaves... We use them and chain them up..." He frowned sadly at his simile. He dropped his book bag and dug through it, Pulling out a binder. "You can look at them all, Tell me what's your favorite?" He hid the drawing of her among all his other random ones, So she could be surprised.

Robert handed her the binder, "Better get to class now..." He had a good twenty minutes, Just didn't want to stick around for her reaction. He hugged her, Why did I just hug her? Now I look desperate.., and walked away slowly.

Eliza tilted her head at his strange simile and when she thought about it, it did make sense. She took a look at her bike before taking the binder from his outstretched hand. She nodded slowly, and held the binder close to her, making sure nothing would happen to it. When he hugged her, she was so surprised, she forgot to hug back. As he walked away, she watched his back, wondering how she must look at the moment. At the last second, she called out his name. "R-Robert!?"
Wait...What did I want to say? She thought, feeling queasy suddenly. Before she had a chance to see him turn around, she shouted "Nevermind!" and started walking in the opposite direction.

During lunch, Eliza took her usual place under her favorite apple tree. She took off her bag, and unzipped her jacket, still hot from dance class. She picked a ripe looking apple from the tree before finally turning down and looking through Robert's binder. She hadn't yet had a chance to, and she had really been wanting to all day. She took a bite of the apple, then set it atop her bag, not really caring if it became dirty. She opened the cover carefully, and began flipping through the pages. They were all amazing, just as she had expected them to be. She smiled at each one, laughing even at a few. He was such a fantastic artist. She stopped laughing when she turned a page. She even frowned slightly. It was of her. Her long brown hair was blowing away from her in the wind, as if she was... "Riding a bike." She murmured under her breath. Which is really just about the only way that Robert knew her. Riding a bike... She tore out the picture of her, and put it in her folder, hoping he wouldn't mind if she kept hold of it. He probably won't notice...anyways She shrugged to herself. When she finished looking through it, she continued to munch on her apple, and waited for lunch to end.

Robert's day was fairly quick, All he had was art art art. Computer arts, Painting, and drawing. Drawing was is focus though. It took awhile for the day to end, He wanted to see her. Why did I hug? Why? You big idiot. He went on merrily with his day.

When the day ended, He stopped at the bike bench, Seeing her's was still there. Robert waited on Eliza. Jack's got to be her boyfriend, That's why she didn't answer, I know it. He was nervous and couldn't stop repeating in his head that Jack was her boyfriend. and that all he was to her was a friend. He watched as she made her way to the bicycle parking. As she exited the doors, and walked down the long sidewalk in the big campus yard. People all around her, She didn't stop to talk to anyone and this made him hopeful. Man, What I'd give to dance with her...

Eliza skipped down the steps, away from the building, not stopping to talk to anyone, and had her eyes set straight on the bike rack. When she noticed Robert sitting by the bench she smiled. Did he wait for me? She thought. And then she remembered what was in her hands and understood. Oh, he wants his binder... "Hey, Robert. Sorry I made you wait for this." She frowned, handing him his binder back. "I've gotta say, you really are an amazing drawer." She smiled at him one last time and caught sight of a nearby clock. "3:30!?!?" She gasped.

"I wasn't waiting on my binder, More on your answer." He admitted, standing up and flipping through it, "I'm missing my favorite one." He grinned at her. "It's of a girl I know, She was riding on a bike, metabolically and obviously." He went on, Adding the extra words to sound smart.
He unchained his bike and hopped on, Pulling his bag around and putting his binder in, "That's okay, You didn't have to steal it, I was going to give it to you anyway." He grinned and kicked off and peddled, he wasn't going to go far without her.

Eliza followed after him on her bike, catching up with minimal effort. Then she giggled a bit and scratched the back of her head "Oh...erm...I'm sorry for taking it, I just, Uh, I liked it a lot." She confessed, noticing how smart he sounded just then. She looked at where she would usually turn to go home and frowned. "Uhm... I'm not going home straight away. Wanna come with me this way? I won't be long, promise. I just have to pick up someone." She smiled, hopefully.

"Oh... Jack... Uhm, I don't think I should be there when you go see your boyfriend," He was saddened and had a hurt look on his face. He was about to go the other way, but wanted to hear what she had to say, so he slowed down a bit, before getting to the spot, so where ever he had to go, he wouldn't miss.

Eliza slammed on her brake when she heard the word 'boyfriend'. "Y-You think Jack is my boyfriend?" She asked, trying her best to keep a straight face. She smiled and shook her head. "Than you really need to come with me." She laughed, and continued forward, hoping that he would follow.

He looked worried when she slammed on her breaks, And followed her. The road was long... ish. And had taken longer than she said. But he enjoyed the sights he got to see. He was confused now, No idea who Jack was.

Eliza looked around the street, watching all the signs that she passed. When she found the one that read "Sunny Day's Child care" She turned in and parked her bike. She looked back to Robert with a sorry look in her eyes. "It might have been longer than expected, sorry if you get into any trouble. I'll help explain to your parents if you really do get-"
"ELLY!!!" A perky little boy with osey cheeks and sandy blonde hair came running up to Eliza and she smiled.
"Jack!" She picked him up, twirling him around once and setting him on her hip in a motherly fashion. "Robert, this is my little brother, Jackson."
"Jack!" He started squirming when his name was said, and Eliza put him down. She looked around for awhile more and turned back down to him.
"Jack, where's Ms. Kimmy?" She asked.
Jack pointed to the building and made "Mh. Mh. Mh" Sounds. Eliza smiled and looked back at Robert.
"Would you mind watching him for just one second? I'll be right back, promise." She smiled.

"Uhm. No I don't mind..." Robert wasn't good with kids, but her could try. "He's cute." As she sat him down and walked in the building he tried to make conversation, But Jack seemed to be shy, And began to cry, "Oh no no! Please stop!" Robert begged, Unsuccessfully.

Eliza went in to find Jack's teaher, while outside, Jack was starting to have a fit. He hid behind Elly's bike and stared at Robert. "Are you mean to Elly?" He asked, crying. Nobody was allowed to hurt Elly. Jack would protect her. "Are you a bad guy!?" Jack gasped, eyes growing wide with fear.

"Oh no no, I love Elly- I mean, She's a good friend, I wouldn't let anything happen to her. Jack, I promise." He tried to seem nice, and strong. He was now down to Jack's size. "Do you want to see my pictures I drew? I can try and draw one of you." He offered, Maybe this would make him come out and be cute some more.

Jack's eyes were shifty at first, weighing the facts on weather he should trust him or not. "Okay..." He said after awhile. He moved out from behind Elly's bike and sat next to Robert. "Draw me with a cape! Like batman!" He grinned.

Robert smiled, "Okay, I'll get right on it, Tonight. I'll have it too you tomorrow? It will be my top priority, Just for you buddy." He didn't know how to talk to little children... It was awkward for him.

It was just before Jack was about to plummet Robert with a ginormous hug that Eliza came back, carrying a large bike seat for jack. She noticed how Jack was smiling so wide, and raised her eyebrows at Robert. "Uh... Thanks, Robert..." She laughed, semi-expecting Jack to be pulling Roberts hair out by now. Jack ran to Elly, clutching onto her leg as she hulled the seat over her bike, and clamped it on. She then picked Jack up, and buckled him in.
She walked over to Robert then, and looked around awkwardly. "Uh, thanks again. I know he can be a bit...of a handfull sometimes." She said. She then stood around quietly contemplated what she should do to show her thanks. She quickly gave him a hug, making Jack start to whimper. "Elly! I want mommy!"
Eliza blushed and went back to him. "I know, I know. We're leaving righ now." She sighed, hopping on, and starting to ride. Then he told her about how Robert was going to draw him tomorrow, which made her smile and glance over at him. She mouthed 'Thank you' again, and let Jack continue to blabber on.

Robert had continuing smile on his face, not bothering to say your welcome, Because it was his pleasure. He liked Jack. He was looking forward to this one. He listened to Jack go on, and this mad the smile on his face bigger. He was going to make him standing on top of a building, With JackMan written across his chest. A mask on his face, around his eyes, and his hair a little messy. JackMan's cape would be flying behind him, And making him look epic.
Once they reached the houses, Robert said, "It's no problem. Listen, Jack, Pick an animal, Your most favorite one." Robert was going to incorporate the animal in the drawing somehow.

Eliza hopped off her bike when they reacher her house, and unbuckled Jack as he waved his arms in the air towards Robert. "A dinosaur!!!" He giggled, slightly tugging on Eliza's bangs, which made her hold him out at arms length and give him a look that made him nodd and calm down. Eliza turned to Robert, and smiled once more, then held up her finger to wait.
She quickly ran inside and let Jack to his room, then skipped back outside in a matter of no more than a minute due to her long dancer's legs. "Uh..." She pulled out a photo of her and her brother at a dinosaur theme park. "Here. This will make him go nuts." She smiled. "Thank you again." Then she lightly leaned forward and kissed his cheek, putting the picture in his hand at the same time. After that, she ran towards her house, waving at him from behind. "See you tomorrow!" She called.

Robert took the photo and smiled as she kissed his cheek. Looking at it, He saw the little boy with millions of dinosaurs, He was buy a T-Rex, And he guessed this was his favorite. He went home, and worked so hard, He tried to make this perfect. He gave a huge T-Rex leaning rawring against it.
The next morning he waited on Eliza to come out her house. He waited in her drive with the picture. When she came out he handed it to her. "Think he will like it? I don't know, I should have done something different with the dinosaur, and not making it evil. Oh god.. He isn't going to like crap, I messed up. Give it back, I am going change it. Oh no. He is going to hate me, I can't change it now without redoing it all. I ruined it oh no.."

Eliza skipped down the steps of her house into her driveway, finding Robert waiting for her. She smiled, seeing the picture in his hands. When she reached him, she took it from him and smiled. She was just about to say "He'll love it!" until he started spouting his nonsense about it not being right. She grabbed both of his shoulders and looked at him straight. "Robert... Calm down, Jack will love it." She smiled. "This means a lot to him, thank you." She sighed, looking down at it, imagining Jack's face when he got a hold of it. "He's already at pre-school, but I can give it to him after school if you don't want to come all that way again." She offered.
