Name: Kuratu Sugisaki
Age: 31 (medical degrees take twelve years to get)
Sex: Male
Appearance: Light blue hair and blue eyes; tall and muscular, though not obviously so. Always wears a light jacket over a T-shirt and faded jeans. [Notes about his appearance: he was originally created for a more fantasy setting before another version of him was made for the real world, and I haven't been able to imagine him with any other hair colour.]
Background: Kuratu lived a normal life until he was fourteen. At that point, his parents died, leaving him with no home and no relatives to go to. He lived on the streets until starting university and getting his medical degree, and though still early in his career, has already shown himself to be quite adept at it.

Name: Janesa Jefferson
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Bio: Janesa was born in Germany, but her family
moved elsewhere just after her first birthday so she
doesn’t remember much. She knows about her birthplace as
she studied it even though geography wasn’t her thing. Nor
was math.
A few years ago she found out she had been adopted, but she
wasn’t sure if it was her real father who had adopted her. He’d
passed away many years ago so she couldn’t ask. Her mother
had passed away while giving birth to her according to the story
her Grandfather told her before his death. Her Grandmother was
long gone, too. So… She didn’t really have anyone left in her family…
Appearance:
Other: She just graduated from medical college.

Kuratu stepped off the bus with his coffee in one hand and a bundle of notes in the other. He was working a particularly difficult case, and had been faxed some lab results at three that morning. Now, he wondered how to break to the patient's family that it was brain cancer. That also meant going down to Oncology to tell someone there...
Kuratu was so occupied, and so tired from the early morning, he nearly collided with a nurse, and had to stop suddenly. 'Aah...sorry,' he said.

Janesa toppled a bit backwards as the doctor bumped into her. Luckily she wasn't holding anything yet. She was actually just starting her shift and was almost rushing to another room to deliver a baby hence the backwards topple. "It's no problem doctor. We're all busy here doing things. And also tired it seems." She was observing his face as she noticed how tired he looked. "Like you for example... Feeling okay?" She wasn't in that much of a hurry to deliver the baby. There was at least two hours before the action came. She was just going to grab a few blankets. That was all.

Kuratu grinned a little, happy a collision had been avoided. 'Yeah, I'm fine,' he said. 'I just had an early morning. Very early. Yourself?'

"Just a bit busy here. Babies to be delivered here, blood or medicine transfusions there... Oh and a big mess in the hallway. One of the nurses wasn't feeling so good after a blood test she had to give someone and didn't quite make it to the washroom." She stuck her tongue out in the cute 'oops' way as she stifled a giggle from the action she witnessed. She didn't know why, but when people made a mistake it almost made her laugh. Good or not.

Kuratu chuckled gently. 'I'll let you get to that baby then. I'm afraid I don't have very good news to give someone,' he added, sighing slightly.

"Huh... I heard something about cancer... Am I right?" She looked up at the man who was easily two feet taller than her. "The baby isn't due for hours. So for the time being that was my next assignment. To assist a doctor with bad news... How ironic. I got lost though and couldn't find the room." She blushed. Being new on the job wasn't easy when they made the newbies find everything themselves. Or expect them to know where everything was in the first place. That was worse.

Janesa followed the doctor as she watched everything around her. She figured she'd try a memorizing method or something... Wasn't guaranteed to work, but she thought she'd try anyway. "So how long have you worked in this hospital?"

'This is my second year here,' Kuratu said. 'I came here right after getting my degree. You're still very new here, right?'

"Yeah. This is my first week. I just graduated from college this time last week... Still getting the hang of things. Lots of rushing around here and loud noises. Should be used to them by now, but... Guess not..." She embarrassed to say that to anyone.

Kuratu gave her a gentle smile. 'You must've interned at a smaller hospital, eh?'

"You could say that. It was more of a doctor's office, though. Only one floor and about ten rooms. Not very big. Compared to here anyway. This one floor would have counted as another floor for that place."

"Um... Davidson... Devon Davidson I think... In his mid forty's or so..." He was a bit odd, but didn't want to admit it just in case this doctor was a fan of his. If it was the same doctor... She didn't want to offend anyone here and give the wrong impression in her first week.

'Ah, yes, that was him. Bit of an oddball, as I remember. Is he still like that?' Kuratu asked.

"Uh huh... He kept asking me for the... What was it... Tablecloth or something... Then he asked me for the paper towels for the table... It took me a while to understand what he meant even when he kept repeating himself, getting angrier each time... After a while I finally figured out that he wanted a new sheet and a new roll of paper for the examining table... Not sure why he called them what he did... And that accent... Yikes... Quite heavy."

'It might just be his English,' Kuratu said. 'I didn't have much of a problem with his accent, but he had a strange way of doing things. When I was there, he liked having steak and potatoes for breakfast.'

"Eh... That's odd... Weird breakfast... I was there during his lunchtime and he was eating a sauerkraut and pickle sandwich with peanut butter... Made me gag actually... Whereas at the same time I was also eating a sandwich with peanut butter. Except mine had honey and a sliced banana." She also noticed his awkward ways of doing things and always found things he'd misplaced in all sorts of places.

"Uh huh. Same here. At times he was even amusing with all his mishaps. He'd lose things frequently and they'd always end up in odd places..." Janesa had to laugh at that one as she remembered the stethoscope ending up around the neck of the demonstration skeleton.

"He was always joking around with his mistakes that's true, but he always did a good job as well. I injured myself on the job one day and he took care of me. I'd tripped over a rug in the hallway and fell on my knee. It didn't really hurt, but it was all bruised. He just instructed me to take it easy which is actually hard for me since I'm so stubborn. Always want to get things done, injured or not."
