Name: Jing
Age: 16
Race: Cat-Hybrid
Bio: Was found by Rhianna a few years earlier and taken in secret as her pet. Never, ever goes outside without a hat and jacket to cover his tail and ears. Sometimes doubles his tail as a scarf if using a shorter jacket. Rarely goes outside when its hot, since covering up would be too miserable. Has gotten quite used to the snow because of that, and Winter is now his favorite season.

Appearance:

Jing stretched and yawned on his soft nest of blankets beside Rhianna's bed. He flexed his claws over the well worn material, one of the reasons why she had made up the bed for him in the first place. He didn't mind at all though. He liked bundling himself up in the ball of blankets until nothing at all of him could be seen.

He quietly crawled out of his bed and went to peek over the edge of Rhianna's, his long tail waving to-and-fro. She looked so cute while she slept. He very slowly raised his front end over the edge of the bed, placing his paws gently on the blankets, and softly touched his nose to hers with a smile. "Master...." he whispered, the tip of his tail flicking eagerly.

Rhianna felt a tickling on her nose. She blinked a few times and then realized who it was. She smiled immediately. "Jing." She giggled as she noticed his flickering tail and scooted over in her bed to make room for him. As he climbed into bed with her, she threw the covers over them both and hugged him. He was always so warm and soft. She liked having his bed next to hers so that she could call for him when she wanted. It was still too early to get ready for school, so she stayed hugging Jing for a few moments with closed eyes, waiting for a small nap. When no sleep came to her, she rubbed the sleep from her eyes and looked at him. "How did you sleep? No nightmares?" She asked.

Jing smiled and shook his head. "Nope, not one. I dreamed I was a turtle, and so were you. We had a turtle race," he added brightly. Then he nuzzled into the front of her soft pajama shirt, purring softly. His hands kneaded her shoulders softly, claws kept tucked away as he did so. His favorite parts of the day were when he got to snuggle with her before school and late in the evenings after homework. It always made up for all the hours he had to spend home alone. He would go to school too, if he could, but he was afraid of someone getting a peek at his ears or tail. He could maybe get by with showing his hands, but that was risky too. His lack of normal fingernails might freak people out.

Soon Jing wiggled out from under the blankets to crawl out of her bed. He had an idea for this morning, since Rhianna was up so early. He headed to her desk and opened one drawer to rummage around in it, bringing out a pack of cards. He brought the pack back over to her with hopeful eyes. "Play a game with me...?" he asked.

Rhianna slightly felt bad when Jing left her. So she instead snuggled with her pillow. Even though it wasn't as good as snuggling with Jing, it was better than nothing. She smiled when he came back with a pack of cards. She sat up and grinned at him. "Of course." She nodded, pushing the covers off of her and putting on her glasses. She yawned lazily, then got out of bed. "What kind of game?" She asked innocently, knowing already what he would say but wanting him to say it.

Jing grinned. "Uno," he answered as he slid the multi-colored cards out of their package. He stepped back to the middle of the room and knelt down, placing the box aside. He quickly dealt out the cards and picked up his share. He grinned at his selection, then looked up at Rhianna. "Loser cooks breakfast," he added with an eager flick of his tail.

Several minutes later, Jing threw up his hands in victory. "Uno!" he shouted, then laughed. "Now you have to cook," he taunted her, sticking his tongue out playfully. Then he leaned forward to sweep up the cards, gathering them together to shuffle them into a neat deck before sliding them back into the package. "And I want pancakes," he added with a smug smirk as he got to his feet.

She laughed when he called out "Uno", and set her cards down with the others, ready for him when he picked them up. "Okay, okay." She smiled. She was about to offer a 'double or nothing' chance when she caught glance at the clock and frowned. She's barely have time to make breakfast. "Pancakes it is, than." She said after awhile, standing up and moving to her closet. "Let me get ready for school first, though." She sighed.

When she was in her school uniform, she brushed her teeth and pulled her hair into its normal pony tail. When she put her glasses on again, she scrambled into her kitchen, finding Jing waiting patiently for her. "I'm sorry... You know how it is with school." She sighed, pulling together all of the ingredients necessary. She had the pan on the stove, and was mixing when she continued with her talk. "Erm... Maybe you don't know about how it is with school, but you would if you just enrolled with me, like I suggested." She grinned, knowing he dreaded the idea of the disguise she made him wear when he went out.

Jing shook his head quickly from the side of the table he sat at. "Uh-uh," he answered. "Kid's there are mean anyway," he added, looking away and swinging his legs back and forth underneath the table. He made it sound like an excuse, but it was true that he feared the mean kids. He knew schools like Rhianna went to must be crawling with guys that liked to do nothing better than tease and taunt everyone else. All the movies and books based on school life said so.

Rhianna sighed, flipping the pancakes as they finished. "You'd never know until you try." She smiled, but knew the cause was hopeless. When she laid the now-done food on two plates, she handed one to Jing and poured two glasses of milk to go with it. Before she could say another word, she stuffed her face with her pancake and gulped down her milk, giving a nice "Ahhh" When she was done. "Well than. I'm off to school, Jing." She smiled, giving him a long hug, and scratching behind his ear, before slipping on her shoes and heading out the door.

Jing sighed and slumped down dejectedly in his seat as soon as the front door closed. He poked a bit at his pancake, then took a bite and chewed slowly. So begins another long day at home. He had long ago tired of working with puzzles, and playing cards by oneself was just sad. His only real enjoyment was wearing Rhianna's clothes from time to time, or doing her chores for her. To this day he had never told her about his going around wearing her clothes. She might think it was cute, but she might not. And she had never noticed, so why worry about telling anyway?

He soon finished his breakfast and went to clean the kitchen before starting on Rhianna's room. He always knew where to put everything, and it never took him as long as Rhianna would complain that it took her. Sometimes she would tell him that he was being too clean, but he was a cat after all. Being clean was in his nature.

Rhianna sighed when she made it to school, she almost felt bad for leaving Jing all the time, but knew that it was ony a few hours, and she would be home soon.
~~~
When the last bell rang for school to be let out, she smiled broadly, gathering her things and nearly running out of the door. She hopped back onto her bike, paddling on her way home when she was stopped by a boy standing in front of her.
"Ria?" He asked. Rhianna frowned. Do I know him? He didn't look familiar to her at all, but he apparently knew her well. "Rhianna! It is you!" He smiled, pushing past a few girls and hugging her. "I can't believe this, do you remember me at all?" He asked, hope obvious in his large jade colored eyes. His hair was moving slightly with the wind that passed, making Rhianna slightly blush since it was sort of cute.
"Uhm... No, H-How do you know me, again?" She asked, very confused.
"Its me, Joe-Joe." He smiled. "We took English class together in middle school." He perkily added. Rhianna still didn't remember him, so she just nodded.
"Well... okay... uhm, it was nice to see you... again." She said awkwardly, tucking the hair behind her ear and starting to pedal again.
"Wait! Don't you want to hang out and catch up?" He asked, slightly disappointed when she began to move.
Rhianna frowned. But Jing is waiting for me...
"I... Uhm, sorry, but no. I have some chores that are a bit overdue, so I must leave." She said eventually.
"Oh... Well, how about tomorrow?" He asked, perking up again. Rhinna bit her lower lip, unable to come up with any excuses.
"Uhm... Sure." She murmured, regretting it immediately.
"Great!" He laughed, hugging her again. "I'll catch you afer school tomorrow, Ria." And like that, he was off.
~~~
When Rhianna entered her home, she threw her bag into the corner of the entry hall and looked around for Jing. "I'm hooome!" She called. "Jing?" She called again, entering her room.

Jing was curled up in his ball of blankets fast asleep, having finished all the chores early today. He had tried to work extra fast, thinking that there was more to do than there really was. He had folded up the last load of the laundry an hour ago, and having nothing else to do but circle about the house, went straight to his bed to take a nap. He barely even moved when Rhianna came up to her room to call out for him. The only sign that he was there was a slight shift in the ball of blankets and a soft mewing hum.

Rhinna looked to the big pile of blankets and caught the slight shift from his breathing. She smiled, tiredly, and threw off her shoes. She then took off her glasses and pulled her pony tail out. It seemed that every time she saw someone else sleeping, she, too, wanted to curl up and take a nice nap. She yawned, stretching, and walked quietly to her bed, trying her best not to wake up Jing. She pulled herself under her covers, and hugged a pillow close to her chest, liking the softness of it. Before long, she was slumbering quietly, just as Jing was.

Half an hour later after Rhianna had fallen asleep, Jing eventually woke up again and poked his head out from under the blankets. He blinked and rubbed his eyes, then looked around at the room. He could just see the lump under the blankets of the bed which was Rhianna. He heard her softly snoring and smiled as he crawled out of his blankets. He stretched and took a bit of time to groom his ears and tail. Later when Rhianna woke again to do her homework, he would have time to talk with her about her day.

Pock.

Jing froze and looked sharply toward the window. The low light of evening was streaming through the blinds, but otherwise everything seemed normal....

Pock.

There it was again, and this time Jing's sharp eyes caught the tiny rock that hit the window. His ears flattened back and his tail stood ramrod straight. His first thought was of intruders. But this was the second story, and no intruder would be stupid enough to use tiny rocks, even as a distraction. But what, or who else, could it be? He glanced over to Rhianna's bed. She was still deep asleep. So he stalked slowly to the window, raising himself up to grab hold of the sill and peer through a slit in the blinds.

There was a boy standing out there who looked to be Rhianna's age. The boy already had another rock in hand ready to throw. Jing stood up straighter and reached for the cord to the blinds, pulling up the bottom a bit. He stuck his head out to the glass, flattening his ears back into his hair. He reached up to shake a finger at the boy, silently tellling him no.

Rhianna clenched her eyes shut, rubbing them to wake herself up. She yawned a little, stretching and looking at the clock. It was about 6. She sighed, sitting up and looked to the pile of blankets, not finding Jing there. She looked confused, raising up the first layer of them, and still seeing he wasn't there. She heard a bit of rukuss to her left and found Jing waving a finger to the window. She stood up.
"Jing?" She asked, not even attempting to hide the smile on her face. "What are you doing?" She giggled at him.

Jing turned to give her a wide eyed look, then nodded to the window. "You have a friend. A 'he' friend," Jing added, pointing out to the street below.

Rhianna looked confused. "What?" She asked, walking over to the window. "No I -" She stopped, then groaned. "Its that Joe kid, who I can't remember." She said. She backed up from the window, scared that he saw her or something and patted Jing's head. "I'll be right back. Don't go anywhere." She smirked, knoing already that he wouldn't.
She quickly skipped down the steps and ran outside the house, finding him and pulling him to her door. "What are you doing here?" She asked him, surprise clearly obvious in her hushed voice.

Jing nodded and watched her walk out of the room, then turned back to peer out the window. His eyes narrowed a bit as he watched the boy. The boy had a smile on his face that clearly said that he had seen Rhianna. And he looked a little to pleased for Jing's taste that she was here and coming down to meet him. She'd turn the boy away, that's what she would do. There wasn't anything special about him....

Jing's eyes went wide again as he saw Rhianna appear and grab onto the boy's arm, pulling him out of sight under the overhang of the front door. He pressed his face desperately to the glass, but he couldn't see either of them at all. He didn't like that he couldn't see her. He didn't trust that boy at all. So he waited, face pressed to the glass and eyes narrowed, for them to come out.

"I couldn't wait until tomorrow." Joe said with a hint of a blush on his face that sort of made Rhianna want to blush, but she stopped herself from thinking anything too childish.
"It'll have to wait until then. I'm still very very busy with my... er... chores." She said, shooing him out of her doorway.
"Your parents wouldn't mind just this once, right? C'mon, it'll be fun. I have tickets to go see a movie downtown if you want." He smiled. Rhianna bit her bottom lip, pulling him back under the doorway once more.
"I-I absolutely can't go with you toni-"
"And dinner." He added. "I'll take you to get something to eat."
"I really can not leave my house without-"
"I'll talk to your parents. Are they home?" He asked.
"That's enough." Rhianna groaned in frustration, pushing him out to the gate of the house. "I'll see you tomorrow." She said, then stormed back into the house, slamming the door after her.

Jing saw her push the boy out the front gate, and his tail flicked eagerly. That would show him. Rhianna didn't need a 'he' friend with Jing around. He pushed himself off from the window sill and did a little victory dance before going to slide the blinds shut. But yet again he paused at the window as something else caught his eye. A girl was walking alone on the other side of the street, her long blonde hair spread around the shoulders of her white coat. Her wide, pretty amber eyes looked lost, but that wasn't what had caught his attention on her. From her poked a pair of fluffy ears almost the same shade of her hair. He placed his hands on the window and pressed his nose to the glass as he watched her, his tail sweeping slowly from side to side.

Could it be that that girl was just like him? He had seen plenty of girls that wore fake ears attaced to headbands, but he could see no sign that this girl's ears were fake. He moved his hands to fumble with the lock of the window, trying to get it open quickly and having little luck. Finally he gave up with a sigh and stuck out his claws, tapping as loudly as he could to try and get the girl's attention. She did pause, but looked around in front and behind her before looking up at the window. Jing smiled and waved, and the girls eyes went wide. She immediately turned and ran, causing his smile to disappear instantly.
