(Oh right!)
Luke shook his head. This he couldn't get over. He shook his head again. |
Jessica had a feeling Luke was upset and so decided to go hide under her covers like a little girl. She walked slowly almost mournfully down the hall and curled up in her blankets. She didn't mean to make him upset, but she did want him to know everything.
(Sorry it took me so long to reply. I'm finishing up summer homework. T-T) |
Luke decided to stuff his face. It was better than smoking... But then he didn't want to clean out her food. So he went to the balcony and got a ciggie out.
Jessica walked out to the balcony still wrapped in a blanket. "Luke...can you just say something? Anything?" She pleaded quietly not wanting him to hear the hurt in her voice.
Luke looked at her. "You lied."
Jessica raised her eyebrows, a slight anger brewing under her surface. "I lied? How so?" She said evenly and then thought about it. "Are you talking about earlier? The phone call?" She demanded.
Luke looked at her. "Yes Jessica! I am. So you better wipe that anger off your face, because you have no right to be angry at me! You said there was nothing between you two! Apparently, that was a lie."
Jessica's eyes flashed and she headed inside. From the balcony you could probably hear her cursing as she rummaged through stuff. "There is nothing between Derek and me. I never let there be and because of that my parent's disowned me." She said holding out a group of papers. "They're emancipation paperwork from my freshman year in high school. I lived with Eric until graduation and Roger helped me get this apartment. Derek found me here at school and will not leave me alone."
Luke was shocked. He looked at the papers shocked, his ciggarrette not even lit yet. He looked at them. Her parents had seemed so nice...
Jessica's hands shook slightly. "I guess we both have dark secrets." She said before heading inside.
Luke followed her. "Jessica..."
Jessica turned to face him."I love you, Luke, but you have to trust me. Not every guy I deal with wants to take me away and I've never had the inclination to leave." She told him calming down a little bit.
Luke sighed and nodded softly. He put his cig away. "Okay."
Jessica looked at him with a confused look on her face. "Okay?" She asked in a soft tone. "You'll trust me?"
Luke nodded. "I'll trust you."
Jessica smiled softly and went to give him a big hug. "Thank you." She said quietly and kissed his cheek.
Luke held her close and nodded. "You're welcome."
Jessica smiled. "And in return I'll trust you." She told him. "Nobody should get nothing for something."
Luke smiled and pecked her lips. That was all he could say.
Jessica pulled away a little bit, but still remained in his arms, and looked at him. "Hmm...maybe instead of kissing you, I'll cook for you." She teased. "I know I'll go make cookies." She said with a smile and tried to break his grasp. "I know you'll like the cookies more than kissing silly ole me."
Luke just rolled his eyes. He picked her up, holding her around her waist, and carried her to the kitchen, kissing her neck and cheek the whole way. He liked his cookies...
Jessica laughed a little as he picked her up and sighed softly at his kisses. "Alright...alright. I guess you can both kiss me and have your cookies." She said quietly, but in a joking tone.
Luke grinned. "Good!"
Jessica smiled. "Unfortunately, you have to let me go so I can make cookies. Unless you intend to keep your arms wrapped around my waist and follow me around the kitchen while I cook?" She told him in a very regretful tone. She really didn't want him to let her go.
Luke sighed and pulled away. "I don't want my cookies to come out bad."
