Mesa calmed down and yawned as she seemed to have worn herself out as most children do when they cry. She curled to Tomoya sleepily not seeming to be anywhere near the rather good mood she had been earlier. "I want momma and daddy..." she whimpered softly her eyes seeming heavy and tired.

Tomoya just nodded and stroked her hair. He refused to say anthing now, because he didn't know what to say. He just stroked her hair and walked. That was all that mattered right now. Weeks later was the funeral. Already ready, Tomoya helped Mesa get readu.

Mesa was sluggish and somewhat stubborn to get ready... she didn't want to go... she didn't want to see her mother and father lifeless in a box... that's not what she wanted to remember. Mesa sighed as she held up her dress in the front waiting for Tomoya to say he had it tied in the back. It was a white dress that had straps though it needed to be tied in the back so it wouldn't fall... it was her mothers favorite dress for her to wear... it made her look like her mother a little when she had her hair down... just when her mother was a kid.

Though the dress wasn't black, Tomoya agreed that she should wear it. It hurt to see the similarity, but he could deal. Soon they were at the church and Tomoya had to give a small speach about his parents. It hurt.

Mesa barely looked up when they got to the church... Her heart was throbbing too much and she knew it would only get worse when she saw her parents dead in their shared casket... It's what they wanted and it was what could be afforded. The rest of the funeral passed slungishly it seemed though when they were lowering the casket into the ground that's when Mesa cried the hardest.

Tomoya had refused to cry the whole entire time. He had just stood there and held Mesa so closely he felt like he'd kill her. He watched emotionless while they put the coffin in the ground.

A few days later, Tomoya kept receiving things from people. Condolences. He tried not to bother Mesa with it. Would just let her eat the food.

The days passed... oddly for Mesa. After the funeral it seemed she wasn't that happy hyper little girl anymore... not so much at least. She didn't watch TV so much now... she said she didn't have anything to watch even when her favorite shows were on... truthfully it just reminded her of her parents. Instead she would go outside and sit on her swing set in the back yard and stare at the sky... though sometimes she would swing. She would often stay outside until it started to get dark or rain then she would come inside and stay in her room or hide somewhere around the house curled into a ball in her fox form.

Tomoya had a rough time too. He always left the sweets out on the counters. But Mesa never ate them. If anyone wanted to see him, he was on the roof. No matter the time or weather. That was, until he got sick and had to stay in bed. He hated being sick. Especially when Mesa was having such a hard time already. Mostly, he just hoped that she didn't notice that he was sick. He doubted it. She was in really bad shape.

Mesa sighed heavily as she walked into the house sopping wet from where she had tried to get to the house before it started raining... and failed. She went and took a quick shower getting into a rather large t and sweat pants. She walked around looking for Tomoya and found him in his room... in bed? "Toma? What's wrong?" she asked softly as she looked at her brother worriedly though didn't have the same look their mother had... she hid it well.

Tomoya grimaced when Mesa came in. He shook his head. "Just tired." He lied. He would have gotten away with it, if he hadn't sneezed and then coughed. He hoped she wasn't that worried. It was just a little cold.

"Toma!" Mesa groaned when she heard him sneeze and cough. "Do you need anything? I know how to make soap... Have you taken medicine? I could bring you some... just tell me... I don't like you feeling bad at all..." she murmured softly as she looked at him still worried and wanted to do whatever she could to help her big brother feel better.

This was exactly what he hadn't wanted. He didn't want her feeling bad and worrying and rambling and all that. He was fine. He'd be fine after awhile. Sighing, Tomoya shook his head. "I'm fine, Mesa. Honestly.
He held back a sneeze, his eyes watering.

Mesa sighed softly as she nodded and went off to fix her something to eat. She sat at the kitchen table for a while then Went back upstairs to her room. She shifted into her beautiful golden fox form and curled up under her bed not feeling like falling asleep in her human form or up on her bed.

Later, Tomoya stumbled downstairs to make himself some soup. Except, then he began to feel dizzy. His eyes felt heavy, and he felt even worse. And then he fell back, passed out. He'd let his cold get worse without taking any medicine. He had never liked medicine and always "forgot" to take it.

Mesa sat straight up hitting her head as she heard a pound 'thud' sound. She quickly go out from under her bed and shifted running down the stairs. "TOMA!" she said worriedly and sat next to him feeling his head then got up and looked around. She felt tears come to her eyes when she didn't know what to do and knelt beside Tomoya again "Toma?! Toma wake up! Wake up please I I don't know what to do..." she whimpered tearfully.

It took an hour or two before Tomoya finally came back into the world. First he could hear, and then he could move a little. And then his eyes opened slowly, his vision blurry and them becoming clear. He saw Mesa, and coughed. "Mesa?" He was pale, and hot, and sick.

Mesa was still sniffling and hiccuping some from crying and her face was still slightly destoreted with pain at the thought of loosing her brother. She had, at some point, moved so she could put Tomoya's head in her lap. She wanted to feel him breathing, she wanted to feel fhis warm face on her sweat pants covered legs, she wanted to know he was still there and not gone. She felt a wave of... At least semi relief rush over her as she saw Tomoya's eyes open and even more so when he spoke. "Toma! Ow please don't leave, please don't close your eyes now... I I was scared I wouldn't see them open again..." she hiccuped crying some again as she looked down at her big brother who's head she still let rest in her lap.

Tomoya felt horrible, seeing her cry. This was all his fault. If he'd just taken medicine then Mesa wouldn't be crying and worrying that he was going to die. He reached up weakly and wiped at her tears. "I will never leave you Mesa." He told her, reassuring her.

Mesa hiccuped again and sniffled a few more times before nodding and looking around for a moment. She leaned over and grabbed a cup that she had filled with water and a small medicine bottle. "I found the cold medicine but I couldn't get you to wake up and take it... Please take it..." she said softly as she moved so she could help Tomoya sit up.

Tomoya groaned. He slowly sat up with Mesa's help. He hated medicine. He was lucky he knew how to take it at all. Slowly he took the medicine from Mesa, and took it. There was no one else in the world he would take medicine for. Only Mesa.

Mesa smiled slightly glad that Tomoya would listen to her and took the medicine like she had asked him to. She was worried about her brother now she didn't want to take any risks on loosing him or even loosing time with him. "Do you want something to eat? I want to help you while you're sick and you know I can cook." she smiled at Tomoya and it was true their mother would spend all the time she could helping Mesa... Mesa didn't even go to school their parents home schooled her.

(Ow and jtlyk Mesa's hair was still rather wet and looked it since it was like poring outside and he hadn't noticed it before from what I can see... wait... she took a shower didn't she?... idk though her hair would still be wet either way XD )

Tomoya finally finished taking the medicine and was glad. It tasted horrible. He sighed and looked over at her, and then frowned. "Did you take a shower?" He asked. The last thing he wanted was for her to be sick too. He could hear the rain. He thought it was sweet that she wanted to do all that for him. Though he didn't really want her to....

"Yeah... after I got all wet... it wasn't supposed to start raining until later... well about now so I didn't think it would and... I couldn't get to the house before it started raining so when I came in I went and took a shower..." Mesa said softly and yawned though tried to muffle it. She was tired after running around all day though she wanted to help her brother and she couldn't help him if she was asleep.
