Aqua leaned back on the soft grass at the sky. Dark gray clouds were rolling in. Great. So much had happened, so many bad things today. And now-- a storm. It looked pretty bad, worse than any on the Island. Numerous black thunderheads were coming in from all directions. It seemed like the meeting point would be right about Aqua. Strange. It seemed like too much of a coincidence that the clouds would come right where they were camping.

Suddenly Aqua had an idea. She remembered Jac mentioning the gods. Maybe it had to do with them. She ran over to Jac, skidding to a stop and clutching his arm to keep his balance.
He laughed, a soft, deep laugh that sounded like bells. "What is it that makes you run at me so?" He asked, his eyes twinking. Apparently he did not know about the storm.

"The clouds," Aqua said, pointing. He looked at them and his dark eyebrows creased in concern

Alice looked at the sky, she heard some thunder from a distance. There were black clouds coming from different directions. Alice turned around and ran to Aqua. "Aqua I think we need to get somewhere safe and will keep us dry theres a big storm coming are way." Alice said as she pointed to the sky. Shadow came running towards Alice and said "Theres a log cabin not to far from hear. Fallow me.". Shadow shifted to his human form and he grabbed Alice's hand and he started to run towards the cabin. "Come on!" Shadow yelled.

Alice tugged on Aqua's arm, saying something, but Aqua didn't hear. She stumbled along with Alice, and grabbed Jac's arm too. He seemed to be feeling just like her. This was not right. It was not just a thunderstorm. Someone, somewhere, was out there to make their lives miserable. Or even... or even to kill them.
A small log cabin was ahead. Aqua ran blindly towards it, tripping and falling a few times. But Jac's firm hand was always there to pull her up again. A deafening crack resounded from above. Rain started to fall, just a few drops, but the drops were as big as large grapes. Shadow motioned everyone inside. The log cabin was dirty and stank of rotten flesh, but it was all they had. Suddenly Aqua cried out.
"ALICE!" She screamed, running back out the door. How could she have forgotten her? Jac yelled a warning and trid to keep her back, but there was no way Aqua was leaving her friend out here. The drops were now raining down like bullets, each one hitting hard on Aqua's back. Her hair was soaked and trailed down her back, the ends becoming muddy.
Water... So much water, she thought, scanning the desolate meadow for a glint of red (Blaze).
She stopped short. 'Water!" She cried out, putting out both palms in front of her, face up. Her brows creased in concentration as she murmered a difficult spell-- one that she had never dared use before. The world spun. It was using too much energy. Some drops evaporated. Most did not. The spell had failed.

Aqua collapsed on the ground, water still pouring over her. Here she was-- defeated by her own power.
Then, she head a scream and saw a flash of red. "Bliss!" She croaked with what remaining energy she had.

Alice was about to run after Aqua but her brother held her down and said "You are not going out there! I forbid you!". Alice tried to wiggle her way from Shadow's arms but he was to strong. Alice bit her brothers arm and she hit his face. She ran out side in a flash. "ALICE! GET YOU'RE ASS BACK HEAR THIS INSTANT!" Shadow yelled with rage. Alice continued to run after Aqua. Alice saw a black figure standing in the rain, but Alice couldn't see it very well. Alice smiled and ran towards the figure and said "Aqua!". When Alice saw the figure up close she stopped running. Her mouth dropped open and her eyes were big and full of fear. "E-Edaniel..." Alice whispered. Edaniel smiled and said "Hello Alice long time no see.". Edaniel walked towards Alice and then he punched her in the gut. She blacked out instantly...

Aqua heard a commotion behind her, but she couldn't turn and see. She just heard a voice, a male voice. And... Was that ALICE? Aqua's pulse quickened. She performed a simple spell with her remaining energy. Some drops around her vanished and transformed into pure energy. She breathed in this energy and soon her blood was pumping furiously. Adrenaline coursed through her veins. She ran back to where she had heard the voices. There was a man... A man who didn't look at all human. His eyes were blood red and his spiky hair gave off an eerie glow. Maybe... a demon? And a limp figure was in his stocky arms. Alice!
Aqua ran straight for him, her bare feet bleeding on the rocks littered on the floor. He looked up and a smile slowly spread across his face. Aqua kept running. His smile turned into shock. Aqua barreled straight into him, knocking him over. He obviously hadn't been expecting that, else he could easily have overpowered her. Deciding not to take any more chances, Aqua grabbed Alice, slung her over her shoulder, and sprinted to the cabin. Alice hung limp behind her.
While running, Aqua was overcome with a breif emotional moment. Alice had gone out there for Aqua... even though it was very dangerous. Aqua didn't expect Alice to risk her own life....

Aqua pounded up the cabin steps, careful not to look behind. She slammed the door closed after her and deposited Alice on the small bunk in the corner.
"Secure the defenses!" Aqua yelled, positioning herself next to a window. "We need a strong shield around the cabin, NOW!"
No one questioned her orders. Aqua saw them concentrating, trying to make an invisible wall around the cabin.

Shadow was shocked when Aqua ordered them to make strong shield around the house but he snapped out of it and he started to chant a spell. The spell would make the ground rise up and form a barricade around the cabin. When he was done making the barricade around the house he ran over to Alice. Shadow sat next to Alice and he picked her up and hugged her. "If you ever do something stupid like that again I'll kick you're ass...." Shadow whispered to Alice. Alice woke up and she looked at her brother. "If you kick my ass I'll kick your's too." Alice whispered with a smile on her face.

Aqua saw a huge earthen wall rising up around the cabin. Good. That would slow Edaniel down, if not stop him completely. Suddenly the world outside went black, except for a small ball of light flickering in Jac's hands. He smiled at Aqua's inquiring look.
"If he can't see, he can't come," Jac said simply.

Aqua thought about what she could do. A wall of water? No. It would not hold up. A ditch of water? Yes! She could make a moat!
"Alice," She said, urgently. "If you have any energy left could you use it to dig a small moat in behind Shadow's wall?"

Alice pushed her brother away and got up. "Psh~ That would be easy!" lice said as she put her hands together and started chanting. The ground started to rumble and then the ground around the wall formed a ditch. Alice smiled and said "It's ready! I barely even used a drop of my power!" Alice said.

Aqua gaped at Alice while she worked. It was amazing the way Alice could easily shape the earth without using much power. Aqua found it a lot harder, even with water.
"Tha-Thanks," Aqua said, and began chanting. The water drops began to fall only in the ditch and in a minute a thrashing river was occupying the ditch.
"That should stop Edaniel," Aqua said, reclining on the top bunk. Suddenly she sat up. A small light was flickering outside the door. Aqua peered at it. Fire.
She cautiously opened the door and watched the little flame. A whispering sound said, "I am well. I will join you when he is gone, do not worry about me for now." Blaze's voice.

"She's safe!" Aqua yelled, punching the air in triumph. Now everyone she cared about was safe.

"Now that that's settled, we should get some sleep." This posed another problem. There was only one bunk bed. Two beds.

"I call the top bunk! And Aqua calls the bottom!" Alice said as she grabbed Aqua and put her on the bottom bunk. Alice climbed to the top of the bunk bed and said "Lady's first!". Shadow smiled and said "The only problem is that you're not a lady sis.". Alice glared at shadow and said "You can sleep on the floor bro!".

Aqua giggled as she climbed into bed.
"Come on, boys, be the gentlemen!"
She changed under the sheets into her second outfit. It was warm and more or less clean.

Alice went out like a light, she was very tired. Shadow morphed into his fox form and he jumped up on the top bunk and he laid down and went to sleep next to Alice.

Aqua snuggled under the blankets. The others were asleep. They had been sleeping for a while, their chests rising and falling peacefully. Jac's breath made a cloud of mist in the crisp morning air. He was sleeping on the hard wooden floor of the cabin. Aqua had proposed to take his place, but he had refused. Such a gentleman...

Above her Aqua heard the steady rhythm of Alice and Shadow sleeping side by side. They had gone to sleep really fast too, with no worries on their minds. Why should they worry? Blaze was safe for the moment, and they were protected by countless impenetrable barriers.

But Aqua had other thoughts on her mind.Though she hadn't thought about it for a while, the prophecy now nagged her. Who would it be? And why?
Aqua noticed Jac watching her. He must have awoken while she was pondering the whole thing.
"We could do it, you know," He said quietly. "Run away from all this madness. Me and you. We could go and live in better places. Have a better life." He didn't take his eyes off her.

Aqua struggled to find words. What was she supposed to say to this? She couldnt leave her friends... But life with Jac in a safe place seemed so much better....
"I don't know..." She mumbled, staring at the floor. "It might be possible if it werent for Blaze and Alice." That came out wrong. "I mean, i can't leave them," Aqua stuttered.

"Alice has Shadow to look after her. And Blaze is safe, you heard her message. She will probably come knocking on our door at any moment." Jac whispered softly.

Those words were so true, Aqua was convinced for the moment. It was all true. Alice was safe, and Blaze knew enough skills to get herself back to the cabin in one piece. No one needed Aqua.

"Yes..." Aqua said, smiling slightly."We should."
And together Aqua and Jac silently left the little hut.

Jac and Aqua's combined powers managed to finally crack a hole through the protective barriers. Soon they were well on their way, far away from the little cabin.

Blaze's eyes flew open. She had heard the whole thing. How could Aqua do this to her?! Blaze ran stealthily across the muddy ground, wincing whenever mud splashed on her worn shoes.

Blaze gathered her stuff and began to follow Aqua and Jac, running hard. She was hardly tired. Then, all of a sudden, she stopped. If Aqua and Jac could walk away like that, then so could she. She could go back home to her mother and Dawn... She looked back and saw Alice's graceful figure standing in the doorway of the cabin. Blaze cursed herself for looking back. As Alice approached her, she ran through her mind the things she could say. Alice started to say something, but Blaze didn't hear because she had made a run for it. She didn't know whether to follow Aqua and Jac (who could fly, by the way) or to go to the place where her whole life rested-town. To Dawn. Her sister. What was the reason they were here? To defeat the Damned. What were they doing? Making fools out of their friends by leading a wild goose chase. Blaze felt a drop of water sink into her already soaked jacket. Another one. Blaze's mouth was a contortion of rage. Another flood? She didn't remember this much rain when she lived here. When she lived here... Blaze felt her mind go dizzy. Her foot slipped on the slick mud and she fell-face first-into the creek. The last thing she remembered was a voice as sweet as honey.

Alice stood there when Blaze ran. 'Aqua and Jac are gone and so is Blaze..did I do something to hurt there feelings...' Alice stared at the ground for a while. She looked at a tree and yelled "SO THIS IS WHAT THE DAMN PROPHECY MEANT! I'D BE LEFT BEHIND! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! I WAS NICE TO THEM AND WHAT HAPPENED? THEY LEFT! I COOKED GOOD FOOD I DIDN'T YELL AT THEM I WAS NICE! THEY JUST LEFT! THEY CAN ALL GO TO HELL FOR ALL I CARE! I KNEW SOMETHING BED WAS GOING TO HAPPEN! I HOPE THEIR HAPPY!". Alice stomped off to the cabin and slammed the door shut, she was pissed. Shadow looked at her with big eyes and said "So they just left...Jack ass's..". Alice sat down on the bottom bunk and cried.

Blaze's eyes eased open. She felt the water run in and out of them and shut them quickly again. She felt her body being lifted off the stream. Good. She would've drowned otherwise. Her savior hauled her up the bank and stripped her. Blaze felt squeamish and wanted to turn away, but she forced herself to stay still. A rough cloth was run along Blaze's body. It soaked up the water and Blaze thought maybe now would be a good time to wake up.

She opened them slowly, careful about her expression. What she saw scared her. A distorted face was looked down at her. A total of seven scars lined her face; one under each eye, one on her chin, two across her left cheek, and the last a jagged red line running along her forehead-the worst.
