Alice looked at Jac and said "My family's dead well except for shadow he's the only one that lived. It's a depressing story.". Alice wasn't that hungry so she was playing with her food. Shadow looked at Alice and said "If you're not going to eat you're food then I'll eat it for you?". Alice smiled at shadow and said "No thank you, I'll eat it. I need to keep up my strength.".

Jac sighed. Family... why was it that it died so much?
He caught a whiff of the human food-- disgusting.
"I'll... I'll just. Go hunting,"
He said, turning to go. "Be right back."

'probably hunting for blood' Alice thought. After Alice was done eating her food she walked to the stream. When she got there she just sat next to it and stared at it. She looked at all the fish that swam by. Alice looked at her reflection in the water. She saw that her eyes were full of exhaustion and...sadness? Alice frowned. She stood up and searched for a rock. When she found one crunch, she crushed the rock. When she opened her hand the rock was shaped like a butterfly. Alice stared at it for a while. She closed her eyes and sighed. Alice walked to the stream and she threw the rock o=in the water and watched it sink.

Aqua stared at Jac as he turned to go.
"Jac- WAIT!" Something was stirring in her mind. "What do you mean by hunting? Animals, right?" She bit her lip, waiting Jac's answer. He was silent for a long time.

"No," He said, at last. "I hunt humans. Aqua. I know this must be a shock for you, but it's what I do. It's the only way I survive. But trust me. I'm on the right side." He flashed a symbol on the back of his hand at Aqua.

Aqua gasped. It was a circle with 4 squares inside it, and a dot in the middle. Her mother's sign. Aqua stared at blankness with wide eyes. Could this mean... He was with them? He was a rebel? Or... Did he kill Aqua's mother?

Alice herd some noises so she went back to camp. When she got there Aqua was standing up and Shadow the scuff on his neck up and he was growling. Alice looked shocked 'Wh-what happened? Whats wrong? Aqua?" Alice said with concern. Shadow calmened down and said "Nothing happened Aud.". 'Lie' Alice thought She just frowned and said "You don't have to lie.". Alice turned around and headed back to the river.

Aqua remained frozen. Tick,tock. A clock seemed to be going off in her head, impossible to stop. Tick, tock. Time was going by. Tick, tock. Should Aqua kill Jac? Tick, tock. aqua was slightly aware of Alice coming, saying something, and leaving. But her hearing was blurring now, as was her eyesight. Tick, tock. Time wa running out. Aqua neeed to make a descision before Jac got back.

When Alice got to the river she saw a koi fish. 'whats a koi fish doing hear?' Alice thought. Alice frowned and said "Aqua would know.".

A splash carried Aqua back to her senses. She had to tell Alice she had made her descision. But where was Alice?
"Alice!" Aqua cried, looking around frantically. Splash Again. Aqua sprinted to the stream, where she found Alice kneeling by the bank.
"Alice, I-" Aqua blurted, then froze. There was something shimmering in the water. A fish. But what made Aqua panic was that it was a Koi fish.

Aqua knew what it meant.
Long ago, she had been learning the was of the sea with her mother. They had studied all the fish that exsisted. Alice remembered that one day, where Aqua had been taught about sardines. Her mother had led her down the beach, and they had talked together, hand in hand.
Aqua and her mother had fished for sardines, because Aqua's mother velieved it was important for Aqua to not only kow what each fish did, but also what it looked like too. Aqua had pulled in the net, shouting out to her mother. A single, squirming fish was entangled between the wire mesh. But it was not a sardine. It was a Koi.

That was the night Aqua's mother got taken away. She was betrayed by Alena, her sister. From then on, it had been clear to Aqua that koi meant [/]betrayal.[/i]


Aqua told Alice about the Koi. She retold the whole story, not leaving out a single bit.
"So, basically," She said, slightly out of breath, "It means we are going to be betrayed by someone who is close to us."

Alice frowned and said "Aqua theres only two people hear thats close to us Shadow and Blaze. My brother wouldn't betray us! but I don't think Blaze would ether!" Alice thought for a moment. She looked at Aqua and said "Jac might betray us but hes not close to us...".

Aqua bit her lip. "I agree. But this koi sign has never been wrong before... And as far as I know, once you see a prophecy there is no way to go around it."
Aqua thought hard for a moment. "Think about it, Alice.... How well do we know Blaze? You might think you know her, but.... She just randomly came aboard our ship. We don't really know her that well. And Jac... Well, maybe the prophecy meant 'close' as in distance."

Alice looked at Aqua, Alice's eyes were full of sadness and confusion. She looked at the river and said "You're standing next to me so you're the closest. You wouldn't betray me would you Aqua?" Alice's eyes were about to explode with tears she regreted what she saud. Alice shook her head and said "No, I know you wouldn't betray me Aqua. I'm sorry I said that." Alice started to cry. She had a hard day one bad thing after another.

Aqua stared at Alice. These were dark, dark times. No one knew who they could trust anymore. Aqua carefully wiped away Alice's tears, before pulling her friend into a hug.
"Of course not, Alice. You know I wouldn't."

Alice hugged Aqua and said "I'm sorry I'm crying like a baby it's just hard not to when you frustrated and stressed out.". Alice was sad she couldn't trust anyone but Aqua and Shadow.

"Let it all out. It's what I do when I'm feeling..." Aqua struggled to find the right word. "...not myself. I-" And then she stopped, because her tears were flowing down her cheeks, forming a slowly-growing wet spot on her shirt.

Alice backed up a little and said "What do you mean 'not you're self' Aqua?". Alice was even more confused.

Aqua had to swallow a few times before she could speak. "Well.... When I'm going through a tough time in my life... I feel different. Savage. Like a monster. Almost like.. " It was hard to tell this to Alice. Aqua wondered if Alice would understand. "...Like a monster. Out of control."

Alice didn't get what Aqua meant by 'monster'. Alice looked down and said "I don't get it Aqua. When you say monster do yo mean Godzilla monster or you 'I can't believe I did that I'm a monster' monster.". "maybe Aqua is the one whose going to betray us' Alice thought. She shook her head and said "No you wouldn't." she mumbled to her self.

"I just feel.. horrible inside. Like... I don't really know how to describe it. It's as if... As if the whole world's despair and anger gets dumped into me. But ti only lasts for a few minutes. And If I'm with someone I know, or in a calm place, It's not a problem."

Alice sighed with relief "Are you feeling okay? I'm a little worried. Oh yeah is Jac back he's been gone a while?". For some reason Alice felt a little worried about Jac.

"I don't know, should we go and check?" Aqua stood up and offered a hand to Alice.
"Shadow's probably eaten all the apples that are left," Aqua joked as they walked back.

Alice looked at Aqua and smiled. "sure lets go check on everyone. If shadow did eat all the apples then lets stuff worms and dirt in his mouth while hes sleeping! And if he didn't then we'll do it any way. He deserves a good prank." Alice smiled at the thought of watching her brother eat dirt and worms.

Aqua laughed. It was true. They all needed a good laugh. As they made it to the camp, Aqua saw that Jac was back. He was joking around with Shadow. He saw her, and looked up, with warmth in his eyes.

"Aquamarine!" He said, getting up and coming over. His coal black hair shone in the sunlight, and his smile was so kind, so nice, that for a moment Aqua forgot who she was. Where she was. And who Jac was. All she saw was a dazzling boy, walkig over to her. To Aqua. Not Alice, not Blaze, he had picked her--
Aqua shook her heads and cleared her thoughts. What was wrong with her? First of all, how could she have been so selfish? And.... He was the enemy. Right?

Alice smiled when she saw her brother and Jac were getting along. 'I swear to god I will kill Shadow if he told the underpants story to Jac.' Alice thought. Alice walked over to shadow and leaned over shadow and said "did you tell Jac the underpants story? If you did I will kill you!" Alice whispered in Shadows ear. Shadow looked at Alice and said "No. I would never tell anyone the underpants story. I know you would kill me if I did tell someone.". Alice glared at Shadow and said "Okay if you say so. But remember I will kill you if you tell.".

Alice and Shadow were arguing about something, but Aqua was too far away to tell what they were saying.
Jac reached her, smiling.
"Hey." He waved.
"Hey," Aqua said, swallowing. She needed to know more about this 'vampire'. "Where do you come from?" She asked, staring into those evergreen eyes.

"I come from the RageFall mountains. You see them?" He pointed over to where Aqua could see a shadow of deep gray mountains. They looked deadly dangerous. Jac chuckled at her anxiety. "It's not that bad, once you get to somewhere you know. I used to live in a very calm spot, with a waterfall as my door. The fields are golden strings, waving back and forth in the breeze, small red flowers dotted among them..." He kept talking. Aqua's ears filled with his words, painting a magic picture in her head. She could imagine it- a beautiful clearing with a waterfall and a pond; Jac's house hidden secretly behind the waterfall. She breathed in, amazed by how Jac used his words.
"And you?" He said, seeming interested.

"I--" Aqua started, not sure how to describe her island. "I come from the Island. It's where they dump us abnormal people," She said, grimly.

Alice looked at the fire, their was one more apple left. Alice walked to Jac and Aqua and said "Hey dose any of you guys want the last apple?".
