~Through The Looking Glass~

"The souls that roam the earth have to at some point find their way to the spirit world. It is said that there is a certain place where the souls gather and even the spirits of the land, earth, air, water, and skies gather. No human has ever seen the place and none are sure where the place is where the spirits are to gather to depart from the world of the living. Only the spirits know where the door is to the spirit world and only spirits are allowed to pass into the other world. Humans have tried for years to find the place and the spirits that gather there. Some believe they can control the spirits though none have ever been able to do so.


The spirits of earth,sky,water and all the elements act as guardians of this special place to keep the spirit world safe from the living world and the living world safe from the spirit world. The spirits are known for helping humans and animals alike while among the living. It is said that the spirits must rotate and spend so much time on earth and so much time on the other side of the looking glass in the spirit world. The Spirit world is identical to the living world only the dead rule there and the spirits true forms come out. In both places the spirits have their full powers it is said. But this is just a old wise tell that I tell you. I am but the wise teller of the village child it is up to you to believe a old woman's story of see for yourself. Spirits are said to love as we living do and sometimes even break the rules to stay with the ones they love...if ye should find such a bond with a spirit remember that love can withstand a looking glass. Now be gone child I am tired anther tore some other time I am tired....."

For years a old woman has been telling such stories filling the head and hearts of the living with stories of the dead and their world. Some have fell for her stories and others have just took if for nonsense. Though to the few humans who have lessened to the woman believing or unbelieving have found that the spirits that the old woman spoke of to be true. Every body of water has it's own spirit it's own life as well as every tree plant, every drop of rain. Some spirits have fell in love over the years with their human counter parts. And watch as well as protect those they love no matter what side of the looking glass they find themselves on. The old woman has been right when she says the love can withstand a looking glass not much will but a bond as strong as love can withstand time it's self.

Spirits

Every thing on earth has a spirit. The spirits of earth, sky, water, air,and all other elements are the only spirits allowed to stay on earth and interact with humans. Though the years and times may change the spirits and their jobs do not. A spirit is allowed two years and two years only in the human world to act as protectors for the humans from the spirits that would cause harm. They must spend two years in the spirit world keeping balance there before they are allowed back on the other side of the looking glass in the world of the living. Spirits appear as children in the world of the living though they can let those they feel worthy see them in their true form.

Humans:

Humans live during the current century in Japan. Though once they enter the place where the spirits gather they will find everything turns back to a time fare beyond them. A time where they do not fit into. Nothing they have with them will work and their clothes will change to the old clothing of the time period in witch the spirit world is accustomed to. Kimonos and kabuki are common for humans to be clothed in to fit in with the dead. Humans can only exist at the gathering place they can not pass into the spirit world unless they die. Only if the Spirits find well can a human stay in their temple with them there at the gathering place.

Name:Yuki-onna In the human world she is known as Yuki.
Age: over 2,000 years old. Though she appears only to be 13 if not younger when in the living world.
Appearance:
Personalty: Yuki is very clam some times she my appear to clam and a little distant at times though she is very aware of every thing around her and others. She is a rather quite person and rather lessens and watches thinking of her actions and what they will bring before she dose anything. Some view her as cold because she only speaks when she must and her nature to keep to herself. She is always watching and making sure that no harm comes to those who wander into one of her storms or find themselves in harms way and she is near.
Element: Yuki has power over snow and can make rather deadly blizzards with a thought just as she can make the lightest and beautiful snow just the same. With a touch of her finger or toe she can freeze and body of water. Her tears are said to make the rarest crystals that are cold as snow.
Bio: Yuki has walked on both sides of the looking glass for many years. She is no stranger to both the good and evil that each side has. Being who she is she is feared and loved by both sides. She is feared by those on both sides who dare to anger her and cross her yet loved by those on both sides who find protection by her. Unlike the other spirits she will not start a fight she is the last one to appear when the spirits get into a battle though once she appears the battle will end. Due to her age she is rather wise and tends to pose as a match maker for humans when she walks the world of the living. She has had her share of loss through out her life losing those humans she held dear to many things. For once she would like to find a human that she can trust and truly be a freind too. She has only been on in the living world again for a week so maybe she will have time this time to find someone.
Other: Yuki is known for her test she plays on humans. She is rather good at readying others and uses that to help her when she plays matchmaker at a snow temple she creates once a year in the world of the living when she is there to pass some of her time. What the humans don't know is she has tested all those who came to the temple before time to see if they are worth her time and effort to find some one for them. She is also known by the spirits for her shifting into a small white fox to test humans. Though some times she uses that form to help them escape danger in one of her storms.

Element: Ventus is the Wind spirit. Her job entails traveling throughout the human world and spreading cool breezes to humans. If angered her calm breezes turn into large tornadoes although Ventus usually calms herself by created sand storms in the desserts.
Bio: Ventus has been traveling through the Spirit World and Human World for hundreds of years. Only having a few days left in the spirit world she will just began her two years visit to the human world very soon. Through her quite and cool nature most humans nor spirits take any interest in Ventus...which she really doesn't mind anyway. In the human world Ventus mostly concentrates on her job rather then scoping out humans...although there technology advancements do interest her...slightly.
Other: In her human form Ventus always carries around a strange striped orange and yellow doll. ( Shown in the picture above. )

Personalty: Kagi can be hot headed at sometimes but it really easy to calm her down. She'll do anything for the spirt world and well protect the one she loves.

Bio: Kagi has been on earth about 2 months so she has a long time lefted on earth. She's still looking for someone to have a bond with and shes tired of beening alone. She is the best warrior the spirt world has and she's the commander of the fighting force.

Personalty: Kyoku can be very outgoing, yet very shy at the same time. Like rock music, he can blast you away, but like a lullaby, he can lull you into a state of calm. He is kind-hearted being. Yet even he can have his moments. He will prefer to spend most of his time with headphones over his ears than to speak to others. But in general, he is like a muse, there to give inspiration and to keep you doing your best.
Element: Kyoku is the spirit of music. The soft lull of a lullaby. The hard beats of techno. The bounce in pop. The bang in rock. He is all of that. He can make his notes as sharp as the deadliest knife or as soft as the most harmless of feathers.
Bio: Kyoku has traveled to and from both worlds quite frequently throughout his long existence. Being one of the oldest spirits, he doesn't find much surprising him anymore. He's only been back in the human world for a couple of days so he definitely has a lot of time left. In the human world, he's a singer. Surprise surprise. And he's successful at it, as if that wasn't expected. Something about his music just attracts people to it. One thing that has been constant in his existence though is the gaping hole inside of him. The one that yearns to be filled with another's presence. His loneliness knows no bounds.
Other: kyoku can make friends easily. He loves the people that come to listen to his music and he holds as many fan sessions as he can, just to meet them all. Sometimes he finds those people, the ones with music in their souls, and they just connect. While he can still stay in the human world, he spends his time with those special individuals. Which only adds to the ever growing hole inside of him that grows everytime something tears those people away from him.

Personalty: He is seen as a peaceful male, usually sporting smile and polite words. Do to of his fine looks, Kobi is also rather vain, and will back this up should he have to -- or when he feels the time just deserves it (and yet he will not be obnoxious about it.).Passed his self-loving air, however, he is a polite young man and usually willing to delve in any type of conversation. He is very approachable and welcomes almost any company.
Spirit: Kobi has never been a religious person. As years pass he would have to agree Kobi favorites cool spirits like Snow,Wind,Air,and Mountain. Still he never has truly been able to pick one.
Bio: As a young child his Grandfather had passed on a strange story that he said he learned from on old woman in his village. Listening to the stories as a young child Kobi could say he never really believed in the story,although as he grew his mind started to wonder about this strange place that humans could actually meet spirits. As of know his main goal in the human world is to find a path to where spirits gather. During the day Kobi works at a small restaurant,although at night he mostly researches and continually changes his mind on which Spirit to give all his faith to.
Other: As a small child,around 2 or 3 Kobi split his back open. At the age of 24 all that leaves is a small scar.

Appearance:
Personalty:Ryo tends to be rather clam and like to flow with things. She has her moments when she lets her temper get the best of her but she is rather kind and helpful for the most part. She likes to be like her plants and be strong and sturdy always knowing that there is another day in witch she must face and it will be better.
Ko is more on the wild side of things compared to his twin sister. He has no problem telling people what he thinks or finding trouble for himself and others. His problem for the most part is his mouth witch leads to him finding more trouble than he would like most of the time. He may be a pain but his is one that will always be around to help you up if you fall.
Spirit: Ryo looks to Earth spirit for guidance. She wears the mark of the earth spirit on a ear ring that she wears in her left ear. Unlike his sister Ko has no real spirit he clams though if he had to chose one he would chose the dream spirit.
Bio: After one day upon hearing a strange old woman's story the twins found themselves wandering if such a place could be true. To Ko it was nothing more than a story that the woman told for the children though he knew to his sister Ryo it was something more. Since that day the pair have been looking for the place and hope to find it even though they know that no human has ever found it or so the old woman said.
Other:The twins to not like being called each others names. They tend to try and find as many ways as they can to make it ease for people to know the difference between them. Ryo is known for her plants and her small flower shop she has she is also known for her strange attractions to the spirit world and her belief in spirits. Ko on the other hand is known for being a lovable guy who has a mouth on him and finds more than he bargains for.

Kagi walks out of the gym with a towel wrapped around her neck and carrying her gym bag. The human world wasnt so bad since she was sent her. She wasnt used to driving yet but she was getting the hang of it. She walked over to her red mustang and put her bag in the passanger side. Driving out of the parking lot she drove to her small apartment.

Yuki gazed out from the edge of the doorway where she had pushed the screen back to see the outside world of the living world. She smiled feeling the warmth of the sun's rays as she took a step from the temple and slid the screen shut behind her. She giggled as she danced about in the sun loving being back in the world of the living for a while. It had been a while since she had been so happy. She loved spending her days in the sun rather it be in spring or summer. She knew though that winter was almost upon the living world and soon she would get to play and bring winter to the living world. She stopped dancing as she noticed some of the other spirits that where to be there to protect the temple and both worlds weren't present. No one had ever left the temple before like this though she herself did long to explore the new world and see what things where out now. It was always a treat to come back and see how it changed.

Kagi stopped when she was about to open her door. "Another spirit came threw" She says softly to herself as she walked into her apartment. Putting her bag on the couch she goes into her bathroom and starts the shower. Looking into the mirror she sighs softly before taking her sweaty clothes off and getting into the shower. She missed the spirit world and she was thinking about visiting there in shortly but she doesnt know when.

Luka slipped through the trees as she continued on with her daily walk through the woods.The birds chirping,the land scaping quite beautiful.Her deep blue eyes taking in her surroundings and simpley listening to nature.Why cant montis apperciate such beautiful creatures such as this?The thought occured to her as she walked down the trail.The wind blew against her pale skin with light effort.Winter would be here soon and she could sense it,but she was quite curiouse of whom the humans would be preying to as the winter would begin.Proably the snow spirits and so on..Her thoughts soon mingeled with one another,slowly geting deep into thought as she walked.Suddenly,her features sharpened when she was aware he was on his way.Sighing,she then took a side step and glanced over her shoulder.'You cant hide forever Montis.'She said in a sarcastic tone as she turned completely around,awaiting for him to appear before her.

Montis remained high up in the trees,taking in the many scents around him soon to catch Lukas.Smirking,he decied to have some fun and prowel up behind her as if she was prey but to only be caught.Apparently his skills needed better work.Leaping down from the tree branch he was on,he stared at Luka noticing she was proably deep in thought.'Thinking about winter again,huh?'He asked,slightly curiouse but he already knew of her thoughts.She was always one to wonder around in the forest,but not usually at daylight hours.Luka was one of the very few people who could scare him,but also make him laugh at all the wrong things.He then walked up beside her and awaited her anwser.

Yuki smiled as she walked to the edge of the temple's lake and peered at her reflection in it. A white aura appeared around her as it faded a small white fox stood where she had been only seconds ago. She whipped the tip of her tail to the surface of the lake freezing it as she leaped on it making her way across it as she headed for the temples where the humans where. She wanted to test them again and have some fun while she was in the living world. where she went a trail of ice and snow followed. She knew to humans this would be strange but it was rather normal for her and soon enough the world would be a blanket of white when she was done with it. The other spirits had their fun and now it was her turn. Maybe this time she would find a human worth her time and one she could befriend and trust with her secrets. A few of the other spirits had though she knew many of them didn't find her wroth their time to even speak to. Unlike most of the spirits she was more willing to interact with the humans though she never dared to show her true self to any she preferred to stay in her fox form even around most of the spirits here. The sad truth was she couldn't remember the last time she had even spoke to another guardian spirit. She had always wandered why the others had never felt the need to speak to her but she figured it was her element and how quite and clam she was.

Ventus took a long,drawn out breath. It seemed winter was fast approaching,which was quite odd since Yuki always started in a few weeks...now Ventus would only have a few days to gather her strength and help Yuki with the preparations of winter. Opening the screen door the spirit immediately transformed into her 11 year old disguise. Walking away from her temple Ventus started into the large forest that surrounded her home. Making her way quickly, Ventus long blue hair trailed along side her in a calm fashion. Her first priority as of now was to find Yuki and converse with her about the approaching cold months.

"Alright,alright boss! I'll see ya tomorrow!"Kobi basically screamed as the crowd of drunks laughed and shouted over him. The boss only had time to wave his hand,acknowledge Kobi's words. Closing the solid wooden door behind him Kobi set off down the street. Since it was just after 5 most people where at there homes,with either families or friends. Carrying his bag loosely on his shoulders Kobi made his way down the street...and then a few more. It was a bit surprising Kobi found himself at the Snow spirit Temples. It actually wasn’t that far from his work but the tress surrounded the temple made it seem like Kobi was in a whole different world. Standing before the temple doors Kobi slowly crept inside.

Sighing,her deep blue eyes turned to meet Montis as she directed them off the path.She could feel the wind spirit near by but ignored her senses for a moment.'Does it show?'Luka asked softly,chuckeling as they walked.Now she was geting abit too close for comfert near this 'precense'.She knew it had to be the wind sprit considering most dont come out in the woods.Thats when she saw a young girl walking..she looked 11 but wise beyond her years.'Hello..'Lukas soft voice was directed towards the young girl as she stoped dead in her tracks.

Montis tilted his head slightly and followed along.'Infact it is.'He said softly,then adverting his eyes he was aware of what direction she was leading them to.Why would she head towards town?Wasn't the forest Luka's favorite place to be?Sighing,Montis followed along until she stoped and he followed her eyes to see a young girl.Quite beautiful really.He remained calm as he watched the two,unknowing what to say.

Yuki's eye's glowed a soft blue as she stopped finding herself at the temple where she and Ventus where to be honored. She watched in silence as a human male walked into the temple. He looked rather interesting and it had been a while since she had been in the living world he looked like he might be one to learn from if he passed her test she would bless him and help him. She closed her eyes and transformed into her human form for earth. She smiled as she touched the fox statue that the humans had mad to represent her after her years of appearing to them as one. A slight smile appeared on her lips as the statue and the area around the temple turned to ice. She giggled as her thirteen year old self moved threw the screen door following the human. Her long white hair danced about her as she moved. She grew silent as she stopped just behind the human and gazed up on him. In a warm voice she spoke to the human hoping not to scare him away. "The winter celebrations here want start until a few weeks from now. You should give the workers here time to prepare don't you think?" She moved from behind him and appeared in front of him acting as a obstetrical from him going any further in the temple. He really should be there and the temple needed rest some of it's spirits weren't so kind to strangers. She wandered how long it would take the human to realize that the air had turned cold now since she entered the temple. She knew once he went outside he would be rather surprised to see her work. She knew some of the other spirits would have something to say about her appearing before a human like this and using her powers so openly but then again to them she was only a child here who would blame her she wandered.

As Ventus slowly traveled through the lush forest and towards the town a strong sense of another elemental spirit filled Ventus every fiber. As she heard a girls voice Ventus spun around. Seeing a pink haired girl and gray haired boy next to the girl she immediately could tell these two where not normal humans. She had only seen these two in the spirit world once or twice. She couldn't exactly recall what exactly they both where but she would soon figure it out...Ventus could guarantee that much. Keeping a strong grip on the striped doll she held in her right hand Ventus stared at the two for a brief moment before speaking. "Hello."Ventus replied in a soft tone.

Shivering slightly Kobi immediately felt the cool fall air suddenly turn a freezing cold. Jumping he slowly backed away as a small child walked up in front of him. Confusion quickly set in as he processed the young child’s words."Oh sorry......I don't work here. I just came to...look around I suppose. Sorry for intruding on a ceremony. Goodbye." He whispered quickly. Backing away from the young girl he slowly opened the door and closed it behind him. Turning around he froze as his eyes widened. "What the... Kobi whispered. Staring at the ice that covered the entrance of the temple he found himself frozen himself to the ground. What could have done this?Kobi thought as he continued to stare.

Luka stared at the young girl.Lukas emotions remained distent and emotionless.'I am Luka,may I ask what your name is?'Luka asked in a calm tone as she stood there,staring at the young girl.This had to be the wind spirit,just by the way she acted Luka could tell who she was.Although,the hood that once concealed her features soon fell and revealed her deep blue icey eyes,pink lips and ofcourse,pink hair.Staring at the young girl,she awaited to see what would become of the situation.Thats when it occured to her.'If I am introding on your journey,I am sorry.'Luka said in a soft tone.She had no idea where the girl was going but whatever she was doing,she was proably preparing for winter.

Montis did not have much to say and wanted to leave.'Excuse me.'His tone was soft and kind as he disappeared into the earth,as if turning into a leaf and being carried off.He decied to walk around town to clear his mind.He wasn't fond of humans but that might clear some questions he had.Where was that girl going and why?That was his first question.Montis sighed and once a fair distance away he begun walking on the ground,off the path that lead to the village.Hopefully,he'd find something amusing there.

Yuki watched him and followed she appeared beside him as she gazed out at her work. "The spirits of summer need rest they have done their jobs. The land it's self needs sleep and time to rest for next year. The spirits of the winds and snows are at work now it would seem. Be safe Kobi-Chan. What you seek is before you. Some times all you need to do is look from the other side of the looking glass to see the whole truth." She said in a clam voice that cut threw the cold air like a knife ringing like a small bell. She held out her hand to him reveling as small talisman that held her own mark as well as the mark of the wind spirit. She stared at him with her child like eyes as innocents reflected from them knowing he wouldn't cause any harm. At lest now he would be protected by her and the wind spirit. She knew she would have to explain to the wind spirit why she had chosen to give the human their symbols of protection. Though she had got him out of the temple so the spirits could gather with in it and she could begin her own work. A slight smile rose across her lips as she gave a playful wink turning vanishing as the ground around him heated a small path appeared as the ice melted into a path for him to follow. She giggled as she stood in the main hall of the temple loving how fun it always was in the world of the living.

Kyoku bobbed his head along with the music that was emanating from the headphones upon his head. His slender hands were rested lightly on the parts covering his ears and he was earning a bunch of stares from passer-bys because, not only was his attire a bit more 'punk'-esque for normal everday people, but because he was sitting right in front of the temples, leaning against one of the posts that held the archway over the gate.

The expression of content on Kyoku's face was enough to make certain people smile though, and that just served to lift his mood higher. He'd been sitting there when a human male had walked past him, entering the temple grounds, and obviously not noticing the child sitting pristinely in front of the temples. Kyoku got off the ground then, leaning back and rocking forward slightly before hopping up when there was a pause in the traffic of human bodies before him. The chains and other adornments on his outfit jingled out a light sound as they shifted with his movements.

He felt the energies of the snow spirit and the earth spirit acting up as he waited outside the temple quietly. Once the song he had been listening to ended, he pulled the headphones down to wrap around his neck, upping the volume slightly so the music now poured from the headphones in a way that he could still hear it, and turned to head into the temple.

Of course, he was on the human side of the land and raised an eyebrow delicately at the ice surrounding the area. So his feeling had been right. He saw the purple haired male standing right outside the temple's screen doors and smiled brightly as he slowed to a stop before him. He took a moment to observe the male before bowing politely, noting the marks of the snow and wind spirits on the talisman the human held. "Hello." he said softly, his voice a soft melody playing out into the crisp air. Kyoku straightened his posture and put a hand into his own pocket, drawing out another talisman, this one with his own mark on it, "It seems the spirits of the Snow and of the Wind have favored you." he continued, the innocent gleam in his eyes underlying the wisdom in his words. Then he shifted his weight and his entire demeanor changed, "Here you go mister~ Make sure to come back when the setup for the celebration is done, 'kay?" he placed his own talisman beside the one bearing the marks of the snow and the wind before hopping up over the steps and landing beside the male. "I hope to see you here~" he finished before laughing and disappearing inside with a smile on his face.

Once inside the smile dropped a few notches and Kyoku rolled his shoulders a bit, now turning the volume down on his music since he was within the much quieter, almost completely quiet, walls of the temple. No need to blast music here. Every once in a while, even silence can be considered music. He turned and continued deeper into the temple. Maybe there would be someone else in here to talk to today.

Yuki froze in place as her eyes widen at the since of another presence with in the temple with her. She shifted her eyes then turned her head and gazed in the direction where she felt the other presence. It wasn't a human it was another spirit of some short. It was to powerful to be just one of the lesser spirits it was one of the guardian spirits as she was. She kept motionless as she took the time to lessen and gather information before she dared to go any further with any choice she had thought of making. A slight smile appeared on her lips as she stud there. She then turned and returned to her pace as she walked to the the main room of the temple. She walked to the shrine and stared at it then laughed as she touched it turning it into a frozen statue. A warm smile spread across her face as a light snow began to fall with in the main room and just outside the temple. She stared up at the light and soft snow flakes as they fell from the opening just above her witch left the main room open to the elements witch allowed the beautiful snow to come inside the temple. This was her favorite part about this temple. She looked like a small child transfixed by the simple pleasure that each snow flake brought her as they danced about her freely at times blending in with her long white hair that framed her child like frame as she stared in wonder at the simple beauty she had found.

Ryo rolled her eyes as she heard her brother's rather loud mouth behind her not to far from where she was. Just what she had wanted another day stuck with him in one of his bad moods again this week. It was almost winter and she had more important things to worry about than him and his problems. She had to gather the last of the herbs in the woods near the strange and creepy place that always gave her a bad feeling, get her flower shop ready for the winter. Move all the plants to the green house and get her brother a job where his mouth wouldn't get him in trouble. At lest if he was following her she wouldn't be alone now in the woods. The woods real did creep her out near the area she gathered all the wild herbs for her shop. Maybe if she was lucky some spirit would punish Ko and make him it's slave and teach him some manners something she couldn't do and no one else around theses parts could. He had no respect for any of the old ways or beliefs for once she would like for him to eat his own words and have to admit that there was spirits and he was wrong for not believing.

Ko shook his head as he watched his twin sister heading off in the directions of the woods again. "What am I going to do with her." He mumbled as he got up from the set he had taken at the front of her little flower and herb shop. He slowly made his way about the busy streets and found the path that Ryo used when she went into the woods though he had asked her many times not to go in the woods. He loved her argument that the woods where fine and safe and the spirits would only hurt those who where evil and wicked. Yea but if that was the case why did so many innocent people who went into those same woods never come out. Some mark and stupid prayer to some fake being that a few elders made up some years ago isn't going to protect her or any one else from some evil person out to kill or worse. He was real sick of all the celebrations for all this crap that old people like that stupid old story teller were spreading. What was worse was his very own flesh and blood was falling for the lies happy to follow some old story that spirits where real and all gathered at one place. Yea the only thing that was real was the woods where away from people and a perfect place to kill some one like Ryo all by themselves.

Montis felt guilty for up and leaving Luka like that.Should he go back and see if she was okay?No,she would be okay.Sighing,he then trailed back onto the path.His long tinted blue hair catching the snow flakes.'Winter..'He sighed softly.Winter could be a wonderful thing if you knew how to handle the snow but it could be quite deadly.Thats when he begun to sense a human near by but didn't really bother to pay attention.Montis was to wrapped up in his thoughts to care as he walked on,but then he stoped.He never went to the celebration without Luka at his side,after all they were kind of brother and sister depending the way you looked at it.Montis then took a step to the side of the path,leaning against a tree but the snow moved away clearing a small bit of green grass where he could wait for awhile for Luka to show up.
