Kris shrugged and sighed at Aria softly. "..I don't wanna go shopping.." He muttered rather childishly, wiping his hands on his skirt for a moment. When Jessica turned on him though, Kris stepped back a few steps, his eyes narrowing a bit. "You aren't my boss, YOU can't tell me what I can and can't cook." When she stepped on his foot, Kris flinched, though it hadn't hurt badly that wasn't the point, murder flashed in those eyes of his as he watched her disappear into that ridiculous dressing room of hers. Kris had left home to get way from crap like that. Unnecessary abuse. He'd done nothing that was deserving of her to treat him that way.

He turned in a huff and stalked rather angrily into the kitchen.

"Don't worry about it much Yuri." Aria smiled, patting the girl on the head. She frowned at Jessica, both her words and her actions. The frown stayed at Kris' reaction, esecially the murderous flash. Crossing her arms under the slightly ample chest, she followed her main chef/cook into the kitchen. Floating past him to check on the pie and the damnable fruitcake, nodding her head when they came out perfect. She pulled them out to cool then stood in front of Kris. "Sorry about that." She spoke softly, then let a flicker of a smile come upon her face when she realized she had no reason to apologize, but she did anyway, and knew that Kris would probably chew her about it. "I know I have no reason to apologize, but she is my employee, that was bad behavior that does end up reflecting on me. I'll talk to her about it later." Stepping closer, she pulled him into a loose hug. "You don't have to, but I thought you'd like a break every once in a while." She raised her hand up a bit to ruffle his hair before she let go and walked out of the kitchen with a sad smile on her face.

Thank you” She’d purr to the curiously dressed man, giving him a warm smile. She study him for a moment, gathering from the smallest bit of flour that he was at least the baker here… He seemed nervous too.. Oh well such was her nature anyway and he seemed shy to begin with. Dismissing it, however, she’d say nothing more then the thank you.

She watched as the girl reacted to the jesting group, raising an eyebrow. They didn’t seem to serious.. But clearly she did. Chuckling she couldn’t help but be amused, being the relaxed person she was. Little grew reaction from her unless you tried to kill someone.. . She might have asked if he was okay but he ran off to the kitchen and she sighed. Well .. There went her idea of sneaking a cookie from the baker…

Kristoph shook his head lightly when Aria came to him and apologized for Jessica's behavior. It was true, Aria didn't need to apologize to the girl, at least not to him. He suspected Aria would also need to apologize to their new customer for how badly one of her workers had behaved. Kris sighed softly. When Aria pulled him into that hug, he leaned against her gently. "It's okay.." He laid his head on her shoulder for a moment. "I left home to get away from things like that..I won't stand for it, not anymore..You know that." Then he shrugged when she ruffled his hair and as she left the kitchen he went to check the cookies in the oven. Pulling the try out and setting it on the counter for the gingerbread cookies to cool.

Yuri as still leaning on the counter when Aria came around and patted Yuri on her head before she went back into the kitchen. Yuri started to think about how the day would go and about what she would do later. She thought about a lot of things because her mind never rest. She also started to sing a song in her head that she had heard early and it got stuck in her mind. After the tune in her head was over Yuri looked around once again and noticed that someone was here. She walked over to the girl, "Hi there, my name is Yuri. How about you?" she said as she extended her hand to the girl in front of her.

Vanya” She’d answer, playfully taking the others hand. Giving a light bow she’d kiss the back of her hand, knowing it was considered a very ‘guy’ think to do but not caring. Chuckling she’d release the hand and put her hands in her own pockets, gazing at the kitchen and sniffing the air briefly. She shifted a little, tempted to walk in. It was one of the few things that could break her calm collected act… sweets. Those cookies were smelling tooo goood.

As if reading her mind, a cool voice called out from the back of the room; "Hmn you know you could just ask the cook, when he next comes out, instead of sniffing at their smell like a dog" The speaker was a tall women with long hair, and a voluptuous figure, who remained in the shadows, a katana on her hip, and a slightly vacant feel about her, as if she wasn't looking directly at you.

"I can't speak for the cook, but he may be happy to give you a cookie, again, all you have to do is ask." Shrugging her indifference she became motionless, her body seeming to blend and disappear into the shadow, which explains why she had been missed before by the other peoples quick inspectorate look around.

The woman of mixed blood twitched her elven ears a moment and glanced over at the cool woman, not having cared to notice her before. She heard the voice of Leon stir in the back of her head, talking about how condescending the other woman sounded. Vanya couldn’t’ help but smirk a little, Leon talking about anyone being condescending was like the sky jeering at someone for wearing the color blue. She said nothing to the spirit, however, and simply focused on the woman before her.

“Perhaps I enjoy the smell … and the anticipation. Fresh baked cookies are like a kiss, they should be savored.” She said cheerfully, her heavy eyelashes as always making her appear suggestive… not that her choice of words helped her appeared otherwise. She seemed to gaze at every curve of the other woman, and while she did indeed appreciate the beautiful form sex wasn’t the only thing on her mind. Well toned muscles, blade, fighter of some kind.

Turning she’d glance towards the kitchen again, tilting her head to the side in thought. Honestly she wasn’t so sure the cook was in the mood, as upset as he’d seemed earlier. It was almost as if it brought up unpleasant memories she thought inwardly, but dismissed the musings. It was none of her concern unless she was asked directly for help…

Aria smiled warmly at the Elven woman. "Hi, I'm sorry about the tension. Jessi sometimes gets testy and Kris likes to joke around. Sadly she hasn't gotten fully used to his weird sense of humor." She said softly, her ruby eyes glancing at the tray she had brought out earlier. "At the moment though I am sad to say that the current cookies being pulled out are part of a special order, but if you have a particular dessert I'm sure Kris or I could whip it right up. When things are slow like this I kind of spend most of my time in the kitchen experimenting, much to Kris' annoyance." She laughed softly even as she placed the tray on the main counter top and motioned for the two females to sit as she moved around behind the counter.. "I'm actually half thinking of introducing ice cream down here. That and maybe some normal foods, like soups, salads, sandwiches. If things go great I might just expand it into a restuarant. But I'm not sure Kris would enjoy that since it would mean more work, and more people in his kitchen." She playfully mock grimaced even as she pulled up four glasses, each filled with a little bit of ice. "Anyone want a drink?" She offered sincerely, even to her fellow employees as she filled a separate glass with a clear fizzy liquid and then some cherry scented syrup and a cherry on top.

Kris stepped out of the kitchen just as Aria asked if anyone wanted a drink, he shook his head lightly, but snatched one of the glasses she had prepared and filled anyway. "..But, we're almost out of flour.." He said it with a slight frown, shrugging softly. "..And margarine." He ran a hand through his hair, looking everyone over for a moment before those purple eyes landed on Aria again. "The gingerbread cookies are done, I left them cooling on the counter, and..I think I'll take a break" Kris tugged his skirt down just slightly as he stepped around the counter and moved to sit on the counter. With his back to the kitchen area and the behind the counter area, so he was facing all if not most of the customers or customers that might come in. He crossed one slender smooth hairless leg over the other, he took a generous sip of the drink Aria had fixed.

"I can always use a drink" Merv spoke out before she stood, and skillfully maneuvered her way to the counter, where, after a brief pause, pick up one of the glasses and sat with her back to the entrance till she looked like a customer sitting and enjoying her drink. "Hmn," She murmured after a sip "this is a good drink"

Innovien stood at The Rabbit Hole hesitantly. Sometimes she had to make trips down it, though she preferred to stay on land. Unfortunately for her the urged to swim would overtake her and she would have to go. That was her dilemma today. After a short time her green eyes looked down at the ground and went in.

When she emerged on the other in she had her beautiful blue and gold tail back. The tattoos re-appeared on her shoulders and torso, and her clothing was gone. As she swam by she grabbed a small ocean flower and stuck it in her hair. It was a habit that she could not break.

Aria nodded as she finished preparing some drinks for everyone. "Alright. I'll get everything packed for delivery." She answered. She sighed softly, she wasn't looking forward to leaving the walls of her cafe. "I'll go shopping for it, maybe tomorrow. Do you want anything while I'm on Land?" She questioned him even as she cleaned the counter, but there was nothing to clean. Much as she made a mess on herself when she baked, she was not messy anywhere else. She took a sip of her own drink, humming at the taste. "I wonder if it would taste better with some vanilla icecream..." She thought out loud.

Vanya raised an eyebrow as the other woman, Merv, ignored her response, rolling her eyes. Had she spoken to her simply to hear herself talk? There seemed no other purpose at the moment since she had not acknowledged the mixed blood elf further… though she’d reserve judgment for now… but not to long. She didn’t take anything personally really and would simply brush off those who did the same to her…

As Aria spoke she’d chuckle and turn to her, tilting her head to the side. “all families have their tension…no need to apologize.” She’d reply smoothly, leaning on her arms over the counter as she studied the other. Pretty… didn’t feel like fighting was her main aim, not the right muscles… but if she was a shape shifter that meant little.

“So Kris is the cook? Good to know.. Ice cream is always a good seller I believe…and it depends… have any tea?” She said quietly with a smile. She chatted easily without any real concern, relaxing under the other woman’s open sincerity. It was always nice to feel welcome… and a good way to find information. She glanced over as Kris spoke, chuckling softly. “Aww too bad… guess I’ll have to wait for anything sweet other then the view…” She said amiably… whether she meant the pretty fish or the pretty people was anyone’s guess…

She was elegant, a dancer in the waters. Her green eyes seemed to glow with the minimal light that penetrated the waters. She belonged here, but not with these people. It was an odd feeling, to know where you should be, but at the same time know that you could never really be part of that world.

It did not matter though. She would swim, she would get it out of her system, and then she would return to land and continue with her life there. She was an outcast of the undersea would by her own choice and her own actions. Innovien was happy to remain that way.

Still...she would not have minded if things could have been different. If she could have felt more a part of the Merpeople civilization than she did. They say, though, that everything happens for a reason.

She giggled when Vanya called them a family. "I don't know how much 'family' we may be. Jess is her own person, but Kris and I have always lived together for a few years now." She replied easily, setting her drink down as she walked to the back to grab the ever constant pot of hot water she kept in case she had the urge for tea. Picking both the pot and beautifully crafted tea cups, she brought them out and set them one the counter top. "Any tea flavor preference?" She asked as she pulled a few jars where she kept her tea leaves, even as she grabbed a notepad and pen. She set everything up so that the other had easy access to whatever she needed as she started about making a list of things she'd need from the Human realm. "Kris is the main cook, but that's only been 2 years now in the running. Before him I cooked and baked everything. Now I find myself bored more often just running this place because he gets antsy about my being in there." She smiled warmly from the ghost of a memory. "Might have been that one incident. The kitchen had been too small and I tripped over something. We both ended up covered in cake batter, covered in flour, and the eggs had all been smashed. Bad as it was, it was funny as hell." She giggled at the memory. "I think that was the only time I had seen Kris look less than his age, so cute and lost in a weird sort of chibi-ness."

Merv wasn't ignoring the elfin woman, just had not thought that the comment needed an answering comment so hadn't said anything before walking to the counter. At the ice cream comment however Merv frowned in thought before shrugging and remarking "Couldn't tell you, but if you decide to try it, Ill be happy to taste test it with you."

“green tea’s always nice but anything works really” She replied with a shrug, watching the woman a moment. Aira really was a talker wasn’t she? But honestly she loved the fact. Sitting listening to someone speak about her surroundings, informative and often funny like now. She giggled at the idea of the pretty purplette man covered in flower.

“That does sound cute, to bad I couldn’t see that!”
she said cheerfully, tilting her head to the side. She smirked a little as she reached up to touch the other woman’s white hair, teasing “I bet you looked pretty cute yourself. I bet it matched famously with your hair.” She would then release the pale ivory strand and put her hand on the counter absently. Hearing merv she chuckled, saying quietly “I doubt there’s anyone here that wouldn’t. You have any favorite flavor? I bet Aira wouldn’t mind knowing it if you do..” She suggested it as she glanced at the list Aira was making, guessing it was probably a grocery list.

((yes I realize purplette’s not a word xD it is now, :P))

She smiled, setting her pen down to prepare the green tea. "Sugar? Milk?" She questioned, even as she brought up a small bottle of milk and a jar of sugar she kept stashed in a small fridge down under the counter, placing them within easy reach if she so wished for them. "Sorry if I'm boring you to death with the talking" She blushed softly, which only reddened further when the woman teased her. "Well...Well you'd have to ask Kris that. I skipped out on looking a mirror in favor of washing it off. Both myself and the kitchen." Nervously she pushed the strand back behind her ear. "You know Merv, you've worked here for a little bit but I've never really seen you have anything to eat in the way of our sweets. Drinks maybe, sweets not so much." She commented as she half leaned, half bent over the counter as she started to write out a few things she needed to buy at the top, and a few that she wanted to try at the bottom. Off the side, she wrote possible prices, and tried setting a budget for her list.

Yuri leaned on the counter once again. She listened in on everyone's conversation and all she could do was smile. She laughed a little when she heard some things. As she leaned on the counter and looked at everyone, her day was going quite well. So she started to start the same song in her head that she was singing early in her head. It just repeated over and over again. When Aria brought up land, Yuri started to think about her mother and wondered how she was doing being all by herself.

Vanya started to say only sugar when the other put them down, causing her to chuckle and reaching over to add her sugar with a soft "thank you". She smirked to herself in thought, watching as the other blushed. My she was easy to make blush, she could have fun with this. Taking a sip of her own tea she’d be unable to resist a little mischief, she’d lean forward. For a moment she’d look directly n the other’s eyes from under her lashes and part her lips almost impossibly small amount so she looked rather… lustful, teasing “Oh I don’t need to ask anyone, I can see for myself just how… cute, you are…”

Then however she’d laugh as if she didn’t’ mean it and lean back, sipping her tea in a nonchalant relaxed sort of way. Of course, she would be watching the other woman even though you couldn’t tell by looking at her. Seeing her reaction of her playful, teasing manner was half the fun, not that she tended to actually mean it….not that you could tell the difference between when she did or didn’t.

It took a moment for Merv to answer, though she stammered at first as she spoke,, not sure how to handle the teasing in their voices. "I-I like Neapolitan... but i like sherbert too..." she blushed before she spoke again "I-I do like sweets b-but..." her voice fades for a moment before she speaks again "I try to modulate how many i eat" she falls silent again before taking another sip of her drink.

She hummed softly when she heard the other say her thanks, the cap covered end of the tip making its way to her mouth, where she nibbled it lightly in thought. She looked up when Merv started to speak, smiling warmly. "Neopalitan is one of my favorites! But then I also like cookie dough, cookies and cream, mint chocolate...Actually I like a lot of different flavors. Some sherberts aren't that bad. I tried a raspberry sherbert once. It had a bitter sort of taste, but had a sweet after taste." She spoke as she wrote some other things down. When Vanya looked at her from under lashes, she blushed again. "You know, I'm tempted to believe you are flirting with me." She let her lips twitch into a slight smirk when the woman leaned back, but she leaned forward onto her crossed arms under the slightly ample chest, the loose shirt lingering on the polished wood. "I wonder if my fiance would mind. You look as delicious as one of my sweets. Maybe he would want to share?" She replied breathily as she partially closed her eyes, her lips molding to an alluring half open smirk. She leaned back to stand straight, a sudden giggle escaping her lips. She was a mermaid, supposedly the seductress of the sea, and she couldn't quite pull it off to strangers without giggling a little. "Hey Yuri, when I go up to the human realm you want to go with me?" She questioned the young waitress as she snagged a cookie. "Merv, dearie, you should never have to be picky over how much sweet you eat. I have a large sweet tooth and eat quite a bit and I'm still slim." She pointed out, even waving at her own thin figure. It didn't look it but she did work out and she had some soft muscles, after all in baking you had to use those muscles when mixing together some of the more difficult doughs. Or when lifting heavy boxes that had the delivered goods you needed.
She moved to the back for only five minutes to pack the fresh baked desserts before they got too dry and stuck them in a fridge to be delivered tomorrow morning, coming back out to the front with lollipop she took from Kris' collection and moving to the other side she picked a bar stool between Vanya and Kris. She smiled even as she started to turn herself on the rotating seat.

Vanya chuckled as she heard Merv, glancing at her with a little bit of mischief and a suggestive grin. And so the stoic warrior showed her heart.. She could be fun to tease to. She almost said something flirty about how she didn’t need to moderate anything… but she count herself a little distracted. As the other woman spoke she couldn’t help but laugh and say the first think that came to mind “Oh frisky aren’t you? A fighter… how amusing..” She knew it sounded slightly condescending but she blamed her age and patted Aira on the head when she returned.

Aria smiled as she let her mind wander as she spun around, twirling the stick in her mouth. She blinked when the other woman patted her head, not used to the action at the recieving end. She shrugged and continued to twirl around. She stood up quickly. "Oh! You guys simply must come swimming. It's so slow out here anyway and I managed to get a private pool set up to the back!" She spoke quickly in her excitement, disappearing upstairs to grab a top, and bringing a few selections of complete swimsuits in a bag for the other girls. She grabbed Vanya's hand first, and Merv's as well as she all but dragged them with her to the pool...That is if the two didn't let her drag them about.
