Bio: A rather poised and delicate elf she is. Lataeruil her name meaning night, love and noble. Yet, she is nothing more than a peasant locked away in her village, born too a low cast family in the royal kingdom Lataeruil is used too working and hard labour. She works for the elf queen and often fantasizes about what it may be like to be a beautiful, careful ruler of a race so magical.

Bio: Naming himself after the first thing he saw, Leaf has no memory of his past. He is an elf, but that's pretty much all he knows. He woke up in a forest near a village, and has been living in the forest for two years now. He has the strange ability to control the earth and the trees. He is very curious and doesn't know much about his own kind, so when he does find one of them, he'll follow them around until they yell at him to leave. He hasn't been out of the forest since the last elf got angry at him, so he's a bit weary of strangers. Nevertheless, he will still fight for what he believes in, seeing the world in a much different way than others...

Lataeruil walked down the cold paved streets with her head held down, her mistresses chamber had run out of water again. She weaved her way in and out of the streets towards the forest were a small stream lay, Lataeruil had a beautifully crafted pail in her hand. She knew that she would have too make the trip many times too fill up the grand tub in her mistresses chamber. Lataeruil quickened her pace, she knew the queen was most impatient. Finally coming too the outskirt of the forest she weaved her way in and around the trees, stopping only when she heard the calm flow of the stream.

Lataeruil carefully picked up her clean dress before positioning herself propped up on her knees. Bending her body far enough too scoop the water into the pail with one swift movement. Placing the pail beside her she scooped up the cool water in her hands too drink gently from, she dragged her small hand across her forehead too cool herself down. Standing up and brushing herself of she picked up the pail again, careful too not spill the water that was almost over flowing.

Head back towards the direction she had thought she had come from she walked on for what seemed like a few minutes till the forest thickened. Lataeruil frowned, panic rising in her chest. She was not usually the one who went into the forest to get the water, but today she had been sent instead of the other maid. Lataeruil walked on in panic, her head turning this way and that as she saw the sun light darken the tears forcefully pushed out of her eyes.

Leaf hid behind a particularly large group of shrubs, staring at the stranger. What is she doing...he thought, tightening his grip on the staff in his hands.
It was two thirds his height and crudely carved out of a large stick. It had been very useful to him in heavy situations. It was his choice of defense without having to use his powers, although this lady didn't seem too dangerous.
He remembered all the people who wondered into the woods. Mostly girls with pails of water like this one, and all of them annoyed by his presence. However, this one seemed different. He crept out from the shrubs. His footsteps were like whispers, completely muffled out by the rustling of the trees. The sun was just about to dip below the horizon, casting an eerie orange glow through the leaves of the many trees.
"H-hello." He said quietly, keeping his staff at the ready and keeping his distance. If there was one thing the forest taught him, it was that looks can be deceiving.

Lataeruil gasped and her tears broke free when she dropped the pail of water. She turned around, her long snowy hair open and now tangled, she looked at the man behind her as she clutched her clothes closer while slowly backing away. Her lips trembled as she saw the man and the strange looking staff in his hands. "Please...I mean no harm. Please do not hurt me" her voice was soft and scared, her tall, slim body shook. Her back finally hit a tree, before she slid down sobbing.

She just wanted too go home! She was late, her mistress was probably furious and to make matters worse...she had spilled the water she was suppose to gather for her mistresses bath. Lataeruil shuddered at the thought of the punishments she would earn for her stupidity, she should have just told the Queen that she did not know her way around the forests instead of being so brave and haughty. Lataeruil knew she was overreacting but she wondered if she would ever find her way back home.

Leaf lowered both his staff and his guard. He tilted his head, unable to understand why she was so sad. He looked at the bucket. Next to it was a puddle where the water had been spilled. He held out a long, slender hand, feeling power flowing through it. He raised it a couple inches, causing the ground itself to move. The earth seemed to pop up in rods, lifting the bucket up and placing it before the trembling woman. He willed the earth to form a bowl around the puddle. The makeshift bowl disconnected with the earth and floated over to the pail. Stretching his fingers out, he let the water seep through the bottom of the bowl, purifying it and refilling the bucket completely.
"You ok?" He said, struggling for the words. It had been such a long time since he spoke.

Lataeruils eyes instantly widened when she saw the magical surge flow out of the boy and underneath the ground in order to restore the water. Her eyes more fearful than ever, she had heard that most elves had lost their powers...then how did he still have his? Was this the reason why he was living out here...in the dangerous forest? She gapped as the pail filled up, Lataeruil leaned her weight against the tree in order too get up. Her eyes dated from the bucket to the boy and then back to the bucket again.

"How..." was all she said as she nodded and bent down to pick up the pail gingerly. Lataeruils eyes a bit awe struck, she looked into the clean. "Thank you" she whispered again as she wiped the drying tears from her cheeks, a few sniffles escaping her mouth. "Who are you?" Lataeruil asked again, her eye brows raised.

Right about now, people normally started to chuck random objects at leaf because of his power, but he again saw that this one was different. She still seemed fearful of him, though. Leaf looked down at his staff and decided if he were to help this person, he might as well leave it behind. He jammed the staff into the earth with a satisfying crunch, the end deep in the ground.
"My name Leaf." He said, walking a bit closer, but not too close. "You ok?" He repeated again.

Leaf? She thought to herself, usually elven names were...meaningful and had many hidden meanings. But his...his name was just leaf. Like the leaves on the trees, like the leaves that changed colour and died when it got colder, she nodded. "Yes. I am fine...thank you" she whispered at the end. "My name is Lataeruil. I work for the queen...have you...lived here all your life?" she asked him raising an eyebrow, how could any one bare to live all alone in the dark and wilderness?

She clutched the pail closer too her and smiled at the boy. Bowing her head curtly she looked around her surroundings confused, "would you have any idea on how too get out of here? I need to get back to the mistress before it gets dark." she shuddered at the thought of the punishments she would receive.

Leaf's expression darkened a bit when she asked her questions. "I don't know how long I've been here." He said, looking down at his feet. "Outside here, they don't like me. If I stay, they don't know me." He looked up at Lettaeruil. "But you need help, me take you out. But me not sure if I can continue..." He said, willing the bowl he had made earlier back into the earth. "They don't like me..." He whispered to himself. He stared at the spot where the bowl had disappeared, lost in thought. Snapping out of his trance, he grabbed his staff, the earth gladly relinquishing it from it's grasp. "What name your town?" He asked, his English a bit choppy.

Lataeruils face dropped a bit, "they don't like you?" she muttered to herself. She felt sorry for him, being alone in the dreaded forest...day after day, year after year...it just, seemed so wrong to her. She had never gotten why elves were horrible to each other when they were the same race. "Well..don't worry if you help me out of here I'll protect you from the harsh words of people" she told him kindly. Her voice was soft and her eyes were slightly sad as she looked at Leaf.

"My town is called Aman 'Lu" Lataeruil said too him. She gazed in the possible direction her town could be in, "have you ever been there?" she asked Leaf curiously. Her eye brows were raised and she was standing again, Lataeruil looked at his staff curiously. "Who taught you to use magic?" she asked him again, her golden eyes wide and shining. She had often wished she had known how to use magic, but she had never seen an elf with magical powers...well at least not in her generation.

Leaf remembered every town he visited, each had one thing about it that was unique to that town. Aman Lu was the first town he had wandered into, he knew it's exact location.
"This way." He said, briskly walking in one direction, unmarked and without a path.
"I always had magic." He said, pausing. He turned to Lataeruil. "You gonna follow?"

Lataeruil nodded when he asked her if she was following her or not, "Yes I am. And...you have always had magic?!" she tilted her head to the side and ceased walking f or a moment before taking too a brisk walk to catch up to Leaf. As they walked almost silently through the forest she looked this way and that, she had never been here and was most fascinated by everything she saw around her. The huge trees and the cute looking animals, she loved the way it smelled out here too! So fresh and clean.

Gripping the pail closer to her she walked slower, "How much farther is my town Leaf?" she asked him frowning a little. Even though her body was lean and fit she wasn't. Lataeruil was tired from the walk already and wished to stop, but kept moving making no complaints what so ever. She just occasionally sighed impatiently, she wondered what kind of fit the Queen was throwing. This thought made her quiver with fear.

One good thing that being in an area without other people is that Leaf didn't see many faces. So whenever he met anyone, he could see emotions much clearer. This eventually developed over time as a defense mechanism. Leaf had noticed Lataeruil's discomfort.
"About 258 steps away." He replied.
"You want rest?" He asked, cocking his head to one side, curious eyes staring at Lataeruil. Even though he was an adult, he still had a child like demeanor.

Lataeruil nodded, "Yes...rest would be nice." she whispered softly. By this time the girl was panting quietly, "I am not used to walking so much..." she whispered again, but this time mostly to herself. She set the pail down briefly and sighed as she leaned against a tree, she smiled at Leaf. "You must get very lonely here" she said in a kind voice. For the first time she took in his face, he had large innocent golden eyes and dark orange coloured hair. She also noticed the scar that ran slightly underneath his jaw and it seemed to disappear underneath his shirt.

Lataeruil realized he looked more delicate than the usual elves she saw around her town. After she had regained her stamina back again she picked up her pail. "Alright, we can start walking again" she said nodding. Lataeruil wondered how he got food here, she frowned. He did look a little skinny for a man his age, she would feed him once they got back to Aman Lu. That would be her thanks, she followed him in silence as he led the way.

"Lonely?" Leaf asked, turning to look to her. He had lived in the forest for his entire conscious life. Being around others was considered a treat to him. Leaf was about to offer to carry her before she got up, saying she could go on. He had to carry a bear cub to it's mama once.
"We almost there." He said. A few steps later, they exited the woods. The full moon welcomed them with a bright blue light. Leaf hesitated, he hadn't been farther than this in a long time.

"Yes, lonely. Do you not want to be around people?" she asked curiously as she forced her legs to trudge on. Lataeruil nodded, she smiled as they exited the woods and came back to the familiar path that Lataeruil had come from. Her smile and gladness instantly disappear as she saw the big, bright moon over their heads, her legs shook in fear as she glanced nervously up at the castle. Lataeruil turned back to Leaf, "Thank you so much Leaf." she whispered before turning away she opened her mouth to speak to him again. "Would you..like to come inside the castle and have food?" she whispered. Hopefully if she took Leaf with her and he helped in explaining what had really happened the Mistress wouldn't be as furious at her.

"I'm not around much people" He replied. Food? He hadn't had any food except what he could hunt and yank from the ground. All his instincts were telling him to go back, back into the safety of the woods, the shield of the trees from the outside world. But this person, she had been so nice to him. Against all the voices screaming in his head to turn back, he was surprised to feel his legs walking forward toward her. "Ok, I go with you." He heard himself say.

Lataeruil nodded, she knew what he meant. He was used to being lonely all the time, she couldn't imagine herself trying to live alone. She would have lost it a long time ago if she were in Leafs position. "Alright, and please. Try to stay with me" she whispered to him as she took his hand lightly and directed him up the winding path. She stopped in front of the door and sighed before pushing it open, as soon as she stepped inside the castle she felt all eyes on her. Lataeruil bit her lip as she saw the Queen give her an icy glare, as she bowed down her head she heard a slur of harsh words come out of the Queens mouth, it was spoken in the elven tongue. Lataeruil could feel tears stinging her eyes.

Leaf blushed slightly when she took his hand. One thing he had made sure to do was to keep his distance between the other person to avoid touching them.

Leaf heard the harsh words. He didn't know what they meant, but he knew that the...person was angry. He also knew it was making Lataeruil cry. His expression darkened for a second. Anything childlike about him was gone now.
"Enough!" He boomed, raising his staff high above his heads. All the guards in the room raised their weapons.
Leaf brought down the staff with all his strength, creating a nice crack in the polished floor, which preceded to shake violently. A couple of the decorations fell off of their posts, falling to the ground with a clang. Due to the shaking, the guards all dropped their weapons. Just as soon as the quake came, it left, leaving everyone in a stale, eerie silence.

(things are getting interesting...)

Lataeruil flinched at the harshness and the loudness of Leafs voice. Her tear stained face looked up at him surprised, she closed her eyes and held the pail close to her body as she felt the ground shake, sliding down to the floor after the quake was over she looked around the room slightly dumbfounded. She looked up at Leaf from the ground, her eyes still wide. She small smile broke through her scared face, her glance shifted back to the Queen who looked just as dumbfounded as Lataeruil had been a few moments ago. Leaf had no idea how much she was thanking him in her head right now, no one had bothered to ever stand up for her.

Leaf, however, was still enraged. "Who do you think you are, eh?!" He said, yanking his staff out of the ground. Another tremor, this one small, was felt throughout the room as he did so. "Yeh don't treat your own kind that way!" He said, waiving his staff in the air. All the people in the room flinched every time the staff threatened to come down, fearing another shake. The queen, even though shocked by the quake, held a stern expression in the face of Leaf's words. Yet, he went on. "I not around here much, and when I have, I treated horribly." He offered a hand to Lataeruil, but kept his eyes trained on his target. "I don't like that feeling, and I don't think she does either."

Lataeruil took his hand and got up from the ground with his help. She quickly moved her small frame behind Leafs taller and broader one, she peeked at the Queen from underneath his arms. The pail still tucked snugly in the crook of her arm, she saw the Queens eyes brimming with rage. The lady opened her mouth to speak, "Who do you think you are? Barging into my castle and telling me how to treat my servants!" her voice was equally as loud and booming as Leafs. Her body quivered behind Leaf as she heard the Queen say something to Lataeruil again, she told her she would "see" her later after this stranger was gone. Her body froze when the Queen said that, she knew she was in for a beating. Lataeruil bowed her head behind Leaf and said nothing.

Leaf's voice suddenly went from angry to cold as ice, his eyes equally as piercing. This lady reminded him a lot of a wolf, defending it's territory. "I don't care if you're the ruler of the entire earth! No one is to be treated like that. It's not right." The room was painfully silent now.

Lataeruils voice was weak when she spoke, "Leaf, I think it would be better that you leave now..." she whispered. Her eyes brimming with tears again, she gulped. The knot in her throat growing tighter, "Please" she added, the last thing she wanted was for some one to get hurt because of her. Her hand was on his shoulder as she avoided the gaze of the Queen, she knew if looks could kill...she would certainly be dead by now.

"Right? Since when does a ruler have to worry about what is right and what is wrong?" the Queen scoffed. "I have never even seen you in this town. So if I were you I would keep quiet" the Queen snarled out, by now the Queen had risen, her tall graceful form seemed to be guiding over to Leaf.
