Since Tarian and his men were already stationed in a camp within the light elves' territory, it was only a matter of hours before they arrived at the city. Several of his father's troops were already there to greet him. They had been sent a week beforehand to keep an eye on the light elves' activity, as well as make sure that the path to the city was clear and well-guarded. And fortunately, it was. Tarian's men stayed behind as he rode towards the leader of the other troops. "How is the situation here?"
The general that served below him, Lusek, bowed his head in respect before speaking. "Things have been rather silent, your highness," he answered. "So far we have gone undetected. As soon as you give the word, we will strike. I expect you shall be leading us?"
The prince smiled cooly. "Why, of course general. Would you expect any less of me?"

Once Tarian was finished speaking to his second in command, he addressed both the troops on what their current mission was. And the one they had been given by the king was a daring one: to attack the enemy stronghold head-on. The king believed that the warriors he sent out were fully capable of completing the task. And he was right. The number of men the prince had with him were strong and intelligent. They should have no problem capturing the fortress. This time they would not be pushed back. This time they would win and end this war for good. And so with those thoughts in mind, Tarian led his men to the castle gates.
