It was like any other day in Euryneos. Prince Lamont was headed off to Devonshire to visit his best friend, Dante. Him and Dante met when his parents held a birthday celebration for their son's fifth birthday. The two countries have been allies for quite sometime, and their bond seem to have strengthened when Lamont and Dante became friends.

Since it wasn't that far of a travel, Lamont took one of his many horses there. Over all it was about one to two hours by hourse and carriage, and three by horse. Today was a special day for him since it was their fifteenth year of their friendship. Lamont wasn't the best gift-giver, but he tried hard for Dante.

(lol yeah im mostly victorian and medieval period lol)

Dante ran around like a crazy person today. It was a special day indeed. It was the fifteenth year of him and his best friend being friends. That made it special. He was 20 years old now and he was so excited. Everything had to be perfect. He had the servants bustling about trying to straighten everything out and make it perfect. He had all of his favorite activities planned out. A swim, walk in the woods, eating, archery, hunting. He was ready. This was such great dayfor him.

His pure white hair and sparkling green eyes lit up as he could barely contain his excitement. He did not know why he was so excited today. He saw Lamont like once every couple of days anyway. He just had the feeling that today was going to be one of the best days of his life. He stood at the front gate with a couple of servants holding his horse to keep it still. Where was lamont?

Lamont arrived moments later, and had his horse trot over to Dante's. Once it stopped Lamont looked over at Dante, before pouncing on him, tackling the young man to the ground. "Did you think I would forget?" He asked sitting on top of his friend. The servants around then looked at their Prince nervously, hoping that Lamont didn't hurt him in anyway.

"Take the horses." Lamont the ordered. Two young boys came up, and grabbed the horses by the reins before turning his attention back to Dante. "Here." He stated pulling out a small package from a pouch attached to his belt.

Dante laughed as he fell to the ground. He was so happy. As he smiled his dimples on his cheeks showed up and he wrestled around a moment in the dirt with his friend.
"I would never think you would forget. I was just so excited I could not sit by and wait for you at the house."
He looked at the package with a grin.
"What did you get me now?"
He sat up pushing his friend off of him. He snapped his fingers and a young boy brought a present over wrapped in a dark purple cloth.
"Heres yours to."

Lamont looked at the package and took it from the young boy. "Crap. I am not the best at getting people gifts."The young man stated as he unwrapped his package. He liked the cloth it came with, so he planned on keeping it for another time. "Now what'd you get me?" Lamont asked looking at the small box. It was a different color than the cloth it came in, but it was a nice box. "Don't tell me you went to the ends of the earth to find it." Lamont stated looking at Dante.

Dante began to unwrap his but slowly. He grinned at Lamot with a joking expression on his face.
" THe one thing you have been pestering me for. Its a reciept to pick up a homemade elven bow and blessed aarow set from the villiage square. Isent it wonderful?"

He focused on opening his present.
"What about me?"

"No way!" He exclaimed happily. "I'm going to shoot an apple from your head you know that right." He stated chuckling. Lamont then thought about his gift, and chuckled nervously. "I saw your book collection, and noticed that your missing one of the final books, so I went looking ever where for it. I eventually found it three kingdoms over, and don't even get me started on how much I paid for it. My parents weren't the happiest, but as long as it makes you happy I don't care." Lamont then added smiling lightly.

Dante looked at the book with a grin. He set it down and tackled Lamont to the ground happily. He slugged him playfully on the shoulder while straddling him.
"YOu are the best friend I have and can ever have. I would never leave you for anything. Want me to send a servant to get your bow and arrows?"

Lamont laughed loudly. "I knew you'd like it." He stated. When he was slugged in the shoulder, the young prince punched Dante back. "Sure, but I can't shoot if you're sitting on me." He soon added chuckling. "And we you ever planning to leave me?" Lamont then asked jokingly. He considered Dante a brother. "I'm happy my parents invited you over that day. You know I over heard them talking, and they almost didn't invite you. But my mother convinced my father to invite your family over since they had a son, and most of the families had daughters." He then added placing his hands behind his head.

Dante smiled and fell down next to his best friend. He crossed his hands on his chest.
"I am so happy they did to. If I never met you I dont think I would be able to survive. YOu complete me. Promise no matter what we will always be together. Best freinds forever."
He sat up and smiled at him.

Lamont looked at him, and chuckled. "You think you'll be able to handle me for that long?" He asked with a grin on his face. "Prince Lamont!" An out of breath voice exclaimed. Lamont looked, and groaned. It was his parents annoying messenger. The man wasn't in the best shape. He was short and round, his face seem to be molded into a frown or a look in displeasure. "I've finally caught up with you. You're parents didn't authorize your visit." Lamont scoffed, and rolled his eyes. "Dante is the most important person to me, why do I care-" The man placed up his hand, and finished speaking. "They have found a suitor for you, and you're getting married in one week." Lamont's world crashed in on him. "I told them that I'm not interesting in getting married right now, and especially not to those stuck up bitches." He huffed frowning. "Oh well, they knew that they royal line needed to continue, so they picked on for you. They should be here any minute." Lamont stood up, and looked at Dante. "Tonight." He stated in a strange language. They had created a new lanuage that only the two of them know, so their parents wouldn't know what they were saying about them.

Dante frowned at this exchange. His parents had left not to long ago to find a girl for him. Something about looking in the city of Saint Claire for this girl who was supposed to be quite beatiful. He growled. For some reason he was not like other guys. He did not wish to womanize. He did not want to drink and have sex with every girl. He did not even think of girls as that attractive to him. He did not know why though. Your place? He responded in there own language. It was never odd to him that they were such good friends that they could talk this way. He gave his friend a huge hug and kiss on the cheek.
"YOu know I will always love you buddy. If you need anything come see me and do not forget to send a servant to grab your bow."

"Sure" He replied. He hugged Dante back, however when he was kissed Lamont's light tanned face became a shade of pink. "Oh, and once you are married you can't see each other anymore." The messenger stated. "Parents orders." Lamont looked at the short man. He snapped his fingers, and a servant came over with his bow, and arrow. "This is has never missed. I would have loved game rabbits or birds, but you seem a lot better." He hissed. "P-prince....y-you can't be serious."Lamont readied the bow. "Leave. And tell my parents that if they ever tell me that I can't see Dante, I'll kill them." The fat man in fear turned around, and ran away as fast as he could.He placed the bow down, and sighed deeply. "So much for today being the best" Lamont stated sighing.

Dante stood there he felt horrible. When that guy said that they would never be able to see each other he felt as if he would pass out. He grabbed Lamonts shoulder to help steady himself. He frowned as the messenger left.
"We can leave together lamont. Leave until they die. We do not have to deal with this. We can go and be together forever as best friends. His eyes were welling up with tears and he hugged Lamont close to him. He did not want to lose his best friend for anything. We can make it the best day ever. We can keep it from being a bad day. We still can do that. We do not have to let this small thing keep us from having a great day.

'Best Friend' that phrase wasn't sitting right with him. Lamont hugged Dante back, at least until his parents showed up. "Son, get in the carriage now. King Opta, and his daughter have been waiting for you." His mother stated poking her head out of the window. "And I'm going to have a talk about what you said to Mathew." His father added actually leaving the carriage. "My house tonight,I won't have any candles lit, but my window will be open."He told Dante, before turning around and leaving. "Oh!And look on the last page of the book. I wrote something there." Lamont then stated before he opened the door and entered the carriage.

Dante watched him leave with a frown. He did not want Lamont to go but he just sat down and sighed. No point in dwelling on sad things. He opened his book to the last page and read it with a grin. (you will have to tell me what it says)
He went home and walked inside. He laid down on his bed and began to read his new book.

The note was written in their made-up language, and it read
'It's been fifteen years since we first met, and it's been the best fifteen years. I know that since we're going to be kings soon that we're going to get married to some princess, and we won't see eachother that often, but I wanted to tell you that no matter who I marry that you are the only person who I'm going to love. Dante, I don't know when along our friendship, but I fell in love with you.
Lamont sighed deeply as he returned to his castle to find the king and princess standing outside. "My daughter couldn't wait to see him. She always had liked Lamont." The man stated placing an arm around his daughter. "Father, please." She stated blushing. Lamont groaned and sighed deeply. "Mother, really do I have to?" Lamont asked opening the door. The mother nodded her head, which made Lamont leave the carriage all huffy. He walked right by the King and Princess without saying a word. 'My heart went to Dante a long time ago...'He whispered as he headed off into his room.

Dante had fallen asleep sometime during his reading of the book. His mind was in a jumble. Lamont fell in love with him. Dante knew he felt the same. He just did not wish to admit it. It was scary. People who were of the same gender and got together were killed for it. He just did not know how to react. Perhaps keeping it a secret between them would work. They could get married and have familys and yet spend time together. It would make sence to him. He would discuss it with Lamont when he went over to his house.

After much deliberation Lamont's parents finally were able to talk the prince out from his room, and to meet with the princess. He was forced to put on a cleaner appearance, even though his voice was dirtier than a pig's pen. They ate outside since it became nice out again. "So Lamont are you excited to marry my daughter?" Opta asked smiling. Lamont scoffed, and placed a piece of meat into his mouth. Once he finished the young man looked at the king and sighed. "No. I have no interest in your daughter. As beatuiful as she is, I have no interest. This is a forced marriage, I'm sure your daughter feels the same. Now excuse me." Lamont wiped his mouth and stood, as he turned to leave his father stood up. "Son, you know the law. If you have interest in men you are going to be killed." Lamont's blood ran cold, and he shivered. "Father, I said I had no interest in HER, not in women in general." He replied before leaving.

Dante slept in fits and finally could sleep no more. He got dressed in some comfortable clothes and snuck outside the palace into the woods. He would not be back all night and he knew they would freak but with his parents away he hoped that it would give him a chance to get away from this place for a while without detection. In his pocket was his book. He walked slowly through the woods. The sun was just past noon so he had time. He found himself a relaxing clearing and laid down. He began to read again but to much was on his mind. He wanted to see Lamont so badly.

Lamont sat in his room, and thought about what his father told him. If anything he could take whatever money he can gather, and flee the country. The prince would also have to take Dante with him, since he wanted to be with him. He rolled over in his bed, and sighed deeply. 'If only my brother was here.' Lamont had an older brother, but he was only three when he was killed in a major battle. He could barely remember him, but he always felt safe around him.

Dante read until nightfall and then took off to Lamonts grounds. He made it there in about an hour. He had traveled this way enough to know how to get there. He found Lamonts bedroom and slipped inside. He saw Lamont sitting in the room and went over to him jumping into his arms and giving him a large hug.
"I have missed you so much. How is your new bride?"
