"You are not boring me," Wyatt informed him, pointedly. "And if you want to go home, I can drive you home. It would probably be best to tell your father where you were, anyway." Wyatt still held his controller.

Logan laughed a little, "That's something new, I don't think my father has ever really cared where I am." he still avoided Wyatt's look, the words he spoke stung just a bit, his father didn't really care what was going on his life, unless it had to do with making him more money.

"Quite different from my mother. It's a good thing she hasn't..." Wyatt paused, and then shuffled over towards his window, peering out. "Oh. She is home." He sighed, almost mournfully. His entire mood had just changed. From the look of the house, and his room, Wyatt spent all of his time in his room when he was home. He even had his own fridge. He and his mother didn't just not get along...they fought, and often ended up physically fighting. Though Wyatt would never hit her--he just threw his arms up and let her do what she wanted, while trying to flee.

Logan despite being very self indulgent he noticed the tone in Wyatt's voice shift, and he watched as Wyatt moved to the window. His mother was home, which typically wouldn't seem like a bad thing but it was for Wyatt. "Everything okay?" he asked curiously, he wondered if it was okay he was over right now or if Wyatt would get in trouble.

Wyatt knew he was going to get in trouble for bringing a stranger into the house. Especially a strange male--given Wyatt's track record with her, she already suspected what he'd refused to tell Logan earlier, that he was only interested in other males. She was schizophrenic and tyrannically religious, and a very hateful woman, to boot. She was not going to be a happy camper. "...I think if we are going to leave, we should try to avoid her," he said, lowering his head slightly.

Logan looked to him a bit worried, he no longer avoided his eyes, clearly he was frightened of her, "Look," he said quietly moving to his side, "Just tell me how I can get out by avoiding her... and I'll do it." he wanted Wyatt to be alright, and he didn't like the feeling that formed in his stomach when Wyatt looked at him like that. "She won't even had known I was here."

"I drove you here...I'll take you home," Wyatt murmured, quietly. "We can sneak out. She is usually in the den, so if we avoid it, we should be fine..." He still looked frightened. He distracted himself momentarily by shutting off his game and television.

"Are you sure?" Logan said cautiously, "It's not too much work for me to walk home really..." his voice was concerned now, he could tell Wyatt was more on edge than usual, he wondered how bad his mother really was.

"No, no...besides, it would be worse if she ended up just finding you, and I was not with you," Wyatt reasoned, before clearing his throat. "Should we get going?"

"Okay." Logan said unsure, but he snatched his bag as fast as he could, "Ready." he said waiting for Wyatt to lead him, he hoped that they wouldn't get caught for his sake.

Wyatt led the way out of his room and downstairs. He peered around the corner into the den, noting that his mother was in there but not facing them. He hurried to the door, and turned around...just as she was. Quickly, he rushed outside and into his car, ushering Logan in. He had just pulled out of the driveway when his mother stepped outside, feverishly nosy as to what was going on. She looked a lot like Wyatt--spindly in stature, with dark hair and sickly yellowish eyes. Thankfully, Wyatt was able to get away before she reached them.

Logan felt odd running around Wyatt's house like this, and there was a feeling of panic that rushed over him when he saw Wyatt's mother follow them out to the car, but Logan didn't have a say in the matter as they drove off quickly. From the looks of her he could tell that they were family, but there was something about her that seemed strange.
As Wyatt drove he looked terrible, and Logan could tell something was seriously bothering him about this. "Are you going to be okay?" Logan asked worried. |
Wyatt's hands were shaking slightly as he drove, and there was a deep sadness, along with fear, dominating his eyes over all else. Other than that, he seemed fine. That wall, again. "I...no, probably not. I'm in for it when I return home. I...I'm not supposed to have people over. Especially other males." That sounded awkward, like there was a hidden meaning behind it.

Logan watched Wyatt closely, and he could see that he was shaking, and it was even more apparent when he spoke. "Pull over." he said firmly, there was no use of them driving when he was like this, they could get in an accident.

"Wait." Wyatt drove for a bit more, making sure they were far enough away that his mother wouldn't bother tailing after them, and then pulled over onto the side of the road. He put it in park, and wrapped his arms around himself, still shaking a bit.

Logan waited patiently for Wyatt to pull over. It was strange to see him react like this, it was usually hard to see any emotion from him. But now Logan could tell he was scared, and he needed to figure out what was wrong, "Why is it so bad that I was over at your house?" he asked softly.

"..." Wyatt dodged his question, deftly. "I...am just going to get it when I come home. Tzalmon is safe from her for tonight. Right now, all that anger will be focused on me, since I brought someone over."

Logan could tell that Wyatt was avoiding his question, "I get that part..." he said steadily, "But why is it that big of a deal, I mean we were supposed to be working on a project for school anyway." he searched Wyatt's eyes for an answer, something had to be making her so mad, and Logan wanted to avoid this in the future.

Wyatt's wall suddenly came back up for a split three seconds, in which he fixed Logan with a blank stare...before the flood of emotion returned. "...She simply doesn't like me having other people over. Especially other males."

Logan sighed when Wyatt looked to him without emotion again, "You don't have to hide anything from me... I know that you're struggling with something, and I just want to help you... okay?" he tried to sound as sincere as possible, which he was, but he knew that his actions from earlier wouldn't really help.

"I'm fine. My mother and I don't get along. She doesn't like me having anyone over, at all." Wyatt fell silent after that. He really wasn't struggling with anything. He was terrified of what he would be returning home to.

Logan didn't want to press him on the matter but the way he was acting made Logan believe something bad was going to happen to Wyatt when he returned home. "Is she going to hurt you?" he asked worried.

"Knowing her, and her reaction to things like this? Probably, yes," Wyatt mused, shoulders up to his chin. He wasn't looking forward to returning home. But he had to. He had nowhere else to go...unless he stayed in his car all night. He had his bag in the car--he could do his homework, still.

A load of guilt washed over Logan, how could he have ever been so cruel to Wyatt before without getting to know him? The poor kid had so many things in his life that made it difficult, and even his own mother at which most people had support... she was the one that treated him just as horribly.
It suddenly occurred to him as to what he could do for Wyatt, "Stay with me." he said simply, not wanting to budge on the matter. |
Wyatt blinked. "...? I don't have anything with me, though...clothing for tomorrow, a toothbrush, my blanket and pillow..." he murmured, shifting slightly. "...If my brother could get her to leave the house for a bit, I could rush in and grab some things, but..." Tzalmon would do that for him, but there were only a few ways to do that. One was suggesting going out and looking for Wyatt.
