"Well then," Logan said through biting a bit of his nail, "Why don't you worry about all that research stuff, and I'll worry about the presenting part, its simple." He waved his hand as if to show Wyatt that he was being too anal about the whole thing.

After sitting in silence for a moment he realized Wyatt didn't argue with him, "Why don't you ever defend yourself?" he blurted as he brought one foot up onto the be, still laying down.

Mira-Charma13 09-22-2010 06:54 AM

"I will remind you that the we both have to research equally and present equally, or our grade will drop. It's on the rubric." Wyatt paused in his game of Solitaire for a brief moment, before humming and continuing on.

"Petty arguments are not worth my time."

muffin08 09-22-2010 06:58 AM

Logan knew he would get Wyatt eventually to a place where he was being his true self to him, not this perfected figure that didn't show really any feeling. "Fine then, mr. robot, what the hell do you want me to do?" He now stretched in the bed with his arms stretched out as long as possible, his shirt riding up the least bit revealing his skin.

Mira-Charma13 09-22-2010 07:01 AM

Wyatt held out the red laptop to him. "Which part of our topic are you most comfortable researching?" he asked, simply. He did notice that his shirt was riding up, but he didn't stare. Wyatt was usually quite reserved about his feelings, but if asked, he would admit them without question. He wasn't often one to hide who he was, though he was always monotone.

muffin08 09-22-2010 07:05 AM

Logan yawned once again, he didn't really feel like thinking right now, "I don't know... just tell me what to do, or else I'll never get anything done." he rolled his eyes. This would be a long study session and he'd almost rather be around April than here. He now rolled on his side supporting himself by his elbow.

Mira-Charma13 09-22-2010 07:08 AM

Wyatt rolled his eyes, as well--one of the first signs of emotion from him since the two had met. He could be emotional, but he wasn't often emotional, since he was heavily teased. He stepped away, mulling something over in his mind, and absently took his old coat off to hang it up, since he was starting to get hot.

Earlier in the morning, he'd been shoved violently against his locker at school, and he had a big bruise on his arm from it. It wasn't visible while the coat was on...but once it was off, it was almost painful to look at, riding up from his elbow to his forearm.

muffin08 09-22-2010 07:21 AM

Logan watched with a smug grin on his face as he watched Wyatt rolled his eyes, finally he was getting somewhere. He was now treating this as game, if he was going to have to suffer through this, he could have a little fun to say the least. His grin was wiped off nearly instantly when he saw Wyatt remove his jacket to reveal a large bruise across his arm, it look bad, really bad.

"What the hell happened to you?" He said now clearly looking right at the bruise.

Mira-Charma13 09-22-2010 07:23 AM

Wyatt blinked at him, like he thought he was crazy, but then he recalled this morning. His shoulders elevated a bit, almost to his chin, and he held his arm so the bruise couldn't be seen anymore. He looked quite vulnerable, the iciness in his eyes having faded to the look of a kicked puppy.

"Nothing that doesn't usually happen to me when I try to use my locker like a normal student does," he replied, quietly.

muffin08 09-22-2010 07:29 AM

Logan watched closely as Wyatt recoiled, and now tried to hide the scar. His voice was now quieter than usual, and Logan could tell something was wrong. Something propelled him to stand up and approach him, the look on Wyatt's face showed that something clearly was wrong, or not right.

He reached over without asking and pulled Wyatt's arm to him and examined it more closely to himself, "This isn't just from some accident..." he said seeing how large, and harsh it was.

Mira-Charma13 09-22-2010 07:32 AM

"As I said...it's nothing that doesn't normally happen when I try to use my locker like a normal student, in-between classes..." On closer examination, there were several other bruises like this, some big, some small. It looked like, due to the shape of the most recent one, that Wyatt was repeatedly shoved into the door of his locker, and probably someone else's.

When Logan touched his arm, he involuntarily tried to weakly jerk it away. He didn't like having his bare skin touched. He had his eyes fixed on the floor.

muffin08 09-22-2010 07:36 AM

Logan could tell that Wyatt was still lying, and upon closer inspection it was worse than he thought, "Why do you lie?" he said holding his arm a bit more firmly, he would get him to tell the truth, he squeezed around one of the bruises waiting to see him show pain, which would mean it was more than just nothing.

Mira-Charma13 09-22-2010 07:38 AM

Wyatt kept trying to jerk his arm away, still refusing to look at him. His pulling became a bit worse--the only reaction he had to the squeezing. "I am not lying," he retorted, voice sounding quite bitter. "Every time I try to go to my locker, someone slams me into it. Or more than one person. It's become an official school sport, in case you've heard people gossiping about 'Freak Bashing.'"

His tone was never raised, but there was a distinct bitterness to his voice that hadn't been there before.

muffin08 09-22-2010 07:43 AM

Once Wyatt explained what had actually happened Logan loosened his grip on him, Wyatt was just as stubborn as he was. Logan's face was in a bit of a shock, he had never seen these things happen, or maybe he choose not to see them happen. He wasn't friends with anyone that did such a thing to people, but he didn't try to stop it either. His eyes lowered, "No I didn't know."

Mira-Charma13 09-22-2010 07:45 AM

Wyatt didn't say anything else, for a few minutes. He didn't complain about Logan still holding onto his arm and didn't try to yank it away. He was just very still, and quiet.

muffin08 09-22-2010 07:48 AM

After some silence Logan looked back to Wyatt again, who was still, and held his composure, he wasn't going to show him that he was hurting, or in pain. He spoke more quietly now, "Why do you let them do this to you?" the marks made him wonder if this was the worst of it, or just the beginning, it sickened him that people could do so much damage to a helpless body.

Mira-Charma13 09-22-2010 07:50 AM

"As you've probably noticed, I'm a bit of a stick. I am not strong. When I've tried to defend myself in the past, no one has listened. I've tried more than once. The last time I tried, it was not pretty, and I have not bothered since," Wyatt murmured, eyes still fixed on the floor. He wasn't hiding any sort of emotion that passed over his face, but the only one that was was just a slight bitterness towards his abusers.

muffin08 09-22-2010 07:57 AM

Logan could tell that Wyatt held an anger in him towards the people that hurt him, and he said he had tried to stop them. Logan knew that physical defence wouldn't work in this situation especially when he didn't fight back and it became this serious. He didn't remove his grip when he talked, "They could get expelled if you showed anyone in administration, why do you let them get away with it?"

It was simple logic to Logan, he would some how press charges, and let them deal with it legally, or he would pay them to stay away, one way or another he'd make it happen.

Mira-Charma13 09-22-2010 07:59 AM

"I have tried that, as well. They refuse to believe me. They think it's my mother causing my injuries. She is very mentally unstable, and has hurt me and my brother in the past, though not by her own will--she has a severe form of schizophrenia, and when she doesn't take her medicine..." Wyatt trailed off, leaving that to Logan's imagination.

muffin08 09-22-2010 08:04 AM

When Logan heard this he let go of Wyatt and backed away with concern on his face, no wonder Wyatt had been so negative in nature. The boy had gone through so much, and still went through so much, and yet no one cared to believe him for a second, it was heartbreaking. Logan ran out of words to say, he didn't know what to say, or what was appropriate this was a sensitive subject.

He suddenly was washed over with a need to protect him, "Who are they..." his voice was bitter, he would do something about this, no one deserved to be treated like that.

Mira-Charma13 09-22-2010 08:06 AM

Wyatt looked genuinely puzzled by the strange look on Logan's face. "If you want the truth, it's not one set person. It's random, day by day. I can recognize some faces, but not all. The only way you would know for sure...is to wait for me near my locker, and see. I only visit my locker once a day, after fifth period..."

It was after his lunch, which he had every day. He was aware Logan was in his lunch, but wasn't sure if Logan was aware of the fact, himself.

muffin08 09-22-2010 08:12 AM

Logan looked away, with a scowl on his face, it was more than one person, and it wasn't just some jerk who picks on people, it was a lot of people. "What the fuck is their problem..." he said to himself out loud still not looking at Wyatt, these situations are what drove teenagers to want to hurt themselves or other people. "This shit... causes people to hate everything about themselves, it's sick."

When he said this Logan realized that he didn't know Wyatt well enough to know if he did such things to himself.

Mira-Charma13 09-22-2010 08:14 AM

Wyatt didn't correct him, but he didn't say or show that that was how he felt, either. So it was unclear. He simply watched Logan process what had just happened, quietly. He had a look of sour relief on his face--an odd look, that showed he was still feeling bitter but felt better now that he had some weight off of his shoulders.

muffin08 09-22-2010 08:21 AM

Logan turned to him after he had thought for a moment, Wyatt hadn't said anything to his remark, he moved now deadly close to him and looked him in the eyes, that he didn't fear at this moment. He wasn't going to ask him straight out, it wasn't right, but the look in his eyes said it all, he wanted to know, although he was unsure what he would do about it. He would need to say something... or do something about it, it wouldn't be right to pretend like it wasn't there anymore. It was now a standoff between the two.

Mira-Charma13 09-22-2010 08:23 AM

Wyatt didn't move, and effectively stood his ground. Since he didn't want to talk about it, he attempted to let his eyes show any kind of 'story' about the subject. They darkened a bit, but remained hard and prideful. Wyatt was not an arrogant person, but he also wasn't some pathetic sob story, either. He was a mix between the two. He didn't hate himself.

muffin08 09-22-2010 08:28 AM

Logan stood there as his heart sped up, the thought of not knowing was getting under his skin, he was not the type of person that would ignore this. It bothered him that Wyatt wouldn't say anything to him, or care to show him, clearly he wasn't the bad guy here, yet he treated him just the same. Since he wouldn't budge Logan reached for his hands in hopes of inspecting them, he had feared the worst.
