Elliot looked to him for a second and then to his computer, "You know what, I can finish it later, no problem." He closed his laptop swiftly and put it into its casing, "So where did you want to go for lunch?"
"Well." Velo whipped out the map he'd picked up at the front desk. It was rather confusing and didn't encompass the entire surrounding area. He pointed to a restaurant a few blocks from the main campus. "Here. It's got a good selection of Asian and Italian food...mm...I'm not sure how to get there, exactly, though," he admitted, sheepishly.
Elliot leaned over the map and looked down on it, he was typically good at figuring out where to get places, "Oh, I see, that's not to hard... we just have to walk down here... see?" he dragged his finger across the map on the street they could follow.
Velo clapped his hands together, eagerly. "All right! That restaurant looks like it's so good...so good. We can leave whenever the...ah." The bell rang as he spoke, cutting him off. "Perfect timing. We have about three hours or so..."
"Sounds good to me," Elliot said slinging his bag over his shoulder, "It should only take us ten minutes to get there," he started for the door and waited there for Velonin to follow.
Velo grabbed his own bag, and then bustled along after Elliot. "Much love. I wouldn't have been able to find it on my own," he thanked, as he shoved the map in his pocket.
"No problem," Elliot said with a smile, he placed his hands in his pockets as they walked along campus. Elliot sighed as he looked around campus, it wasn't too busy yet as it was just the beginning of the term, so it was almost perfect for their walk. He directed Velonin along the way until they finally turned the corner, "I think this is it here," he said happily.
The excitement on Velo's face was almost childlike in its...innocence. He gripped Elliot's hand as he started towards the front door. "Yummy. I'm so hungry."
Elliot was shocked for a second at the act of holding hands, but he accepted it, he didn't care and there was no one to hide from. "Me too," he said while they entered the restaurant.
Velo waited to be seated. They were seated by a young woman who seemed enthralled by the fact that they were holding hands, and watched them with curious eyes the whole time she handed out menus.
Elliot noticed that the woman had an eye on the two of them, and it made him a little nervous as his cheeks turned light pink. When he looked over the menu it was a bit intimidating he never really ate out often. "Gosh, there's so much to choose from, I don't even know where to begin."
"Really? I know exactly what I want. Veggie lo mein, rice doused in soy sauce and topped with honey-glazed chicken..." Velo's eyes swam with happiness for a moment. "Mmmm..." He didn't seem to take too much notice to the woman, who was still eyeing them from across the room as she seated another couple.
Elliot laughed, "Well I don't eat out much so I actually don't know a lot about any of these... what would suggest?" he figured Velonin had a good idea about would taste good, more so than he did.
"Well. They serve two major categories--Asian and Italian. Which one are you in the mood for?" Velo began, brightly. Food was one of his few loves in the world. Video games were the only things that beat food.
Elliot hummed trying to think what he would feel more like this afternoon, "I think I might want something asian, if I keep eating so much italian food I'll get a belly." he smirked as he looked on that side, "Although I must say, I'm even more less inclined to know what will taste good when it comes to asian cuisine."
As soon as he finished speaking, Velo went off on a great rant about Asian food and the menu this particular eatery provided. He went over what was good and what was not so good--the list of the latter food was very short. He gave quite a few recommendations, as well, attempting to be as helpful as possible.
After Velonin's lengthy reply Elliot blinked for a second, "Okay..." he said trying to process what he just heard, "I guess I'll go with this," he pointed to an item that he couldn't even pronounce, "You said that'd be good right?"
"Yep, it's quite good. Not an acquired taste, like some other things on the menu," Velo assured him, smiling when the waitress approached. He ordered a highly-priced energy drink and what he wanted off the menu.
Once the waitress arrived he ordered simply a water, and instead of actually saying what he wanted to eat he pointed rather oddly, with an awkward smile that said: 'I couldn't pronounce this even if I tried'. She smiled sweetly before leaving the table, at which time Elliot looked over to Velonin curiously. "You need an energy drink after that sleep we had? It was the best sleep I had in ages."
The waitress, as she walked away, caught wind of Elliot's words and couldn't help giggling. She had been cooing over them ever since they walked in. Velo found it rather flattering, but it was getting annoying.
"I love energy drinks. I always need them. But, I do agree. It was the best sleep I've had in a long, long time," Velo purred, leaning forward slightly. |
Elliot for the first time had actually felt like himself, and he didn't feel like he was trying to please anyone else. It put him in a giddy type of mood, and he didn't care what anyone else thought, he ignored the way the actress talked. He only grinned ear to ear at Velonin's comment, "Well that's nice to hear," clearly Elliot was proud of himself, for someone as Velonin who obviously had been with other men before, he made the assumption that he had made a good impression.
And he had. Velo didn't often get a chance to top. He secretly preferred to bottom. Getting to top was a nice feeling every once in a while, and the deep, sound sleep he'd gotten afterwards only helped to soothe his nerves. "It is, I'd imagine." He grinned, possibly insinuating that he was up for more tonight.
Elliot raised an eyebrow curiously as the waitress brought them their drinks. He stayed quiet as he sipped his water, still with a curious look on his face. He couldn't help but smile like that, it probably looked goofy to anyone else, but he never felt like this before.
Velo gulped down some of his energy drink when it arrived, sighing in relief. He then sipped it for the next few minutes. It was a big can of Monster, and there was enough to last him for the whole meal and more. He didn't elaborate on the hints he'd given.
During their silence, Elliot had a chance to really look at Velonin and take in most of his features, he wondered how he had missed them when they first met. "So..." Elliot said stretching, "What else are you taking this term?" obviously Velonin would have his pick of what he wanted with his stature, but Elliot was curious if they shared anymore classes together.
