Ynx knelt down once in the dining room. A rug lay under the table, and one corner of it had been kicked up. She pointed to it. 'Look.'

"Anyone could've done that," Emmett said. He was sure other kids would come in here. Nothing in here seemed to bug him yet at least.

Ynx nodded. 'The ghosts from the kitchen wouldn't've,' she said. 'They're too neat.'

"I haven't seen a single ghost yet, what are you talking about?" Emmett said. There were no spooking sounds and they haven't ran into anything odd at all. Also, why would a ghost care if stuff was clean?

Ynx waved a hand dismissively. 'Whoever comes in here, then,' she said.

Emmett shook his head. What a strange girl. "Well shall we move on then?" He asked since he hadn't seen anything suspicious.

Ynx nodded. 'Just the bedrooms and the basement to cover now.'

"Alright, well let's get lookin," Emmett said not sure if they'd really find anything. He was excited though to prove that it wasn't ghosts and just some odd sound or animal

Ynx went upstairs. She poked her head into one of the rooms, and furrowed her brow. 'Huh...'

"what is it?" Emmett asked following behind her

Ynx walked inside to let him in. There were some posters on the walls of some current pop bands and a radio, as well as a couple of books. 'It's been personalised.'

Emmett shrugged, "So, maybe some kid is using it as a personal shrine or when he runs away from home." He knew it was a bit odd, but there was still some logic to explain it. He wasn't about to creep out until something started floating and he couldn't see the string or air vent.

'And makes his bed?' Ynx said. 'If a kid comes here, someone comes to clean up after them, and then it would get around this place isn't abandoned.'

"I guess," Emmett said, "But what ghost would make a bed?"

'The same ones that clean regularly,' Ynx said.

Emmett shrugged. "Well he or she is a very odd ghost." He decided to play along for now. It wasn't worth the argument.

'Oh, it's hardly unusual,' Ynx said. She looked inside the next bedroom, and was surprised to see it, too, had been made personal; though it looked more like someone in their forties had slept here.

Emmett rolled his eyes. If ghosts lived here then how come they hadn't seen any. He continued to follow her since he had nothing better to do. "If you say so," He shrugged.

Ynx didn't find anything else strange with the rest of the rooms. She looked up at a panel in the ceiling in the hall, then looked at Emmett. 'Feel like helping me check the attic?'

"Sure why not," Emmett said, "That's the typical spot for ghosts isn't it?" He teased. She was talking about how ghosts were different and liked things clean, but typically ghosts are in the attic or basement.

'Depends on whether or not they mind being seen,' Ynx said. She looked around for a hook to get the trapdoor open, and, failing to find one, looked at Emmett. 'Mind giving me a boost?'

"No prob," Emmett said helping her up. "Aren't ghosts transparent so you can't see them?" He asked.

'Nope,' Ynx said. 'People are just imagining things when they say there's an invisible ghost around.' She opened the trapdoor and hauled herself up, then reached her hand down to help Emmett.

"You're an odd one," Emmett commented as she pulled him up. "So let's find this 'ghost' of yours"

'We'd be extremely lucky if we found it our first time,' Ynx said. 'Unless it haunts this place permanently, we'd have to come a series of times to find it.'
