In a ruined city that used to be a dragon settlement story goes that the two guardian dragons sacrificed themselves to keep a horrid evil at bay inside an amulet. However, the two saviors died in the process leaving their only child behind in a hidden rookery. King Kuma, the appointed king of dragons of the world took the amulet to become a protector and guardian over it. He vowed that he would never have anyone destroy it.

Kuma found the guardian's egg later on after the celebration of the evil sealed away. He took pity and felt the need to care for the egg as his own alongside with his own egg. Taking the egg and placing it in his rookery with his only one he promised the guardians to take care of their orphaned child.




The woods were peaceful and graceful as the breeze made them sway in its might shaking everything in the forest with a gentle push. It was the sound of the forestry's music, but it was disrupted as an elk sprinted out from the bushes. Following behind with teeth bared and claws extended that dug into the ground giving her more speed as Kiba gave chase after her prey. Panting and mouth drooling for the meal to come she leaped over the log ready to tackle her prey over.

The elk darted off to the side leaving the white, feathered dragon skidding off and away from her meal. She lost it. Kiba huffed and shook herself releasing the dirt from her feathers. "Stupid mammal."

The ancient scarred guardian chuckled as he sauntered over to the naive young dragoness, "they always seem to slip from your grip I see." He ruffled his crimson tattered wings, scars glimmering in the low light.
"Come along Kiba, we must keep moving."

Scourch was the oldest of all the guardians and his element was fire. He had seen countless battles in his time and was a warrior during the dark wars and this showed on his scarred hid. He had also lost his left eye in a battle but could still live a full life regardless. The old male had decided to take charge of Kiba after his lord presented the egg to him. He raised her to abide by the rules of the dragon and to remember the great sacrifice her parents had made.

Kiba nodded embarrassingly and bowed her head a little and followed after the old weary dragon. "Yeah. They know how to dart to the side rather too quickly." She glanced up to the crimson beast next to her. "Dad. What's Deephaze doing lately? I rarely see her now a days. How much training does she need to be the next ruler? Its kind of annoying and kind of hard to play on your own." She flicked her tail a little and glanced up. Peach trees. She smiled and stood up on her hindlegs taking a few shakey steps and plucking a few before returning to all four and munching on them.

Scourch looked at the youngster and sat, "being the king's daughter Deephaze has large paws to fill. She must learn all the scriptures and our history, she must master her own element too...I am afraid there isn't much time left for the princess to play. Why don't you interact with the other young dragons I'm sure you'll make friends quickly."

Kiba shrugged some. "Yeah...maybe." She turned around since he stopped. She felt like it was going to be another lecture again. She sat down on her haunches like him. "If King Kuma wanted to take care of me how come he dumped onto you after a while? Was it because I'm nothing like him or his daughter like she is to him? I don't understand. But I'm glad that I have you as a dad instead of some neglecting one who isn't wise and smart like ya."

Scourch chuckled at the young dragoness' muddled up sentences. "Well Kiba I volenteered to take you under my wing. You are the daughter of two very powerful guardians and they were very close to Kuma so he wants the best for you because of that. I wouldn't say I am the best for you but I like to think I'm doing a good job."
The aging dragon smiled at he patted her head.
"Now, why don't we head back for the city, it's getting late."

Kiba nodded a little and stood up on all four and followed after the elder dragon. She looked about the area. She would catch that stupid elk another day. She bowed her head and flicked her tail. "I know, but if I was some daughter of two guardians then how come they dumped me into a rocky patch? I think its silly just to sacrifice themselves over some evil that can be sealed away by another."

Scourch stopped and swung his long neck around and looked down at Kiba, "it takes a special power to seal away that evil...one very few have. Your parent's sacrifice will never be forgotten. As why you were where you were I will never know but there is a reason behind it."

Kiba bowed her head and inched it back. She was pushed back into her place and she overspoke herself. She nodded a little. "Sorry. Just confused." She tucked her tail between her legs and watched him walk ahead again and she followed him back to the city glancing about at the dragons socialising with others or simply walking about.

Scourch smiled softly, "it's alright Kiba I like it when you ask questions. Never be afraid to ask I will always speak the truth just as I have the day you hatched."
He nuzzled her with a purr before walking through the forest and to the clearing.

Kiba smiled softly and nuzzled back. "Thanks dad. I'll even look to you as my only one." She giggled and glanced about the socialising dragons. "I'm going to go look around and see if I can actually make any decent friends."

"Alright Kiba," Scourch lifted his head and looked around, "I'm going to go see Kuma and then heading back to our rookery so don't you be out too late alright?"

Kiba nodded and walked off through the village. Glancing around and about. She stopped and lifted her paw watching a few hatchlings run through her legs and off to go play. She chuckled and shook her wings then continued on.

Something slammed into Kiba from behind.

Scourch made his way up to the castle and headed in. He bowed to the large furry snow dragon sitting on the throne.

Kiba yelped and trotted up a few steps then turned around flicking her tail. "Watch it!"

"No you watch it!," a young male growled as he stood, he was very skinny and petite but his wings mammoth his body.

A young female ran over to them, "are you okay? I'm so sorry Tornado Dust watch where you're going!"

"I was Oíche!"

Kiba bowed her head. "Sorry. I also should've watched too. It's both of our faults."

Tornado Dust grumbled and began pruning his wings.

Oíche giggled, "don't mind him he's just stubborn. I'm Oíche and this is Tornado Dust. What's your name?"

Kiba smiled and wagged her tail a little. "Kiba. Nice to meet you both." Just a small walk and already made two new friends. She grinned more.

"You too," Oíche wagged her tail, "so where abouts here are you from?"

"Elder Scourch's rookery. He's my father. We spend some time around the palace, but instead of keeping me in the spoilt life and all I walk around town." Kiba grinned. "What about you guys?"

"Well we just travel around, we don't have parents so we do what we want."

"When we want," Dust snorted as he stood.

"Oh. What's that like?" She sat down on her haunches and squeaked standing then moved to the side out of the way of a cart rolling back but the owner dragon caught it and dragged it back. "I say we talk somewhere where we don't have to be in the way."

Oíche giggled and nodded, "good idea."

Kiba followed the two down to the less activious part of the city and sat down next to the rundown fountain with a strange looking sea serpent at the top that used to spout water from its nostrils. She smiled. "All right so what's it like being able to do whatever you guys want?"
