Name: Aubrey Lennox
Age: 19 (turning 20 shortly)

(making first post shortly)
----------
Aubrey arose early as she did every morning, but this week she felt happier than usual. It was here birthday soon, and it was always her favourite time of year as right now it was just the beginning of summer. This morning in particular she was preparing her families store to open.
It was a modest shop, with nothing to make it stand out, but Aubrey was determined to help it even just the smallest bit. She had recently cut some flowers from the garden in the back of the house (attached to the shop) fresh lilies, daisies and roses. She opened the main window to let the fresh morning air in, and this is where she placed the basket of flowers, that weren't only for show but she would sell them. Townspeople often passed by and they would make a great gift for a loved one.

Leo got dressed in a rush this morning, since his alarm clock hates him and decided to only give him twenty minutes to get to work this morning. Running down stairs as he tried to put on a sock wasn’t the easiest task in the world, but doable. He snagged a bagel on his way through the kitchen and slipped his shoes on as he ran out the door.
He started jogging down the street, luckily the shop was only a few blocks away. When he finally got there looked to his watch, relieved to see he was just on time. He opened the shops front door, listening to the little bell at the top of the door chime.
“Hey, Aub.” He greeted, slightly out of breathe, but nothing to major.

Aubrey was aware that Leo was going to be late, he almost was every morning so she grew used to it. Her family on the other matter would have something to say about it, but she was just an employee like him. She didn't let her eyes fall on him as he entered she only answered, "Morning," as she pruned some of the flowers she had placed near the window.
She tucked a strand of her red hair behind her ear so she could see more clearly, "Better get to work before my mother catches you." Aubrey warned in a warm tone. Her mother Lavendar, even though her name sounded sweet could be demanding when she wanted to be, especially when it came to Leo's continual tardiness.

"Yes ma'am." He said jokingly while he saluting her. It was kind of funny but the more he thought about it, she always seemed to look after him in little ways like this. Well not always, but for as long as he'd really known her. He had sort of known her in high school, but not really. He knew her family owned the shop, and he knew her name, but he hadn't really known her.
He took a bite of his bagel and walked over to her and her beautiful flowers. He swallowed quickly before speaking. "Nice." He commented and pointing to the flowers. "From your garden?" He asked picking up a daisy and taking in it sweet sent. The smell of fresh flowers always put a smile on his face. He placed it back into the basket before continuing passed her to the front desk to get the cash register ready for the day.

Aubrey smiled lightly, the two of them had become accustomed to each other since he started working for her family. They hadn't really known each other before even though they must have gone to the same school, Leo was much older than she was. The two of them had almost a sibling relationship which she enjoyed, although she was aware of the fact that girls swooned over him every time they visited the shop, and would always ask her his name.
Aubrey watched as he took a daisy in his hand "Mhhm..." she hummed lightly finishing the pruning while he returned behind the counter. "I figured it'd be something else we could sell for the time being." She still stayed at the window idly playing with her hair in thought.
At this time her families money was tight, not because business was slower than usual, but because her grandmother grew ill. The Lennox's business revolved heavily around her grandmother Katherine as that's who created it so many years ago. Now that she grew ill all their income went towards her medical bills yet every doctor that saw her couldn't help.

"I'm sure they'll make a great addition. Liven up the place too." The old, metal, cash register chimed as he opened it. It made a bit of a scratching sound as the old metal pieces scratch against each other, but nothing unbearable, and after the first day you would never notice it any more.
He counted the mornings cash and placed it in the register. Next he would have to make sure everything was stocked and after that came his favourite thing in the whole world. Inventory. He just loved counting things over and over and over…not, but someone had to do it.
“I was talking to Mrs. Higgins yesterday, just after I got home,” Mrs. Higgins was the nicest old lady on his block, lived in his apartment building too. She was the kind of person who always thought you were too skinny, so she’s bring over food to ‘put some meat on those bones’ as she called it. Once he‘d coughed in front of her and she send him to bed, and later brought him soup she’d made. She was sort of like a mother, or grandmother. Either way it was nice to have one of what ever she was.
His mother had died when he was very young, and he had very few memories of her. After his mother died his dad just wasn’t the same. Any time they got into an argument his father always played the victim, and when they weren’t fighting his father was useless. Never cooked, never cleaned, never did anything to help, while Leo had to do everything. He was six and taking care of his own father. So Leo lived with him until he was sixteen, after that he just could take his drama any more. “She said her grandson had a cough. Might stop by later today.”

((haha great!))
Aubrey smiled as she whirled around, she dusted her dress off, it was covered with small pieces of the flower stems. "She really is a nice woman." suddenly Aubrey became excited to hear of her grandson coming over, she had known him from when she was back in school. His name was Gregory, and he was the top of the class, and back then Aubrey quite fancied him, so this news put her in a bit of an excited fluster.
Her cheeks turned pink, "Gregory is ill?" she asked slightly concerned, although she knew that Mrs. Higgins would have sent him over a sneeze from inhaling dust. Nevertheless it made her think of what Gregory must look like now, it had been a few years since they attended school.

“No. Don‘t think he‘s sick. That‘s just Mrs. Higgins.” He said closing the register, the metal once again making it’s signature noise. He looked up from the register to see Aubrey’s face a bright pink. “Don’t you worry you little head. Your precious Greggy is fine.” He said mockingly as a smirk came across his face.
Leo reached under the counter and pulled out a wooden clip board with a little blue pen attached to it by an old piece of string. Everything seemed old in the shop. The register, the bell on the door, the whole store looked like it had been there forever. Which also made it look, and feel, like it belonged in their little town.
He took to the shelves checking stock. Making sure everything was there, and in it’s rightful place. He soon had to stop however; there was a very empty jar at the end of his row.
“Hey, we‘re out of Galangal Root.” He said tapping the little white label on class jar with the tip of his pen. “You know, the ugly thing that people always think it ginger. We got any in the back?”

Aubrey suddenly became very aware that the redness in her cheeks were showing and moved quickly out of Leo's sight if only for a moment waving off the idea, "Oh, come now, its not like that all, I only went to school with him once, that's all..." it was true that she did not know Gregory well, she only admired him from afar. Aubrey was not even sure if he would remember her now, or if he ever cared to know who she was in the first place.
Aubrey fiddled with her dress, a bit flustered due to being called out in such a way. Instead she moved her thoughts to the question Leo now asked, "Galangal Root?" she thought for a moment, "The last time I saw any it was collecting dust on one of the back shelves."
She moved swiftly to the back room motioning Leo to follow, she would most likely need help reaching it. Aubrey's shoes clacked against the old wooden floors as they past the most used shelves, then farther past them they came to the storage area where nearly every surface was covered in a layer of dust. Her finger trailed along the edge of the shelves as she noted the herb names, then she spoke out loud softly when she came to the roots, "Celery root.... Tarro root... oh I've gone to far."
Aubrey stopped in her tracks and looked up, "Of course its not in the right spot." she said unamused with whomever decided to place it at the very top of the shelving unit, "Could you give me a boost?" he looked to Leo for help so she could reach it.

Leo followed her into the back room, looking about the walls as they went. There were so many odd looking plants back there and it made him wonder where they got it all. He continued to read the labels as they went down the hall. After a short walk they stopped.
He stood patiently behind Aubrey and watched as she searched through shelves, muttering the names of the herbs as she went. ‘It would be on the top shelf wouldn’t it.’ he thought to himself. He probably would have just looked himself, except for the fact that the top shelf was a few good feet higher than he was so even if he wanted to try and look for it on his own, he couldn’t.
“Alright, just a second.” He said walking closer to her. He took her left hand and bent down behind her.
“One, two three.” And with the quick motion lifted her up on to his left shoulder, with his right hand on her legs to hold her steady while his left hand held hers to give her support.
“See it?” He asked.

Aubrey was relieved that Leo was strong enough to lift her in such a way as she stepped onto his shoulder he held her legs tightly. Normally this wouldn't be so common for a woman to climb on a man like this, especially while wearing a dress but she didn't care right now as she searched through the shelves.
With much effort she finally reached it and pulled it off the shelf but unluckily it came with a flurry of dust which made her cough loudly and begin to falter back and forth on his shoulders soon she lost her gripping and began to fall with a tiny scream.

He was looking up at the shelves with her when she pulled the correct container down. Unfortunately, in doing to some of the falling dust landed in his eyes forcing him to blink furiously. With her scream came two little words from his mouth; 'Oh' being one and 'shit' being the other.
With quick thinking, he spun around; one hand grasped for any part of her he could find while the other clasped her one hand not holding the jar, pulling her towards him. Though the one part he hadn’t anticipated was him losing his balance and landing on the floor himself, taking her down with him.
Upon landing with a thunk the wind knocked out of him and the back of his head hit the base of a wooden shelf.
His eyes shut and brow furrowed in pain, he coughed a few times as he tried to suck back in air. When he finally caught his breathe he opened his eyes slowly. All was well again; the world had stopped spinning, they were both okay, and she was on top of him…wait, what? When he really looked he realized his left hand rested on her upper arm, and his left was on her hip. At the moment his head was throbbing, and he was still concentrating on breathing, but he had to say something to make the little bit of tension he felt go away, so he cracked a joke.
"You know, I always figured you for a bottom person, but I guess you learn something new every day." He chuckled a little, making himself feel better in the process.
:: I assumed she fell backwards, because forwards she could land on her feet just fine. ::

((no worries!))
Before Aubrey knew it she was on the ground, but luckily on something softer than the hard floor, it was Leo. Once she finished coughing and was able to realize where she was, her cheeks turned red. "Oh my god, are you okay?" she asked seeing that he was in pain, her worry soon faded when he had to and crack a joke.
"Seriously Leo?" Aubrey said aggravated, she was going to roll off of him but he was holding her hip and arm, which made it difficult to move. "No wonder I never see you with a girlfriend." she snickered a little, and wondered what type of girl would like Leo anyway, especially when he made jokes like that. "But seriously, are you okay?" Aubrey was still a bit worried that he had hit his head too hard.

"What? It's just a simple observation." He shrugged playing the innocent game. "And yeah, I'm fine. Just had the wind knocked out of me." It was only then that he realized he was still holding her down with him. He quickly let go of her arm and hip, and started to get up, though still holding out a hand for her to use as she got up. "Though I really think we should invest in shelves mad out of something a little softer than wood." He said rubbing the back of his head, he could already feel the bump forming, and something else. He pulled his hand back to his face and was surprised to see his fingers were covered in blood. "Guess I hit my head a little harder than I thought. Huh?"

Aubrey rolled her eyes, "Don't worry me so much!" she said bitterly as he finally let her go. This relieved her, as now she was able to stand up, she half listened to him as she dusted her dress off, and began to fix her hair after it had gone hay wire. When she finally looked up she noticed that Leo had blood on his hand. "Leo!" she said now completely concerned.
"Oh my gosh!" she turned him around instantly to see the wound, it wasn't horrible, but it was worse than just a bump on the head, "Come here," she said hastily grabbing his hand and pulling him through the back room, "We're going to the house." she didn't waste a second rushing them into her own kitchen.
After a minute she had a first aid kit, and a wet cloth, "This might sting a little..." she said sitting him down, her hand reached behind his head lightly as she dabbed away the blood, her eyes were fixed on him, full of concern.

In only seconds it seemed, he was wisked away into her kitchen.
"I'm pretty sure I'll be okay." He protested, but never the less she sat him down to take care of his head. He waited patiently as she got out a small cloth to clean him with. "Ouch" he exclaimed as he leaned his head away from her hand. "Might hurt my ass."

Aubrey rolled her eyes, he sure was stubborn, "Oh stop being a big baby, I'm only trying to help." She moved the cloth back again, the two of them were equally stubborn when it came to anything. Aubrey looked to him again, "Maybe next time you should have just let me fall..." she felt guilty that he had been hurt in such a way, even though he could get on her nerves.
((no problem!))
