Elizabeth sighed and walked back and forth in front of the restaurant waiting for Nick. She was rather nervouse and didn't know how to tell him... how the heck do you tell your ex something like this!!! Especially when they already have a new girl friend... that has kids. She sighed again and looked at her cell checking the time worriedly.

Nick ran up to where he saw Elizabeth pacing "hey, sorry about being late, I had... a eventful morning to say the least" he apologized before gesturing towards the door "why don't we go in" he suggested, holding the door for her. He hoped they could at least stay friends... he liked when she was around, that's why he's been around her for so many years.

Elizabeth smiled some trying not to let it show that that bothered her... witch she knew it wouldn't show. "Thanks" she said softly as she walked in. "Ow it's fine... I've only been here for like... five minutes maybe..." she said softly as they were being led to a table and seated.

Nick thanked the waiter and opened up his menu "wow... this brings back memories... anyway... why don't we get right down to it. We'll tell each other what's on our minds, without holding back... and we'll work through it... alright? Would you like to go first?" he asked as he scanned the menu, glancing up at her for a moment.

Elizabeth thought for a moment then thought over how she would say it and sighed heavily. "Well... uh... um one thing that's kinda been eating at me is... that-... er.... your girlfriend..." she said and right before she was about to say something she changed her mind and said something else to cover up for what she was origonally going to say. She wanted to at least have him as a friend and for him not to hate her... and insulting Mesy she knew wouldn't be a good idea...

Nick nodded, he figured that'd be at the top of her list "what about her? I'm... I'm not giving her up... I want you to know that. But we're here to talk about our issues... that includes anything about former or current relationships, however painful they may be" he told her, looking at her gently.

((I say that Elizabeth's new boyfriend (the other guy) showed his true colors and now Elizabeth is single again. What I was thinking was that that guy just didn't fit the real Elizabeth. The Elizabeth that Nick was in love with. I just can't see her as the witch we've made her out to be. if she was, Nick wouldn't have stayed with her that long. I think she was just decieved by that guy... your opinion?))

"Tecticly... that is part of our issues... Nick... I think... I think I'm pregnant..." Elizabeth said softly not looking up now. She had wanted to tell him before... though Mesy was there. She hadn't actually thought that Nick would take Mesy over her... though she assumed it didn't matter now... he would help her... she just knew he would help her.

Nick was floored. "I... assume since you're telling me this now... that it's mine?" he asked quietly. He was a legitimate father? "When.. when did you find out?" he asked. What was he going to do? Mesy, Mesy, Mesy, Mesy, he chanted in his mind. he didn't want to get too caught up in Elizabeth. He'd made a deal with death... but what if the deal wasn't there? Would he propose to Elizabeth for the baby? What... What would he do? it didn't really matter. After all, the deal was there and he was bound to Mesy. If he didn't take care of her, they'd both die. But regardless... there's still the baby.

(He he he like she's gona tell him she had been cheating on him that long XD )

Elizabeth nodded quietly though in her mind she was thinking over how long she might have been pregnant... what if it was John's?... she couldn't and wouldn't go to him with this though... "I've known for... about three weeks now... the doctor had said I had been pregnant for a month... I.... I had planned on telling you sooner... in fact the other day... I had planned to tell you... but... I rushed out..." she murmured still not looking up, still unsure.

((yeah, but at this point she thinks the baby belongs to nick, by the time she finds out, they will have bridged the gap and who knows what will be going on in their life.))

Nick sighed heavily and ran a hand through his hair. "Probably better that way, I had something things I had to take care of then. Now... now it's easier for me to focus on you and... and the baby" he replied and noticed the waiter come and ask what they wanted to drink. he was tempted to order some wine or something, but he remembered his promise to Mesy and just ordered water. Once the waiter was gone to get their drinks, Nick turned his attention back to Elizabeth. "Liz... I... I still stand by what I said. I'm not getting rid of Mesy. What I have with her is... unique. But... you know... I'll... I'll take care of you if you need it. How... How are things with you and that guy... from earlier?" he asked, reaching over to give her hand a comforting squeeze. He cared about the girl. She was his best friend first and foremost. Regardless of anything else that happened in his life, she was his best friend. Has been since high school. Sure, they fought and all that... but they were always friends. If only that guy hadn't been in the picture... they might be married by now... or soon they would be. Then instead of being sad and worried about the future, they could be celebrating their family. Stop it! Mesy, Mesy, Mesy, Mesy, Mesy, he scolded himself. He was thinking too much on Elizabeth and his life that could have been. It was okay and necessary to think of his life that was, it was no alright to think of his life that could've been.

Elizabeth felt her heart sink some when he saidthat no matter what he wasn't giving up Mesy for her... She asumed she had to be okay with that. "He was a jerk... He's gone..." she muttered some in responce to his question.

Nick sighed and looked down and his thumb gently ran over her hand. "I... I always wondered where my best friend went after you met him... she seems to be back, though" he said softly as he scooted his chair around so that he was next to her. He wrapped his arm around her and gave her a comforting squeeze "Don't worry about it, alright? I'll help you get through this. You and Mesy could probably be good friends, if you wanted. It's just... it might be easier on the both of us if you two didn't start world war 3 when you saw each other. I'm... sorry to do this... but... you know... We broke up too much anyway. It's probably better this way" he said, giving her a small hug. Here, next to him, was his best friend. None of the post-John Elizabeth. He was really glad that he was out of the picture.

Elizabeth couldn't help but laugh at the WWIII coment. "Yeah... I supose you're right... hey? Why didn't you get anything to drink?... That's not like you ya know." she said though smiled some and felt comfurted by his hug. She knew he wouldn't take her back... though she liked the closeness right now, it felt right to her and she was sorry that she had done what she had.

Nick smiled "I promised Mesy I wouldn't. We... met under... very interesting circumstances. I was plastered and you know how wonderful a man I am when I'm in that state. But I've got to admit, I almost ordered something to handle the news. But... I'm actually more afraid of what she'd do if I came home like that. She'd probably flip out... not something I want to see again" he said with a chuckle. "Why... why did you leave me for him? Wasn't... what was wrong with me?" he asked. It was his turn to talk about his problems.

"Well... I... I don't know... I guess I was just tierdof you being drung allot... I slipt and I'm not sure why. We just met, got to talking, and then somehow he turned me..." Elizabeth murmured softly then thought for a moment. "Just wondering... How did you two meet? I mean you said you met under odd sercomstances... And you were plastered... So..." she asked quietly squeezing his hand lightly without thinking.

(you know he'll have to tell her at some point XD or she'll make the conection herself between the spirit child and Mesy now X3 )

Nick sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Well... I was drinking away my troubles, as usual... this one happen to be centered around the fact that my girlfriend had recently left me for another man. Needless to say... I wasn't in the best of moods before I got drunk. I... I was on my home when I met her... and... I swear. She looked exactly like you. Have... Have you noticed the bandages on her? you can probably figure out what happened next, can't you. It's actually... the precursor to why I couldn't leave her if I wanted to--which I don't" he answered. It hurt to talk about it... what happened that night. "After it happened... I kinda of sobered up, in a sense... She's been staying with me since that night. We had an interesting start... but... she couldn't leave. So under the circumstances... we just... grew closer. She... she helped me a lot. when it was hardest... I... she was there for me. I... I don't deserve her, I really don't. When officially got together... I hadn't done anything except hurt her. I still don't understand how she could've forgiven me... but she did. So I did my best to make up for what I did. Actually... the real reason I quit drinking... was because that night made me realize what I could become, under the influence of Alcohol. I didn't like it. So... I agreed for her to dump all of it down the drain. And you know how much money that cost me. Anyway... that's my story. My... horror story of how I met her... all because of alcohol" he said quietly. He didn't want anyone else but Elizabeth to hear him. It was too personal and dangerous a story for anyone else to hear. He was even risking it by telling Elizabeth... but he trusted her.

"You don't mean..... She was the little girl then wasn't she?... What do you mean you couldn't leave her if you wanted to... I hope you know I'm not trying to pry it out of you or anything like that... And you don't have to worry about me saying anything... I won't I swear... I'm just curious is all..." Elizabeth murmured quietly seeing that the matter bothered Nick... But she just had to know... It kinda was eating at her a bit.

Nick sighed and was silent for a few moments as he thought about how to say it. "Yes... she was the little girl. I... I killed her. After awhile... Death came to get her. And... We struck a deal. He'd give her a second chance at life, as long as I took care of her to make up for what I did. Even now, I have to watch what I'm even thinking around you... remember how the other day, her eyes went gray? Well... I was thinking about you. Thinking too much. And she went blind for a moment. We figured that part of the deal is we stay together. If I don't hold up my end of the bargain, we both die. Because... he took some of my life energy to give her life again. So like I said... Even if I wanted to leave her... I couldn't. There'd be no point... we'd both die" he answered softly. I... I almost wasn't certain that this meeting was a good idea. The only reason I stuck with it... was because I knew that I could never let go of you fully until we sorted out our issues. Now I know... I'm really pleased with how this has been going. Where have you been staying, by the way? Your mom lives out of town, if I remember correctly. She must have just been visiting... are you doing alright?" he asked, worried about her. He should, though. Not only is she his best friend, she's also the mother of his unborn child.

Elizabeth listened and was stunned at what she was hearing. "Well... Originally... I waswitg John... Then... I stayed at Sussan's" she said softly as she thought over what she had heard so far... It was allot... A whole lot to take in, especially since she was only human unlike Nick and Mesy.

Nick nodded "good. If you need a place for some reason, head on over... I'll explain things to Mesy, alright? I promise, I'll take care of you" he told her, looking into her eyes. He... had no desire to kiss her, as he would've wanted to a day or so ago. He just... wanted her to be his best friend. "I really do think that you and Mesy can get along once you understand each other... you're not really all that different when you think about it" he pointed out. "I know you don't like that I'm with her... but you know why I am. If things had been different... you know where I'd be. I'd be by your side, planning our wedding. You know that. But things happened the way they did. No matter what... I'll be here for you. Don't forget it" he said softly, running a hand through her hair. He saw nothing wrong with acting like this around her. They used to do it all the time, back in high school.

"Okay... really? How are we alike?..." Elizabeth asked looking up at Nick and shivered some feeling him running his fingers threw her hair. She liked it when he did that... though she wished that they could and would kiss... though it wasn't right and she knew it... though she hated to she had to respect his choices... and who he chose.

Nick thought for a few moments" well... you look similar, at least a little bit. You both have a common relationship with the same person. If all else fails, you can complain about me and such" he replied with a chuckle. He put his fork down to get more of his pasta, but found that it was gone. Sometime during their meeting, their food had come. He mourned the loss briefly. "you both have kind hearts... hearts that can get fed up with me, mind you. You're both people that I can trust completely, no matter what. You know me well enough to know that that's a rare thing. Yeah, you two are similar, but you're both very different" he finished.

"Huh.... I didn't think of us looking similare to eachother..." Elizabeth said softly after she had also finished her food. "Ya know... I don't really know much else to say..." She couldn't help but laugh some as she took a drink of her drink and smiled slightly at Nick content with how the conversation had went.

Nick smiled and nodded "neither can I... Everything that I wanted answered, was answered... I'm glad to know that I haven't lost my best friend" he said softly. "I really do think, though, that you and Mesy could be friends. It might be easier, actually... because I'm not going to let you drop off the face of the planet. I'll take care of you, don't forget that" he said softly and waved the waiter for the bill. "I think we're done here. I'd love to spend some more time with you, but I promised the twins I'd take them to the park. We planned it as a family outing. You're welcome to come along, if you'd like... I need to talk to Mesy about all of this anyway... you can come along if you'd like... you don't have to if you don't want to, though" he invited.

Elizabeth blinked some when she was invited to come with Nick and his... family to the park. "If... It's okay I'd love to... I have nothing else better to do after all." she smiled easily. She hoped Mesy really wouldn't mind... and she actually did hope that her and Mesy could become friends... though Nick was the only one that knew how Mesy acted... she just hoped he was right that they could be friends.
