Nick smiled, placed a kiss on top of each of their heads, and followed Mesy out to the kitchen. He sat on one of the bar stools and watched her, waiting for an order that would tell him to get up. "How did you enjoy today?" he asked, wondering what she thought of Elizabeth.

"I think it was a good day... all except for a few minutes this morning... but that was only to be expected... she's a lot nicer then I origonally thought her as... hopefully and can help her not make the same stupid choices I did." Mesy said softly as she was going around the kitchen getting everything set up and started fixing food. She had several things going at once, kept it all maintained, and could still talk as she moved around from one thing to the other. She had the chili, spagety, garlic bread, and normal bread that she made herself all going at the same time... and nothing was getting burnt. "How do you like your chili? You do like it spicy right? That's how I make my chili." she said over her shoulder as she was needing the dow

Nick shrugged "spicy, mild, whatever's fine. I normally put a spoonful of sour cream into my chili, so the spice basically leaves at that point. But yeah, she's great... when she's not being manipulated, that is. What happened this morning? i tried keeping my thoughts centered on the right path. There was once, maybe twice, that I can recall, where I started to think about what could have happened, if things had worked out differently, but those thoughts didn't stay long. By the way, do you need any help? Or would you rather I stay here, out of your way?" he asked.

Mesy nodded as she listened and continued to go around preparing the food. "You're weird!!!" She said to his comment about the sour cream. "You out that stuff in this I will kick your but!" she said stirring the chili. "And thank you but no I do not need any help." she smiled continuing to work.

Nick chuckled at Mesy's response "I dare you! It's the only way I eat chili, I will put it in no matter what you say. Throw me out on the porch for the night like I'm a dog as punishment, for all I care. It's going in" he chuckled. He meant it, though. He liked the creamyness that only came after adding the sour cream.

Mesy smirked and walked over to Nick when she was down with the breads, put them in the oven, and washed her hands. "I'll ground you from sex" she smirked patting his cheek playfully. "Now if you try it without sour cream in it first then I won't but if the first thing you do is put sour cream in it... you're grounded." she smirked lightly sounding like she was very serious about the whole 'grounded from sex' thing.

(Ew that's nasty XD why would you put sour cream in chilli? and ha ha lets see how far that one goes XD )

Nick held her gaze "how long will I be grounded for? Because I can tell the taste just perfectly with the sour cream in it. There's a certain creamy taste, though, that only comes from the sour cream. it's that taste that I love. I can eat all types and kinds of chili, but they will never be my favorite, unless it has the sour cream creamyness to it. in my opinion, it makes the best chili, ten times better" he explained. He was unwavering about the sour cream thing. He used to eat it without the sour cream, but then he tried it and loved it. Never went back. And he was eating his mom's homemade chili, which was--in his mind--the best chili ever.

Mesy grinned some. "How long can you go for? I can go as long as I like... all you have to do is try one little taste of it without sour cream... I'll even let you cheat and taste it before I put it in a bowl." she smirked not holding back on this... she could go however long she wanted... Nick had been the only one she willingly had sex with so it's not like she was missing anything... she hadn't had it since she was raped other then Nick so she could wait as long as she needed to.

Nick shrugged "fine, then. I like my sour cream. I never used to use it when i ate my mother's chili, I mean, what could possibly make it better. I tried sour cream, loved it. Besides, my mom used to make chili out of jabenlleros,** it hurt so bad. When I put the sour cream in it, I could actually sleep that night without getting heartburn, and other unpleasentries that my partner in bed might complain about" he answered. He was determined, he knew he got heartburn with spicy things. That's why he used sour cream.

"It's not that bad! I don't make it that spicy I have kids that I feed with this stuff." she grinned and kissed Nick lightly on the lips before going back over to the stove and checking the foos. "Could you go wake the girls up and tell them to get ready for dinner? It's almost done and you're trying it got it?" she smirked as she tasted the chili then got out the bread and finished the spagety after she had tried it to make sure it was cooked right.

Nick stood up "I get heartburn with jalepenos, love" he commented and went off to go do as he was told, not arguing the issue. He was mainly standing firm, just to play with her. If she really placed the spoon in his mouth, he'd eat it--die later if it's spicy like she says it is--but then he'd put the sour cream in. If it was his choice, he wouldn't take a bite before the sour cream. "I can't believe we're arguing about chili toppings. It's so stupid" he muttered to himself before entering the girl's room. He flipped the light on and gently shook them awake "Hena, Heiwa, wake up. It's almost time for dinner" he said gently.

Hena and Heiwa both whined some though sat up and started rubbing their eyes. When they were more awake they looked at Nick and smiled praticly tackling him in a hug. "Hi!" they giggle almost hyporly.

"Ack!" Nick cried out, surprised by the attack, but caught them both. He smiled and laughed "hello you two, come on, let's get you cleaned up for dinner. We're having Chili, spaghetti, garlic, and normal bread. It all smells great, so let's go!" he explained, taking them towards the bathroom so they can wash the playground off of their faces.

The girls giggled some though washed their hands and faces then then rushed to the kitchen where Mesy was setting the table though didn't have Nick's bowl down yet. "I'll let you do whatever you please with me bury gotta taste the chili first." she smirked lightly as she got the girls settled in to eat and was pooring some tea for herself.

Nick shrugged and grabbed the sour cream from the fridge "I already told you, I can taste every single bit of the chili with the sour cream. The cream just tones it don't so I don't suffer later. My biological father had massive heartburn, I inherited it. Us elves aren't built to tolerate spicy foods" he explained as he sat at the table.

"Ah come on one little taste without it? It's actually not that spicy I swear." Mesy said softly having a little bit of the chili on a spoon and holding it out to him with just a little bit of a pouty face on.

Nick eyed the spoon, and Mesy's face. his resolve was ccracking. he wanted to make her happy, but he also knew how sensitive he was to spicy foods. Finally, he sighed "what did you put in it? I'll be the judge on whether or not it's too spicy. If it's alright, then I'll try it. But if it's spicy enough to cause trouble, will you let me eat it with the sour cream?" he asked. It was a compromise. He'd taste it if he could handle it. But if it was too spicy, and he'd be fair, then he'd try it without the sour cream. He wasn't going to sacrifice his health and comfort for the rest of the night, just to please his girlfriend. At some point, you had to draw the line. He'd defy death for her, but he planned on sleeping through the night.

Mesy smiled some and ran down the good sized list of what was in it before thinking some. "Yeah, love I'm a bunny demon who gets acid reflux real easy I'm not going to put anything in it really that might make it too over powering." she smiledslightly hoping that he would try it now.

Nick raised an eyebrow "a bunny demon that gets acid reflux easily? yet you still make spicy chili? that sounds like a contradiction" he commented, nevertheless, he tasted it. he paused for a moment "it's... just not the same without the sour cream. Chili is no chili unless it has the sour cream, in my mind. you're not going to change my mind, don't bother" he commented and scooped it into his bowl, mixing it up. He appeased her, now maybe the whole issue will drop, he was too tired.

Mesy stuck her tongue out at him grinning some "Whatever and yes I do get assid reflux... it's mild chili it's not that spicy... though sometimes I push my my luck and do make it rather spicy." she grinned and sat down starting to eat. "You two go and get ready to take a bath okay? When I'm done I'll come and get you... no running around noody budy either! Nick is here and that's not something that you should do got it?" she instructed and the girls snickered some though went off to their room. "Hey can I not try and get you to try stuff? You're just loving that I'm submissive and laid back aren't you?" she grinned some not really minding as she continued to eat her chili.

Nick shrugged "I'll try things. But when you said spicy, I thought spicy. Besides, I like my sour cream. You can be as aggressive as you want, I can still choose whether or not I want to try something. Most the time, I will. Chili is one of those things. I'm sorry if I made you upset in any way" he commented before taking a bite out of the garlic bread. "It's really good, by the way. All of it is" he told her with a smile.

Mesy snickered some "You've never seen me get mad and start arguing... not that I'd want to argue with you... I normally hate arguing." she smiled some and was soon done with her chili and eating her garlic bread also. "Thanks... I love cooking and chili is one of my favorite meals to make... I need to go get those two in the bath then in bed... they'll start whining if they stay up... they are very hard to get to sleep then." she commented then got up and went off to take care of her girls.

Nick leaned over, planted a kiss on Mesy's lips, and smiled "alright. Go take care of our little angels, I'll clean up" he offered. He finished his dinner then stood up and began to clear the table off, loading the dishes into the dishwasher and starting it.

Mesy took the girls to take a bath and came out about 30 minutes later water logged and with two little fully dressed little girls in PJs fallowing behind her. The girls were giggling and walked over to Nick giving him a hug then went with Mesy and got into bed. Mesy walked back out a few minutes later and laughed some. "Now I'm gonna have to take a shower since they got me soked... and I don't think you want to sleep with someone that has sope suds on them and is soking went." she laughed some then went to take a shower.

Nick laughed as he watched her leave to take a shower before settling into a bed, a book in hand. It'd been a long day, he was grateful for the day off. Tomorrow, he had to turn in his report, though. He was no looking forward to that. Basically anytime he had to talk to his father, he got annoyed by it. Nick had to credit his father for the job, though. The one thing his father ever did for him was give him a job after he graduated. Sometimes he didn't know if he did that because Nick was his son, or because of his skill. Nevertheless, he had to thank him for it. He just... he just wished that his father had been around more often when he was younger. Maybe then, his sister wouldn't have died from cleaning alcohol. Maybe he would've properly learned about all the things he did as a kid, and he wouldn't have done them. maybe he wouldn't have been a delinquent. Maybe... maybe if... no use thinking about that. Nick sighed and rested his head against the headboard, waiting for Mesy. He was trying his hardest to block the memories of his past, the more painful ones, that is.
