Cameron climbed up into his mother's lap--who had sat next to Mesy, while Aiden sat in Nick's lap. "What's this? Expelling your own father?" Brad asked. "I never see Uncle Nick! I like him! Plus Hena and Heiwa are awesome!" Aiden explained, causing the table to chuckle. Nick's dad came into the dining room with a little baby in his arms. He placed the tyke in the high-chair that sat in-between Jane and Brad. Nick observed her, he'd never met her. "I don't believe I know this little one, what did you say her name was again?" Nick asked Jane. "This is Katherine" Jane answered as Nick's mother brought the last of the food out. "She's adorable. Glad to finally have a girl in a house full of boys?" Nick asked. "Absolutely, I can't wait until she's older" jane answered "enjoy them while they're young. All too soon they're heading off to college and you'll never see them again. That's why occasions like these are called special occasions" Nick's mother commented. Nick smiled and kissed Mesy's cheek.

Mesy was now calm and rather happy. She had her dobters, her feancee, and she was going to be able to eat a really thanksgiving meal. She felt just a bit better after talking to Brad... though she didn't exactly know why. Maybe she could forgive him... after all it was the right thing to do right?

Nick's father noticed Mesy and smiled at her "You must be Mesy, a pleasure to meet you" he greeted. Nick made the introductions "that's my dad" he introduced. She seemed to have relaxed somewhat, he was glad for that. "Alright, everybody, dig in" his mother announced once everything was out. Jane reached forward and began preparing Cameron's food while Nick helped Mesy with Aiden, Hena and Heiwa. It wasn't until the kids had food that they got food for themselves.

Mesy smiled and nodded then tried to help fix her dobters a plat... though it was rather hard with both of them sitting in her lap. "Nick... uh could you please get my plate? It's a bit difficalt to do with these two in my lap..." Mesy asked when all of the kids had their food and the others were starting to fix their own plates.

Nick nodded and began fixing Mesy a plate. Even though he still had a child on his lap, it was much easier to maneuver around one child then two. Once he'd delivered Mesy's plate, he fixed a plate for himself and began to eat. "Nick, dear, you have no idea how happy your father and I are that you finally settled down! Not to mention the fact that you shared her with us, thank you for being here" his mother gushed. Nick just smiled softly. Although that day had been hectic and stressful, especially when the past of Brad and Mesy was revealed, he was still glad he'd come. Before, he felt like an outcast in his own home. Now, he felt accepted and wanted. It made the memories that would haunt him that night worth it. Besides, he'd have Mesy to help him, just as he'd helped Mesy.

"Thank ya love." Mesy smiled as she took the plate and was somehow able to eat like this. She then looked up to her mother-in-law and smiled a bit. "This food is wonderful." she smiled some to Nick's mom happily. truthfully this had to be better then anything she had had in years... if not ever.

Nick's mother smiled widely "thank you! I'm so glad that you came with Nick, I was looking forward to meeting you and the kids. I'm so glad that you're going to be a part of this family" she gushed. Nick smiled at the exchange. "Uncle Nick, can Cameron and I play with Hena and Heiwa again soon?" Aiden asked. Nick smiled "well, your mom and dad have the final say, but I'm all for it. Cameron finished eating his macaroni and cheese--provided specifically for the children--and looked up at his mother "can we, mama?" he asked. If Nick didn't know any better, he'd say that Cameron had a little crush on Heiwa. "Of course you can, dear. Finish your milk sweetie" she instructed. "I don't like milk" he complained. "Drink your milk, boy. Milk's good for you, it'll make you grow up strong, like your dad and Uncle Nick. Even your old grandpa drank his milk" Nick's dad ordered. Cameron looked between all the adults in the family, sizing them up, and then he finished all his milk, leaving a white milk mustache behind.

The twine giggled some at their friend though cintenued to eat. When the girls were done Mesy sat them down softly and smiled at them. They smiled back happily and waited for the boys before going to the game room. Mesy was just ow too happy to see tge girls with other kids... She had been praying for so long that they would soon have friends... She just didn't expect they would come out of a marage.

Aiden and Cameron hopped off of the laps of the adults as soon as they were done, and followed Hena and Heiwa. Cameron--just as expected--grabbed hold of Heiwa's hand as soon as he caught up to her. Nick chuckled as they disappeared from sight and went back to his own meal "now, if I didn't know better... I'd say Cameron has a little crush on Heiwa... wouldn't you say?" he commented bringing a chuckle from the table. "No, he just sees how wonderful they are" his dad put in. "Regardless of whether he does or not, I'm glad that he's acting like that. he's always been terribly shy" Brad commented.

Mesy smiled and laughed some... though for a split second had that bad feeling that made her cringe inwardly... though Nick would probably be the only one to tell. She didn't know why she had it... though she did know the shadow of death often loomed around her and Nick... though never came close and never ever went near the kids... she kinda worried that Nick could feel the tiny little bit of tention... though she knew he couldn't sense death like she could... he's not the one that died.

Nick's smile almost faltered when he noticed Mesy's mood drop. He felt a certain... dark aura and knew what was around. It ticked him off. Why can't death just leave them alone for once? Once dinner was over, everybody helped clean up and then Nick took Mesy up into his room, closing the door. "Mes, you ok?" he asked, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"I... I'm fine... I don't think he'll come close... I think he's just looming around right now..." Mesy said softly then put her arms around Nick and leaned her head on his chest smiling up at him some.

Nick smiled and placed a tender kiss on Mesy's lips "good. We don't need him showing up. We don't need him looming, either, but we really don't need him showing up" he told her as he sat them down on his bed. He held her in his arms as he looked around the room, reliving the different memories.

"Yeah..." Mesy smiled some as she curled in Nick's lap some and cuddled close to him. She liked these moments... the comfurting silence... just being able to hear their heart beats try and match... witch now they actually could... she loved it to no extent.

Nick halted his memories in their place and looked down at Mesy, nuzzling his face into her head. It was dangerous to be here... too many memories... most of them bad. He took a deep breath and kissed her head, trying desperately to pull himself back to reality. He laid them both down and snuggled close to her, holding her hand firmly. Here, in his room, the memories of his past threatened to spill out... memories that he's tried desperately to suppress since he met Elizabeth.

"Love... are you okay?" Mesy asked softly curling into Nick like she normally did just to be that much closer. She was becoming worried about him now... instead of him being worried about her.

Nick took a deep breath and closed his eyes "not really... this was why I was scared to come back here... not because of my family... but because of the memories that come with this place... everywhere I go, I'm hounded by memories that I've been trying to suppress for the past ten or so years" he explained softly.

"ow..." Mesy sighed softly then kissed Nick on the lips some. "Is there any way I can help?" she asked softly leaning her head on his chest some still loving to hear his heartbeat softly though strong in his chest.

Nick smiled and pulled Mesy close "just be here... there isn't any more that can be done. I either relive them... or I suppress them some more. I'm still not sure which is healthier for me" he said softly as he stared up at the ceiling.

"Holding it in is worse then letting it out... it's unhealthy... beleive me... I know." Mesy said softly as she started traising NIck's chest as she often did... she liked doing this, she knew sometimes it calmed Nick down and she was aiming for that... though she wasn't sure if it would work right now or not.

Nick smiled when he felt Mesy's fingers trace his chest. "I like it when you do that" he whispered into her hair. He closed his eyes... and allowed the memories to come. Every single one of them. he made sure to always be as close to Mesy as possible... it was the only thing keeping him sane as he relived the heck that were his younger years. It all started when his sister accidentally killed himself... it didn't stop until he was fifteen. It's a miracle he made it that far. A miracle that he always managed to stay out of jail, and when he did go, he never stayed long.

Mesy grinned some and continued to trace Nick's chest though slowly the movements got slower and soon stopped so her hand was just laying lightly on his chest. Laying here like this, with Nick, after a stressful evening... she was tired enough and to top it... it was really hard for her to stay awake while they were laying like this... very very difficult indead. She was now curled to his side and her breaths were softly coming and going calmly... she was now rather comfurtable. She had moved her head a bit and it was leaning a bit more on his chest.... she liked it there... his heartbeat soothed her.

Nick smiled softly as he felt the signs that Mesy had fallen asleep. He was growing drowsy as well, and the memories just tired him out even more. It wasn't long before he'd fallen asleep, his memories turning into nightmares. However, with Mesy there, his nightmares lessened. He saw everything in vivid detail like the day it happened, but he was more relaxed.

Nick's mother went up the stairs to check on Nick and Mesy, opened the door and saw them both asleep. She smiled softly and left, closing the door softly. He seemed a bit off throughout the day, she was glad they were able to sleep it off.

Mesy curled to Nick a bit more and felt someones eyes on them... though she didn't wake up... for some reason she was just a bit too tired to right now.

(he he he maybe Brad comes looking for them or something? Maybe something about the girls or someone needed them... or he or someone else needed to tell them something?)

((hmm... maybe the kids sensed death's aura or something, and they got scared?))
