Nick groaned in his sleep and pried his eyes open. He noticed Mesy's upset form and he pulled her close, too drunk/tired to realize anyone was in the room. "Shhh... It's ok... I'm here, babe" he mumbled in her ear.

"Ow but you haven't been resently have you?" Death said in his cold snake like voice as he showed himself more. Mesy shivered a bit whimpering a bit more though calming some as Nick pulled her closer calming her some.

Nick's anger flared and he glared at death. "Yeah, but I'm here now! I was going through some tough times and I didn't want to burden her. Obviously, that was a stupid idea. I fixed it so get out of here!" he demanded, pulling Mesy close.

"Huh huh huh well I just thought I may give you a warning... you keep this up... your soon to be child may have some issues... and from what I can see your wife may not survive it if she goes through any more stess. You slipped, yes, though do you see the full extent of your choice to distance yourself? I warn you much more stress and when she has your child her heart might just give out... and in turn yours as well... now I'm sure you don't want to have three children without their mother or father do you?" the cruel man smirked noting Mesy's stomach and the wring on both of their hands... and also noting how angry Nick was getting and that he seemed a bit drunk.

Nick fell silent and he stared at death in horror. "No... no... anything but that. I promise to do better. I had a wake up call earlier, I'll do better. Just don't take them away from me" he pleaded, his arms tightening around Mesy even tighter. His hand rested on her stomach, as though he was protecting the baby.

Death smirked some amused at this mans pleas and thought. "Fine... I'll give you two last chances... don't screw it up... in fact it may only be one... I don't control the stress on her body and mind... I just come to colect lives... so I'd whach it if I were you seeing as how you seem to risk everything for your little lover girl and your kids." he smirked staring amusedly at the two seeming please with this.

Nick nodded "of course! No more! No more... I'll take care of them... just don't take them away from me" he pleaded. He was scared to death... scared of death. He couldn't lose them... he couldn't abandon his kids by dying... certainly not a newborn. The baby wouldn't survive without its mother.

"Fine... once you prove that you have no more issues then you won't have to worry about me so much... though you only have one more warning... I'd be extremely careful if I where you."Death warned one more time before vanishing. In her sleep she had heard most of what was said... and now she was trembling horrobly.

Nick pulled Mesy into a hug and simply held her close, rocking her back and forth, and whispering comforting words to her. "I'm here... no one will hurt you. I promise. It'll be alright. Everything's going to be fine" he whispered.

"Nick" Mesy whimpered some as she started waking up some and clenching her husbands shirt. "He... he was here wasn't he? That was really him speaking?... Not my dream..." she whimpered tears falling from her eyes some though she did have to pull away from Nick when it became uncomfurtable for her stomach to be pressed against him so closely.

Nick gently nodded, a sober expression on his face "yeah... he didn't like how I've been gone for so long... and he just told me what was going to happen naturally if I do it again" he answered softly as he continued to rock his wife. "Everything will be alright... I'm here... I'm not leaving. I promise" he finished softly, placing a gentle kiss on her lips.

Mesy blinked and her face got a bit pale as she thought of what might happen naturally... she had heard some of that part of the conversation... thoguh she thought it to be just her dream... hoping it wasn't real... though it was and it scared her deeply. "I think that's what your brother saw and was trying to prevent... He knew last time I almost died in childbirth... though everything turned out fine then..." she whispered quietly thinking about that day... she had had a few times where she had actually almost come face to face with death... though something always kept her from that.

Nick cradled Mesy in his arms and held her close. "Don't worry about it... I'm not leaving. Whatever Brad's reason, he helped me out. He showed me what I was doing to you, and he cured me of my addiction. It's going to be ok. No one is going to die. Not you, not me, not the baby, not the twins. No one" he told her before kissing away her tears and kissing her lips. "Relax, alright? I won't let anything hurt you" he promised.

Mesy listened quietly and nodded some. "Okay... what... what if he comes back?" she whispered noting what death had said... she did worry about that... what if he came to bother them again? Could she handle the stress of it? She was soon destracted, though, by a light kick in her stomach and smiled some taking Nick's hand and putting it over the spot that she felt the movement.

Nick smiled "See? Our baby wants your to relax. It wants it's mother. Healthy" he commented and kissed Mesy's lips. "He's only going to come back if I screw up again. I'm not. So don't worry, just relax. Don't stress out over it, alright?" he asked. He noted vaguely, in the back of his mind, that Elizabeth should be having her baby soon.

Mesy grinned some "Sure... okay that could be the case though I think they're just responding to both of our voices." she pointed out then yawned some. "I guess maybe we should get back to sleep?" she smiled some tiredly.

Nick nodded and Kissed Mesy's lips as he laid her back down "of course we should. Sleep is always important. Go to sleep, love. I'll see you in the morning" he whispered as he snuggled into her side.

Mesy smiled a bit and kissed Nick back before laying down fully and soon found herself falline asleep. She smiled some in her sleep now as a good dream took over her slightly worried mind.

(hm... do you think next day... maybe in the morning before Mesy wakes up and Nick gets a call from Elizabeth saying she's due like in the next few days? That would make this quite interesting don't you think XD )

The next morning, Nick woke up before Mesy. He was content to lay there and watch her sleep, and he did for about 30 minutes, but the phone started to ring. Not wanting it to bother her, he answered the phone and left the room. "Hello?"
"Hey, Nick, it's Elizabeth"
"Oh, hey. How're you doing?" he asked as he went to the kitchen to start making breakfast.
"about as good as you can get when you're 9 months pregnant and due any day"
"Oh, wow. Do you want me there?"
"You have your wife to take care of"
"Yeah, but I'm sure she'd understand, I mean, you're her friend too"
"Well... if she's ok with it, then I would love to have you there..."
"You scared?"
"A little... I'm worried about the complications"
"Hey, don't worry about it. It'll be just fine. How's the baby doing"
"Training to be a soccer player" Elizabeth replied. This brought a smile to Nick's lips and he flipped the pancakes that he was making for everyone. He put chocolate chips into the new batch and let them cook. "Sounds wonderful, what are you having?"
"A boy"
"Sounds fun" he said and looked in the direction of the bedrooms "hey, I got to go and finish preparing breakfast. You call me when it's time, alright? Stay near people so they can get you to the hospital, or something. Take care, alright?"
"Alright, talk to you later" she promised and hung up. Nick dished the pancakes up and went into his room. He paused at the door and just watched Mesy. After a few minutes, he left the bedroom, deciding to let her sleep. He headed over to the twin's room and went to collect them for breakfast, knowing they'd already be up by now.

( lol I'm guessing her kidnees would be the socker ball XD )

Mesy stirred a bit feeling a bit of a tug on an inner part of her mind though stayed asleep and ignored it. When the twins heard Nick coming they giggled a little plan to eachother and hid till Nick opened the door. Once he was in the room they cheered and both attacked him at the same time clinging to him as they did so.

"Gah!!" Nick called out as he stumbled back a few steps. He chuckled and picked them up, hugging them both tightly. He kissed their cheeks "good morning, sugarplums. I made pancakes, regular and chocolate chip. What say we go and gave some?" he asked them as he carried them to the dining room.

"OKAY!!! WE WANT CHOCOLATE CHIPS!!!" They bother smiled happily as the got out of Nick's grip and went to wash their hands before they came back in and sat at the table eagerly waiting for their food. "Where's Momma?" Hena asked as she looked at the chair Mesy normally sat at curiously.

Nick placed the plates in front of the girls "I decided to let her sleep in today. She's been really stressed lately, and I thought some sleep would do her good" he explained as he put the syrup on the table "what do you two want to drink?" he asked as he opened the fridge door.

"Milk." Hena smiled "Of course." Heiwa seemed to finishing her sisters sentance with a smile and they both giggled a bit. "If Momma's asleep then who were you talking to?" Hena asked cocking her head to the side a bit before she started eating.

Nick filled up two glasses of milk and handed them to the girls. "I was talking to a friend of mine on the phone. She's having a baby soon and wants me to be there" He answered and sat down next to the girls with his own food. "Did you two sleep well?" he asked.
