Maria was walking through the villiage market. It was night and things were closed at the moment so it was nice and quiet. She liked to wander around and help the homeless children of the villiage. They usually needed her help with many things. She noticed a little girl and grinned and gave her a crust of bread. She had a whole basket of food for them. The little girl wolfed it down and then skipped away happily. Maria looked around a moment. There seemed to be no children here now. She found a nice spot to sit down and did so looking up at the sky. Her face in a frown. There seemed to be an ominous tone taking place above her head and she was concerned.

(Lol but of course. It just couldn't be an angel/demon rp without him. XD *Jabs in the wing with a pointy stick* Hehehehehehehehe it begins. XD)

Night, a time that had always been perfect for the ominous shadow that silently stalked the intended 'prey'. Ryuu had been watching this specific angel for quite some time now and for the most part knew her usual nightly rounds, however it seemed as if things tonight would be a bit different. The children that usually littered the streets at this time were at present no where to be found. Perhaps the reasoning had something to do with the decision that tonight would be the night to strike...or perhaps not. If the latter proved correct though it of course would be a simple matter for the time demon to 'take care of' the little urchins.

His black gaze intently watched as there proved to be one of the previous mentioned urchins seemed to have slipped pass. 'No matter it's only one...' the demon thought to himself and watched as the young child wolfed down a crust of bread that was offered to her 'his opposite'. Using the shadows about him he followed the angel with only the occasional flap of wings being the only sound truly coming from him, though it could be dismissed as a nocturnal bird such as an owl.

He waited a few moments more as he watched the angel seat herself on the ground, since the usual children currently weren't around, before moving from his current roof perch and on the ground closer to the 'target'. For a fleeting moment he questioned why it was he had agreed to target the angel female, when a mental voice soon after answered that was clearly not his own. This of course caused the time demon to shake his head to move away such distracting thoughts away so as to focus on his task at hand. Calmly and quickly he decided which approach to take and began to swiftly carry it out. Still shielded within the shadows, and using his wings to wrap around himself as well to assist with making himself less visible yet, he soon moved himself closer and practically beside the now sitting angel.

"Well now what have we here? An angel out and about during the time of demons, and alone nevertheless?" the black eyed demon said in a calm though somewhat distant sounding voice.

Maria jumped hearing a voice close by her. She jumped onto her feet and created a light orb in her hands. She gasped when she saw the black as night eyes.

A demon. Now was the time to be catious.

"What do you want? I am here everynight thank you. I warn you if you do not leave me alone I will hurt you. I may only be an angel but I can fight a demon without to much difficulty."

(Lol Ryuu has black eyes. XD)

Ryuu blinked at the sudden light, after all even his pupils retracted to light like a humans. "Want? Why would I want anything?" the time demon asked calmly tilting his head slightly to the side. 'Hmmm cautious this one...' he thought to himself. Calmly the time demon crossed his arms over his chest as he watched the angel. An eyebrow rose as she mentioned fighting against a demon.

"Now now who's said anything about a fight? Quite honestly I've no interest in fighting an angel. It's not worth the time...On the other hand I'm not exactly one to take kindly to threats either, not that I really have too much to fear" he replied coolly, as the dragon mark on him began to glow along with a slightly dark purple glow about him before it expanded and shot out in all directions. The result was soon clear as what seemed to be all but the demon himself and the angel before him seemed to suddenly stand still as if suspended in time. It wasn't technically a threat, rather a telling exactly what sort of demon stood before her, one with control of time itself.

She gasped dropping her light orb as everything stopped. She was not used to demons randomly approaching her unless they wanted to fight her.

"What do you want then?"

She was very puzzled as to what this demon wanted with her. Demons where an angels mortal enemy there was no way that he was here just by chance. There had to be a purpose.

"Why are you here? You are a time demon. Whats the reason that you are here bothering me?"

(Lol eh it happens. I'm sure it doesn't help though that my other demon has black feather wings and does have red eyes. XD *Jabs Ryuu again with the pointy stick*)

Typically a demon would perhaps smirk at the sight of surprising an angel, then again Ryuu wasn't exactly a typical demon and therefore chose not to. He knew that the best approach, at least for him, with an angel was to remain unreadable and unpredictable. It was perhaps that simple fact that made the time demon a rather dangerous individual. Still in truth he honestly had no desire to fight the angel. Oh no that was not his orders, though it was implied to be forceful if it would accomplish his employer's goal.

"Again why would I want anything? I just happened to be passing through this period, noticed an angel by themselves at night nevertheless, and simply found it...rather unusual. After all I'm sure it's not an unknown fact that night is consider more of a time for demons then angels. Then again perhaps this time period has a different way of thinking" the time demon said with a simple yet small shrug of his shoulders.

She stared at him curiously. She did not trust him but she supposed it would be ok not to bother attacking him or keeping her guard up so high. She would notice if anything happens that changes the mood.

"I see. Well I do have to be going. It was nice to meet you Mr. I am sorry I did not get your name. I am Maria. I usually come here to feed the young homeless children. I am after all a guardian angel. I like to look after children. As an angel I can not have any of my own."

She stared at him wondering exactly why she was saying these things.

Ryuu was somewhat pleased, or as pleased as a time demon could get, to note the absence of an attack towards him. After all he too knew that technically angels and demons were not beings that were to be on good terms with each other. Then again he knew that he wasn't really one that followed certain traditions in some instances and that this one perhaps just happened to be one of them.

The time demon was a bit surprised at the sudden knowledge the angel began to disclose to him, but he did pay attention to it. "I am known as Ryuu, it's a pleasure to meet you Maria" he said with a rather small yet polite bow. He may have been a demon but he knew manners and nothing forbid him from showing politeness. He listened quietly as she disclosed she was a guardian angel and that she fed the homeless children, not that he didn't already know that somewhat already. Calmly his black gaze glanced around knowing he wouldn't see any of the mentioned homeless children, unless perhaps some escaped...Immediately though he pushed that thought from his mind. "By choice or...?" Ryuu asked letting the end of the sentence drop off.

She frowned at a moment.
"Well Angels do not tend to go for the physical pleasures like demons tend to do."
She was puzzled as she thought about it. She knew thats how children came to be. She wondered why exactly she was discussing this with the demon.
"Ryuu is an interesting name."

Ryuu thought for a moment on Maria's words of physical pleasure. "I will admit I do find that rather strange. After all if one were not to indulge in pleasures then I do wonder why they were placed there in the first place? Although through the years I've gone though I have come to see that not all children are actually created though bodily...pleasures...or rather at times such pleasures are merely one sided. Then again being as I am a demon I suppose it would make sense for it to seem strange to me" he said calmly with a shrug. There was indeed some truth to what he believed in his words, not that he really cared for very many pleasures himself.

He permitted a slight smile to cross his face as the angel commented that his name was interesting. One of his hands calmly rose and came to rest on the dragon mark that rested on one side of his face and neck. "The true reasoning behind it probably isn't as grand or as interesting as one would think though" he said with a quiet chuckle. He knew he was named merely for the mark that was placed on him at his birth, and although he didn't dislike it, he never had it occur to him on whether the name itself was interesting. "Maria has a rather pure sound to it and a relatively nice ring, befitting I think for an angel and far more interesting then my own name I believe" he said his tone quiet though calm as it lost the distance it first had.

She grinned some.
"Maria is a very pure name. It is a dulcate and sweet name. It is me through and through for it is another word for mary who is the mother of everything. I guess you find my name facinating because of the fact that you are not used to it. I on the other hand like yours because it is something new to me."

She was a very logical angel. She had always been that way.

"So tell me about yourself Ryuu."

Ryuu gently nodded his head in agreement. After all it did make sense and was true. He was quite sure he hadn't come across any demons possessing such a pure name, perhaps some fallen though they usually end up changing it for one reason or another, and that more then likely Ryuu wasn't exactly a typical angel name. Of course though his name wasn't exactly popular among demons either, but rather it seemed to be simply one of those names that was there but not commonly used.

"Perhaps for humanity and angels though I'm not entirely sure if that would hold true for demons. Probably the closest we would actually have towards a 'mother' would be Lillith as evil as she is..." he said with a surprisingly gentle chuckle. Of course he knew if he truly wished to know such things it would be as simple as summoning a time portal, but he didn't have too much interest in finding out the answer.

The time demon was a bit surprised when he was suddenly questioned to tell about himself. It was rather unusual for him for an angel to wish to know more about him rather then simply attack first and ask questions later. "There isn't really much to tell. Although rather rare a time demon is born like any other, with perhaps the exception being the clan I was born into. I was the only one of my kind since my clan stood outside of the realm of being ruled over by Satan, and thus what you were born as wasn't determined by genes but simply by a random stroke of fate. Aside from that I'm sure my tale is no different from any other. My powers permit me to see and witness things others usually cannot. The only twist of irony is that although masters of time, our time is rather short itself..." he replied gently as he seemed to drift off for a mere moment before seemingly coming back.

"Ah but I'm simply rambling now. What about yourself?" he asked gently as another voice seemed to enter his mind then be swiftly pushed back to the furthest reaches of it.

She smiled and sat back down wrapping her arms around her knees.

"Well I am Maria. I am one of the many guardian angels. I was not born but rather created. I have been alive since the beginning of time. I am a rather kind person. I like everyone. They like me as well and treat me well usually. I have been able to save many demons from there sinful course and bring them to the true life that they deserve."

She stared at the demon curiously.

"Are you happy with your life?"

Ryuu was a bit surprised with the openness Maria had just shown by revealing so much about her. He wonder for a moment if it was perhaps a form of trust or perhaps it was merely how angels were suppose to be? Most of the time though he didn't quite get such an open response. 'Could be a trick I suppose, though I'm not sure if that would be valid...' he thought to himself questioning. Then again she mostly told the basics and nothing too terribly personal, in his opinion at least.

Once more he came to shock by the last bit of information. Saving a demon from their ways? That was definitely a new one for the time demon. The surprises however seemed to continue as he was suddenly asked if he was happy with his own life. "That's...a rather tricky question, even if it doesn't quite seem like one. Either saying yes or no to it would be admitting to having emotions about something. Unfortunately I'm not quite permitted such luxuries so I don't really have an answer to that" the demon replied calmly. If he truly wanted he knew he could analyze his life and determine what sort of forbidden emotion he felt about his life, however the cost of it would be his sanity and at the moment that was something he couldn't lose just yet. After all he had a mission that needed to be accomplish first before he went and messed with his own internal battles.

"Although to turn the tides I could perhaps ask you the same question. You said you enjoyed looking after children, however you're not permitted to have your own. Is that really a decision you're happy with?" he quietly asked, leaning against what really seemed to be nothing.

She frowned at the question. It was an interesting concept. Was she happy not being permitted to have her own children? She shook her head. She did not need to let herself open up to self doubt. That was the path to sin.

"Of course I am. I am perfectly happy. I do not need any children to be happy. If I let myself fall prey to mortal sin then I will forever lose everything I have. I do better not thinking about it at all."

She looked at him with a tilted head. Her mind was racing. Why was she letting him get to her like this? Why was she even thinking about this?

Ryuu couldn't help but let out a quiet chuckle at Maria's answer. "Come now, although a time demon I am a demon and it's not hard to tell when one is possibly lying. Are you sure that you're not lying to yourself? Wouldn't not actually thinking about it show you've doubts? I doubt if simply analyzing and admitting how you truly feel about something is further from sin then simply avoiding it. After all on a technical level that would be considered lying and isn't that in and of itself a sin?" the time demon calmly replied. In truth the demon hadn't quite expected to possibly reach his goals in such a way, but he did admit that it suited him better then the suggestions that were being forced into his mind.

She frowned again thinking about it a moment. She smiled at him suddenly and her eyes lit up.
"You are just trying to trick me. This is not going to happen. You are not going to tempt me so easily demon. Now if you do not mind I must head home. It is late."
She stood up and turned walking away from him. Hopefully he would leave her alone and let her go on her way. If he bothered her still she would have to pull out a secret weapon and get rid of him.

One of Ryuu's eyebrows rose at the smile and light within the angel's eyes. It appeared to him that his words were thwarted, but then he didn't really mind. "If I had the desire to tempt I would have been more direct about it. Time although controllable is short, I wouldn't bother with mind games. That was me merely stating a questioning opinion nothing more nothing less" he replied with a calm shrug. As Maria turned and began to leave the foreign voice within his mind screamed for him to follow.

'Silence. I've my own ways of dealing with things. I will not stand for your constant mental interference...' the time demon thought and successfully silencing the voice. "Although I will say if you do find an answer to the question I would be rather interested in discovering what it is. After all I've answered your question as direct as I'm capable, I would think such a response in return would be suitable wouldn't you?" the black eyed demon calmly called before allowing himself to melt within the shadows. It was a bit dramatic yes, but it was a tactic that was usually always successful.

She paused turning around to see him fade away. Her eyes widened and she looked around for him. Where did he go now?
"Ryuu?" She was starting to get a little scared. She did not like it when she could not see a demon. She did not want to move for fear of him popping out in a random spot. Maria had a slight fear of demons when they could not see them. THis one was powerful and she was truly worried about this.

Ryuu could feel the pulling at his mind as his name was called. 'Accursed traits...' he thought almost bitterly to himself. "Yes my dear Maria?" the time demon called from the shadows, though his voice seemed to echo all around, not betraying his exact location. 'Just because I'm to respond when my name is called doesn't mean I must show myself after all...' he thought to himself as a slight smirk graced his face for a few moments before returning to its usual more distant look. As a time demon he knew the rules and inherited traits of his kind. He wondered for a moment why he hadn't given a fake name instead of his true name. Perhaps it had something to do with the light of an angel, however Ryuu didn't really know. He only knew that when his name was called he was summoned and had to respond. Usually it was during one of his many time jumps and so he would be forced to show himself. Of course this time he had already been within the area, so perhaps that was luck for him.

She looked around more. What is going on? Why was he hiding from her?
"Wa...wa...what are you doing? Why are you hiding yourself?"
She knew there was something going on but she did not know what it was and it was making her upset. Her voice was shaky and her hands were jittery. She could not hold still.
"What do you want from me?"

Ryuu remained masked within the shadows. "A simply safety precaution. You're an angel so there's always that nasty little attack and fight thing that seems to usually happen. And to be honest such primal things such as fighting with an angel just simply don't interest me" the time demon's voiced echoed. He knew better then to give away what his position was, and although he didn't really want to angel to have fear of him at the moment he also wasn't about to possibly endanger himself if it could be helped. After all time demons weren't particularly a fighting demon race. They didn't possess the physical strength that many other demons had, and aside from their powers over time the only thing going for them was speed and agility. Perhaps because of that most time demons weren't interested in fights like other demon kind, but then again that didn't stop them from the thrill of the kill either although they had different ways to go about it.

Shaking his head he cleared his mind from such distracting thoughts. Now was not the time to divulge in battle tactics of his race. "As I've said before why would I want anything? The only person here that truly desires something from you is my benefactor" the time demon replied calmly. He could see the visible fear on the angel and thought about risking showing himself for a few brief moments to perhaps still that fear. Then again it was usually in fear that people attacked.

"Well he has obviously sent you after me for a reason. Are you going to tell me what the reason is?" She was calming a little but was curious as to who this benefactor was and what he wanted with her.

"Who is your benefactor?"

She had to figure out what was going on. Her mind drifted to the children. They had all disappeared. She gasped.

"What did you do to my children?"
