Syra watched Elijah approach. His first sentence caused her eyebrow to twitch. "Get on with it." When he continued though, her mood lightened. "Oh, I think we can move pretty quickly. And where, pray tell, are those dear pirates?" she asked, her voice almost sickly-sweet. Syra watched Esperetta walk onto the deck. Each one of them had a reason to catch the Wail, perhaps luck was finally on their side.
He smirked lightly. "Fast enough, we'll get there in maybe, ten minutes." He said, pointing in the direction where he knew that the others went. "They need supplies. And repairs. They'll be at the port. But, they'll know we will be on their tail, so we must make haste." he added, knowing that Syra would know what that meant. They had no time to lose. Right now they were going at a decent pace, but nowhere near fast enough to get there in time. "If you want, we can try and push the time to less.. But doubtful."
Elliot had finished shopping for his end of the supplies and boarded them on the ship for the others to put away. He was now on his way to the pub, to get a much needed break and appreciate the chatter of the people walking around. They had enough time. He was certain the navy idiots wouldn't reach them in time. He winked a little at some of the girls that had stared at him, but didn't offer anything more. He knew that a certain captain wouldn't hesitate to smack him if they saw anything else. Sighing, he went inside the building. After looking around he spotted a table and went to sit down, ordering himself a drink. |
Syra brushed a hand through her hair and grinned. "To port." She agreed. She called the helms man back up to take control. Seeing as the Captain was once again locked in their quarters, Syra took lead. She began barking orders, walking along the deck, making sure every usable hand was helping to speed up their pace.

Si'la's dark mood had gotten darker as the last barrels had been hauled on deck. She bellowed orders for this person or that to get things below decks or in the places they were supposed to go. As a few stranglers finally got on deck, she ordered the man she had assigned the task to tell her if everyone was on board.
The man wasn't happy when he reported that some weren't back yet. He shrank away from the aura that suddenly came off of his captian. She merely nodded and dismissed him with a wave of her hand. She looked around and strode over to where Jerik had just come on board with a large crate of the cannon things. "Put the box down and let someone else handle it, Master Kuu. Your coming with me. We have to round up a few people and I'll need your help if I'm to move quick enough. I want out of this port now." Not even bothering to wait for the nod the man gave, she turned and bellowed to the rest that were on board. "GET READY TO SET SELL, YOU LAGGARDS! WE HAD BETTER BE READY TO MOVE BY THE TIME I GET BACK!" She whirled around and was gone before many even got the chance to start moving. Her black eyes glinted like obsidian death. She headed towards the taverns and bars, thinking she knew where at least one of the few left offship would be. Jerik would have grumbled to himself if he actually liked to talk. He hated having to be a herder, much less for a bunch of pirates. Not to mention he wanted to make sure that all the cannon things were put away right. He had an organization freak streak in him from time to time. But he did as he was bid. The captain looked like she was in a right foul mood. Even with his silent grumblings, he did his job by moving just as fast as the captain, which was a feat in itself, and moving people out of her way so that they wouldn't bear the brunt of her animosity. He wondered if whoever the crew members were that weren't on board would survive out the rest of the day, let alone the next few minutes once she finds them. |
Elliot had taken his drink and was now cheerfully sipping it. It wasn't rum, that was certain. He'd have enough of that on board. He was sitting down slightly toward one of the corners, chatting with a few of the locals about the weather, and where would there be good trading routes. Info on where to hide from the navy. It seemed here was a boatload of information. This was good news. He found out that they could take a route less known to smugglers, but slightly more prone to unpredictable weather. It would lead to an island on where to hide out for a few days. Bad news was it was almost half a week's time. He did flirt a little with the pub waitresses, they were rather pretty.
Elijah smirked a little, giving a short nod to Retta before he himself went to work, helping to get the ship to gain speed, and shouting some other orders to keep the slower ones to work. He was eager to get to the port. maybe even play a trick on them. |
((ok i know what do do.gemini was with jerik before,so i'll just jump in from there.))
following jerik like a lost puppy, gemini did everything she was bid.she was quickly getting used to following unspoken orders.she was also getting used to her captain'ss temper.it reminded her of her grandmother, who had been a captain herself in days past.keeping herself out of the captain's way, gemini stopped for a second to wipe the sweat off her forehead and then quickly continued to follow jerik, waiting for her next orders. |
Jerik smiled down at Gemini when he noticed that she was still with him. He figured one other person with him and the captain might actually be a good idea. He just hoped that whoever they had to find were...prepared for her.
She reached a tavern and would have passed it with a quick scan through when she heard Elliots distinct voice. Her fists balled up and she slammed into the establishment, ignoring the keeps protests. She strode evilly across the floor and stood in front of her first mate, no speaking a word. She knew at this point, she really wouldn't have to. The glare that played across her face said it all. |
Elliot was smiling a little before he heard the door suddenly slam. It made him want to duck his head for a moment. Oh no... He knew from that, and the aura that came with the person whom it was. Hearing the footsteps stop right in front of him, he smiled somewhat sheepishly. In an attempt to lighten up the mood. It didn't work though. "H,hey there." he tried, his voice somewhat calm. She is so going to give it to me later. Or maybe now. He quickly gulped down his drink and stood up, giving a small sheepish grin to the others. "I suppose I have t'go, nice chatting with you.." He said, chuckling before waving, somewhat making a beeline around Si'la to get to the exit.
gemini grinned back up at jerik before hurrying back to work, wanting to get things done before the captain got back.perhaps if they could finish, they could help ease the captain's bad mood a bit.blade hovered along behind her,not saying a word except to remind her every so often to lift with her legs, not her back.
Si'la almost grinned evilly at Elliot but she kept the glare. She hadn't even needed to say a word to him and he started out. She was actually almost looking forward to yelling at him this time. She turned on her heels, nodded at the barkeep for not bothering her too much and followed her first mate out the door. She kept pace with him easily as they headed back to the ship. For a brief moment, she felt like they were back to the day when they left home, walking briskly along the docks of a port town, looking for a ship to hop on. She quickly shook that away, coming back to the present. Things had been a little simpler then.
She noticed that Jerik was walking ahead of them, clearing a path back to the ship. That made things easier. When they got back, she motioned for Jerik to pull up the plank, assuming that everyone else had gotten back on board already. She looked at Elliot. "Cabin. Now." And pointed. She didn't follow him right away, instead booming, "ALRIGHT YOU BLOODY SHIPMEN! GET MY SHIP OUT OF HERE! IF WE'RE NOT OUT OF PORT IN FIVE MINUTES, IT'S ALL OF YER HIDES!" She stood there a moment, smiling fondly in all the hustle and bustle that started at her words. She lived for things like this, for a busy ship setting sail. Only two things she loved more. Actually being out on sea and...well, that's something she was still having a hard time admitting to herself. Jerik had pulled up the plank and stowed it away. He grabbed Gem and tugged her along to follow him. He didn't want her to get trampled since she probably wasn't sure what she herself was to do at then. This way, if she followed him, she would at least be out from under foot. He stopped next to the beginning of the rigging and pointed up to the masts with a questioning look on his face, trying to ask her if she could climb. |
Elliot almost sighed, closing his eyes as he tried to enjoy the walk back. He managed to not run into anyone, but that was mostly because Jerik had paved the way for them. Thankfully. The only reason he hadn't put up a fight to not leave was, he didn't want to make a scene in the place. Nor did he want to hurt anyone's ears. He was positive she was going to yell. Never missed a chance to yell at him before. For a moment, his expression fell. She hates me. His eyes flickered to the ocean and blinked before nodding at the captain's command. No use arguing now. Feeling somewhat uneasy he grudgingly went over to the cabin and opened the door, sitting down on an open chair.
gemini yelped in surprise as jerik yanked her out of the way,but she was glad he did,or she might have been so much mush under everyone's boots by now.she looked up to thank him only to find him looking from her to the masts and pointing."yeah i can climb.i been climbin' like a squirrel since i was jus' a little thing.i might be small, but hights aint got any effect on me." she said proudly."why, you wan' me ta climb up there?"
The little muskrat, Well-E, clambored down from his hiding spot and instantly launched himself at Elliot, wanting a cuddle badly. Like most seafarring folk, the little rodent preferred being out at sea then anchored near land. He snuggled down on Elliots lap then looked up at him with expectant eyes. He wanted to be pet.
Jerik smiled and motioned for her to follow him. They were going to help release the sails. He always helped do that, his size giving him an advantage to reach what rigging the rest of the crew couldn't. He then started climbing up and up and up, until he reached the spot that always gave the shorter ones trouble. Luckily, there was room for Gem to help too. He hoped she would learn by watching. He wasn't really one to have to explain it all. |
Elliot blinked in surprise when he felt the sudden weight on his lap. Looking down, he cracked a smile before picking him up and giving a hug. "Hey there again." he said somewhat playfully. Usually he'd always have time to play with Well-E but these days the only reason he came in the captain's cabin was because of getting in trouble. So he couldn't play so much. He did smell slightly of alcohol, but he wasn't drunk. The drink he'd had wasn't very strong. He placed the animal back down on his lap and stroked his fur. "I got in trouble again." he muttered, sticking his tongue out to make it seem light. "Lucky she won't ever get mad at you."
Well-E snorted, like he understood Elliot, at the last comment. Then he proceeded to curl up in the mans lap once more and tried to resume napping.
He smirked a little. "Well, less than myself." he relented before letting him fall back to sleep. His eyes wandered around the cabin, slightly bored. He hummed softly, to help Well-E go back to sleep. It was a soft, sort of lulluby he'd been taught at a younger age. His family had been somewhat gifted in the artistic area, something he didn't like much anymore. Reminded him too much of his brothers.
Seeing that everything was under way, Si'la headed to her cabin, her face darkening again. She hated being mean to him but he just never learned. She paused at the door, hearing him hum. She never heard him do that anymore. She rested her forehead quietly on the door, closing her eyes for a moment, enjoying the peace. Then she sighed and opened her door rather nicely compared to the bar she had just visited. She walked in and sat at her desk, a scowl now dominating her features. "Well-E, you damn flake."
He stopped humming the moment he heard the door open and glanced over. He didn't like to hum, or sing in public anymore. Si'la included in the public. His eyes followed Si'la as she went and sat on her chair. He didn't really speak yet, waiting for her to say something. Elliot almost chuckled at her words. "He likes me." he said simply before sighing. "Well.. Go on and yell your heart out at me. I daresay you're itching to do it." he muttered, closing his eyes. After she had her yell fit at him, he could tell her about what he learned. Or not tell her and just go ahead and do it. Along with another yelling match because of not doing it.
Si'la just looked at him, not saying anything for a few minutes, thinking that maybe it would make him a little uncomfortable even though his eyes were closed. "Ell, how come you stopped singing? You used to all the time." Her voice was pretty quiet. She was tired and scared fo things that might come and mostly just missed when things weren't so...complicated.
He frowned at the question. And at the nickname again. The one time he had done it in a while, and he got caught. Just his luck. He should have been more careful with being overheard. Or just not do it anymore. He opened his eyes to stare at her, a questioning gaze meeting her. She wasn't acting mad anymore. Wary that this might be some form of trap, he shook his head. "Cause I don't want to. Maybe I used to before, but things have changed." he replied truthfully. Just like the fact that they might not have been as close as before. Like a bunch of other things. He didn't like them, but had come to accept them.
She shook her head and quietly, "That doesn't sound like you." She then looked at him, her silver eyes hard once more. "Elliot, why did you go a tavern when you knew perfectly well that I wanted to get everything done and leave as soon as it was? You were supposed to be helping me with this. I just," Her voiced cracked and for a moment, her hard captains face fell and the woman behind it came through. A sad, overwhelmed, and scared woman. Then it was gone again and her voice returned to normal. "If you don't respect me, the other crew members will think they can get away with it. I thought you knew that. I can't have you go gallivanting off like a barfly and doing what you please."
He smirked wryly but didn't say anything to her first comment. He shrugged a little and sighed as he straightened up once again, careful not to disturb the animal sleeping on his lap. He frowned, noticing her voice crack and expression fall. "Si'la.." he muttered, almost wanting to reach over and comfort her but decided against it. It wasn't his right anymore. "Best way to get away from navy, was to find a route they wouldn't think of going." he replied. "I asked for another route on heading somewhere. An island that's pretty not too far away from here, but well hidden, and not easy for navy people to find." His eyes turned back to her. "I'm not completely a screw up, you know.. I usually have a reason, or have you forgotten about that?" he asked.
Si'la shook her head. "No, I haven't forgotten. I just wish you would tell me what you were doing like you used to so that I don't get pissed at you all the time." She looks down at her desk then back up to him "Since you know where we're going, please make sure that we get there and you will show me on my maps when your done. I'm going to...stay in here until then. I'm sorry I doubted you. Just make sure we don't run into the Navy." She stood and turned, looking out the window behind her.
"It came at spur of the moment." he admitted before frowning a little. She didn't seem to be in her best moods. He picked up Well-E and stood up. "Are you alright?" he asked, concern laced in his voice as he walked behind the desk after putting the smaller animal down on his seat. He would do what she said, after he made sure she was okay.
Elijah grinned lightly, seeing what seemed to be the port. He wanted to surprise them, so he ordered them to hide just in case they were spotted. He wanted to sneak onto the ship. It seemed they were getting ready to leave, but without the repairs done yet. Maybe they knew they weren't too far from the Navy's path. Smart of them. Just like what he expected. "I'm going on a smaller boat and hopefully get on before they notice." he said to one of the men, hoping that they'd relay the message to the captain and first mate. He changed his features, hair getting longer, and curlier. His face was now of a younger male, with light brown eyes and black hair. He had somewhat shrunk too, but it wasn't too much. Having changed into a slightly worn outfit he smirked before climbing on the rowboat alone. He could pretend long enough to get to his brother. |
gemini took a breath and followed jerik, climbing fearlessly after him.looking at her, since she was so small and slight, one might actually have mistaken her for a squirrel or a monkey.when she got to the top,she clung on with her legs and let her arms loose, hanging on skillfully."ok,jus show me what ta do an i'll follow.i'm a fast learner."
