Jerik smiles and shows her what to do. They were already on their way but they still had to do things up there. Most of the crew that let down the sails had left, knowing Jerik to finish up the stuff they couldn't do. He noticed that Gem did very well. He was glad she learned quickly. That always helped in a pirates life.
Si'la didn't turn to look at him, knowing that face would give away her lie. "I'm fine. Just tired and worried that the Dragon isn't far behind." She almost held her to breath to see if he would believe the lie. She for some reason couldn't remember if he ever knew she was lying before, like she sometimes could with him. |
Elliot scowled, knowing well she wasn't telling the truth. "I'll believe that when I go home again. What's really wrong?" he asked. He didn't want to be lied to. While that may have been on her mind and that was something of concern, it wasn't what bothered her. It was something more. And he wanted to know. If she insisted on not telling him, then he would leave it alone. For the moment. He glanced over to the window and noticed they were starting to leave the port. He just hoped they had everyone on board.
following dutifully behind jerik, gemini did as she was taught, without needing to be told.her face was a mask of stern concentration that was impressive for a girl her age.even when the ship started to mive, gemini didn't lose focus-or even seem to notice.the breeze blowing at her hair, she worked steadily behind the man who was quickly becoming her mentor.floating along behind her, blade made comments here and there about better ways to make knots and such.
She could feel the flare of her temper but for once she decided not to take it out on him...for once. But Si'la figured she should be a little honest this time, to herself as well. "What do you care, Elliot? I'm just a pain in your ass and heaven knows what else you call me when I can't hear." Her arms are folded over her chest as she still continues to look out the window as the ship started to sail back out to home.
Jerik grinned at the girl when they finally finished. He just sat there, straddling a mast as he watched them leave the land. For all he was a sand rat at heart, he loved the open sea. |
Elliot sighed at that response. Of course she'd say something like that. Who was he kidding. "Because, even if you think you're a pain in my ass.. I still care about you." he said, walking over to her. He did stop a foot or two away from her to give her some space. "That's never going to change." he pointed out. Even if we aren't as close.. Sometimes, he did have to wonder what would happen if he went back home. Or never greed to this. He had to wonder if they would still be close. Or something more. Maybe not, Si'la never did seem to want to be tied down.
Si'la sighs. "I really hate you sometimes. Not more than I hate myself, but really. It's stupid." She growls quietly to herself for even saying that. So freaking stupid, she thought. I'm being stupid. "We need to get out of here. The Dragon's likely close by already, knowing them and your brother." Changing the subject...she wondered if it would actually work.
Elliot chuckled and gave her a small smirk. Even if it wasn't seen, he knew she could hear it from his tone. "Only sometimes? Well, what is it?" he asked, not wanting to change it so much. He looked out in the ocean as well and smirked. "Let them come, I'd love to fight him." he muttered, shrugging lightly. He always was stubborn.
This time she turns and glares at him, her eyes abnormally metallic silver. "Don't be the idiot you pretend to be. You know full well what would happen if they caught up with us." Si'la chose to ignore the question. "It wouldn't just be you fighting your brother, Elliot. It would be all of them and all of us. And quite honestly, I'm not willing to risk my crew right now for something stupid like your brothers vendetta."
He sighed, giving her a look right back. "I know.." he said before closing his eyes. "Fine. Whatever. Keep secrets from me... I'll see you later." he said, giving up for the moment before walking up to her and hugging her firmly, kissing her forehead and then quickly retreating before she did start yelling at him because of the little stunt. He couldn't have helped it though. He just felt like doing it.
Elijah had managed to catch up the the ship, scrambling up the anchor carefully. He made a small face at having been forced to do this. Stooping this low. All for his brother. And getting revenge on the idiot girl who took him away. He glanced up and noticed that there were two people looking out, so he ducked, making sure they weren't looking when he climbed over and hid behind some barrels. Now, to find out where the other two were.. |
Si'la's eyes seemed like they were going to pop out of her head when he hugged her and kissed her forehead. She didn't even have time to say anything before he left the room. Her face felt hot, which meant it had to be very red. She picked up a metal pitcher and chucked it at the closing door, slamming the door shut the rest of the way and giving the pitcher a new unique character. Wall-E scrambled to his hiding place. "BLOODY PIRATE!!!!" was all she managed to get out. The rest was choked back. I am not going to cry, I am not going to cry. DAMNIT! Why is he so bloody frustrating?! She plumped down on her chair and buried her head in her hands.
Elliot winced at hearing her. Anyone could hear her. he almost sighed, unaware that he was being watched as he started to walk to the wheel. Before he knew it though, he felt something hit his head and an instant blackness overcame him. Only a soft groan came out as he was caught in the arms of someone.
Elijah smirked triumphantly as he quickly moved them to a more secluded area. He glanced down, inspecting Elliot some more. He almost scowled. What the hell did you do to your hair?? he asked in his mind, slightly furious. He shifted his hair and face yet again, to resemble Elliot's face. He didn't doubt, from that yell that it was the Captain's cabin. He quickly unclothed Elliot and put on the clothes. With any hope, he could pass off somewhat decently. |
gemini looked up as they finished to see the land growing smaller behind them.she breathed in deeply, loving the smell of the salty air.it had been her favorite smell her whole life.she closed her eyes and felt the wind in her hair and the spray of salt water on her face, and sighed in happieness.she had dreamed of this as a child, standing out on the rocks near the ocean just outside her village.for a moment she thought of her mother, and the smile slipped off her face, but blade reminded her that she would go back someday, and she smiled again, knowing that her mother was ok.
Jerik watched Gemini, all the facial expressions and everything, so what had gone on below went unnoticed by him. He raised his eyebrows as she lost a smile and then got it back. He hoped she was okay. He was growing a soft spot for the girl, which was silly but that's just how he was. To prove that it was happening, he had even thought about using his gift to make her smile before she gained the expression back again. Which he hates doing.
Si'la ended up crying anyway. She didn't sob, or in fact make any noise. Tears just fell from her face to either pool in her hands or drop between her fingers and splat on the floor. Well-E crawled from his hiding spot and jumped into the small space her arms had left for him to land in her lap. He nuzzled her, trying to comfort. A smile pulls at the corners of her mouth, as Well-E had a tendency to do to her. She dropped her hands and pet her companion, not really noticing that she was getting him all wet from her tears. Not that Well-E complained. She was still hunched over but her hands weren't covering her face and the tears began to slow. |
Elijah smirked a little after having hid Elliot somewhere so he wouldn't be spotted. He marched over to where the cabin was, pausing only to confirm that for some reason.. Si'la was crying. He almost laughed, but instead just composed himself and knocked softly before entering. Seeing her hunched and still crying he raised an eyebrow. "Why are you crying?" he asked, closing the door behind him, and locking it. Now this wasn't how he thought he'd meet her, but it worked just as well. The one person that stole his other brother.
Si'la's head shot up and she was suddenly very angry. Of all the freaking people to see her like this...Well-E skittered from her lap and was heading towards Elliot but then stopped dead in front of him. Looking up, his nose was twitching back in forth as he sniffed. Then he ran back the other way and hid under the desk, chittering loudly at Elijah. The smell was all wrong.
Si'la didn't notice as she glared at the man standing there. "What are you doing? Your supposed to be on deck." He wasn't supposed to see her like this. He was supposed to be getting them out of here and away from the Dragon Ditch. "Well-E, shut up. What is wrong with you?" Suddenly she stood, the chair falling over from the sudden gesture. Her silver eyes were a dark stormy grey, her face in a snarl. "Why did you lock the door, Elliot?" |
Elijah walked over as her question came up. "I heard you cry." he said simply, standing close enough, but not Too close. He gave a look of mild disgust at Well-E. What the hell was that doing there? Probably a pet for her. Of course it would hide from him. He couldn't control smells. He realized that Si'la also caught onto that. A dark look crossed over his face as he smirked. "Because I don't want us to be interrupted." he said simply, his hand going to his waist, where his things were. "I do hope your time with my dear brother was well spent. I came to take him back. He was easy to subdue."
Si'las eyes were dark now. Her face looked evil. Her voice was soft and she couldnt keep the malice from seeping through. "He is not yours to take or let go. He has his own mind and spirit, Elijah." She already had several needles in each hand, her larger weapons out of reach. Not that she cared. She preferred to riddle this man in particular with holes. "I'm not a little girl anymore, you know. You won't be able to do much to me like you had when we sparred in the past. If you really choose to engage me in combat." She growled. "Your such a bloody fool."
Elijah growled softly, narrowing his eyes at her. "He is mine. He doesn't know anything else yet. I'll take him back and get rid of your influence on him." His eyes trailed down to her arms, his own gripping and then taking out a couple of his darts. "You haven't changed at all. I have Elliot already.. He's in the Navy's ship." he mocked, nodding his eyes to the window, where the ship could be seen already. Of course, she didn't know he was still there. He could have been taken by a smaller rowboat. "Your crew fails. As I am sure you will too. I bet you still haven't told him you love him." he said, laughing softly.
gemini looked up at jerik, getting the feeling that he was watching her."so,is there anythin' else ta do? it aint yet late enough ta turn in.least,i'm not ready ta be done yet!" she said, her eyes shining with the energy and confidence that came with youth.
Trapper looked out one of the windows of the cabin and smiled. She liked being out at sea. Sighing she strummed her lute and held her quill in her hand. She wrote down some notes that seemed to fit with the rest of the music originally there. Trapper flinched as she heard the captain but ignored her at most and played her instrament.
Jerik jerked when he caught something out of the corner of his eye. They widened instantly and he jerkily motioned towards the ship that was trailing them. He looked at Gem, since she's faster, "Get the captain. Enemy's here." As he himself began to climb down the riging, his rather intrusively loud voice was shouting, "ENEMY SIGHTED! IT'S THE DRAGON DITCH! ENEMY INCOMING!"
Si'la laughed. She actually laughed. "Oh, you poor naive fool. You have no idea who your brother even is. Did you ever once consider his feelings and what he wants? As for my influence, your even more stupid then I had thought. Elliot got me to run away and leave, not the other way around. Your brother wanted to run away. I just went with him to get out of our idiotic existence. If you actually cared about your brother at all, Ellijah, you would realize that this is the best for him. He knows it, you should too." She grinned evilly. "You would not have gotten him off my ship without my crew noticing, believe me. That is a fact that you wouldn't be able to comprehend. And as much as I would love to riddle you with holes and kill you now, it would break Elliot's heart and that's something that I don't want to see. So I would rather not fight. You should ask him what he wants, Ellijah, not just assume your god and know all. He has his own mind and own person. I did nothing to influence that as you apparently believe." She heard Jerik's voice sounding the alarm and she raised an eyebrow at Elijah. "You see? Not much gets passed them. They are very competent, even if I'll have to skin their hides for letting you on ship. Trust me, it won't happen again. Now," She gestured at his ship. "I'll give you this once to get off my ship and go back to your own." Her eyes where very dark now, the silver that they usually were almost non-existant. "But if you ever board my ship without permission again, or do anything to or with Elliot without his permission again, I will cut your throat while you sleep." She was still in a fighting stance, ready for if he chose to attack her, which she was hoping he wouldn't. He didn't understand the advantage she had. Or that she was quicker and stronger than she used to be. |
gemini jumped into action instantly, climbing down faster than anyone would think possible.jumping the last five or so feet and landing on the deck with a small, light sound, gemini looked around to find someone who would listen.she decided that the captain would be the best, and so took a chance on her life and ran to the captain's cabin door.she knocked, loudly but respectfully, and called in "beggin' yer pardon cap'n,but we're bein' tailed!" she yelled, hoping the captain wasn't in too bad of a mood.
"How are you so sure? They missed the boat coming here, they could have missed it when they took him back." he said, narrowing his eyes. He shrugged. He would love nothing more than to have her try. Just so they could ambush her."I doubt you'd want to come after me just to do that. You could find yourself with a noose around your neck." he snapped before he scoffed. He wasn't in his element right now, and would be a fool to try and fight her at the moment. "We'll see each other soon enough." he muttered, his eyes glancing over to the door at the knock. "I'll take my leave, Captain." he said sarcastically before his eyes grew concerned. He still looked like Elliot so he would use that to his advantage. Opening it, he let the girl in and nodded at her. "I'll get some of the others." he said, sounding hurried as he went past her and moved out before jumping over the railing and into the water. He still had to get back to the others. The ship by now, had shot a cannon ball to the damn pirates' ship.
