Jerik listened to everything, smiling slightly at the older man. He liked him, as he did pretty much everyone, even if he tended to male company because he was uncomfortable around women. When Tobias came in, he grinned. He loved the little tyke. Reminded him of his younger brother, who's body rested in the sand of his homeland. He clapped the boy on the shoulder gently as a good morning.

Tobias smiled slightly still sticking close to Codette this early in the morning as he looked at everyone, "Hello.. good morning.. i slept.. like a log." he said smiling and laughing again, "Im supposed to say how did you sleep, right?" he asked looking down unsure what he was supposed to say, he was trying to learn how to act around people but he was still unsure.

Rayanna was happy for the little distraction."Hey lil' niņo. Morning to ya." She grinned also patting the boy on the head. "Glad you slept well." He was so cute. The little brat was adorable for a stowaway but it was fine. Not like he wasn't useful and Rayanna missed seeing children. Reminded her that she wanted her own little rug-rat someday. Now that was something she hadn't thought about in a while. Not ending up like her parents she wasn't so sure she'd ever have children. Especially out here. 'Well that's one dream gone with another...' She thought irritatedly. Oh well you had to sacrifice a lot on the sea. She rolled her eyes at herself. Not the time for this.

Codette smiled at the gathering, then gave a small giggle and hugged Tobias. "Hey cutie!" She loved Tobias like a little brother. She found him adorable and helpful. "It's good to hear your slept well. Now how 'bout some breakfast?" she tossed him an orange. "ya need your healthy foods." She was glad he was slowly becoming comfortable around the others. She always wondered why he chose her, but she wasn't complaining. Tobias was good company when everyone was busy.

Tobias smiled hugging Codette back and then he grabbed the orange almost dropping it, "Thank you... but i am healthy... i can beat anyone." he said trying to puff up his chest and failing. Then he pulled out his small knife and started waving it in the air, "Ill take on anyone!" he said running around as he ate bits of his orange and waved his knife around before standing behind Codette and facing everyone else as if he was protecting her waving his knife, tobias knew why he liked Codette so much she was the closest thing to a mother he had ever had before.

She giggled. "I know love. I know" She picked up her cleaver. "Ah but can you beat me?" Codette grinned waving her cleaver towards him playfully. "Now be careful. With my luck you'd poke me a bit with that thing!" She faked a scared sigh and continued descaling the fish.

Tobias jumped up turning around and shut his eyes more afraid of her cleaver swishing the blade all over the place before opening his eyes and smiling. Tobias laughed and purposely poked her leg before giggling and running to the other end of the kitchen laughing as he crouched in the corner.

Laurie laughed at the play-fight. It reminded her of what it was like to be young and surrounded by adults who weren't afraid to act like kids with you. Is this what you resort to, Laurie? Admiring little kids? You could've had your own, you know, had you not gone off and sailed the seven seas. You useless brat. Laurie sighed. After all these years, her mother was still haunting her thoughts. You could've even eloped with that fool from your younger days. I wouldn't have bothered you about that. But nooo. You had to go and follow his father's commands. You had to go and take on medicine. She shook her head to clear her thoughts. It wouldn't do for her to keep thinking about this. "Tobias, do you know martial arts?" she asked, moving her arms in a karate-type gesture. "I could show you, if you want." She said, smiling.

Tobias smiled and laughed, "Ok... ill take you on.. and beat you!" he said as he started to run at her and jumping as if he was going to kick her but falling quite short and hitting the ground. He stood again and started waving his arms around, he wasn't used to a lot of people and he was nervous and unsure what to do so he was just going to play. Tobias was very unsure what to do but he knew that he was safe for some reason and he knew that no matter what he could run to codette for some reason, her being the cook he thought see was the safest bet and she was the most like a mother to him.

Laurie smiled and laughed. "Okay," she said, getting into challenge position, "Bring it on." She ran at him equally and quickly sidestepped him the first time. "You're pretty fast for a kid," she said. She walked closer to him. "You're never going to hit someone hard enough if you wave your arms around like that," she told him. "Do this," and she put her arms out in front of her, bent and flexed. "Like that, see?"

Tobias looked at Laurie and smiled bending his arms, "I prefer to stick people like you!!!" he siad smiling but doing what she said and trying to attack. Tobias was joking and laughing as he looked at her and wanted to play around as long as it was fun he would learn it but when it wasnt fun he hated to learn. "I can fight anyone!!" he said laughing and running towards Laurie.

Laurie smiled. "Alright then." She crouched down in defensive pose and readied herself for his attack. She didn't lock her arms too tight so to give him an allusion of power. He's going to be a great fighter one day,she thought, Maybe I'll get to teach him. There wasn't much room for her to move around, but she miniaturized her movements.

Tobias tripped as he got closer to Laurie and stumbled before falling and skidding to a stop infront of her looking up, "Opps... but here i can get your ankles!!!" he said giggling and trying to grab at her feet, bursting out laughing and grabbing one of her feet. "I got you..." he said as he laughed and rolled over to stand up still holding her ankle. "This is fun... i can get you and win!"

Laurie laughed as she slid to the floor when he grabbed her ankle. "Oh, you got me!" she cried, feigning terror, "What do you want from me?!" It was all play, but she couldn't help smiling through her act. She put her hands up to her cheeks and made a terrified maiden face. She'd had some experience in acting.

Tobias smiled and laughed, "I want.. I want... what do i want?!?!... i know.. i want.. A KISS." he said laughing and then thinking about it, "WAIT NO...you have kooties!!! Thats grosss!!!!" he said letting go of her ankle and standing up, he looked around and stuck his tongue out at Laurie. Tobias wasn't used t alot of attention but he was sucking it up completely now that he did have it but he still was weary.

Codette laughed during the entire encounter. She was happy that Tobias was opening up, and greatful to Laurie for doing it. "Here Tobias, I'll save you from Laurie's kooties!" She smiled, wiping her hands off on a rag. She took up one of her knives and pointed it to Laurie. "Don't you eva think about giving Tobias kooties young lady!" she mock threatened, trying not to smile

Tobias laughed and ran around to behind Codette, "Thanks Codette.. she was going to give me kooties and then id be infected!!!" he said laughing and puling out his tiny knife, "Ill watch your back and get you." he said smiling and hiding behind her leg. He smiled and smelt the fish turning around slightly and looking at the counter seeing the food, his hands going to work trying to grab anythin edible he could get them on.

Codette laughed and looked behind her. Seeing Tobias going after the fish she sighed and gently tapped his head. "If you wanted some fish, all you had to do is ask." she chucked softly, slicing a chunk off one of the previously cut fish. "Watch out for bones! Don't need you choking on them." she warned softly.

Tobais laughed and grabbed the piece of the fish and laughed, "But asking isnt as fun at all." he said laughing and looking at the fish sitting down right there and starting to eat it picking apart the fish and eating it watching Codette and being completely quiet as he ate. He smiled feeling happy that he was eating, and he was surprised that he hadnt gotten killed when he stowed away.

Laurie put her hand up to her mouth in mock shock. "Me? Cooties? Never!" She laughed as she stood up. "Would an air kiss do, Tobias?" She asked, the corners of her mouth turned up as she dusted off her pants. "Oh, well, you'll get one anyway," she blew a kiss to him. She walked up to Codette. "Can I have a piece?" she asked.

Codette smiled. "Of course love." she sliced off the last of the fish, and handed it over. "Mind the bones." she warned habitually. She started packing away the salted fish, making sure to rotate the stock, so the sitting fish is on top to be eaten.

Jerik watched the playfulness, finishing up his fish. Having done that, he just leaned against the wall and chuckled every now and then at the boy and the antics he got everyone else into. It was quite entertaining, for sure.
Si'la was enjoying her time at the helm, as she usually did. It gave her something to do that allowed her to think and day dream. Because of that, she didn't notice when the pilot that was to take her place came up. "Uh, captain?" She looked at him, returning to the here and now. She smiles little. "Ah. Here you go then. Sorry I didnt hear you come." She gave the wheel over and headed back down to her cabin. Where she found her Quartermaster waiting patiently. She cleared her throat. "Ah-hem. 'Allo Master Bellamy. I was at the wheel. I did not know you would be here. Sorry to keep you waiting." She opened her door and ushered the man in. She sat at her desk. "What can I do for you?" |
Trapper woke up to sudden noises of laughter and voices. She rubbed her eyes as she looked around the barrels of apples she was sleeping behind. She glared at the three making noises that woke her up. She stumbled around the barrels and grabbed an apple from one of them. "Hey Coddy!" She said as she hopped on one of the many counters. "Wanna shut up? The giggle factor so doesn't suite you." She bit into her apple enjoying the taste of it and the freedom that came with it.
Retta screamed on the top of her lungs and threw a letter from her parents into the fire she had going for her soup. She stomped around the cabin throwing her kitchen knives at the wall. "HOW DARE SHE!?" She screamed as she threw things off the table and jumped up and down. "HOW DARE SHE! THAT GOOD FOR NOTHING BRAT! SHE COULDN'T JUST LIVE WITH WHAT SHE HAD!" She screamed and threw more things and threw the mother of all temper tantrums. |
Cedric walked through the door, saying, "Oh, it's no problem, captain, I wasn't here long."
He stopped inside and said, "I came to give you the reports on our cargo and the condition of the ship. Are you ready for it now?" He stood with his log book flipped open in his hand, open to the page listing the quantities of different items aboard the ship. There was not really much different than had already been guessed, but it was important to keep accurate numbers and keep everyone who needed to know up to date to avoid over or under stocking even the slightest. He stood still and calm, some aboard the ship were kept in line by fear of the captain and other ranked members, but Bellamy instead had respect for the Captain. He was never afraid of violence, he loved it. The only things he was afraid of were personal issues that he didn't often confide to others. Galfrond grabbed a piece of fish and started chewing, then said to Rayanna loudly, mouth full of fish meat, "Alright, I say we make towards the gun deck as soon as we're both done eating. Gotta have your priorities straight, right? All work and no filet makes Jack a dull boy. AH HAHAHAHAHAHA!" After he recovered from laughing, then choking on a piece of fish and regaining his breath, Galfrond recomposed himself and gave a smile, looking around at everyone. They all seemed happy. That was one thing they had over the Navy. Fun was good for morale, oppression wasn't. As far as Galfrond knew, everyone on this ship wanted to be here, while the same couldn't be said for the Navy ship chasing them. Hopefully that would prove a decisive advantage in their next battle. |
Codette rolled her eyes. "Oh shut it water rat." She muttered giving Tobias a hug. "Tobby you like me more than that mean ol' Trapper right?" She smiled. Codette joked with the other girl. It may not seem like it, but the bond she felt to the musician was different than the others. 'maybe because I brought her on to the ship...' she thought absently, still hugging her little helper.
Syrine heard the cook yelling. "Oh what now? why doesn't the entire crew have a melt down at the same time? At least then it would be organized!" She ground her teeth together and made her way to the kitchen. "Miss Elwood is something bothering you?" She asked coldly, her eyes roaming from one knife stuck in the wall to the next. "You might want to dig those out before the Captain sees. Guarantee that would not be a welcome, nor orderly, sight." Syrine folded her arms over her shoulders. She felt nothing for anyone in her crew. The Navy survived with order and discipline. Not friendship and hugs. |
