Thane threw his eyebrows together. "You were having a nightmare. You woke me up!" he said defensively as he immediately let her go and exited the tent for her to follow him out.

Lin frowned and said "What are you talking about?". She followed him out of the tent, she crossed her arms and said "I don't have nightmares! I've only had one once, but that was when I was a little kid!".

Thane let out a deep, angry sigh. One thing with being the decedent of Satin, his temper is short. "Then why did I find you moaning, tossing, turning, and mumbling in your sleep, Princess!?" he pointed out as he grabbed some logs off the pile he made yesterday and threw them angrily in the fire pit, then conjuring up his skills and made a new fire. The sun was coming up and it was a really foggy and wet day.

Lin looked confused 'I was what?....what the heck was I dreaming about?'. "Maybe I'm restless at night! All I know is that I wasn't having a nightmare!" Lin said as she shrugged. Lin sighed and looked at the sky, it was almost dawn. She sighed and said "I'm sorry I yelled at you...". She brushed her hair out of her face and sighed once more.

Thane just shook his head and sighed, unsure of how to say that she was forgiven. Him and his family, along with his people were never ones to be forgiven. But there was something about Lin that made Thane want to try to forgive. He changed his expression to a more relaxed expression as he put his hands on his hips and then brought his eyes up to meet Lin's from the fire. "Are you hungry, Lin?" he asked her in a totally changed voice that in a way, was a way of saying that he was sorry for yelling too. He hoped she heard that in his voice.

Lin smiled slightly and said "Yeah, I'm hungry.". Lin sat down on the log and spaced out for a moment, she was having a few flashes, they were showing parts of the nightmare. She shook her head and mumbled "What the...". She sighed and looked at the sky, she was trying not to space out again. She didn't like spacing out, she normally had flash backs that were sad or disturbing.

Thane weakly smiled back as he noticed her smile and turned around to get a spear from the chest he placed beside the tent. After getting the first one he grabbed out, he checked its point to make sure it wasn't dull. Then he got up and turned around to look at Lin, but frowned. "What's wrong?" he asked her as he the took the pocket knife he placed in the chest as well for safety reasons.

Lin looked at Thane and said "I-its nothing.". Lin got up and stretched, she sighed and sat back down. "Don't worry about it" Lin said "I was just spacing out.". 'pleas don't ask any more questions..questions are the last thing I need right now...'. Lin leaned back and looked at the sky, the sun was rising.

Thane just nodded his head, understanding that he needed to stop prying. They were on a mission. Not to friendship or closeness. "Okay, I'm going to go hunt. Be back within the hour," he said as he then disappeared into the forest.

Lin nodded and said "Okay, see you later.". Lin sighed and looked around camp, she had to find something to do while Thane was gone. She stared at a rock for a little while, but she got tired of that so she stopped staring at it. She got up and walked to the tent. She looked inside of it and sighed, she didn't want to go back to sleep. She sighed and walked back to the log and sat on it.

Thane had a dead deer hanging from his shoulder as he walked swiftly back to camp. When he finally got to camp, he sat on the opposite log and laid down the deer. "I couldn't find any bear," he said as he threw a small sack across the fire to land at Lin's feet. "So I found a deer and came across a rasberry bush, we need the fruit," he told her as he then began to cut into the deer's skin, motioning for a skillet.

Lin grabbed the bag and put it next to her. She got up and walked to the chest, she got a skillet and walked to Thane. she handed the skillet to him and went back to her seat. She opened the sack and looked at the berries. "The raspberries look good." she said to make conversation.

Thane mumbled a sweet 'thank you' as he grabbed it and slabbed down two clean, good pieces of meat as he grabbed his cantine and watered off the blood. Then he placed it over the fire. "Yeah, I made sure I picked the ripest ones, I hope you like them," he told her as he watched the deer work.

Lin nodded and said "Yeah....". She started to stare at the same rock she was staring at earlier. She sighed and said "Did you sleep good?". Lin closed the sack and put it next too her, she didn't want to spill the berries out or squish them. She spaced out, again.

Thane smiled and just nodded his head as he moved the skillet so fast that the meat in it flipped over. Then he looked back at her. "I guess. Stiff neck, but nothing I can complain about. And you?" he asked, averting his eyes back to the meat. He didn't recognize how hungry he was until now, looking at the food he'd be able to consume in three more minutes.

"It was okay, could have ad a better night of sleep. I'm sore, I think it was from laying in a weird position or something, who knows." Lin said. She sighed an looked at the sky for a moment, she was tired of staring at a stupid rock. She ran her hand through her hair and leaned back. 'Try not to stare into space....'.

Thane just nodded his head as he slabbed a piece of well-cooked deer meat on a plate and then the other on his. He got up and sat next to Lin. He handed her a plate and then began to eat into his. "My neck's sore from it resting against the log," he said as he then added a chuckle.

"You should sleep with something under your neck, r neck pain should go away if you do that...." Lin said. She began to eat her food, she wasn't that hungry but she needed to eat so she ate. When Lin was done eating she whipped her mouth and sighed. She sat her plate next to her.

Thane shrugged. "You're right, but I just fell asleep that way," he said with a small chuckle as he ate his last bite and set his plate aside and got up. "Well, ready for some training?" he then asked her as he threw her the cantine of water he managed to fill.

Lin got up and stretched. She nodded and said "Yeah, I'm ready.".

Thane smiled and handed her her sword he made her as he grabbed his own sword, motioning for her to follow him into the nearby meadow.

Lin smiled and said "Thank you.". She followed Thane to the nearby meadow. She was glad she had something to do, other than staring at a stupid rock. She looked around the meadow, it was pretty and quite.

Thane noticed that the meadow was instantly near a lake. Smiling and sensing that the water was safe to drink, he pulled out his cantine from his belt and laid down his sword. "I'll be right back. We need some water during training."
When he returned, he hooked his cantine back on his belt and picked up his sword, motioning for Lin to prepare herself. "Ready?" he asked her as he innocently took an easy swing to her. If she was able to block him, then that'd be good, but if she wasn't able to, his senses would tell him to stop before he would harm her. |
Lin watched Thane walk off to the lake. When he returned she waved at him and smiled slightly. She pulled out her sword and said "Uh yeah, I'm ready.". Lin got into her defense stance, which made her look a little funny but she didn't care. If she wasn't that good at using a sword it wasn't her fault, she had to teach herself how to use a sword.
When Thane swung his sword at her she blocked it with her sword. "That was easy." she mumbled. |
Thane smirked at her response. "Oh, this is just warm up," he told her in a challenging and yet playful tone. Then he swung his sword back to relax. "Now let's see how your footwork is," he said as he took a step to the left and then swung his sword down towards her hips.
