"Good! You're a bad person sometimes." He started to walk towards the beach. "Sora..." He bit his lip gently and his eyes darting to him and then away again. "I..." He sighed and shook his head. "Don't worry about it." He hung hid head and then looked determinedly into the distance. "I'll race you!" He started running off the second the worlds were out his mouth.

A worried look crossed Sora face. There seemed to be something bothering Riku. Now he was determined to find out what it was. But it'd have to wait. He smiled brightly and ran after him, wanting to win the race. "You won't win!" he exclaimed, planning on asking Riku what was wrong later. Right now though, he was going to enjoy their time together.

"You wont!" He was trying to beat him, but wasn't sure how hard it would be for Sora to catch up. Riku wasn't exacty out of practice, but he hadn't had a race for a while. "I'm gonna win!" He was so close, a few more yards! He almost didn't realise that he was falling for a minute. That was until the horozion changed from beach to ground, and he threw his arms out to save himself.

Sora started running as fast as he could. Which meant that he skidded across the sand to stop when he seen Riku falling. But stopping quickly in sand wasn't exactly the best idea, so he ended up tripping over his own feet and landing on Riku. He jumped off quickly, his face a dark red. "I'm sorry! Are you okay?" he asked, looking down at the ground.

Riku had luckily been able to throw his arms out in front of him, stopping him from burring his face in the ground. However, they gave way when they had the extra weight of Sora thrown on them, and he collapsed into the dry, hot sand with quite a force. He felt the weight leave him after a moment though, and could hear Sora apologising. He got up slowly, dusting himself off and spitting out sand. "No worries Sora." He shrugged and felt something warm trickle down the side of his face. He touched the side of his for head. It was very slightly wet.

Sora lifted his gaze to look at Riku and worry crossed his face. "Riku! You're bleeding!" he exclaimed. He grabbed onto the other's arm and started pulling him away from the beach. "Come on! We need to get the wound cleaned!" Yeah. He knew he was overreacting to the situation. It wasn't as if Riku was dying. But still. He had every right to worry.

Riku laughed, hardly able to feel the pain. "Sora, I'm fine. Really. Don't worry about it! It's just a little cut right? I can hardly feel it." He remembered when he used to box with the school, something Sora didn't know about. He had always told Sora he wouldn't let himself get hurt, he wouldn't fight people for no reason. Still, a little cut on his head was nothing compared to some of the injuries he had before.

Sora slowed down and released his hold on Riku's arm. He was silent for a few seconds, unable to wipe the worry off his face. "Well.... Okay... If you say so." He didn't completely believe him, but he also didn't want to do anything to make him mad at him. He was silent for a few more seconds before turning back to the beach. "Do you still want to go swimming?" he asked, not sure if the water could make the cut hurt any more than it should.

Riku wiped his head with the back of his hand and nodded. "Sure, I still want to go of course silly." He went to put his hand on Sora's then stopped and stretched instead. He couldn't help but glance at Sora's expression as he walked back to the beach. He knew there was guilt on his face, but he couldn't help it. He wanted to love Sora, he wanted to with all his heart, but he still felt wrong that he did.

Sora stilll had the sad look on his face, but he smiled happily once they actually reached the water. He could sense Riku's discomfort and he really hoped it wasn't because he was regretting spending time with him. He shot a glance at Riku for a second before slipping his shoes and shirt off, ready to go swimming. Of course, being the person he is, he didn't have a swimsuit. But he was just going to swim in his pants. It didn't matter to him.

Riku laughed at Sora wading in his pants. He just slipped off his shirt and waded on, not caring that his shoes were still on. "Sora...I think you're a little bit wet." He couldn't help smirking, remembering when they used to push each other into the water and make jokes about how they must have wanted to have a bath. "Sora...I miss this." Riku wasn't looking at him, instead looking at the small fish in the water.

Sora was tempted to splash Riku and he was just about too when he stopped. He glanced at him for a second before smiling lightly. "Yeah. I miss this too." he said. He really did miss the times he spent with Riku. The countless hours of them doing absolutely nothing was some of the best times he remembers. He still isn't 100% sure why they stopped hanging out, but he was glad they started again.

"Sora..." He wasn't sure what he should say, or what he should do, but he wanted to say his name. He had always loved saying his name. He waded over to Sora, and put his arms round him then looked up into his eyes. He paused, as if to say something important, but at the last moment a smirk broke across his face, and he pulled them both under the shallow water.

(Sorry for not replying I've been really rather ill :( Finally got some decent meds though, so am getting better enough to go online properly. yay!)

Sora glanced at Riku curiously. He looked at him, waiting patiently for him to say whatever it was he was going to say, but didn't expect the suddeness of being pulled under the water. But despite his shock, he couldn't stop a smile from forming on his face. Or from him kicking his feet violently, creating a semi-decent splash.

Riku looked at his face through the water, the boys smile drawing his attention. He had remembered once, when he was smaller, he was swimming around and then his foot got stuck in an odd clump of weeds. He had lost control and gone under, and Sora dived under to help him. He had never looked as wonderful as he had then, under the waves. Even now, the water brought out everything Riku loved about how he looked.

Sora stayed under the water for awhile longer before he pulled away from Riku. He pushed whe water and now wet hair out of his eyes. He looked around the beach and saw there were about three people looking over at them. They probably thought he was drowning because of the splashes he was making earlier. "Don't worry! I'm fine!" he called. They nodded and returned to their own things.

Riku pushed himself up, looking at the people on the beach. "Damn...I forgot it isn't the most private place in the world." He rolled his eyes and looked away from the beach, unhappy about it but then just breathed out and let it go when he saw Sora's face, almost a perminant smile. "I'm sorry, you know just being here with you means more then anything else to me. It would just be nice to at least be able to put my arms round you." He kept his voice down so no one heard. He was already starting to feel anger towards the world. They were happy, and they weren't hurting anyone. Still...no one would understand.

Sora's smile faltered for a second. He didn't like seeing Riku unhappy. It made him upset as well. He was silent for a few seconds as he thought of a way to cheer him up. "I know.." he said, his voice thoughtful. "I'm just so happy being here with you that I'm not going to let anything bother me." He kept his voice low, despite what he said. He still didn't want anyone to overhear him. He scanned the beach for a second before looking out towards the deeper water. He grabbed onto Riku's arm and started pulling him away from the people so they were heading towards the deeper water. "If we come out here, noone will really know what we're doing." he said, hoping that would help cheer him up.

He looked out at the deeper water and started to wade through the water. "You can swim that far out, right? I just don't ever remember you do it. It's nearly always been about shoulder high at the deepest. I don't want to have to carry you back to the shore and watch some beautiful blond girl bring you back to life." He smirked, wondering if he actually could swim out that far...he remembered a few other times in the past when Sora had tried to show off and had failed so brilliantly it was almost too good to be believed.

He pouted for a second when Riku doubted his swimming abilities... But he probably did have a point. So he sighed before hanging his head, embarrassed. "No.. I can't go out that far..." he said, sad for a second. But he lifted his head and smiled happily after a moment. "But! I can go out to where the water reaches my chin if you want!" he exclaimed. It wasn't that Sora was a bad swimmer, per say. He just preferred to have his feet be able to touch the bottom so incase he starts to drown, he wouldn't have too much to worry about.

If anything, he was glad he had tried to poke fun as seeing him want to try so hard was rather endearing. "If you feel like you can, then sure thing. I'm sure I'll be able to help you anyway if you feel you've gone too far out." In his own unique way, Sora was rather cute. He always tried so hard to be the best, even when he knew he was beaten, but still he never gave up. "It's rather good to be swimming again. Well, standing under water anyway. It's something I haven't really done for a while."

He smiled happily and nodded. He knew Riku would never let anything happen to him, so he wasn't too worried about drowning. "That sounds like a good plan to me!" he exclaimed, sliding his feet along the bottom of the ocean, seeing how far he could go out without his head going under. He glanced curiously at Riku though when he heard what was said next. "Yeah. It does feel good~" he agreed, nodding his head. He had actually come to the beach with Kairi a few days ago, but it wasn't really much fun without his best friend there, so he didn't even get in the water. So they just stayed on the beach making sandcastles instead.

For a moment, Riku closed his eyes. He wanted to try and remember how it all felt. The soft push of the waves again his body, the coolness of the water against his skin. The sound of the water rushing towards the sand. Even just the feel of the sun on his face was brilliant.
It had been rather a long time since he had really been out. Although he always had someone around at school to talk to, or some girl who would bother him until he got home, he didn't have any interest in spending time with them. It had seemed that time spent playing games at home or watching pointless TV programs was a much better way to spend his time.
When he opened his eyes again, the first thing he saw was Sora. No matter how miserable he was, he was sure that time could always be made to see Sora. No matter what was going on, or what time it was, Sora always made things seem so much better, so worthwhile.

Sora smiled lightly as he watched Riku for a few moments. He was glad that he seemed to be enjoying the feel of the water. So he leaned back as well, so that he could float and let the sun shine down on his face. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't seem to wipe the smile off his face. He really, truly did miss spending time with Riku and was so glad that they were finally hanging out after what seemed like forever. While he floated, his thoughts drfited to his mother and how mad she would be if she found out her son's feelings towards another male. The thought wiped the smile off his face, but only for a moment. He pulled himself away from those thoughts as he brought his feet back down to stand up, not liking having them off solid ground for too long. He smiled brightly when he seen that Riku was looking at him. "Hey! You want to see who could hold his breathe the longest?" he asked. Even though it was childish, he still wanted to do it. But he wouldn't complain if Riku said no.

Trying to get his now wet hair out of his eyes, Riku didn’t see Sora’s momentary unhappiness. “Huh? You know I’ll beat ya!” He smiled widely at the thought of another challenge. It was the one thing he knew that him and Sora would always have together, their love of trying to beat each other. “You sure you want to do this Sora?” He laughed and then stretched as best he could while in water.

At that moment, he was probably more happy then he had been in at least a few years. He wasn’t worrying about anything, he wasn’t thinking about things he could or couldn’t do. He was just messing about with his friend like they always used to. It made him think about the past, when they all used to be in a little group. They used to fight each other for things they never really wanted, just for the sake of fighting. They had always been the closest out of the group. It showed now, that he hardly talked to any one any more.
