Grayson felt particularly upset and bored today. He had been sitting in his room for most of the day. Like most of the patients there with his condition - a word that he adamantly hated, he found that he had no condition - he had his own room. Inside of it, a small bed, and a desk. The desk had papers and pencils, he was encouraged to write things that he saw or felt down throughout the day.
Instead of sticking around his room like he did for most hours of the day, he decided to slip into one of the several common rooms. He had a fondness for one with a piano and several chairs. He didn't play, but there were others there that did. They kept a lock on it to be sure that no one just played it to make noise and also so no one would disrupt anything.
In a white shirt and a pair of loose fitting blue pants, he found a chair in the room. He felt nervous being in a room with others. He blinked a few times an was approached by a nurse. He swatted her away and sat back in the chair with his arms folded.
His dark eyes scanned the room, and occasionally a piece of brown hair fell into his eyes. He just shook his head to get it out of the way, not moving his arms over his chest.
The nurse returned with his medication. That's what he got for leaving his room, he figured.

So boring. So boring…So boring. Noble was going to go mad. As usual, his face was a blank mask, and no expression seemed to stir within his emerald eyes. He was pacing once again. He’d been here for a week now, and was still confined to his room. They’d said he could leave his room today, after speaking with the doctor.
The door opened, and in stepped a tall male with glasses. He smiled at Noble, the youth being shorter than him, and took a seat in the chair by the desk. “So, Noble. How are you feeling this morning?”
Noble resisted the urge to scream and pound his fist into the man. He wanted to be outside! He hadn’t done anything wrong! It was just a few animals, and he wanted to have fun. He deserved it, for being so good all the time. You’d think he was the perfect son. “Just fine, Doctor Banfield.” The male smiled easily, inwardly sneering as the doctor evaluated him, then made a few marks.
“Alright. Why are you here, Noble?” As usual, the good doctor was recording the conversation, and he wanted Noble to repeat it again.
“I’ve been diagnosed with sociopathic personality disorder.” He stated, avoiding the real issue.
“Noble…” The doctor’s tone was clearly a warning.
The male shifted, before stating, “My mother found me playing with the neighbor’s cat.” He didn’t feel sorry for doing it, and had enjoyed it immensely, however, it would bring up more questions. As he continued, his face revealed the first sign of true emotion since the Doctor had been in the room. “I pulled out it’s whiskers one by one. It scratched me-” Noble paused to show his arm. “So I took some pliers and tried to rip out it’s nails. That didn’t work, so I located a hammer and smashed it’s paws.”
“Alright Noble.” The Doctor commanded, looking rather green. He nodded, and glanced back to his clipboard. “Let’s finish up in here, then you can come out. Your mother said you like the piano. We have one. I’ll get the nurses to unlock it for you…”
~<3~
It was almost four hours later when Noble was permitted out. A nurse hovered around him after unlocking the piano. His unruly jet hair dangled in his face, and so Noble pushed it away before beginning. He played Mozart’s Requiem first, closing his eyes as he played. However, his face continued to remain blank.

Grayson didn't completely appreciate the arts on his medication, but music was always a good thing to listen to, and the Risperidone had calmed him down just enough to make him seem mentally numb. Grayson didn't like the way he felt on Risperidone because, to him, it felt like a shut down. His mind wasn't functioning as it should be. He figured he might as well be one of those people who just sat there drooling. He didn't need his full brainpower to know that Mozart's Requiem was playing.
He stood up from his chair, a slightly glazed over look in his eyes as he moved to one closer to the piano. He wouldn't deny he was fascinated by the sounds produced by the piano, and he had barely ever seen anyone given permission to start playing. Let alone permission long enough to play a complete piece. He wondered if another would be permitted. He did notice others starting to gather around, listening to it. And off towards a corner of the room one person was dancing - however inappropriate it was to the song. (Grayson did mentally scoff this person, though he kept his comments internal).
The person playing was interesting, too. He seemed blank and numb like himself. And while he didn't really like the look the person was newer than he was. At least Grasyon hadn't seen him before. He realized he was going to have to find a new way to evade the medications that he was given. He did note a few of the nurses walking around, periodically checking on people.
When he was approached in the daze, he simply nodded, and relaxed into the chair. He was hardly sitting in it the way it was intended.

Noble played well, and since he remained calm and didn’t seem to be disturbing the others, he was indeed, allowed to play the whole piece. Once finished, however, he stood and gave a tiny bow to the crowd, giving a rather careless smile.
He moved around, speaking with a few patients. He was quite charming, and could appear to be quite sympathetic. His eyes, however, remained cold and heartless. If he could get away with it, Noble would love to torment each one of the people in here…especially that brown haired boy…
The male found himself grinning once more, moving towards the group of chairs. He flopped into one, sitting sideways and letting his feet dangle from the side. His eyes evaluated the male before speaking, creating a quick list in his mind. Eyes glazed. Medication. Perhaps a milligram or two too much? Bored. Garner his interest first. Move slowly first…Then we get to play.
“’Lo.” he commented, continuing to eye the male. “You look as bored as I feel. Whatchu in this dump for?”

He almost wished the man didn't stop playing. Without his fingers on the keys of the piano, it gave him a chance to bother others. And that included Grayson. He didn't really feel like being bothered by anyone today. He had enough of the nurses and the medication to last him a week. In fact, he figured he might as well try and find a way to skip out on the medication the rest of the week.
"Hello," Grayson wasn't too interested by the sound of his voice. Of course, nothing particularly interested him on medication. Without it, a lot of things fascinated him (unless he was having a bad day - then it was about the same regardless of medication). He hesitated to say what he was in there for. And he simply gave a blank stare at the man. He almost wanted to stand up, see if he was smaller. But instead he remained sitting, his way of being defiant towards a conversation.
But after a few moments, he shrugged his shoulders and added, "Schizophrenia." So many people outside of here found it such a terrible thing to be. But it was Grayson's day to day life before this Ward, and it didn't seem so bad to him.

Right away, Noble resisted the urge to smile. This was great…
Instead, he faked concern, something he was almost a pro at now. “That sucks, dude. It’s horrible here, huh?” It was clear the boy didn’t want to talk much, but Noble was determined to get on the male’s good side. “My name is Noble, by the way. I was wondering what kinda things you like to do. I’d love to have someone to talk to in here.” Another lie…

"Here, I could take it or leave it," Grayson commented absently. He rolled his eyes and shifted in his chair to sit up perfectly straight. He wasn't ready to stand up yet. He would get up and move when he walked away from the entire thing. "Usually it's the people that are worse than the place." If he hadn't dropped the hint that he had been there a little while, that statement certainly did. His body stiffened slightly when he other introduced himself. Grayson wasn't trusting no matter what the situation was.
"I'm Grayson," he said, hesitating while he did. "It is quiet. Usually that is the preference here." He couldn't imagine the sort of trouble that he,or another would end up if they just wanted to make some noise. "Apparently fraternizing makes noise." The tone in his voice was flat, emotionless.
"The nurses I could do without, too." He maintained that glazed over look, still. He was obviously not completely there, no matter how well he was talking or coherent he was when he did.

The male found himself leaning forward, his gaze confused by Grayson. “What did they put you on? Hmmm…do they check your mouth after you take it? If not, you should take it out of your mouth, and put it down the sink back in the room…You don’t need to be on it.”
He leaned back before continuing quietly, “You look really messed up…You’ve been in here a while then? When is your release date?”

"Ever heard of Risperidone," Grayson's statement didn't sound much like a question - and more like a statement. Of course, the other was a mental patient, he most likely had heard of the medication. And if he hadn't, he was new to being one. "I know I don't need to be on it. It's better without. And they do. When I'm out here."
Release date? Hah. Grayson laughed - but it was definitely not one of joy. And it wasn't exactly amusement. "I'm here indefinitely." Maybe if he cooperated more often he would more likely be released. But he wasn't about to just bend because others wanted him to. Or because his parents wanted him home.
"I've been here awhile," Awhile could really mean anything. A couple months. A year. It was just a matter of how someone interpreted it. "I've never seen you before."

"Never heard of it...if it makes you like this, why do they keep making you take it?" Noble practically demanded of the other male, intrigued by the laugh. "Indefinately...Me too."
He was quiet for a few moments, evauating the male. Clearly, Grayson wasn't going to give him straight answers. Understandable. He wasn't pleased with the situation or place he was in. Noble wasn't going to give up, but he would leave it be for now. "No...you wouldn't have seen me. I've been here a minute, but I've been on lockdown in my room. Not sure why." He wrinkled his nose and shook his head. "They are way too strict here."
"What kinds of things do you like to do here, then?"

"I'm schizophrenic." Adding paranoid usually made him think that person would go after him - and even in his drugged state, he realized the humor in that. But he knew that he wouldn't tell another patient that. He let them believe that he had delusions, sure. Delusions that he knew while drugged were not real, but as soon as he slipped off his drugs, it broke past any logic an felt and seemed very real to him.
"Newbie, then. Don't screw with the nurses. They'll give you extra crap that probably makes you drool and feel dead for a day." His eyebrows furrowed in the center of his forehead. He seemed to be thinking on the last question that he was given.
"To be honest...I just hang around here. Or listen to music on a stereo." He wasn't able to have any small personal devices. He wasn't really supposed to have many books, either. They had to limit him to help him, and he knew it. "Read, maybe. There's not much. It's a damn psych ward."
