"I've lived in places all over the globe," Léan replied, simply. "My favorite place to live was the Mediterranean Sea...a beautiful place, full of fish..."
Alice smiled at the thought. "I've never been there, but i bet it is beautiful." Her eyes drifted up to the moon, it's reflection made her eyes sparkle as she thought about the sea. "I've never been anywhere really, but i guess that's just the way it goes for someone like me." she looked back over at Léan. "So have you ever met another human, not in a threatening way, but friendly, kind of like me i guess."
"I've encountered humans. One who wanted to kill me and one who wanted to capture me and put me on display, after killing and gutting me of course..."
Léan had a problem with being treated like a dangerous animal by humans, it seemed. |
Alice frowned. "I'm sorry." Then she set her brow with a glare. "you know if i ever meet those jerks they are going to get their necks wrung!" She grumbled a few curses under her breath. "I don't understand why people would want to hurt you." She admitted once she let her anger out.
"Humans have a superiority complex when it comes to other beings. Most do, anyway..." Léan replied, reasonably. "Other creatures are inferior to them...therefore, they have the right to do whatever they want with them...for example...hunting. The population of this species is too high, so humans feel that they have the right to pick them off by hunting. What if another species decided to do that to humans, because their population is nearly too much for the planet to handle? It would be a crime, according to humans..."
Alice nodded. "Yeah i know." She hated the fact but he was right. " I wish i could change peoples minds though i mean... especially about you. You don't deserve to be hunted down." She sighed. Humans were too pig-headed, thinking that they deserved everything. It was just another reason why Alice wanted to escape.
Léan shrugged, absently. He seemed rather nonchalant tonight...his weariness was making him less and less reactive to her words. At least he was still talking, and hadn't fallen asleep on her or something along those lines...
Alice stumbled towards him slightly as a wave caught her off guard. Her cheeks reddened but she said nothing about it and just stayed put. "So besides crafting jewelry, what do you do for fun?" She figured she would change to a happier topic.
Léan arched an eyebrow when the wave brought her closer to him, but said nothing on the matter. "Lay in the sun...sightsee...explore coral reefs..."
"That sounds fun." She smiled at him. "I bet sight seeing in the ocean is a lot better than on land. I wish i could see them, I've never seen a coral reef myself, just pictures. I bet the real thing is a lot better."
"I tend to find them too overcrowded for my living tastes. But sightseeing is nice," Léan mused, tail flicking back and forth slightly in a thoughtful way.
Alice nodded, it made sense that they would be crowded, reefs were great habitat for fish. She smiled as she watched Lean. Then another thought occurred."Have you ever explored a sunken ship?"
"Several," Léan replied, stretching himself out a bit more. "There is one nearby. That is what I've been living in for the past few days...a small sunken ship..."
Alice grinned. "Really? That's very cool." another wave hit her off guard and pushed her towards him. It was unintentional but her face turned red anyway. "You ever find anything interesting?"
"Aside from jewelry? I don't find much interesting when it comes to human things," Léan offered, closing his eyes. "Different ships are interesting. I suppose money and odd trinkets are, too. But most things are not interesting..."
Alice's smile faded. "Well, I'm sorry you feel that way." She looked at him. "If it was possible, i would love to see some of your jewelery at some point. I bet it's all beautiful." The smile returned as Alice saw the moon light on his face, he was quite handsome, and with his eyes closed, she didn't feel as bad for thinking it.
"Give me your favorite colors and I can make something for you," Léan offered, springing up slightly from where he was laying. He loved to make jewelry and give it away to people as gifts. He often gave most of his jewelry away to his brother, since he was the only person he really had.
Alice looked at him. Surprised by the offer. "Well i like blues and green." a smile crossed her face. "Colors that remind me of the ocean." It sounded lame but it was true, she wasn't like Lean, she didn't get to spend her life in the sea.
Léan nodded, taking note of that. "Well...if you want me to get to work on it, I will need a day or two," he informed her, his face scrunched up in thought. "Perhaps you could get better acquainted with the area while I work?" he asked, seeming curious.
"You mean the land or the ocean?" She asked curious. Ever sense they had gotten to the beach she had spent her time with Lean, she hadn't even had a chance to go to market or town. Not that she was too interested, she just liked spending time with him.
"I have a feeling you haven't gone anywhere on land, yet...but both, if you wish..." Léan replied, as a compromise. "I know where I can gather materials...I could go now..."
Alice looked at him. "You don't have to go now, i mean unless you want to." She said nervously, she didn't really want him to leave, but if he wanted to she wasn't going to stop him. She felt the water push her closer, her face going red, she wasn't as stable in the water as Lean was.
"I'll leave a little later, then..." Léan still seemed to be tired. "What do you want to do, or talk about? I'm open to anything, really...that doesn't require too much movement. My wounds still ache..."
Alice smiled when he agreed to stay. "Well, i'm fresh out of ideas at the moment, anything you wanted to talk about?" She saw he was a bit tired so she didn't want to swim, she decided it would be best to just talk. She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and out of her face as she smiled at him.
"...Not really..." he admitted, quietly. He didn't have any ideas, either. His brain was shot, and his body was just as shot. He just wanted to curl up somewhere and rest, and possibly work on the jewelry for her.
