((Im gonna head to bed soon))
Alice let a small smile on her face. "Okay." She looked up at the sky, it was rather late, the moon almost straight above them. "Well, I am going to get to bed i think. I guess i will see you tomorrow then." She gave him a smile. She turned to leave but stopped and came back. She wrapped Lean in a hug once more. "Thanks again for the bracelet's i love them." She whispered in his ear. "I hope i don't disappoint you tomorrow." She let him go, her face a bit red and a nervous smile on her lips. "Goodnight." She slowly walked back to shore, occasionally glancing over her shoulder at him. |
((Kay! I may be following you. *is tired*))
Léan gave her a few more awkward pats on the back when she hugged him, and then nodded slowly. "Good night. Come find me here tomorrow..." He waited until she was out of sight before turning and heading back out to sea. He was tired, and the sinking ship had a nice, comfortable spot in it that he was just craving to sleep on right now... |
Alice snuck back into the house a grin still on her face. She was far too excited for tomorrow. She couldn't wait. She really liked Lean. He was the first person she liked since her last boyfriend, but that relationship had ended terribly and Alice thought she had given up on guys forever. She fell onto her bed and slept, her mind always drifting back to Lean.
|
Léan was so tired that he didn't even have time to think, or even dream. He was out the moment he settled down in his cozy nest, into a long, fulfilling, dreamless sleep. He wouldn't wake up until at least nine in the morning, at this rate. Making the jewelry had tired him out--he hadn't made any in a long time.
|
When Alice woke up she smiled, excited for the day. She showered and dressed, choosing a simple, but pretty white dress. She pulled part of her hair away from her face with a bobby pin and smiled at her reflection. By now her family was gone, off doing whatever it was that they did. She snuck into her brothers room a stole a shirt for Lean to wear. Then she went down to the basement and dusted off her brothers old wheelchair from his last football accident. She drug it upstairs and took it outside. She set it up on the path next to the house, along with a blanket and the shirt. She looked down at the sand and frowned. She couldn't push him through that so she would just have to carry him up to the chair. Pulling her dress off and setting it aside, Alice walked down to the water in her bikini and scanned the area for LEan
|
Léan appeared just a few moments after she did, looking very nervous and unsure of himself. However, he didn't hesitate when he ventured closer to her, settling himself down in the calf-deep shallows. It was as far as he could move by himself if it wasn't an emergency and he wasn't desperate.
"Hello." |
Alice smiled when she saw him. "Hi." She walked out into the water and hunched down next to him. Her smile faded as she looked at him. "Are you sure you want to do this? I won't be mad if you change your mind." She looked at him. She would be disappointed, but not mad. It had to be scary adventuring amongst people that normally try to kill you. She was looking forward to this date, she just hoped that he was too.
|
"As I said...as long as my identity is not revealed...I have no problems with it," Léan murmured, nodding. "I will be very out-of-place. So, don't expect me to take the lead in most things..." His tail swished back and forth. He was very uncomfortable being in the very-shallow shallows, where his tail could be seen, possibly, from the houses nearby.
|
"Okay, well, if at any point you want to stop our date, just let me know and i'll bring you back okay?" She gave him a small smile and turned her back to him as she hunched down. "Alright, the chair wont work well in the sand so i have to carry you up there. But don't worry, No one is home so they wont see you." She waited for him to make the move to get on her back.
|
Léan seemed very nervous about doing this in broad daylight and not in a time of emergency, but he sighed, softly, and shifted himself. He wrapped his arms up around her neck and half-wrapped his tail around her stomach for extra grip. He didn't have legs to grip her sides, so this was the best he could do.
|
Alice awkwardly hung onto him and made her way up the beach as quickly as she could. She set him down in the chair and immediately grabbed her blanket and draped it over him. "Okay, now, lotion." Pulling the blanket up little by little, Alice rubbed the lotion onto his scales in an attempt to keep them from drying and falling off. After a while she had his tail coated and she smiled up at him. "I don't think i missed any." Then she gently folded his tail up and wrapped the blanket snuggly around him so it appeared like he had his legs covered. You couldn't tell the difference. "Perfect." She smiled and then handed him the shirt she had taken. "I can't really take you around town half naked." She smiled, as her cheeks flushed. Then she pulled her dress back on and looked at him. "Are you ready?"
|
Léan had a feeling that his only challenge now would be controlling his tail. It had a mind of his own while he wasn't focusing on it--during conversation, it would often swing back and forth underwater. The lotion felt odd on his scales...
What felt even odder was the fact that he had to wear a shirt. Most of the time, merpeople--even mermaids--did not wear much clothing unless it was for fashion or warmth purposes. He fumbled with it, unsure of what went where, and then innocently looked at her for help. "I will be once this is on, but...I'm stumped." |
Alice smiled warmly as she turned the shirt the right way around and helped his arms and head find the right holes. She unconsciously let her hands linger on him for a moment afterwords and when she realized it her face flushed. "Okay, well, now that you're dressed let's get going." She went behind him and grabbed the handles. She started pushing slowly, giving him a chance to realize that he was going to be moving and such.
|
Léan was not used to contact from anyone. So, naturally, he took careful note of the extra lingering contact she made with him. He decided not to complain about it at the moment. Maybe if she did it again--he wasn't too keen on it just yet.
He almost panicked when he started moving, but slowly relaxed, picking at the shirt. He wasn't used to wearing shirts. |
Alice noticed the panicked reaction, so she kept it pretty slow as she pushed him down the sidewalk towards town. "Remember, if this gets to be too much, just let me know and I'll bring you back here right away okay?"
As they got closer to town, more people started showing up. Most didn't pay them any attention. But a few girls, Alice caught them staring at Lean. He was rather attractive, and she felt a small bit of jealousy as she walked past them. "How are you doing?" She asked. |
Léan seemed to feel way out of place in town--he was intimidated by all of the people and by the buildings...especially so, however, by cars. Whenever cars passed close by, he would tense up and glance in the other direction.
"I'm fine," he replied, slowly. He was keeping his cool, at least. |
Alice noticed him jump a bit but he was doing alot better than she expected. She pushed him up onto teh boardwalk where he had a clear view of the beach and the hundreds of humans swimming in his waters.
There was a small restaurant along then board walk and she pushed him into it. "I hope you're hungry, this is my treat so you can get what ever you like." She smiled as they sat down at the table with 'handicapped' access. The couple got a few stares, but most were harmless, just people curious as to the young man in a wheel chair. |
Léan had a slightly otherworldly look about him. His bright, arctic blue eyes were probably what attracted the most stares--they were of a much lighter tone than normal blue eyes were for humans. "All right...I wouldn't even know what to get," he reminded her, lowering his eyes to the floor
|
"That's okay, don't feel bad." Alice gave him a smile. "You had crab yesterday, you could try it the way we eat it....or you could go for something totally out there like pizza. That's my favorite actually." She grinned and tried to lighten his mood. She was starting to feel bad for making him come out here with her.
|
((I am so tired...I think I might head on to bed...))
Léan nodded, seeming curious. "I...don't care what I get...I don't know any of your food anyway. Just pick something for me." He did feel terribly out of place, but he wasn't in a bad mood just yet...that would come only after he'd had enough. He hadn't reached that point, yet. |
((okay, goodnight!))
When the waiter came by, Alice ordered them a pizza to share. She got herself a soda to drink and him water. figuring he could add salt if he wanted to. "I-I'm sorry you feel so out of place." She said suddenly regretting her offer. She would have much preferred seeing his world, but that was just not possible. |
"It's only natural," Léan replied, gruffly. He sniffed at the water once it was set down in front of him before reaching out, grabbing it, and taking a tentative sip. He didn't seem to mind it, so he probably didn't need to go through the extra effort of adding salt into it...
|
The pizza came a short while later. Once the waitress left, Alice handed him a slice. "Be careful it's hot." She gave him a small smile before she took her own slice and took a bite. She sat there nervously to see if she had made an okay decision on their food choice, she wanted Lean to have a fun experience on land.
|
Léan stared at the slice of pizza like it was a three-headed green alien for a few moments before he reached out and poked it, with a single finger. He quickly retracted his hand, as if fearing it would bite. When it didn't, he glanced at her to see how she was holding her slice. He copied her, awkwardly scooping it up and nibbling a piece off of the end of it.
A big smile flashed across his face--he liked it. |
Alice grinned when she saw the smile. "So i take it you like it?" She asked with a small chuckle before she took another bite. Then she sipped her soda and looked down at it. She set the glass down near him. "It's soda, I wasn't sure if you would want it, but you can try it if you want."
She was glad she had made a good decision. Glad he liked it. Maybe today wouldnt be that bad after all. |
